Chicago P.D. Season 12 Episode 1
all this did was remind me of how much i hated the final episode of last season. the way they really made it seem like hailey was the only one who genuinely cared and wanted/needed to find voight.
are you serious? the season before last deadass started pretty much almost the exact same way . . .it's actually pretty damn annoying
ugh. but whyyyy. this random ass detective??
um. no. no one gives adam nicknames.
KIM. why why why. i wanna see some burzek. like now.
the way this girl is like jittery all over the place ... oh maybe a man... or not???
AHHHH!!! nahh. yeahhh, this man, this man is funny af.
mannn, i did miss how fucking crazy hank is!!!!
i've always loved the way that voight says ruzek
seriosuly though, voight is pissing me off
he used to fucking talk to adam, but now he doesn't
damn. that rabbit was creepy as hell.
bruhhh!!! this damn man Rabbit I'm loving this man ⎯ he is funny as hell
oh helllll fucking nahhhhh, not my damn baby adam
i know adam was feeling sooooo much in that moment
they are really not a unit right now - this is willddddd
soooo, over 30 minutes in, and still no kim. no kim. NO FUCKING KIM. you've got to be shitting me.
also there's been no makayla, not even a makayla mention at the least.
hank is wildinnnnn mannnnn
the old hank voight would have at the very least checked in on adam, pulled him off to side, check and make sure that he was really REALLY okay.
42 minutes . . . 42 minutes. 42 mf minutes, and we still have no Kim
lol, not the we have no idea. with that underlying tone of stress
oh yea. thissssss is the old hank for sure. this man, this man.
i just. i can't.
lol chapman actually cracks me up...
i feel like something bad is about to happen
aww. adam helped her get back in the field
oh nooooo. omg.
poor adam.
he never gets a break.
never. never.
like give that man a break.
i should've known better. i liked her, so of course they had to rip away immediately. she seemed to gel so well.

Chicago P. D. Season 11 Episode 6
Voight
So a Voight centered episode.
Awe. Justin.
Um Voight. Why we going into sketchy situations. I don’t if you are police. Get somebody else around.
Damn seems like you’ve been asked about your camera footage a lot.
Was that phone call about your grandson? Oh no it’s not.
Am I alone in thinking Voight and Chapman could be interesting? Like I’m here for their friendship but I wouldn’t mind them exploring more. Just me?
This was easy. I don’t trust it. I don’t think it’s him.
Oh he’s annoying. I hope I’m wrong and it is him just so he will go to jail.
Oh we found Noah!
Oh gross what’d they do to his face?
They cleaned it.
Leave Noah alone!
Now Voight you pulled Chapman in, you gotta give her something.
Great Lake House? What is that?
Oh it’s the shelter?
I knew he was gonna take him in.
Miscellaneous
Speaking of parents (even though Noah’s are shit and Kim and Adam are not), I wanna see Burzek family time.
Oh there’s Hailey.
I miss Jay. I’ll say it almost every episode but yeah. I miss him a lot.
LMAO The way Kevin was like “what? We need to take him to the distr-okay inside it is.”
This episode feels really long.

Hank does deserve to be happy - but I don’t think ASA Chapman would be a good fit. He deserves to find someone who won’t go over his head at the drop of a dime. She is not ride or die - she will absolutely destroy him first chance she gets if given the choice.
Hank needs to find someone - perhaps even a civilian - who he can develop a relationship with OUTSIDE OF WORK. His job is his life, I know, but it has been for too long. Six years after Camille died plus another, what, 9-10 years after that? So it’s been 16 years since she died, give or take, and his job is all he has left. Literally.
I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again - Hank Voight has lost everything and everyone he cares about. A stillborn daughter, his father was killed in the line of duty, his mother is never mentioned so is absent at best or dead at worst, his wife died of cancer and had a crooked doctor too, Justin was murdered, Erin has left him and has not been seen again, Olive then promptly took his grandson Daniel so he can’t see them on a regular basis or at all, Alvin was murdered, Antonio left and hasn’t been heard from again, Jay left and hasn’t been heard from again, Jin was murdered, Jules was murdered, (curse of the “J” names, I guess), Anna Avalos died, Lexi (I think that was her name) the CI died, and if we really take the father/daughter angle of their relationship then he just lost Hailey too!
The only people Hank has left from the OGs are Trudy, Kevin, Kim, and Adam. Of course, none of these would be a love interest, for multiple reasons, but I’d really like to see Hank get a love interest from outside the police force. Since he doesn’t do a lot of dirty stuff anymore and has mellowed out, I’d like to see him come home to a woman who will take care of him and love him for who he is. He has made many past mistakes, but haven’t we all? Nobody deserves it more than Hank Voight. And ASA Chapman just isn’t going to be it for him. She will betray him if it means saving her own job, and I know that’s true, 100%. He needs someone outside of the police force at best (or a sergeant from another district at worst). Either way, he can’t date anyone he directly works with. He just can’t. If he and Chapman get together and settle down long-term, I just… I can’t see it. The whole thing will be ruined if that’s the case. End of story. 🤷♀️
If season 12 ends up being the last season, I’d like to see Hank meet someone, and slowly transition the role of Sergeant to someone like Adam, who’s been set up since literally season 1 to take intelligence. If not, then Trudy (but she’s not a good fit for it, simply because she wouldn’t like it as much as Patrol). Adam should be the one to take intelligence if Hank retires, and that is a hill I am willing to absolutely die on.
when are they going to have ASA chapman and voight get together??? he needs some happiness

Well, fuck that.
And fuck Nina Chapman.
Hank better fucking reject her whenever she gets back from Denver or whatever. He better be like “sorry, I’m good, Camille was my one and only true love.”
Because if they get together, I am going to lose my mind. I hate this. I loathe it. Who ever thought this would be a good idea?
And another thing - Trudy Platt should’ve been the one beside him, not Nina Chapman. She is an ASA. Why was she even in the field to begin with? No. Fuck that.

