Link is a Hylian of few words, he wouldn’t dare inconvenience Sidon with his feelings for him. Especially not in the middle of a nationwide disaster. Besides… Sidon is already engaged to someone else.
Sidon is a Zora of too many words, but he wouldn’t dare let Link know his true feelings for him. Besides… it wouldn’t be fair to Link, because Sidon is engaged to someone else.
IF YOU ARE READING MY OTHER SIDLINK COMICS THERE IS NO ORDER IM SORRY IM JUST MAKING THEM UP AS I GO

𖹭 𓆝 𓆟 Poly Yandere Sage & Sidon 𓆞 𓆝 𖹭
Born of the Hylian race and always drawn to the water. It made you the perfect candidate to be the Hylian ambassador who worked with the Zora. You worked with them when Divine Beast Vah Ruta was pouring rain and flooding the domain. Now you work with Yona to take care of the Zora's due to the massive amounts of sludge suffocating the land and creatures.
You were one of the three Hylians that the Zora allowed to freely walk among them without special permission for each entry. You wished in these moments that it was more than three. Zelda was lost only the goddesses know where. Sage had lost his arm and now seemed to further distance himself from you. You, oh you, the Zora loved Yona but saw you as a stain upon them.
You weren't one of their own, a reincarnation of a goddess, or the hero fated to save Hyrule. You were simply a hylian that was appointed to their waters.
It kept you stuck, doing your best to find as many splash fruits as possible. You'd overwork yourself from dusk till dawn just to find some. You had to find them; it was the only way to gain even a smidgen of their approval. You even went into Lynel territory for them.
Prince Sidon wasn't the least bit pleased when he learned about your being so reckless. You were confined to your room and were only visited by guards and the prince. You recovered your physical health, but not your mental. You became addicted to his presence. He'd always give you the same comforting smile and soothing touch.
Sage was the same way when he finally made his way to you both. It was the first time you were able to leave your room in a handful of months. You practically collapsed into his arms. You didn't notice his stunned silence or the firey blush lighting up his hardened features, but Sidon did.
"Good friend, it's such a shame that Zelda is missing. However, it is good to see that you are no worse for wear. Except for that arm of yours—?" Sidon spoke in an elated tone, an undercurrent of a pleased growl bubbling up from his throat.
Sage did not answer after he explained his predicament. He stuck by the both of you like the sludge that coated Zora's Domain. He mostly communicated through Hylian sign. His Zonai arm, as you learned, was perfect for translating it into an audio version of what he was signing. It would occasionally glitch around the both of you, glowing bright and moving on its own to grasp either you or Sidon.
"My friend!" Sidon gasped as Link's Zonai arm caressed Sidon's midsection.
It was a common occurrence, and it was oddly cute.
Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end.
Both of them were needed to save the domain, and you once again were shut out from the outside world. You didn't learn until after Sage and Sidon had defeated the beast within the Water Temple that Yona had been slain by the Sludge Like Like that had attacked near Mipha's statue.
The only oddity of it all is that Yona had the distinct slash of a Zora Longsword across her throat.
You were the only one that seemingly picked up on this detail. This was because Sidon wouldn't allow anyone to look at her dead body except for you or Sage. It was a question that still lingers in your mind, but you don't dare ask it. Sage didn't see anything wrong with it, and he is the hero.
It was one shock after another.
You were wed to Sidon in the place of Yona, and Link was married to both of you. You had no time to protest. It was seemingly a decision that was controversial among the Zora. However, anyone who voiced their displeasure soon had their gills cut. It wasn't as if you were against it. Both were truly handsome.
You worried about the differences between Zora and Hylian anatomy.
Both didn't seem to have a care in the world about the finer details. You lay in bed with both your husbands. You are all saddened to know that Link must go to continue his journey of defeating the Demon King. At least he has Sidon's avatar. Sidon is able to feel, see, and hear everything through it.
Only one phrase was left to be said.
"I love you both." You murmur through your sleepy daze.
Both of their hearts almost stopped. They stared at each other in surprise. The same thing was on both their minds.
You love them. They won you.

Yet another Sidlink HC
Post TOTK Sidon takes FOREVER to marry Link cause he thinks all marriages need to get arranged for him after his marriage with Yona was.
Like one day..
Link: Sidon, you uh... you ever think about... us getting married? Possibly?
Sidon: Oh, YES! All the time! I can't wait for it to be arranged.
Link:
Link:
Link: But you didn't propose?
Sidon: Didn't propose what?
Link: To me?
Sidon: Didn't propose WHAT to you?
Link: A MARRIAGE PROPOSAL?
Sidon: My pearl, I have no idea what a marriage proposal is, but I CAN ask my father if he has arranged OUR marriage yet. He DID arrange my marriage with Yona without me asking, so I can see if he's made progress with ours, or if I need to get him to start one.
