- Is bad at peacocking. She mostly wants to impress her crushes, but she gets so nervous. Tries her best to look as presentable and cute as possible when she has a high chance to run into them. Makes them a lot of stuff to show off her talent (and that she cares about them too).

Aman

- He’s too good at peacocking. He knows the right amount to do, especially if he needs a cover job for an area. He’s currently posing as a depot agent but was able to put together an impressive looking resume and also smooth talk during the interview with Ingo. (Too bad he’s his boss. He seems easy to rile up…)

- He’s done this plenty with other jobs. He’s an amazing bullshitter. But he also loves peacocking a bit too much, sometimes, as well.

Pecha

- Never. Maybe a couple times she’s forgotten or broken promises, but never purposefully. Even if she did have a plan to betray someone, I’m thinking probably during a board game, she’s an awful liar and would be caught miles before her plan could make it anywhere.

Aman

- So, so, soooo many times. Comes with his job territory. He’s a cunning liar. Currently as a Depot Agent he’s playing the double spy game. As a Depot Agent he has a job that is a favorable incentive for Team Plasma higher ups to want him as a Team Plasma member. So, in a way, he is betraying both’s trust at the same time. (He feels bad about lying so often to Ingo, Emmet, and the rest of his coworkers but at least he has the conscious that he’s making it safer for them to do their job)

- He doesn’t care about lying to and betraying Team Plasma higher ups. They’re scum and villainy he’s used to. He feels bad for the teens caught in this mess though. There’s always kids who truly believe the big boss’s shitty rhetoric and “morals”. The ones that tell Aman that they look up to him and trust him…those are the ones that make him feel bad when they finally realize he’s never been on their side in the first place.

Pecha

- At home spa day! She basically does that whole way too much skin care routine at the start and then ends with a nice bath with some bath bombs. On other pamper days, she calls up friends and asks if they want to go shopping. One can never have too many clothes.

Aman

- Going out at a good place at the end of the day. He knows all the good food places in almost every region. In Unova, it’s his Tia Leppa’s restaurant Casita Manzanita. His favorite treat though has to be Castelia Cones. It’s even better if he has someone to go with him. He’s an extrovert at heart.

Pecha

- She makes a LOT of outfits…and so she definitely has to snip up a lot that don’t turn out the way she intended. She plans to open a boutique where she can sell clothing items she made but can’t really wear so others can have it.

- Saves up her Galvantula, Tarountula, and Snom’s silk for thread so that way she doesn’t have to buy it from the store. The real stuff if you have it is better for the environment!

Aman

-…tbh he’s kinda a bit busy with his job at the moment to think about ways to be more eco friendly. He does his best to toss the many coffee cups he gets everyday into the proper recycling bin aaand that’s about it…

One Short Day in the Emerald City: My Review of Wicked (2024)

For my first post, I think it would be perfect to kick it off with a movie review - which, by the way, this blog will be 90% filled with lol - so here it goes!

It's been more a week since my friends and I saw Jon M. Chu's Wicked (2024) in theaters. It was opening weekend so you can expect the cinemas to be jam-packed. But probably my favorite part pre-movie (aside from the popcorn!) was the ongoing trend of people showing up at the cinemas in costume or following the theme of the movie. This trend is one of the reasons I love going to the cinemas versus just streaming it at home. So imagine, we arrived about 15 minutes before the start and the lobby & popcorn lines were filled with people wearing pink & green. I myself was wearing a green knitted top and pink shorts! As funny as it sounds, it literally gives life to the meme of the cinema ticket person asking what movie the person is seeing and the camera pans to the moviegoers in costume. Absolutely hilarious. (And I thank Avengers: Infinity War for starting this trend & the Barbenheimer craze for heightening it!)

Also, I wanted to add that this experience was personally special because I bumped into my favorite high school teacher of all places! We haven't seen each other in years, so this was really a delight.

(By the way, this may be a spoiler-ish review when it comes to the technicalities but in terms of the story - unless you haven't seen the Broadway musical or seen the 1939 film, then I don't know what to tell you lmao)

Now on to the movie itself... The title card!!! From there, I knew right away that this film was not just going to pay homage to the timeless classic that is The Wizard of Oz (1939), but to create a new world of Oz for this generation without losing the magic of the original. We see right away the iconic quartet walking down the famous yellow brick road, snippets of "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" in the music, and the dazzling Emerald City. For a semi-theater kid (I say semi because I grew up with musicals, just didn't get involved with acting in any of them at school or anything lol), I was already having goosebumps in the first few minutes.