Ok so I am a huge one chicsgo fan but I’m studying abroad in Europe at the moment so I’ve been watching new episodes on a VPN HOWEVER someone stole my laptop (and iPad) on Saturday so I missed ALL THE FINALES!!!
would be willing to do a recap?
Oh no!! I hope you’re able to get your things back somehow. I also hope your study abroad (laptop and iPad getting stolen aside) is going well!! That sounds so fun!! Honestly, you didn’t miss much with these finales. They were very much underwhelming.
Med: I didn’t watch except for the last 5 minutes so all I know is
Will resigns & goes to Seattle where he meets up with Natalie/Owen aka Manstead gets their endgame
Fire:
Brett is likely going to adopt the baby
Casey proposed to Brett (they didn’t show her answer)
Stella is taking time off to go find Severide and bring him back to Chicago (as she should! Hailey next pls)
Kylie got into the fire academy
Mouch got hit by shrapnel and the ep ended on a cliffy with him in the hospital bleeding out/flatlining
PD:
Kev was in his kaboom era but he’s apparently indestructible like Hailey so he’s fine
Adam was shot by Callum Beck and taken to the hospital (cliffy on his condition)
Kev shot and killed Richard Beck
Callum gave Kev a glower for killing his grandfather—and for other indoctrinated reasons (maybe this isn’t important, or maybe it will be? idk but it made me wanna fight the kid)
The episode randomly ended on a minute-long scene of Voight silently drinking in a bar with ASA Chapman instead of following up on Adam’s condition
#typing out the fire recap made me wanna scream all over again#in a bad way#I have plenty of frustrated thoughts about that adoption storyline#but that’s besides the point I guess#one chicago spoilers#chicago med spoilers#chicago fire spoilers#chicago pd spoilers

Chicago PD 10x16 spoilers below the break... but I have a question for you!
Okay, do we think the writers are teeing up a Jason Beghe exit at the end of Season 10?
I think this is the first time we’ve seen him potentially want to get close to somebody in ASA Chapman but it seems like she doesn’t want to/ can’t get close to a man who clearly isn’t introspective enough to challenge his own behaviours.
I feel like Voight’s been very subdued this season so do we think that perhaps this is the start of him finally “thinking about it” in terms of how he acts?
For me, this is either the end of ASA Chapman and that romantic flame has been royally snuffed or this is the beginning of Hank deciding that he’s ready to change for someone.
Interested to know what you think!

Description: “NCIS History-Special Agent Vietnam is a comprehensive account of naval counterintelligence and criminal investigations in Vietnam. Doug Hubbard's first-hand experience provides unique insights into this little explored topic of the war, and the addition of a broad spectrum of his photos complements the narrative with a real life appeal. In an era when the term "terrorism" was not yet in vogue, NIS' investigations of insurgent attacks against US troops is a grim reminder of current threats our military faces in Afghanistan and around the globe on a daily basis.” Michael Sulick, Former Director, CIA National Clandestine Service “Although the Viet Nam War gives up its secrets grudgingly, former special agent Douglass Hubbard unveils an intriguing account of U.S. Naval Intelligence operations in the Republic of Vietnam. Drawing on his three years’ service in Vietnam and his subsequent research and interviews, Hubbard weaves a masterful story with 'NCIS History Special Agent Vietnam' that is equally inspiring and frustrating-just as the war itself proved to be.” Colonel Joseph H. Alexander, USMC. (Ret.) author of the Battle History of the U.S. Marines “Doug Hubbard Jr. explores the seamy underside of the Vietnam War from his ‘catbird seat’ as a special agent of the Naval Investigative Service. At the most there were never more than twenty-one of these Naval Intelligence officers serving in-country, and they had to deal with an overload of such unsavory matters as counter espionage, sabotage, black marketing, currency manipulation, simple theft, drug trafficking, subversion, rape, and murder. Sometimes these investigations came to a brilliant resolution that Sherlock Holmes would have applauded. More often they foundered because of command apathy or indifference.” Brigadier General Edwin H. Simmons, USMC, Chief of Staff of the First Marine Division in 1970, former head of the Marine Corps History Branch, and author of Frozen Chosin: US Marines at the Changjin Reservoir “Doug Hubbard’s exposition with NCIS History Special Agent Vietnam defines a period of counterintelligence development in the Vietnam conflict and records its events for the first time. Compiled personal recollections of wartime special agents make this historical narrative a defining work in the legacy left by the group of Naval Intelligence professionals who devised rules for counterintelligence and force protection in the challenging and dangerous arena of Vietnam in the 1960s. Theirs was a monumental contribution to the U.S. government’s efforts to achieve stability in the Republic of Vietnam, particularly in the early days of the mission when much was accomplished by a select few.” Maynard C. Anderson, former Assistant Deputy Undersecretary of Defense for Security Policy
Review - It was a decent book with a lot of historical information on the Vietnam War and NIS's members. The main problem with the book was how light it was on actual cases vs pages and pages of commentary of who was assigned when and where. Another major issue were the multiple misspellings (Viet Congo is a common one) and repeated paragraphs. It's not unreadable, but it had issues. But for the historical information, and a few insights into deserters, fraggings, and a few interesting cases, it's worth a read.
