Black Dahlia joins the fray with her Grass/Poison/Psychic team... and the odd one out that I threw in because axe.

Mega Sceptile is her starter. "This Pokémon raises the trees in a forest with loving care." Do not mention that Sceptile is taller than her if you want to live. It has historically hated all of her former partners and MC is on thin fucking ice.

Second comes her Trevenant. Black Dahlia lets it slip that they are related and refuses to elaborate.

Following that she has a Spoink who shows its love by giving her any spare pearls it finds, since clearly she collects them. Black Dahlia has a container in her house filled with Spoink's pearls because she appreciates the gesture and it reminds her of... I mean, it is always useful to have liquid assets.

Fourth is her Beedrill, Dahlia's angriest pollinator. It has a little nest in her garden where it produces delicious honey, just don't look too hard into the nest, okay? That's where it stores its prey.

Lilligant arrives fifth as Dahlia's little pride and joy. Getting its flower to bloom is quite a feat even for veteran trainers and essential oils made from it smell sublime.

Kleavor is the final pokémon and the one who breaks the typing. It is the axe pokémon and it is known for being rough, crude and violent. "If one should chance upon this Pokémon in the wilds, one's only recourse is to flee." What's worse than one violent axe-wielding murderer trying to kill you in the woods? Two of them in cahoots.

H: HI YES well, I haven't caught a shiny YET, but I've seen a couple! I saw a shiny litwick at the Celestial Tower back in Unova, but it seemed to be really bonded to a particular grave and I thought it was a bit rude??? to try to capture it?

'sides that, I never really got into shiny hunting, but hopefully in the future I will run into another sick lookin' shiny. like an obstagoon. or a sneasel

Who in the world added in the Pokedex that Talonflame can maintain its top speed carrying the equivalent of an adult’s weight (220 Ibs)? That fire flying type is barely four foot tall on average!

Well, it's important to remember that most of the "Official" Pokedex was compiled by old, outdated info and tall tales by children.

A lot of it is pretty surface level info for younger kids.

I'd recommend either downloading a third-party pokedex software online (super easy to do. We actually have a set up here at our base) that has a more practical index of pokemon.

Or we recommend downloading a similar Pokedex app for phones. (I'm more of a fan of actual dexes than phones, but that's just me.)

That's not to say that the pokedex doesn't have some interesting facts inside of it that hold truth.

Talonflame is a very powerful flying type, and a lot of its lift and speed is due to its heat, which generates a lift for it without exerting more strength.

So its ability to maintain its height and speed is thanks to the lift from its own heat.

Its grip is pretty impressive. (Irl some birds or prey can lift large animals like goats and sheep)

So, an average human of about 220 pounds might only require 2/3 of strength thanks to that heat lift.

Might need to dig a little deeper, but that would be my educated guess.

ok its definitely that pokemon are a disease post

but i am not talking further about it because idk if the person who made it follows me and i dont talk about people without them being there to defend themselves, ....at least i try to after that one fight

as much as my reblog to that post was... erm... charged emotionally, i really dont hold any malice to the op just as an aside.

A childhood memory

[Sprite shouldn't have been out so late, he really shouldn't've. But the woods were nice, and he was alone for once, there was no expectation for him to be good or perfect or socially acceptable out here.

The yelling started.

It sounded far away.

It was getting closer.

He ducked behind a tree, as some kids ran past, too fast to notice him. Were they the kids from school who liked to push him over? Still- their screams hurt his ears.

Someone else walked past, slower, calmer. Sprite shifted, holding his breath, he didn't want to die, not entirely, not yet.

However the cracking of a stick under it's feet was enough to give away his position. However the voice he heard was not one he was expecting, it was quiet, unsure of itself,

"S-stay away- I- stay back!"

Peeking out from behind the tree revealed a kid with shoulder length blonde hair, a bruised face, and scratched bloddy arms, tears dripped down his face as he brandished what looked to be a long stick with a beedrill stinger on the end. A caterpie sat on his shoulder, also looking worse for wear

"I- I- I'll hurt you! Don't make me!"

Sprite took a careful step forwards, voice quiet

"I like your pokemon..."

"..."

The boy lowered the stick, visibly shaking

"Do you want me to take him to a pokemon centre...? Casey said I should do that with hurt pokemon..."

The kid nodded, passing the caterpie to Sprite.

They walked side by side out of the woods,

"What's your name?"

"..."

"Can I call you beedrill- like your weapon!"

"yes!- I ... i-if you want..."