Sidon: *walks off*

I want to make it clear from the outset that having headcanons or theories is not a problem. Getting frustrated when they don't come true is not a problem either. But it is when people treat these headcanons as if Nintendo had an obligation to fulfill them.
I find it genuinely funny how some fans got so deep into their headcanons to the point of getting angry at the existence of Yona (poor girl) and the fact that Sidon is in a straight relationship, but that doesn't surprise me coming from people who claim to fight against stereotypes but are the ones who live and propagate stereotypes the most (the amount that most of the queer people I've met have been bugging me about being bisexual and aromantic is unbelievable).
Tumblr media
I mean, as if canon would stop fujoshis from turning all the men in a series gay, no matter their sexuality, way of behaving or if they're in a relationship or not, so I don't understand why they say that Nintendo "removed the queer coding" when this was just a hc, Nintendo never implied that Sidon was queer, if they had said something like "a Zelda character will be queer" I could even understand, but that wasn't the case.
Now, in my opinion, the way Sidon talks and treats Link reminds me a lot of how my sister acts with the BTS boys, I think Sidon has a very idealized vision of Link, he talks about Link as if he were his favorite Marvel superhero and if we take into account that Link doesn't even seem to have frequented the Zora Region much during the time between Botw and Totk and that his ring doesn't even go on his ring finger.... anyway, it was cool to see Sidon's maturity, although his behavior is adorable, he's not a baby anymore.
I admit that Yona's introduction came out of nowhere, but honestly, TOTK introduces and disappears characters out of nowhere, Kass simply disappeared from the map, NPCs forgot about Link and the whole story of Sonia and Rauru also came out of absolutely nowhere. If Yona was the only one in this situation I would give her the benefit of the doubt, but that's not the case.
Not to mention that for a game ""with a hetero code"" I wonder why Nintendo didn't confirm right away that Link and Zelda are a couple instead of just saying this, I swear, how hard is it to formalize them? People will complain about anything, but no, Nintendo is afraid of I don't know what.
I will never forgive Nintendo for taking away the possibility of Zelda being a companion in the adventure or at least having a more constant presence. Thanks to that, I am living off of fanfics and fanarts.
P. S.: I wonder, if we ever get a remake of OoT, if Nintendo gives Malon a husband or canonizes OoT Zelink, how the fandom will react to that?
P. S. S.: Also, since people still complain to this day that TotK didn't turn Ganondorf into a "uwu boy who's just a poor victim of circumstances", a theory fueled by the appearance that the 10,000-year-old Hero had on the tapestry is because Ganondorf is a sexy man.
Although, on this last point I have to be honest, I was disappointed with the fact that Nintendo basically threw away the cinematics from the first TotK trailer and basically ignored the Sheikah technology, everything that Botw had hinted about the Zonai and the whole story of the Calamity from 10,000 years before Botw.
Anyway, it's just a question of how this fandom takes headcanons as if they were an absolute truth, and this ends up causing unnecessary fights because no one wants to admit that their hc may be unlikely to happen.
But that's just my opinion. Thank you for reading.

Why Tears of the Kingdom is the Breath of the Wild I was hoping for
Alright, so before I get into my rant. I really like Breath of the Wild. It's a very fun game and the events of 100 years ago are super interesting. It just... unfortunately let me down after Skyward Sword in two aspects that I personally feel Tears of the Kingdom succeeded at for me. Story and dungeons. Also please don't tell me to watch a Youtuber on why TotK is worse than nuclear war. I make my own opinions and my take on TotK is very unlikely to change. I have done 6 playthroughs and still feel this way. Spoiler warning.
