My favorite thing about every single Belmont in Netflix's Castlevania and Nocturne?
Every single initial appearance radiates sad, pathetic energy.
Trevor's bar fight scene was equal parts hilarious and disheartening. This is the Last Belmont? A legendary clan of Vampire Hunters, reduced to a drunken brawler who gets his nuts kicked in so many times?
Julia Belmont? Bodied by hot, gay Dragon Daddy Olrox while her son watches. He brings the direct Belmont line down to two, and traumatizes the kid so hard he has ED—Enchantment Dysfunction until he becomes an adult.
Richter? Yeah! Literally has to have his first true core memory be his mom be fucking owned by the sexiest god damn bloodsucker in history. Little bro's canon event was to watch his mama be crushed.
Juste? Sure his entrance is cool, but then we realize he's also suffering from ED, he sucks at this whole grandfather thing, his wife and bestie killed, and he could never even confront his own blood over the death of his fucking daughter.
I love the fact that every single Belmont makes the worst first impressions. Regardless of sex or gender or age. They just fucking suck when introduced.

closed starter || sypha belnades + trevor belmont
sypha wasn’t leaving trevor’s side, not as long as she could help it. it was easy, hugging his arm, tucking herself into his side. and he wasn’t going to say anything about it either; she had missed him, and she was very, very pregnant. “i’m staying here and not moving for days. you better not have any plans.” she threatened. “it was so awful. i didn’t remember my people, you, or alucard, or anything about wallachia. and I was pregnant.” she pouted dramatically, huffing into his side.

This makes me incredibly happy to see Alucard back in action and interacting with Richter and Annette. He already sees Trevor in Richter and Annette in Greta because Maria has already filled the spot for Sypha. I don’t think Alucard will ever see them as being replacements for Sypha, Trevor, and Greta but at least he has companionship and he won’t be alone anymore.
Tumblr media
I adore these two and I hope we see Alucard coaching Annette how to deal with a stubborn Belmont because we already know how much of an expert Alucard is already!

Yan! Alucard post season 4 with a targaryen reader and has dragons like daenerys from game of thrones or house of the dragon, how would they meet and interact? Would the first meet when the trio see the dragons flying over the village and think it is a threat or a attack, sorry if I'm ranting I just think the idea has so much potential and I can't write to save my life so I'm passing it to you❤️❤️
A/N: Okay so full disclosure, I’m not the hugest Game of Thrones fan, but I did watch a fair amount of the series (mainly for Khalessi lol, they did her so dirty in the finale!). And sorry for being MIA, just lots of real-life crap I’ve been dealing with.

Yandere Alucard (Post S4) w/ a Targaryen Reader
Tumblr media
When our Targaryen reader first hears of a village founded under a famous monster hunter's name, yet supposedly run by the Alucard operated out of Dracula’s castle, she decides she has to see it for herself.
Much like Trevor Belmont, she is the last of her kind, the bloodline ends with her, and as such, the dragon(s) in her possession are her utmost responsibility. If she cannot find someone worthy of continuing the Targaryen line, then she will have to settle for her family’s legacy existing solely as one more relic in the Belmont hold. Without any remaining relatives to marry to keep her lineage pure, she sets atop her noble dragon steed and sets out for Village Belmont, determined to find a worthy successor, and if not, then at the very least, a worthy grave.
When she first flies over the village, it is a cloudy day; her dragon’s looming shadow initially goes unnoticed. But soon enough her dragon’s large wingspan wafts the gray skies away, leaving her and her majestic beast very little coverage.
At first sight of the beast, villagers cry and scream out, as they mistake her dragon companion for yet another wandering night creature, hellbent on eating their children and pillaging their livestock.
They alert Greta, who arrives on the scene at the same time as Alucard, his heightened vampiric senses having heard the loud thwap, thwap of the dragon’s wingspan long before the villagers could see it.
Greta organizes her troops to gather their weapons- pitchforks, swords, scythes- those sorts of things and stand ready at the entrance to the castle while at the same time, the less athletically inclined villagers are ushered inside to safety.
As the Targaryen descends with her dragon, she gives clear instructions not to harm the humans gathered before her, even though the mob before them has their weapons drawn and ready.
Descending from the sky, our Targaryen reader looks like a goddess, some sort of mythical queen, the elements of both wind and flame at her command. Alucard is immediately drawn to her, her presence, and her power. Although, he is weary of her as well. Too many have come to claim the power vacuum left by his father’s death, and he will not tolerate any vampires or supernatural beings staking a claim on his childhood home, his new village. Even if they are both insanely beautiful and a dragon rider.
Sypha and Trevor make it outside by the time the young woman dismounts. As she does, she raises her hands in surrender.
“I am not here to cause anyone harm. I am here to ask a great favor of the keepers of this Village Belmont.”
The trio approaches her, Greta staying behind, her army of villagers at the ready.
She explains who she is, how special her bloodline is, and how she, the current mother of dragons, is the last of her kind. She speaks mainly to Trevor, as he is the last of the famed Belmonts which angers Alucad greatly, although he doesn't understand why. All he knows is a rather impudent voice inside his head insists that she should be talking to him! Not that stupid Trevor! After all, it’s his castle and his hold, Belmont gifted it to him for safekeeping!
The young Targaryen asks Trevor if he would accept the privilege and the honor of keeping her dragon eggs safe deep within his hold until the time is right for them to be called upon. Of course, Alucard interrupts, saying that while dragon eggs would certainly be a first for the Belmont hold, he should like to examine them, as well as her and her dragon before making any commitments.
There’s a tense moment. Behind her, her dragon’s nostrils flare as it heavily breathes out. It seems she doesn't like to be questioned, and neither does her rider.
Alucard must be careful here. Yes, he’s smart and manipulative as a yandere but we are talking about a Targaryen here. Make no mistake, if he steps out of line enough, or causes her enough harm, he and his whole town will get barbequed. (Despite the threat, this incredible amount of power is one of the things about her Alucard finds the most sexy lol.)
I imagine the group forms a fragile allyship at first. The Targaryen teaches the villagers about her people and dragons. The orphaned children of course fall in love with her dragon, who to their credit, is very patient with them, but also lets them know when to back off with a shake of their large head or a deep growl from within their belly. She wants them to experience some bonding with the creature but she also doesn’t want them to grow too friendly and become complacent when encountering wild beasts outside of the village. Dragons are not to be trifled with, and should they encounter any one of them in the wild they are to react with wisdom, but more importantly fear.
Alucard, of course, watches all of this very interestingly, in awe of the Targaryen reader's fortitude and dedication to her companion and her role as mother of dragons. In watching her interact with the children, he can’t help but feel a swell of pride, and a longing in his heart loins for her to perhaps bear his children so that they can become keepers of dragons too.
He can't stop fantasizing about it, how perfect it would be, how incredible she would look housing their combined legacies. Their offspring would be unstoppable. With his vampiric abilities and her draconic bloodline… Not to mention his mother’s medicinal knowledge and Belmont’s collection knowledge within the Hold… By god, they could form an empire! One for creatures and humans alike, all who wish to live in peace and choose knowledge over ignorance. If only his mother and father could see him now…
Alucard knows though he must tread lightly. The Targaryen reader is smart and cunning. She did not come to be the last of her kind by being naive, no. She’s hardened, and she’s been through a great deal. She will need time to adjust to his affections.
Alucard doesn’t mind though. He has all the time in the world.

