November 2018
Yet another issue has raised its ugly head.
Our hired camera for the shoot is the Sony Fs7. The booking which had included a Metabones Adapter. This is a piece of equipment that allows us to use the Canon Cine lens’ with this camera. It is a very small item but very important. The Metabones that came with our kit is out of alignment. This means that when any of the lens’ focus is set to infinity, the image is still soft. This is a massive issue which effects the entire shoot and all of our lens’.
The shoot is tomorrow night at this stage and the store has no more Metabones that it can give us in its place. Unfortunately, we have had to abandon the Sony Fs7 and instead book the Panasonic Gh4. Its not ideal but we should still be able to achieve the final product we desire with it.

November 2018
Two days before our shoot, our lead actor Tony King had to drop out. Obviously, this has had an enormous effect on the intended shoot. Without our lead we couldn’t go ahead.
At this stage, a huge amount of equipment had been booked (Over 51 items), The cast and crew transportation had been booked and organised, some crew having to travel a long distance. Catering had been organised and paid for, our hero car had been hired, paid for and collected. Everything was ready to go and now cancelling the shoot seemed to be the only card left to play.
Josh made the decision to try and hire a new actor over cancelling the whole production. He had a very brief window in which an actor had to be sourced and transported for the shoot. He spent the entirety of Wednesday sending out adverts to Actor directories and on the phone to perspective actors. Finally, on Thursday mid day and actor was hired for the role. Derekk Ross was to take the role of Vincent Crawford.
Thankfully, after and extremely stressful two days, the shoot is still scheduled to go ahead.

Here is the screen test and choreographed fight that makes up a large part of our scene. There is a very good reason for why it is blurred, but I’m afraid we can’t reveal that info at this point.

Joshua and Producer Magnus, went over to the Highcross location for a night time recce. This was partly for Josh to look over the location with the artificial light provided other than daylight, and partly for Magnus to look over the health and safety involved with shooting at the location.
As you can see from the pictures above (with our lovely producer stepping in for talent) that the recce went extremely well. The shots Joshua’s planning have been set in stone and the shooting day should go as smooth as silk.

Our wonderful producer Christian Villarba has handed off to Magnus Toresen. Magnus has set to work sorting out RA forms for Highcross and obtaining the missing members of the crew needed.
We’ve gone from one hard worker to the next. The team is really starting to shape up!

After much correspondence with NPC, Joshua has finally secured a location agreement to use their Highcross Multi-Storey Car Park. This means that the concept of filming the first scene is very close to coming to fruition.
The project is really starting to pick up pace now and planning is key at this stage.

Joshua also started work on the storyboard late in August. Although the first scene was completed as an animatic by the brilliant Aiesha Penwarden. Josh has had to continue with the storyboard himself as Aiesha was unavailable for the whole project.

September 2018 (important changes)
So a big decision was made about the project over the last few weeks. Because the script is so strong and Joshua’s vision for the film so clear, the films production has become a lot larger and there for more expensive.
Although it would be possible to film with a shoe string budget, the decision to try and acquire a full scale budget in order to do the film right and achieve exactly what it deserves has been made.
The plan is to film a proof of concept video (Teaser if you will) and start a page on a yet to be decided funding site. The budget as it stands so far is just over £6,000. Joshua will work closely with producers to try and work out a more precise budget over the coming months.

The title for the film has been changed (slightly) to “Never Feel a Thing”. The simple adjustment makes the title much stronger.

The 4th draft is finished! This is the completed story in its entirety. No more changes to the story or structure will follow. The completed script has turned out very good and we can’t wait to get started on filming the project.
There will be a 5th draft but only to fix formatting errors, grammar and spelling.

Josh finished the 4th draft of the script. Once finished it was handed out to 5 reviewers for constructive feedback.
This version of the script stands completely alone from the previous versions and has many changes in its structure. Early feedback of the finished script is very positive.