Of course, Wicked is known for its many iconic songs that legends Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth have made timeless, but my personal favorites are "What Is This Feeling?", "Dancing Through Life", "For Good", and of course, "Defying Gravity". Now obviously with the exception of "For Good", the other three musical numbers really lived up to expectations. "What Is This Feeling?" now has the dance routine as an online trend everywhere, "Dancing Through Life" just made you want to marry Jonathan Bailey right there, and "Defying Gravity" was just mind-blowing. Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande nailed it, especially with the fact that they were apparently singing that number live! I also loved Ariana's version of "Popular"; she sounds so much like Kristin but still made it her own! (Plus not to mention she feels like Sharpay Evans in another universe in that scene lol)

Now before the film came out, it was already met with a lot of criticism especially with how dull the lighting and coloring was. Now I'm not a technical expert nor do I have any kind of film knowledge in that sense, but I agree that in many scenes, the lighting and coloring could have been better. This movie was meant to be a colorful world and most musicals are supposed to be vibrant (unless of course the musical is Les Miserables or Sweeney Todd lol). I agree in that sense wherein it could've been better. Though I read somewhere that the director, Jon M. Chu wanted it to feel like a "real place" that the audience can visit so it has a more realistic rather than fantasy vibe - but if you ask me, this defeats the fact that, my brother in Christ, Oz is literally a magical land. On the other hand, I admired the fact that many of the scenes were practical sets and minimal CGI was used. For a film that pays homage to and is a prequel to one of the first films ever in technicolor, they slipped a bit on the color part but did good on the set production part.

Look, I'm biased here okay. I love Wicked so much, it's one of my favorite musicals ever, just behind The Sound of Music and Les Miserables. Seeing it come to life on the big screen has been something I've been asking for for years. I first saw the theater musical in 2013 and immediately fell in love with it, especially since it was connected to the story of Dorothy. Imagine, there is only a teeny tiny portion of the world's population who's still alive today and saw The Wizard of Oz in 1939, so this film is a whole new experience for today's generation. Jon M. Chu was the perfect director for this; after Crazy Rich Asians (2018) and In the Heights (2021), he's clearly meant for vibrant (in the literal and fictional sense) stories that pops. I'm still in awe of Cynthia and Ariana's vocals; I didn't know Ariana could hit opera-level octaves, wow. I'm so excited for Part 2 next year, and I can't wait to see what awards season will bring for this film. And I may sound like an overused tape recorder, but I have been changed for good after seeing this!

PART TWO OF THE FURBY SAGA: the REALLY haunted ones

okay I’m providing info on the other ones now ^_^ I’m sure you all are wondering something if you saw my last post: “oh god HOW does it get worse than magenta fuck, Anansi, and Huntress??” idk but they’re not the pros at haunting me so buckle up buttercup (distantly, the anon who asked me about my furbies is regretting their choice /j)

SO! first up is my actually not haunted one, Chlorea, and my moderately haunted one, Fig Roll. both are McDonalds furbies, while Chlorea is hot pink with green hair and Fig Roll is skunk colored. Chlorea looks like she has seen all of The Horrors that have ever existed and will exist, while Fig Roll constantly looks like he is done with life and would not hesitate to commit a murder. that murder would probably be me because he moves sometimes and I found him next to my pocket knife once. I put him in a tote for my safety

I also have Ivy, who I neglected to mention earlier. Ivy is a 1998 furby baby, pure white with green eyes and leaf clip-on earrings that I added myself. she is the first furby I got that was a real furby, even if she doesn’t work, and I love her with all my heart. that and she’s not haunted

the only furby I really and truly regret bringing into my home is clay furby. I made it out of clay back in the summer of 2023 and there’s a massive hole in its back so it wouldn’t explode in the kiln. every day I wish it did because what do you mean I have this monstrosity in my home. I’ll take a pic of it when I don’t have family over

now to the interesting ones

first up are my possibly haunted duo, Poltergeist and Xeno. Poltergeist looks similar to the knife furby meme, with a gray chest and grayish-brown body with darker stripes, and grayish blue eyes. he’s really quite beautiful and fluffy. Xeno is a full pastel rainbow with a white chest. it’s a little mangy but I love it just the same. these two are also real furbies and both work fine. they’re “possibly haunted” because my grandparents were bringing them back as a gift and their car broke down. my hunch is that it was Xeno since it apparently was babbling for the entire trip. it’s okay though I love Xeno

Smg4, he was created by chance when he was making a new Meme at the Meme Factory, and yes, his love for rainbows and other fun things is explained by the fact that Smg4 was grabbed by the hand and he went through all the colors with a hay machine, he is so rainbow-colored and bright.

