unrelated but I found out today that lin has the same VA as nani from lilo and stitch and just thought that was interesting

1. a fun headcanon about Ben Sooo Ben tends to hang out in the kitchen a lot in SRIV and in the Christmas letters he mentions he will make chocolate chip cookies for Santa once he gets access to a decent kitchen and supplies. So I like to think Ben is the best cook on board and frequently ends up preparing the meals on board. Everyone persuades him to cook at least twice a week as there and he mostly obliges as he's proud to excel in this area. He is especially good at chocolate chip cookies.The Saints do in fact refurbish the ship's kitchen in my hc around late 2021 so that should help.

13. thier happiest memory for Dane Vogel Honestly this is just the perfect excuse to draw Dane and Kiki getting hell married.

Their colours were red and orange. Ultor & Morningstar colours and flames of hell colours. It all just works. I think Dex may have been the best man.

I need to redo or finish this at some point I think bc the idea of Viola disgruntledly throwing confetti is perfection to me and honestly I want to draw it in colour.

13. thier happiest memory for Shaundi I mean I always think of what she says in the Christmas DLC about well... Christmas. All her family coming together and a tree that reached the ceiling.

My brain has this image of the above but drawn well with twinkling lights everywhere, and then it turns out it's all just the memories of pre-SR2 Shaundi smoking stuff out of a lightbulb. This is what I mean when I say my brain writes cheques my artistic talent cannot cash.

What happens after I haven't fully thought out yet, but it probably goes something like Shaundi calling him out for breaking her heart then having the nerve to say he's still in love with her. She grows softer when she sees he's got a lot of pent up emotions and suggests they maybe stay away from each other, at least for now.

And so, they drift further apart. It hurts the both of them a lot, since they used to be extremely close, now it's like they don't even know each other.

Johnny Gat

He's initially against it, but very reluctantly gives in.

Very tense and clearly not really having a good time, but he tries.

If anyone in your family hunts, he might relax a bit. Bond over the guns and knives.

You have to monitor this idiot so he doesn't end up revealing he shoots people, not animals.

Awkwardly gets whatever younger members of the family that might recognize him to leave you guys alone.

You owe him for this, by the way. He could've been stuffing his face at Freckle Bitches'. Appreciate his fucking sacrifice.

Matt Miller

Matt is British, so he doesn't really get American Thanksgiving, but he's just happy to be there.

Don't get me wrong, he's awkward as all hell, this man does not know what he's doing there.

He kinda sticks by your side the entire time, occasionally making some nerdy references. Mostly to Nyte Blade.

He's a bit clingy and awkward, but your family finds him adorable, so it's not so bad.

Shaundi

When she was younger, she'd most likely just refuse. She had better things to do.

Older, more mature Shaundi, however, takes meeting your family surprisingly seriously.

She dresses up and everything. Helps around, puts all her charm and charisma to good use.

Your family adores her. Especially some of the younger members who might be fans.

Probably the best out of them all when it comes to Thanksgiving.

Asha Odekar

Like Matt, she's not American so she doesn't really get it, she just assumes it's an opportunity to hang out with family.

She approaches it very casually. She's respectful and willing to help, letting herself meet your family members.

She still mostly hangs out with you, a bit anxious about what your family might think about her.

She will change the subject if anyone asks about her work which makes your family a bit suspicious, but other than that, it's all good.

Nothing big or notable happens, honestly. It's all very chill.

In regards to Johnny's death in Saints Row: Nah, I agree with you, it was definitely less impactful than Carlos and Lin. I think mainly because it happens so quick - yeah, we had time to get to know Johnny in the other games, but literally all we hear is him saying he's good and then gunshots/silence and the plane crashes. We don't see him die (which works for SR4), there's no emotional music or cutscene, just Shaundi saying his name and then we're suddenly skydiving and kicking ass/moving on.

Yeah.

Johnny's "death" is one of those things that kinda gets drowned out by the fact you go right into action sequences. Even the funeral cut scene for him is negated by the fact it's immediately crashed by the Luchadors. Johnny never has a moment where it feels like you actually grieve him. Like there's a lot of "he was a good man" talk at the start of the game (mostly by Shaundi) but other than that, not much.

My bet is it's because they already knew what they were doing for Saints Row 4. But still it's just kinda lack luster compared to Lin and Carlos.

That said, death by rival gang in a crashing plane is a very Johnny Gat way to go.

A Tale of Twin Exes

"Boss!"

He points his chin at the as of yet unnamed stranger. "Who's this?" Tito asks quietly, staring down his nose at the twitchy man.

He lifts his head, eyes moving from where they'd been focused on the floor to follow Shaundi as she trots down the Purgatory stairs, a gangly, nervous man in tow. Tito quirks a brow, waiting until his lieutenant is at floor level before he rises with a groan. "Wha'sup?"

Shaundi puffs the tuft of blonde hair from her forehead, visibly irritated as she cocks her hip and sighs dramatically. The man beside her looks anywhere but at the scowl he's getting from the brick wall of a man Shaundi was telling him not to worry about. "I need some of the boys," Shaundi explains, dragging Tito's attention away from her guest. "My asshole ex stole the stash of dust we were supposed to sell on campus, and he won't let me into his place to get my shit either." For a moment, Tito wants to say something about 'her asshole ex', but bites his tongue and turns back to their guest.

