Ok I've been rotating this is my mind since I finished Chapter 2 Intermission and I need to get it out of my head!!!! Spoilers for the Main Quest up to Chapter 2 Intermission, possibly beyond that a bit too so just maybe make sure to have finished the MQ that's been released in 1.0! (Scuse me if its funky in any way I'm kinda just slapping this all out on the page!!!)

Alright so, Justin Bringer. So far we've been set up to believe he's suspicious as hell, but we don't *quite* know what his deal is, asides from wanting to get into TOPS and worrying about the upcoming election. He was also interestingly nervous about that "ethereal" that we found in the Hollow getting handed over to HAND, so he definitely knows something that we don't, and considering the events of the intermission he most likely tried to keep HAND from getting the evidence. (Whether it was actually him that hired those Hollow Raiders or not is uncertain at this point, but I feel he definitely had a hand (ha) in it) So, what's his deal? Belle and Wise's neighbors no longer like him, cause he's "changed" in some way. Zhu Yuan, despite still believing in him, also has something to say about him being different in the past (honey I'm so sorry for the heartbreak that is likely coming for you in the future). He's described as being a righteous hero of justice in the past, even earning the moniker of the Hollow Hero. But, as we see throughout the intermission, and even perhaps from our brief glimpse of him in the opening, he is nothing like that anymore. Caring more about his image than anything else, and a very nervous man. What if, rather than "changing", this Justin Bringer that we are seeing isn't even that man at all? What if, he's an Ethereal? Masquerading around as the man who might have actually died in the Hollows that day? This is possibly ridiculous, at first. Ethereals can't survive outside the Hollows! It's just a movie, like Billy said when Anby was talking about the movie she'd watched that had that exact plotline, an Ethereal disguising itself as one of their friends and only revealing itself outside the Hollow. That sets up that Ethereals don't, or can't, under normal circumstances at least, go outside of the Hollows, or they will die. However, we've already encountered our first unusual "Ethereal", that one that caused all the machines to fuse and didn't seem to be a corrupted human or Ethereal. So, there's a precedence set for Ethereals that don't fit the normal definition. Now the door is open for other unusual kinds of Ethereals, while not common, are definitely possible. There's also another thing I wanna note about that movie that Anby watched, it's (at this point) one of the only movie plots that's brought up in the main story. So, it could potentially have more plot significance that just setting up world building. It could also point to something that we're actually about to encounter in the main story! Justin definitely knows more than he lets on, and he wants to keep that unknown Ethereal a secret. Whatever secrets he's hiding, I'm sure we'll uncover them down the line. I also think, assuming he ends up not being a disguised Ethereal, he at least knows something about that odd one he wants to keep hidden. I feel like he also might have something to do with Khors Belobog's death. When we finally get the audio from the device, there's someone else there talking to Khors about "that thing". It might just be me, but that also kind of sounds like Justin Bringer, or at least someone with a very similar sounding voice. And, well, whoever it was wanted Khors silenced. And, important thing here I just remembered, whatever caused Bringer to change happened to line up with around the time Khors went missing... the fall of the old capital. Whatever Bringer is hiding, I can't wait to find out what the ZZZ writers are planning...!! And how much water my theory holds up lol (also sorry I lost a lotta steam at the end sooo I hope this comes across ok asdfsaf)

          diana had never been given flowers, so she was actually surprised. it was rare for someone to give away a bouquet whose flowers actually had meaning. red roses, of course, were common and were often given away between lovers, and roses, lilies and carnations are often found in grave decorations. but otherwise? most people chose bouquets for their looks or because they liked certain colors. this bouquet, however, had certainly not been chosen for its appearance only.

          the single dahlia was much more than a decoration.

          he knew who she was; even aside from knowing of her fondness of flowers. it was … frightening. she hadn't thought that anyone would know of her or even find her.

          she had always been living very withdrawn, and after freya had disappeared, dahlia had certainly not let diana out of her sight. it was unlikely that anyone knew her at all.

          "and yet you seem to understand the whispers of their language seemingly well", diana finally answered, the bouquet still in her hands. she knew he was a vampire … the subtle whirring of magic from which vampires were created revealed his true nature. sensing magic is a gift, perhaps a curse, diana had inherited from dahlia. it made the brunette witch even more suspicious about tristan's intentions.

          "well, i thank you for the wonderful flowers and the … warm welcome. i believe i do not need an introduction." tristan seemed to know almost everything about her. her name, her connection to dahlia, the fact that she hadn't lived in this century aside from recently… it was scary.

          "but i do wonder … what do i deserve this reception for?"

The bouquet he introduced himself with fused messages of contrasting light and darkness. The single dahlia was a literal token alluding to its namesake. Encircled by dark-crimson roses for mourning, red poppies expressing consolation and purple hyacinths showing their sorrow. An arrangement meant for someone suffering from a recent loss. An element of sunlight gave a particular candor to the greeting. Yellow roses implying new beginnings and a desire for friendship. "Tristan de Martel. My pleasure. I would advice against interpreting too much out of the subtle inclusion of lavender at the side. A treasured favorite of my sister. I adopted the habit of adding a small touch of it as a personal calling card in allusion to her during the Victorian era." He amicably commented. "Oh and since you seem to be owed a long-overdue introduction..." Embracing the temporal contradiction without apology, Tristan offered a gentlemanly bow. "Welcome to this century, Diana."

A drop of grace, the stench of ozone, and Castiel's face is free from makeup once more. "You should consider getting some diapers. Apparently, they think that's what cupids look like. And it would suit you."

           somehow, katherine wasn't entirely convinced that this was supposed to be something harmless. unfortunately, most things had a deeper reason, and since she was close to enemy territory ... well, let's say she was a bit paranoid. even @traumapyre explanation, although packed into a compliment, did not convince katherine that this person wasn't a threat. "most people stick with saying sorry and not doing an entire introduction of themselves." so perhaps the entire thing was planned. and yes, katherine consciously refrained from returning the favor and introducing herself. 

she had heard talk of the doppelganger, the one who looked like Elena. or rather who Elena looked like. Already when the woman, Katherine came to view she had a subtle feeling she wasn't Elena, and her threat only confirmed such a thing. For a moment, Ophelia almost becomes flustered. "Sorry. Couldn't help it, you are rather pretty." she supposes Katherine is aware of her own appearance, just the same she mentally chides herself for the subtle flirtation. "I'd like to keep my arm in tact, to consider my eyes elsewhere. I usually hate it when men stare, so I should know better. I'm Ophelia, by the way or Fee, if you prefer." Jasmine would wring her neck if she found out about her attempting to make friends with other vampires.