Okay, so my issue with Breath of the Wild's story is how it feels like a mess at times. The memories don't even try to tell anything coherent outside of the final few. Some of them even need journals for any payoff as well. This system also limited the Champions from getting any development or character arcs. It took until Tears for me to appreciate them because Hyrule was still grateful for them. Revali's bow being treasured by Teba, Riju prays to Lady Urbosa in her diary, Mipha got Mipha's Court and Sidon's entire character arc was about how her death still haunts him and he doesn't want that to happen ever again. Daruk... got lights added to his statue's eyes I guess. Anyways, Tears' equivalent to them is the Neo Sages. Tulin, Riju, Sidon and Yunobo. They each get their own arc and you can tell how much they have grown since Breath of the Wild. What makes them better here is that they actually are relevant for more than just the Divine Beast boarding segments. Sidon deals with fear of losing his beloved Yona just like how he lost Mipha 105ish years ago, yet Yona and Link bring him to his senses. Riju goes from being stressed out about how she's too weak to defend Gerudo Town from the Gibdos with her aim, but Link returning reassures her. Tulin goes from being arrogant and thinking he can do anything all by himself to realizing that charging ahead all on his own is a bad idea and that working as a team is the best way to do things. Yunobo goes from being a manipulated crack dealer to being cowardly again for a bit to becoming courageous and willing to fight to defend Hyrule. These arcs help me appreciate the characters a LOT more. The Old Sages intentionally aren't fully fleshed out characters and its fine because they're barely on screen (their names are Ruto, Darunia, Nabooru and possibly just Medoh for the Rito Sage). Ganondorf being an actual character really helps as well. He wants to use the godlike power of the Secret Stones to his advantage to achieve total rule of the world (in the English localization at least). Rauru and Sonia are wonderful characters that actually try to help Zelda achieve her goal of returning to her time (nice opposition of Rhoam forcing her to achieve her light powers and being harsh towards her). Unlike the events of 100 years ago, the memories/Tears in this game actually focus on telling what led to the Imprisoning War in a specific order. The events in the memories and Tears also are all relevant and side stuff was pushed to the Stone Monument side adventure. Unfortunately the game is less linear than Breath (which honestly should be the other way around and is a massive storytelling issue), however Impa at least alludes to the order of the Tears when you go to the Forgotten Temple after the first one. The Fifth Sage quest is also an incredible questline that did what BotW should have done. It showed the Imprisoning War and how Ganondorf shouldn't be taken lightly. I seriously feel let down not seeing Link and Zelda fight the Calamity and losing. Also thank god you don't have to do an absurdly tedious backtrack quest to unlock the Camera, Tears, the Champion Leathers and the Kohga fight.
Onto the dungeons. I don't get why people switched up on the Divine Beasts in a positive way. They have a great gimmick and the "fights" are cool but that's it. The puzzles are... fine I guess? The visuals are cookie cutter and so are the bosses in every aspect except gameplay (and are basically just the Calamity split into 1/4). Tears' Temples are legitimately the most enjoyable dungeons in the series for me. The atmosphere, music, puzzles having a large amount of solutions, etc. Not to mention the boss fights actually being unique and very fun this time (BotW had some bangers too like Koshia and Thunderblight) and have unique fight themes that are so, so, so good. Seized Construct might be my favorite non-final battle boss theme for me. Also the pre-dungeon segments actually feeling like dungeons for 4/5 of them really helped make me like them more. Both games also have great and bad Shrines. TotK has far less bad ones and has a much better vibe with it's Shrines.
Anyways, ramble over. Thanks for reading. The only reason I made this post was because I was pissed off due to personal reasons. I love these games and this series so please don't take this as me hating BotW.

Can I have a Sidon x hylian reader angst fanfic or headcanon, where Sidon is in love with reader and wants to marry her, but he’s engaged to Yona, and his people might not like a hylian queen?
(Absolutely! I apologize if this is cheesy and short, it's currently 3AM!)
Where Fate Leads (Sidon X Reader Angst)
Tumblr media
The sounds of water rippled throughout the architecture of Mipha's Court. The night was solemn, like the gentle rain falling from the gloom. Sidon stared upon Mipha's statue lost in thought. He pondered many different possibilities. What if his beloved sister was still alive? Would she have married Link? Would that have enabled the possibility of him getting to marry you instead? While the Zora had gained respect for Link, they had not opened their hearts to the idea of any other Hylians coming into the picture. Sidon had only ever seen Yona as a sister to him, you were the love of his life. His face was filled with so many different complex emotions. Words alone couldn't explain the pain he felt.
"Sister... I wish you were here to give me advice..." Sidon's voice was close to breaking. His fists were tightly clenched, as he was doing the best he could to maintain himself. "It's not fair, why must fate be so cruel?" He spoke quietly, soon shifting his gaze to the ground. He could see his own reflection being distorted from the rainfall. He was trying hard to control his own emotions. He didn't want anyone to see him in such a disheveled state. He soon heard a voice echo through his whole being.
"Sidon..." You had whispered gently, he immediately turned to you. He had lost his composure at the sight of you. He felt tears starting to pour from his golden irises.
"It's simply not fair, (Y/n). The only thing fate had ever done to me was take away the things I love." He had said in a broken tone. You had never heard or seen him like this before. He was clearly unhappy with his engagement to Yona. You approached him, softly grasping onto his tightened fists.
"Well, fate brought us together for a brief moment though, hasn't it? Isn't that at least a good thing?" You asked, trying to comfort him. You were beyond broken yourself but you wanted to be strong for him. You didn't want him to feel anymore pain. Sidon's hands had loosened a bit, before he moved them to hold yours.
"It's cruel nonetheless, my love... I'm always supposed to see the good in everything, but I can't see the good in fate right now, not when it's being the thing that's going to tear us apart." He cried to you, beginning to pull you into his arms. He held you close and tight, as if you would vanish if he ever let go.
"Sidon, I'll always love you. Even if you marry another. Even if we can't be together in this lifetime..." You murmured, feeling yourself wanting to cry as well. Sidon then pulled away.
