EDIT: How do we show appreciation to the volunteers? For me reading these deep dives on OTW issues u guys apparently it's been said multiple times that one of their objective statements is to have paid staff for ao3 and there's a surplus of donations they haven't used up or the other community solutions that needs to address. For those more financially literate feel free to analyze, snipe me or add to the discussion etc. linked here by deepa. They’re cool and these yearly analysis they did aint no joke.

Lindt ‘strongly condemn slavery’ in their policies etc. but they aren’t fair trade and source most of their cocoa from West Africa, where pay and conditions are poor, and slavery is rife. They’ve also been criticised for the relatively high amounts of lead contamination in their chocolate. Here is the Good Shopping Guide rating:

X is the lowest grade, a tick is the highest, so while they’re not the worst they’re certainly not great. If you’re looking for more ethical alternatives, look for Fair Trade suppliers, this is pretty much the only chocolate certification worth a damn. You may find this list helpful.
