What Are Astrological Houses? (Part 3)

Many people are familiar with their star signs and sometimes even their planetary birth charts but one things that often gets overlooked is astrological houses, The reason for this is because it's very precise you need someone's exact birth time in order to get their houses and what planet and sign is in each sign, This is why even twins can be different if they are born minutes apart because the houses are constantly changing positions.

What Are Astrological Houses? The houses in astrology refer to specific sectors of the celestial sphere that are used in astrological interpretations to analyze different areas of life.

There are twelve houses in astrology, each representing different areas of the human experience and aspects of life and how the area of life the energy is expressed so if the sign itself are the traits and the planet is how the sign traits will be expressed then this means the houses is where the energy is going to be focused on.

for example a passionate Leo sun where the sun represents their outer self in the fourth house will be passionate about family and express that outwardly since the 4th house represents family and roots where another Leo that has their sun in the fifth house which represents fame and everything Leo will be passionate about being in the spotlight and everything Leo as this is where the energy is focused on.

House degrees change 1 degree roughly every 4 minutes.

House System

There are two main popular house system whole sign or Placidus.

Whole Sign: Houses are determined by whole signs of the zodiac. Each house occupies exactly one sign, starting from the sign of the Ascendant, I personally use this each to their own.

Placidus: Houses are unevenly divided based on the Ascendant and Midheaven's degree divisions. This method aims to reflect the varying daily and seasonal arcs of planets more accurately.

Depending on which one you use is going to place each planet and sign into different houses. Using either system WILL NOT CHANGE THE FIRST HOUSE AS THATS ALSO YOUR RISING OR ASCENDANTSIGN BUT IT WILL CHANGE THE 2-12 HOUSE POSITIONS SOMEWHAT.

First House (Self)

Keywords: the self, personality, appearance, social, mask, how one is perceived by others.

The First House in astrology, also known as the Ascendant or Rising Sign, is one of the most important houses in a birth chart.

This is part of your big/main 3 in astrology and is just as important as your sun/star sign as it represents the self, personality, appearance, and how one presents themselves to the world.

It is associated with the physical body and vitality, indicating aspects of health, constitution, and physical strengths or weaknesses, Some people believe DNA and Astrology is connected so this does not take away DNA as they both work together.

I have seen family members do share signs and placements in their charts which i will do an article on at a later time.

While the First House primarily focuses on the individual, it also influences how we initiate and approach relationships with others, as it sets the tone for our interactions.

Second House ( Finances)

Keywords: Deals with finances, material possessions, values, and personal resources.

The Second House in astrology is primarily concerned with values, finances, possessions, and personal resources.

It reflects what we value in life, both materially and emotionally, and how we manage our financial affairs. This house indicates our earnings, financial stability, and attitudes towards money. It also reveals our possessions, material goods, and the things we own or desire.

The Second House influences our sense of self-worth, self-esteem, and how we seek security and stability through our resources. Overall, it provides insights into our attitudes towards wealth, our spending habits, and the importance we place on material comfort and security in our lives.

For example having a Leo moon in the second house means their emotional Leo traits will be focused on financial, So there will be a tendency to spend or invest in ways that reflect personal style, luxury, and a desire for comfort and recognition.

Third House (Communication)

Keywords: Governs communication, intellect, immediate environment (siblings, neighbors), short trips, and learning.

The Third House governs all forms of communication, including speaking, writing, listening and learning. It indicates how you express yourself verbally and intellectually, as well as your ability to connect and communicate with others effectively.

The Third House is also associated with siblings, cousins, and close relatives who are part of your immediate environment.

Fourth House ( Home / Family)

Keywords: Relates to home, family, roots, private life, and the nurturing parent (often the mother).

The Fourth House governs our home environment, family roots, and ancestral heritage. It represents the physical dwelling where we feel most secure and comfortable, as well as our connection to our cultural and familial origins.

This house reflects our private life and personal sanctuary. It signifies the innermost aspects of ourselves that we keep hidden from the public eye, including our vulnerabilities, emotions, and inner peace.

For example say someone's has a Leo moon in the 4th house the Moon represents emotions, instincts, and how we nurture ourselves and others. Leo is a sign associated with creativity, self-expression, and a need for recognition. With Leo Moon in the Fourth House, your emotional life and sense of recognition are deeply tied to your home environment and family dynamics.

Fifth House (Creativity)

Keywords: Concerns creativity, self-expression, romance, children, pleasure, and leisure activities.

The Fifth House governs creativity in all forms, including artistic expression, hobbies, and personal projects. It indicates how you express yourself creatively and how you derive joy and fulfillment through creative pursuits.

and finally the house the planet or sign is in is the area you be focused on so Mercury in the 4th house means you be very communicative towards family since Mercury rules commination as you should know now and Aries in the 4th house are the traits towards your family since the sign itself are the traits.

Astrology isn't just 12 zodiac personality signs as skeptics are lead to believe its very ignorant minded to vocally hate on something if you have not tried it yourself that's like saying Custard isn't good but you never tried that food before.

ascendant astrology observations pt.1 <3

just some little notes and observations on diff placements based off of people i know! vv mad as i typed up a whole detailed post and it didn’t save </3 i’m litro heart broken :’) so here’s a more simple one bc i’m currently up at 4am rewriting something to post lols :D

these are just my opinions and are based off of friends and people i know personally; please don’t plagiarise any of my work <3

aries ascendants tend to be very impulsive people. they usually come across as intimidating people when in reality they’re usually the sweetest under the independent and confident mask they wear.

aries risings are usually very bossy and get frustrated when things don’t go their way. they’re usually very organised and work well alone as they’re very independent, ambitious and determined. my mum has this placement paired with a capricorn sun and is the biggest workaholic; she’s so ambitious and always wants to be the best. these people like to make everything a competition. sometimes they can rub people the wrong way by competing with everything.

cancer risings are so deceiving, arguably the most deceiving rising sign in my opinion. they come across as so sweet and caring when in reality they can be the most manipulative people. from experience they end up being a lot less sweet and cute than what they initially come across as. just the facts...

similarly, scorpio ascendants have a pretty intense mask: these people can come across as unlikeable and unreadable. however, unlike cancer risings, what’s underneath the mask is usually a lot kinder than what they outwardly present themselves as.

unpopular opinion but i dislike leo risings - one of the most stuck up placements. the leo risings i know put themselves on a pedestal and love to look down on others. they’re the type to act shocked that your good at something. they’re the ones who are always like ‘omg, that was actually soooo good!’ as if they didn’t expect you to be lmaoo

virgo risings just always seem so put together it’s not fair :’)

sag risings are usually funny. usually. i’ve met a few that try too hard to be funny and end up failing - probs due to aspects but i’m not going to go into that now xox they’re normally extroverted and friendly though, one of my fave rising signs

capricorn risings are very stubborn and persistent. you can easily spot them, idk just the aura they give off - you can tell a capricorn ascendant just by looking: they’re usually slim, with a bony structure and very serious eyes. they just look put-together. think dark academia, sophisticated vibes, no matter what aesthetic the person has they still give off those vibes