"No... I refuse to let fate get in between us!" Sidon stated with a firm tone.
"Sidon, you can't just alter the arrangement. The Zora don't even like seeing us together..." You said trying to reason with him, you didn't want to watch his reputation crumble either. You wanted the best for him, your feelings didn't matter at this moment. This is what you told yourself anyway.
His saddened gaze turned into a stern one, eyeing you. "My people are important to me, (Y/n)..." Sidon starts, his voice picking up a bit more. "However, this supposed fate is not real to me... Not anymore. What's real to me is you. I don't care what my people think. They'll learn to get to know you, and eventually love you for who you are. If they can do that for Link, they can do it for you." He said, determined. He seemed to have a new possible spark in his slitted pupils. You nodded quietly at him. "I'll find a way to call off this engagement, my love." Sidon said before giving you a kiss on the forehead. To him, you were worth fighting for. Even if fate took that away.

MINOR TOTK SPOILERS FOR THE BEGINNING + ZORA MSQ
in a rare turn of events i actually drew fanart for something- anyway this is my reimagining of Sidon and Link's reunion in the game (I see them as queerplatonic partners but romantic/platonic is good too! i just like them). My thought process is that Link is not only so done with world ending shit happening again and again, but BOTW told us he keeps silent to not be a burden to others/be strong for them. And now, with the world needing him all over again, trying to find Zelda to no avail, losing his arm, his sword, he finally breaks. Being the hero is too much.
And then this works well with Sidon's lil character arc of being afraid of losing people close to him again like with Mipha and even though the game didn't really say it, Im POSITIVE that Sidon finding out Link was missing/possibly dead made it worse. (side note, no Yona hate here!! she's cool!! I think she, link, and sidon would make a cute polycule and i have no issue with her she's sweet as hell BUT ANYWAY enjoy the comfort angst)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
im still in the middle of the zora quest and have like 3 dragon tears so no spoilers beyond those please!! i know nothing and its gonna stay that way!! LSKDJFKJKJDF
also if you follow me for more sidlink content im so sorry but i rarely draw fanart for anything HOWEVER the main thing I do draw is my two aroace queerplatonic husbands being soft and goofy and they got a comic and everything so I mean. if you like this cuddly mlm shit you still might like my other stuff LMAO

I’m already seeing people bashing yona just because she’s marrying sidon and they are mad about the sidlink ship (which I saw coming from 50 miles away tbh) so you are so real for the sidon and yona looking at link meme. The art is beautiful but also sidon has two hands. I think all three of them would be so cute. Yona is sweet and nice and I agree that she’d totally approve- and maybe even be interested herself. People fall in love with link everywhere he goes. I think yona would see sidon having gay feelings for link, and Get It after talking to link for five minutes.
Yes exactly! No reason to bash her, she seems like a lovely character! At first I was like "NOOO" but then yes, two hands. I myself am in an open relationship so I definitely know its possible :D MORE LOVE FOR EVERYONE!

Where did Yona come from and why it matters.
I’ve been thinking about for a while but everything in the game implies that Yona isn’t from the Domain. Everyone in the Domain knows who Link is because Link has had the Domain practically be his second home. The Elderly, the Middle Aged and even the Children all know who Link is especially after he directly saved their home and created a statue in his Honor. It’s not like Hylians where he did so much work with a majority of the population didn’t know what he even looks like. Or like the Gerudo where most didn’t even know he was there. Link is an honest and true hero and icon for the Domain.
All this to say Yona doesn’t know who Link is, talks as if she showed up some time after the events of the first game, has directly mentioned visiting the domain with her entourage, King Dorephan and Sidon talk about her and handful of time like she’s not from around here, not to mention she’s royalty herself. All this goes to ask if she’s not from the Domain where is she from and I think it’s a deceptively simple answer: she’s from the Ocean.
In other games they make a point to show that theirs inland Zora and Sea Zora. The Zora of Zora’s Domain has always had their Domain in a large Water Source point that has rivers that extend across Hyrule. Zora’s Domain has never been in the Ocean. Yet we have had a small handful of opportunities to show they can and do live in the Ocean too. With Yona being an outsider and a Royal in her own right the only logical place she came from was the Ocean not too far from the Domain.
I always assumed theirs more Kingdoms outside of Hyrule as Hyrule is the name of a Kingdom, not the world. With Yona being a Royal from a kingdom beyond Hyrule it opens new possibilities and ideas for the future if Nintendo wants to take it.
