One funfact about my take on a successful Ashura is that Starline would've given him the ability to change color to help him impersonate another... perticular hedgehog.

These rings are heavily based on Metal Sonic's bio data copy ability but to a much lesser extent. They don't give Ashura Shadow's abilities, just his looks.
