"For the longest time, I'd have said that Lucky was my best friend but now I think we're something different. Something better. He never made me feel bad about keeping Theo from him, he's never tried to take her from me. He's only ever been the best fucking dad a kid could ask for. We make a great team."

Warner stands against the hood of his truck, feet crossed at the ankles and a blunt held lazily between his index and middle finger. The brown Stenson he had been wearing all night resting on the hood beside him. The chill in the air has seeped into his bones, chilling his skin to the touch. It's a welcome reprieve of the rising heat inside of Oasis. Between the look of pure hate from Cherry everywhere he turned and the hot, burning embarrassment creeping up his throat like vines to his cheeks at his miserable attempts to learn how to line dance from Nora, the fresh air is as sobering as it is grounding.

He takes a drag of his blunt, exhaling tendrils of smoke into the air. Warner said a silent prayer of thanks to the half naked man in denim shorts who had gave him the blunt—for a price.

"Yo," Warner called out, regarding the figure that approached Oasis, passing his car in the car park outside with furrowed brows. "What are you supposed to be? Cowboy or Outlaw?"

There's no real malice in his words as he speaks them in thorough distraction, flicking the balloon attached to his best friend for the third time since he stood beside him like a compulsion.

"Ha, ha, ha--so funny, oh my God! You should totally go tell that to, like, someone else!" Cricket laughed loudly over the music, forcefully cutting (stumbling) her way in between their two bodies--one familiar, one not--upon her return from the bathroom.

Turning to face Asher with a grin (you're welcome, it said), she was quick to squeal and wrap her arms around him in a hug much more appropriate for a long lost reunion and not the fifteen minutes she'd been away from him while in line for the ladies room.

"Asherrrrrrr!" Though nothing humorous to his name, Cricket erupts into laughter at the sound of it, only to suddenly pull back to take his face between her hands, serious as one can be when their head felt like it was spinning. "How are you, babe? Are you having fun? Are you drinking enough water? Dehydration's a silent killer, you know."

Cricket's tequila had begun to taste like water...she thought that counted.

Wandering around the botanical gardens with a drink in hand and the sun at his neck isn't the worst way to spend an afternoon, Silas has decided. It certainly beat getting wood dust in his lungs from sawing. He's more aware than he usually would be of his surroundings because he's on mild Jordan-alert, not quite sure if she loved him or hated him this week and felt inclined to let him know either way should she have the same idea as him.

He does spot a familiar face, though it's a newer one, about as recent as they can be.

"Yo, Ash, right? You were at my birthday with the big guy. I think I was like four tequila shots passed where I should be so my bad if I made fuck all sense."

Drip, drop, drip, drop.

There's a Hansel and Gretel'd trail of blood drops that follows Uly from the kitchen through the back door, crimson breadcrumbs that no one would ever choose to follow -- except for the one person he was seeking out.

When he tells a gaggle of four to move, they do so without complaint and he pushes passed through with unbridled aggression as he spots Asher near the water.

"You."

The easy affection that usually slipped into his tone that made them Uly and Asher, Asher and Uly has vanished along with Uly's better judgement as his mind races faster than he can discern.

There's a red handprint on his white shirt where his damaged hand pats just above his chest, like he could tap out some sort of Morse code message to himself that he might actually be able to hear, even the low effort motion causing a painful flare that felt like it spread right up to his elbow. He can't bring himself to care if he's broken it.

"Thanks for coming in." Jackson said as he watched the man who came in, interrogated him and bought nothing, and left quickly. "Asshole." He whispered under his breath once he was out of the shop. He rolled his eyes and headed back to the back of the shop. "Man, I'm so tired of these people coming in." It wasn't a good day for the shop. The pickiest customers happened to be coming in all day. His only saving grace was being scheduled with Asher as the two always had a good time working together. He was surprised that Jared hadn't separated the two yet.

"So, catch me up. Did you go to the rave or the bash? Or both?"