The Gorons have no formal government and are simply subjects of the Hyrule Crown, Zora’s Domain is explicitly called a Kingdom itself but are vassals of Hyrule (this is probably simply because Zora value the water of Hyrule more than the land so theirs no real need for anything more) The Gerudo are interestingly never mentioned as subjects of Hyrule in any capacity and are called Allies instead meaning that they’re an independent Kingdom. (Given they have a Kingdom in the Desert theirs probably more cities and towns in the Gerudo desert we just don’t encounter because it’s a DESERT nation, that tends to be spread a little more thin. The Rito are an interesting case because while they don’t have a government they very clearly have a structure that could be the equivalent of one. The Rito have always had a very Native American feel to them. They may have status like the Zora, recognized as their own group and boundaries respected but still ultimately subject to the crown.
Now with Yona we have another independent Kingdom that is not allied to the Crown but rather allied to The Domain through marriage. I’m a nerd when it comes to fantasy and medieval politics so this revelation just gets my mind buzzing.

I’m unsure everyone’s thoughts on TotK spoilers at this point, but just to be on the safe side, putting my thoughts Sidon and Link and other under a cut. Just ramblings and some mild cackling.
Okay, so TotK presented a new fun facet for Sidon: they gave him a bride. Obviously, Sidlink fans went completely nuts. Makes sense. This is a big change from the BotW dynamics. So first things first: my thoughts on the betrothal itself.
Some people went batshit and accused Nintendo of queerbaiting. Of all things, they insisted that Nintendo saw people so excited about Sidlink that they inserted Yona to break up the pairing. I have multiple thoughts on that, which will be split up a bit through my flailing meta. Most obvious first, though: Sidon is the Prince of the Zora. He is the only heir left. A betrothal makes sense! Yona was known to him, trusted, and she seems to have a solid head on her shoulders... and is also good for not taking Sidon’s shit. She is a good choice for a Queen, both for the Zora people and for Sidon personally.
I love Sidon to death, but he absolutely needs someone to balance him out. The Zora people are a monarchy. While they lack the divine rule of the Hylian Royal Family, they do have a definite strictness and structure. There is a great deal of respect for the royal family, for the structure that is in place, and the Zora people also rely on the royal family for multiple things. The Zora royal family is clearly not symbolic or there for show: they are the guardians, protectors, and leaders of the Zora people. Whoever would be paired with Sidon would need to fulfill those roles.
From what we’ve seen of Link, he has two sides: feral little warrior or duty-bound Knight. He doesn’t try to take leadership roles: he hears of a problem, sighs a little at how the problem isn’t being solved, and does it by himself. He works with teams, but there’s no indication of him ever leading. He’s the Tony Hawk of Hyrule. He’s the guy who does things so quietly that people are baffled when they’re successfully done.
So where does all of this leave Sidlink? I think there are a couple takes on it.
While Sidon is canonically marrying Yona (and absolutely no Yona bashing on my blog: I adore Yona), I think if Sidon married her and Yona acted as his queen and the Queen of the Zora, and yet he still had a full relationship with Link on the side... he would do so with everyone’s blessing. Dorephan’s, the Zora people’s, Yona’s... Fuck, he literally put a ring on it, and he was congratulated. He has a statue of him and Link, and everyone honors it. He has it literally in writing on the wall how much he adores Link and wants everyone to know how awesome Link is. And fuck, did everyone talk to Yona after Link successfully finds the Zora greaves? Sidlink isn’t even my ship and it seems like she is giving her blessing and sounds thrilled that Sidon found such a great side piece.
Seriously, my favorite pairing is Revalink, and every Zora interaction seemed like Sidon was madly in love with Link, and despite marrying Yona, everyone in the kingdom was cheering Sidon on. Wouldn’t be the craziest thing, really, and would require no effort to make Sidon/Yona a political, if happy and respectful, marriage, with the King (and really, the Queen, providing no children come from it) having concubines/lovers/etc. Which makes the second possibility for this subject even funnier.
This is my go-to, although, again, even for a non-shipper, Sidlink is amazingly easy in TotK: Sidon and Link have nothing going on. It’s completely platonic. It never occurred to either of them that people interpret their interactions and Sidon’s comments as romantic. Everyone -- Dorephan, Bazz, Yona, everyone -- is convinced Sidon and Link have been fucking for months, if not years, and they’re okay with it. Hell, they’re thrilled by it. Yona adores Link and is fine sharing Sidon with him. Hell, she encourages it (with neither Link or Sidon understanding it but happy to have some time to hang out together). Dorephan is convinced that he has a pseudo-son-in-law and couldn’t be prouder. He expected to have Link as an actual son-in-law a century ago, anyway. Everyone thinks they’re screwing, and everyone is happy with it, with Sidon and Link never catching on.
Bonus points if Link is actually in another relationship, and one day, I might write that little bit of crack.
More bonus points if Sidon is actually ace (which is really, really easy to headcanon, honestly) and Yona attributes his struggles with babymaking to his love for Link.
