One thing I´ll always find funny about Jason and Tim´s books from the New 52 is how they emphasize that they spent their childhood fighting crime or whatever when we are talking about the continuity that had Batman going through 4 Robins in 5 years... like what are they talking about?

He literally stops two guy from harrasing a woman and the proceeds to give her money and offer her a job at WayneCorp

Or on Nightwing #8 when a guy asks him for money

He agrees to give it to him and promises more if the dude tries to put himself together. Unfortunately, we didn’t see more of this guy because he was murdered by Nite-wing (Tad)

Or when a kid broke i into his apartment and falls in this glue trap he set because he didn’t have a security system yet. He offers him some clothes and lets him go.

Of course he follows him later and discovers that the kid is in a dangerous situation and how his living conditions are. once a couple of thing happen, he goes as Dick Grayson and offers him a better opportunity to have a part time work and the chance to go to school and have a place to call home. He ends up living with Hogan (owner of the bar where Dick works)

Nightwing (1996) #12

So yeah Taylor is really not making a good job with making Dick look like a heroic billionare. While the scene with the pizza is moving it feels more like Dick is just throwing money at the problem instead on working on fixing it . On the 1996 run Dick helped people a lot without making him look overeager or naive to the city’s problems. Like Chuck Dixon is not even close to being a good NW writer, but at least he didn’t make him that oblivious to the city’s problems and a dumb rich boy just discovering the unfairness in the world

I mean Taylor’s run is just starting so we will have to see how he keeps handling things.

Edit: Now after reading #83, I can tell you it sucks