How is it different from the others? There are 4 things in total:

1)He tells a lot of lies and it's not clear when he's telling the truth, he doesn't always have poison in his tail, but liquid candy (more precisely, a mixture of sweets).

2)He doesn't know the concept of death, which is why, when the events are explained to him, he said, "If Meggy loved Wren so much, then why wouldn't she stay there?" Have you introduced Meggy's lezo? Moving on, Smg4's path started explaining to him about the Peach lock, and then he said again, "If you cherished this video and the Usb, then why didn't you let Smg3 go?" the faces of Smg3 and Smg4 were introduced?.

She’s a bit easily flustered, so she’s always gone the route of “take a deep breath or walk away for a minute, then come back to the matter at hand.” She can become calm and collected when she needs to be.

When she was little, having a pokemon faint in battle would make Pecha screw up the whole thing because of how frustrated she’d get to the point of tears. She’s learned since then that during the pokemon switch, it allows a small breathing moment where she can recollect her thoughts and strategies. She can still bug her way to victory!

( I like to imagine this youtube video is the difference between a little Pecha losing animation vs an Older Pecha’s.)

Likes a good puzzle. Often does horror games on stream that have a lot of thinking required in order to progress. Unlike his sister, he's not as easily frustrated when he gets stumped by something. He's a "I'm going to try every combination of this thing" kind of guy in order to succeed. When you fail, try again after all.

This guy once spent a whole episode of a video game series of his just meandering different options when it actually was really simple. His editor made it far more entertaining to watch by continuing to point out the thing he was missing.

Aman

LOVES things to solve. If something seems challenging to figure out or has a secret to it, Aman can't leave it alone. It consumes his brain until he's finished with it. It runs in the back of his mind, even when talking to people about other things.(He's a very good multi-tasker)

Trying to solve a task doesn't get frustrating for Aman unless it's specifically rigged against him, but even then he's used to that.

Still not dead x'DD Still working on the episodes order/shuffling. And weeeeell... I was frustrated by the (classic) colorwheel challenge meme not having seven colors, so I decided to make one with seven... then it became 14... And it spiralled out of control xDD The rules I used :

-Max 1h by pony (tried not to go above 45 min but I went beyond it multiple times... For a while I wanted to try and do a prosthetic limb for Twilight (for funsies) but after failing for twenty minutes to sketch it I gave up)

-3 colors only -I had to alernate pillars and mane on the wheel

-Need to change the specie of everyone (used : batpony-pegasus, earth pony-crystal pony, kirin-unicorn and ofc alicorn)

While I don't have stories/adaptations as I had done with my shuffled design (cause it was supposed to just be a quick drawing), just a few things quickly : -yes there is a white spot, I fused my calcs without realizing I had exchanged Rainbow and Rockhoof... -Rockhoof and Rarity are supposed to be crystal ponies (when I was drawing it, it seemed to much more obvious x'DD) -Flash and Sunset looks so alike in this, it wasn't volontary but I find it kinda funny in a way? -I wanted to put an hearing-aid to Stygian to make jokes about him having 'not heard the sirens'. Then I wanted to put the glasses he had in the comic. He also got that green cause it reminded me of alternate-POS (in the comics). -Angel is the rudest (but most adorable) of the service animal -Applejack makes me thing of a shiny charmeleon and idk why My favorites (in order) are : Sunset, Rainbow, Stygian, Flash, Twilight, Rarity and Pinkie Those I'd like to redo are : Somnambula, Rockhoof and Meadowbrook, I honestly made them too fast and they either don't look as good as I'd like or they look at the same time too similar and different from their og designs... Those where I'm 'meh, they aren't too bad, but they aren't great' are : Applejack (like the outfit, but not fond of the coat), Fluttershy (the outfit is too... basic and bright, I'd say?), Mistmane (I didn't use the main color on her, it feels like I cheated...) and Starswirl (the design feels a bit too busy) If someone has advices on how to better 'deal' with those palets (or on how to make good non-human prosthetic), please tell, I'd love to learn about it!! I someone wants to play with the palets/concepts/wheel, don't hesitate to ask ! So, a friend of mine suprisingly asked me if they could spend the night today. I said yes and we talked about Double. They're the second person in my group of friends since high school not interested or involved heavily with Milgram.