There’s possibly Link struggling to figure out where he fits with Sidon after learning about the engagement, with most of the kingdom (including Yona) taking it for granted that of course Link would stay with Sidon. There’s Sidon struggling with figuring out how to insert Yona in his life and the canon struggling of having someone else to lose. (At least he’s confident that Link can and will survive, even though Link vanishing must have scared the shit out of him.) There’s possibly Link knowing that such things exist due to his travels and his own history with royals but not connecting it to himself, especially when he sees Sidon struggling with his relationship and upcoming marriage to Yona. Multiple opportunities for both fluff and plotty tension.
But yeah... at no point do I see Yona actually being a barrier to Sidlink. It’s amazingly easy to see her as a fucking Sidlink shipper, whether the pair or actually together or not.
(And honestly, I think she did what it wouldn’t have occurred to Link to do: yell at Sidon to put aside his personal feelings and fears and fulfill his damned responsibilities. I think Link would have just accepted Sidon’s actions and tried to solve the problem on his own, as he does. It is Yona who recognizes that it shouldn’t just fall to Link and that Sidon has to take care of his own responsibilities, too, and get out of his head.)
Of course, for the people who want to write Yona and Sidon breaking up the marriage, write Link taking up a leadership role and stepping up as a fellow ruler, whatever... this bit of meta absolutely is not critiquing any of those takes. I’m of the firm mindset that people should write what they want, that fanfiction is amazing for exploring, and if people dislike a certain writer’s takes, they should just leave the fic instead of going “Well, I disagree with what you did here and here’s why.” Hell, even if it’s not with my headcanons or whatever, Sidlink writers are awesome in this fandom and write many solid fics, both with worldbuilding to back up their choice and with fics without the details and background and just happy fluff (and porn). If you like the above takes, awesome! If you prefer for it just to be Sidlink (no Yona bashing, please, though), also awesome. It’s fanfiction. Have fun with it.

A pretty easy exploit found in Tears of the Kingdom allows you to move NPCs around to basically wherever you want using two upside down Zonai carts, and I’ve seen a few people go “on dates” with their favorite characters.
I couldn’t really help myself, and went a little overboard taking a certain NPC as many places as I could today. Spoilers for TotK inbound!
Tumblr media
Out on a date with Purah, when I spot a pretty flower for my pretty flower.
Tumblr media
Purah can get pretty moody on rainy days, so I brought her a gift.
Tumblr media
Purah decided to return the favor and take the both of us out on a romantic trip to a heart shaped pond, and gave me a huge bouquet of flowers. She loved my dress, too. People, get yourself a girl who doesn’t judge you for what outfits you like to wear. And is also willing to peg you in said outfits.
Tumblr media
Bae wanted to visit a few sky temples, and what bae wants, bae gets. One long, romantic flight and we spent the rest of the day exploring the sky borne temple of Time together.
Tumblr media
After a few months of dating, I asked Purah to marry me, and she said yes! We decided to move in together as soon as possible. Here she is on moving day.
Tumblr media
Purah and I went to Gerudo town to shop for rings. I only get the best for my girl, after all.
Tumblr media
Next we went to Kakariko to tell Purah’s family the good news about our engagement. Paya wasn’t very enthusiastic about the news, though. Something about it being a terrible day for rain?
Tumblr media
Here my bestie and future wife finally meet! Sidon was so happy to meet Purah, and can’t wait to go on a double date with us and Yona. He’s thrilled that I want him to be my best man at the wedding.
Tumblr media
And here it is, the happy day! Married in Tarrey town, under the eyes of Hylia in the same spot as Hudson and Rhondson did a few years ago. We are now Mr. And Mrs. Nolastname!
And there you have it, the adventure of Link and Purah. This was a lot of fun to do, and I learned a lot. Like that fans have a ridiculous amount of use time. Takes nearly 30-40 minutes for them to timeout.
You can’t take characters to the depths, they despawn halfway down. That affected a few photoshoots I wanted to do.
And finally, never take your eyes off of your Waifu. Ever. The game will try to despawn any NPC in an area they shouldn’t be, so moving the camera off of Purah even for an instance had the risk of making her disappear in a puff of smoke, meaning wasting half an hour going back to Lookout Landing to pick her up again.

Friends to Lovers Tournament: Round 2, Side A, Match 5
Tumblr media Tumblr media
propaganda under the cut!
Iruclarazz:
LISTEN THEY ARE THE OT3 TO BEAT ALL OTHER OT3's LIKE THEY HOLD SO MUCH POWER!!!
1. THEY ARE SO FUCKING FLUFFY AND COLOURFUL AND PURE AND ADORABLE AND—*chokes on emotions* anyways they're literally the most wholesome and supportive of all ships like i can't even begin to summarize how much they care for each other
2. THEY CANONLY CALL EACH OTHER SOULMATES and even if clara and azz don't understand what a soulmate is (they're demons) they're just happy to be close to iruma.
