AU where they Watchers aren't bad and actively tried to save EVO and those in it because it had corrupted code, they turned Pearl and Grian into Watchers to save them

They recognized that Grian didn't want to be with them, wanted to be a player, so they let him go, leaving him with a beautiful gift, his wings

Pearl soon follows and, like Grian, is given her wings as well

When they developed, it was painful, but the Watchers treated Grian and Pearl like they were their hatchlings, their own chicklits

They watch (lol) over their hatchlings through different ways, the entity, visiting them in their dreams, things like that