Shaundi seems to realise for the first time that she brought someone in with her, and rolls her eyes as she pivots to introduce him. "Right. This is my ex, Ri-"

Calmly and without any wind up, Tito clubs the man across the jaw, sending him sprawling across the floor and into the coffee table behind him before Shaundi can protest. "Wrong ex. This is Ricky." She says dryly, bringing her hand up to rub the space between her brows. Should've seen that coming. Tito glances at the dazed man now laying in a heap across the coffee table, and almost winces.

"Oh. You should be more specific." He says, wandering over to offer Ricky a hand as he hauls him back onto unsteady feet. Behind him, Shaundi stifles a scoff. "So... Ricky, what're you doing here?"

Still seeing birds flying around his head, Ricky clings to one of Tito's shoulders to stay upright as he tries to clear his head. "Uh, the... asshole is my brother." He slurs. Tito shoots Shaundi a look with a raised brow.

She shrugs, gesturing to the stairs with a sweeping hand. "Now that you're both buddies, can we go get my shit? And, y'know, your shit."

Tito starts striding up the stairs, Ricky stumbling desperately behind him like a baby elephant, trying to cling to anything he can get a grasp on. "The drug shit is not my department, Shaundi." Tito says over his shoulder, shaking off the memory of the last time the crew had him try loa dust.

"You still make money from it."

He grunts a lazy response; she's right, as usual. The three of them pile into the elevator, and Tito eventually peels Ricky off of him, propping him up in a corner with a less than gentle pat on the shoulder. As the doors open to the humid streets of Stilwater, Shaundi pushes herself off of the wall and makes a beeline for the passenger seat of her Torch, leaving Tito to manoeuvre Ricky into the back seat. As he clips the seat belt across his victim, he offers a wry grin to the dazed man. "Sorry for knockin' you on your ass." Ricky lifts a feeble thuumbs-up in Tito's direction.

"C'mon, we gotta get a head start or that scumbag is gonna be gone with all our supply for the month." Shaundi calls, patting the driver's seat impatiently. "Ricky was gonna be our directions guy, but... you and me can figure it out."

The suspension creaks as Tito takes his place in the driver's seat, grunting as he fiddles with the seat adjustment until his knees aren't pressed up against the steering wheel anymore. For a moment, his hand lingers over the keys in the ignition, and he looks sideways over at Shaundi, who sits with her arms crossed and her eyes out the window. "So... brothers?" He asks, deliberately and slowly drawing out every vowel. She snaps her head back to face him, looking like she might argue, but then she takes on a loose grin and shrugs, nudging him with her knee.

"Yep." She pops the end of the word. "You should try it. Someone's always busy."

Now desperately fumbling with the keys and pumping the clutch, Tito starts shaking his head rapidly. "Forget it. Forget I asked."

"I'm just saying-!"

"Nope. Forget it." He manages to finally get the engine to turn over, and the car lurches forward as he lifts the clutch and stomps on the accelerator. Ricky cries out in the back seat, sobered by the rapid acceleration, and Shaundi laughs at Tito's laser focus on nothing else but the road. He obediently and quietly takes her directions as he squirms in his seat, only hitting the curb half a dozen times as he swerves through the streets. Let it never be said he doesn't try, but when nobody ever gave you lessons, your driving is always going to be a public hazard. Shaundi considers it a thrill ride; Ricky spends the drive yelling that he's going to die. Once they hit the highway, Tito manages to keep it more-or-less straight, and the car settles into silence. Eventually the drone of traffic gets Tito to loosen his white-knuckled grip on the wheel and relax. Shaundi reaches out towards the radio, pausing to elbow her boss. "Hey. Thanks for tagging along."

Tito exhales sharply. "You're gonna be the death of me, Shaundi."

She takes it as high praise, beaming with pride and finally hitting the switch on the radio until she settles on a station. Through waves of bad radio signal comes a nasally, familiar voice. "This is Gen-X, and you're listening to triple-platinum deee-jay Veteran Child-"

Tito and Shaundi both move to smack the off button so fast that Tito almost swerves onto the train tracks. Tyres screeching, he steadies the car and then looks around frantically at Ricky and Shaundi. "Talk about a fuckin' voice from beyond the grave." He breathes, shaking his head. "You got a lotta asshole exes, Shaundi."

"Death of me." He repeats quietly, turning his eyes back to the road.

"Yeah," She shrugs, leaning back and resting her hands behind her head. "But I've got you to deal with them."

consider this saints row cartoon beach episode with hijinks and fun like the Sharwarma cutscene from gat outta hell.

ok i love this bc i have a very dear in-game headcanon that anteros and dex created this accidental habit of watching the sunrise on the beach (often bc they were out late and by the time they got back to around where they live, the sun was coming up, so they started watching it; partly referenced in this comic). and it’s become one of their fave things to do together. it means a lot to them both.

anyway so in the cartoon AU i don’t think their friends know they’re dating and they’ve been keeping it secret for a long time, so their dates are super important to them……but somehow their friends always manage to show up :|

i feel like the whole “beach episode” would be anteros and dex desperately trying to get some alone time together but everyone ever keeps showing up. shenanigans ensue. a volleyball game starts. the usual stuff.

i think sr2 should’ve made shaundi skinny to an almost concerning degree instead of just going for the era typical sexy bodytype. then when we see her in srtt and she’s gained weight it’s like good for her !!