3. whenever one of them is upset or bothered, the other two form a team and they go ALL OUT to lift the third person's mood!!! they try to solve the problem but if that's not possible, they just stay with that person and try to make them feel better so that they can face their problem with a better mood and more strength
4. they're ALWAYS together. and none of them are bothered by it!! and instead of being toxic about the need to stay close, they establish boundaries! like they have their own secrets they can't tell the others and that's totally fine! no pressure at all in their squad
5. listen these three help each other become better people!! like they bring out the best in each other and it's the most wholesome, encouraging, healthy, lovey dovey ship ever!!! like clara becomes more responsible despite her need for chaos bc she wants to make sure azz and iruma can depend on her! azz stops putting up walls and allows people to approach him because he wants to get involved in the other two's lives! and iruma learns how to set boundaries with these two where he could never say no to anyone!! like if that isn't the most awesome and perfect relationship idk what is!!!
6. one tol and two smols that's all.
THERE IS JUST SO MUCH MORE IN CANON THAT SHOWS HOW AWESOME THESE TRIO ARE AS AN OT3 BUT YEAH IT'S THE MOST BEAUTIFUL POLY SHIP I'VE EVER SEEN IN MANGA!!!
Sidyonk:
They’re absolutely adorable and a very wholesome ship. Sidon knew Link when he was a young Zora, and looked up to/idolized him. After Link was sent to the Shrine of Resurrection and was sealed for 100 years Sidon grew up and became the prince of the Zora. Together he and Link protected the Zora (and Hyrule) and saved the day. Afterwards (7 years later, aka in Tears of the Kingdom) Sidon and his childhood friend Yona were set to be married for Sidon to become King. Yona’s favorite part of the Zora Kingdom? a Statue of Link riding Sidon (memed by the fandom for how suggestive it is), and the Zora quest in tears of the kingdom ends with a marriage with Sidon, Link, and Yona all standing on a balcony overlooking the people of the Zora’s domain, which implies they all get married there as well (Sidon AND Yona both propose to Link on separate occasions too, so they both have attractions towards him!!)

Giving up the Ghost: Chapter 5 (Crowning Achievement)
Sidon is crowned as king. Unfortunately, Link can’t bear the sight of him and Yona together.
AO3 Link
When Sidon and Link returned to the Domain, Dorephan was there waiting for them. It seemed like stopping the mucktorok had both healed him from his injuries and cleaned away all the sludge that had amassed.
Dorephan spoke proudly of both Sidon and Link’s accomplishments, and to everyone’s surprise, told Sidon he was to ascend as king.
“Father…are you certain? This feels so sudden.”
The king looked at him with a gentle smile. “My son, it only feels that way. But in truth, this has been on my mind for quite some time. You showed great strength and leadership facing this threat, and have proven that you’re ready.”
Sidon glanced down in uncertainty. “I…”
“From the bottom of my heart, Sidon, I know you will be a great king.”
He swallowed thickly before looking up at his father. “I will do my best, then.”
The zora surrounding them let out several joyous cheers.
“We shall prepare for the ceremony at once,” Dorephan announced. “Come, there is much to do.”
Before following after the king, Sidon took Link off to the side. “Link, there is something else I must tell you. When I saw the vision of the sage of water, she spoke with someone who looked a great deal like Zelda.”
Link’s eyes widened in shock. What did he say?
“I cannot say for certain if it was truly her, but I felt you needed to know. The zora I spoke to referred to her as the sage of time. Do you think it’s possible Zelda was transported back to that time period?”
Link held a hand to his chin in thought. Was it possible? All he knew for certain was that Zelda had picked up a stone, much like the secret stone Sidon had, and she had vanished in a flash of light. If the stone had properties of time, he supposed that would certainly be a possibility…
‘It’s worth looking into,’ Link responded.
“I hope this information will be helpful to you, Link,” Sidon said with a warm smile.
‘I should get going, then.’
Sidon’s brows furrowed in concern. “Truly? Will you not at least stay for the coronation? I would like nothing more than to have you by my side during the ceremony.”
Link wanted to say no. Every second he stayed in the Domain was painful. But Sidon’s pleading eyes were impossible to deny. So he ended up agreeing to stay.
‘Ok.’
Sidon’s face immediately lit up. “Oh, really? Thank you ever so much, Link!”
-----
The coronation ended up being held the next day. Every single zora stood in the plaza, gazing up at the balcony where their new king stood. Beside him were Yona and Link, each to his right and left.
Sidon approached the railing and the crowd soon hushed.
“My fellow zora!” he called. “I cannot say how grateful I am that I have been given this honor. I promise I will do everything in my power to be worthy of this title.”
He was met with cheers from the audience.
“Beside me is Yona, your future queen!” More cries of joy followed. “And Link, the hero of Hyrule!” Again, the audience roared.
“I would not be where I am today without their support. I ask that you welcome both of them into your hearts, just as I have.”
