Copyright amendment law of India 2012 states clearly that composers royalties are non-negotiable. If you look at my instagram, you'll notice I rarely post about #AsianMusic on my personal account. I usually have it posted by the @AsianMusicPublishing family. However every once in a while someone produces a body of work that sparks deep thoughts. @prophecproductions is a young man with an old soul, a man with an identity that is truly his own. He doesn't ever try to be like anyone else. Before #ThePropheC released his debut mixtape: #TheDreamRoom, a lot of #PunjabiMusic was beginning to sound very similar (as is the case with all genres - emulation becomes the norm, it's been happening since the beginning of time. Take it as flattery). However I have witnessed first hand what he was doing, he was writing lyrics from the heart, alone in his basement, making it cool and acceptable for #PunjabiMen and other #SouthAsian #teenangers to talk about emotions. Usually those types of songs were limited to uncles listening to #Ghazal music but somehow #PropheCProductions made #Senti (sentimental) music accessible to #DesiYouth with his #ProducerSkills. For this release of tension, I wish to salute him.