Heads up for those uninterested and those who may not like hearing opinions on certain fandom topics from those not involved. Or basically just anything not in support of the three idea.

Because we were mostly discussing that situation and Kazui in jest. Since I know the idea means a lot to some people, I'm giving a heads up.

This isn't a dig at anyone or other theories by the way it's just a funny convo I had with a friend about Milgram I wanted to share.

This is just a heads up for those who may be bothered by that sort of thing.

Just to prove I'm not just bullshiting about having a friend in this instance and attempting to start trouble-

Okay with that out of the way-

While hanging out I told my friend about the two or three debate going on in the fandom. Because as I've stated it before it irked me for personal reasons and I've literally been talking about it with everyone I know.

This was their immediate response-

Friend: Milgram fans when they hear just the two of us be like-

*Starts playing this over my tv*

Me: Fuck no, but seriously, that's it-

Immediately asks for her to send me a cut version of that instead of the full video we were watching. Then told them this comparison is even more apt because it's referred to as the RGB theory due to the colors.

Friend: *uses legal name* You can't be serious?

Have they ever thought green is a complimentary color to red, and that's why it's being used so much?

My friend was a traditional visual arts major in our high school and has a better memory of technical terminology and color theory than me. So, she very easily recalled this knowledge while I was like huh forgot about that.

Then explained the use of green and red over the course of Milgram and it being related to the innocent or guilty verdicts. Then showing them other songs that use the colors prominently.

Friend: Okay, yeah. Couldn't they be using the color more in response to their verdicts then? Like she's using green a lot because she was innocent (in reference to Mu) and he's using red because he was guilty (in reference to Futa). I mean that kid used every color under the rainbow (in regards to Amane).

All the while still showing clear confusion as to why this is being highlighted here and nowhere else.

We also talked about what Kazui did because she went if that's how they use red and green then what about him pointing to Kazui's very blue thumbnail. Then said wait no don't play it I remember the song snippet and his first one when you played them to me. I liked neither.

Me explaining what I think his crime is and her going damn I really didn't think about his crime because again his songs sucked. Told her he's Innocent and she went good for him I guess it does get better.

Then when I thought about it-

I was like that's an interesting angle I hadn't even considered. I only thought about it on the level of subconsciously trying to have the audience vote a certain way. Not about why the prisoners may personally use it. I hadn't even really thought about why the song extraction machine would even use those colors while extracting their thoughts at all until that exact moment.

The colors are mostly synonymous with the Milgram institution in the framing of innocent or guilty. So, when the characters view themselves as being guilty or innocent the song extraction machine could be interpreting those instances as those colors to allude to how the prisoners view their own actions. Subtly implying that they feel more guilty or less about it.

This would mean the reason there was so much red in MeMe could be because Mikoto did feel incredibly guilty about what had transpired. Not because they were trying to frame him more negatively. It would also explain why even when using green in Double, it's done in a harsher way than with the others as though attempting to vilify him more than less.

It was an interesting thing to think about.

Literally continuing the first don't hug me I'm scared video they found to illustrate their point-

Ultimately it was a funny exchange that really made me go. Okay, so this is wild. I can seriously stop doubting myself and thinking I'm going insane. It took several discussions with multiple personal friends and one of them randomly deciding hey I want to spend the night for me to go okay I'm not losing my fucking mind.

So, friendly reminder to back away when needed and take breaks when things are getting overwhelming. Because the world isn't fandom and people don't usually behave in such a critical way towards others fictional or real existing in a way different from themselves.

Most people tend to recognize life is a very varied experience and don't make assumptions based on others immutable characteristics. A very comforting thing to remember given how I was feeling earlier this week in regards to this which some people know about and others do not.