Yona took a delicate step forward, smiling at the crowd. “The sludge may be gone, but we still have much work to do. Hyrule’s princess is missing, and the Upheaval has hurt many across the land. We must do everything we can to help those around us.”
“Right you are!” Sidon yelled in agreement. “Were it not for Link, we would still be in a precarious situation. We must do all we can to return the favor of his generosity.”
Many in the crowd called out Link’s name, and he immediately turned red in embarrassment.
Sidon took Yona’s hand in his right hand, and Link’s in his left and raised both as high as he could, given Link’s shorter stature. “If we all work together, nothing will stop us!”
Cheers rang out from the audience, applause filling the air.
Sidon released both of their hands then, and after glancing behind himself, he took a knee. A priestess stepped forward then, carefully placing the new crown atop Sidon’s head.
When he rose again, the crowd erupted in joyous sound.
“Thank you, everyone!” Sidon exclaimed. “Thank you for everything!”
The crowd began to dissipate somewhat as the reception came into full swing. Tables sat full of food and a group of musicians began playing melodies that echoed throughout the space.
Link took some time to wander around, filling up a plate of food and chatting with a couple of zora.
He knew Sidon would be a great king. He’d been training so hard ever since he was a child, and no one had a bigger heart than him. Zora’s Domain was in great hands.
For a while, Link was able to enjoy the celebration. It got his mind off of things and allowed him to let loose for a bit.
Unfortunately, it didn’t last long.
Partway through the party, Link spotted Sidon conversing with Yona. He leaned towards her, bending down and gently trailing his hand down her head fin. Yona laughed softly, her eyes full of warmth.
A lump formed in Link’s throat as he stared at the scene.
He couldn’t do this.
Not sparing the couple another glance, he pulled out the Purah Pad and teleported away.
He didn’t say goodbye, but how could he? It was clear he was out of place amongst them. The celebration was for their new rulers, not some nobody who forced his way into their home.
As soon as he landed at a shrine, he immediately held his hands around his body, trying to give himself some comfort.
The ring on his finger pinged for a few moments before Sidon’s avatar appeared beside him. Link took a step backward, taken off guard at seeing his friend’s visage. Sadly, he stared at the ghostly figure, tears welling in his eyes.
He was overcome with mixed feelings upon seeing the avatar. On the one hand, it allowed him to be with Sidon even when they were apart, but on the other, he wasn’t sure he wanted the reminder of his dearest friend, knowing they could never be together.
Despite his reservations, he slowly reached out and grasped the avatar’s hand within his. He ran his thumb across its palm, gazing sadly into its blank eyes.
Turning back in the direction of the Domain, he gazed longingly into the distance.
He couldn’t go back.
It was clear now…he didn’t belong there. Not anymore.
As if he ever did…
A choked sound escaped his throat and tears welled in his eyes.
This was for the best. Sidon could be with the one he loved, and Link would do what he always did. He’d save the day and bring peace to Hyrule. It was all he was good for, after all.
Sniffing, he did his best to wipe his tears.
It was for the best.

Note
I am loving all of your takes on the craptastic disaster that is the TotK storyline. I was just curious, because I haven't seen anyone talk about it AT ALL, if you had any thoughts on the pretty blatant erasure of queer content present in botw. I'm not just talking about the awkward Zora plot that revolved around explaining to the audience how straight Sidon is (though seriously, wtf the whole thing felt surreal and like a last minute addition), but also things like the exclusion of the Gerudo Vai outfit and the specific inclusion of the straight sex Ed class, which was just downright uncomfortable. I know there were more moments but I'm of course going blank right now.
Honestly, I can't even talk about all that. I mean to be fair, this is Nintendo, I expected literally nothing, but I really wasn't prepared for them to be so... actively determined to shoot down queer headcanons?
I don't know if they were trying to, of course (though I'm pretty sure we all know Yona was shoehorned in just to sink SidLink, and for the record I'm very happy that the fandom noticed that and decided to shower Yona with love anyways, 10/10 work guys).
But my thoughts on TOTK's hatred for queer people can't really go anywhere, because it always just circles right back to when I was in Gerudo Town for the first time, and talking to the various people in the shelter. Then one of the kids asked me if I was really a man, to which I had the option to say yes or no. Now Link is many things, but I sure as hell don't see cis as being one of them, so I said no, he's not a man.
And the kids response was "I knew it! All men are liars!"
There is no option to refute this. The conversation then immediately ended with an adult coming to yell at Link... for being a man talking to a little girl. The woman had clearly heard the entire conversation, and also did not believe Link saying he wasn't a man. The game completely and utterly believed that if Link did not want to be called a man, he needed to be mocked and treated with hostile suspicion. Because the only reason he could possibly say that was if he was a man who was lying to try and get closer to the little girls.
I'm agender.
I don't talk to the NPC's in Gerudo Town anymore.