This is a detail I really appreciated:
The way they animated Sypha's footwork in these frames is very coordinated and precise. It reminded me a lot of the martial arts classes I used to take. When you compare this scene to some of her previous fight scenes, you can tell how heavily she used to rely on keeping her distance and using her magic to overpower her opponent as opposed to methodically wearing her opponent down and looking for an opening to attack as she's doing here. And this makes sense since she comes from a culture that doesn't fight or carry weaponry. Sypha is mobile when she fights in the first two seasons, but it's nowhere close to how quickly and sharply she moves in the last two seasons.
Tumblr media
Even her use of magic becomes much more creative and controlled as the plot unfolds.
So given the month long gap between the end of Season 2 and the beginning of Season 3, it's a reasonable guess Trevor taught her this. Or at the very least she was clever and observant enough to recreate those movements by watching him (and maybe Alucard too in the brief time they interacted) fight.
Sypha was never a helpless character, but even so, it is cool the series took into consideration that she wasn't raised or formally trained to be a fighter like Trevor and Alucard were and therefore didn't start out as one. As in, she could definitely fight, but she didn't miraculously know a bunch of fighting styles she would have had no way of realistically knowing with her pacifist upbringing.
We got to see the subtle progression of her abilities as she learned and developed more techniques of her own.

Alright I’ve thought about, I’m gonna actually start posting some of my criticisms of Netflixvania starting with the first season. I actually have a notepad document on my computer somewhere that’s just various rants about it that I’m gonna take from lol
Rant under a cut cause it’s long, spoilers, and also cause uh tldr I do not like the show 💀
Ok let’s start from the beginning of the show, episode one.
The first episode isn’t terrible, it’s a bit rocky, some red flags here and there for what was to come, but that’s kinda expected of animations like this. It usually takes them a couple episodes to pick up and grow into their own, so I was skeptical, but not gonna knock it entirely when I first saw it.
My biggest criticism of this episode was the complete missed opportunity to introduce certain characters from this section of the series’s story. Imagine if they had shown Isaac and Hector in the background of the castle or something at this point for foreshadowing later, as they would’ve already been studying under Dracula at that time. Imagine if that old woman Lisa helped ended up being one of Lyudmil’s family members, cementing them as friends of her for later. Alas, Netflix just decided not to use most of the already written backstories for most characters. But eh, that’s getting into nitpick territory.
And then the second episode happens… I honestly genuinely hate the concept of the Speakers and it’s because they completely replace a much more interesting (especially for the tone and themes they were going for) group for Sypha to be a part of: The Church. In the game, Sypha is a witch, something that’s currently not very good to be at this time, however the church employs a bunch of male wizard soldiers. This is already a perfect opportunity set up and ready to go for them to make their points of the church being hypocritical, add some intense dramatic irony with maybe the audience getting to know Sypha is a witch before anyone else does and seeing her interact with a bunch of people who would have her dead if they knew, and create a super conflicted situation where these church soldiers all die during their encounter with the cyclops, but yet they scrapped it for uh random group of magic users that kinda exist entirely for a plot that didn’t need a new device to work. And Sypha just being all hood down and no hiding just takes away something interesting about her character, making her kinda bland in the process. Like it’s one thing to have the Girl™️ who owns the braincell trope and another to have a character with some actual immediate conflicts. They totally could’ve played up the “oh no if Trevor knew would he kill me” dynamic, especially with witches being commonly lumped in with ‘monsters’ in a lot of other media and Trevor being ya know a monster hunter. And already just from this one design choice she completely loses her symbolic putting the hood down scene for much later in the story to show that she actually trusts people and feels safe enough to not need to hide anymore because she’s got people on her side now.
Also the lack of Grant is just a crime in itself. Grant could’ve worked perfectly as like the everyman of the group. Hell, with his background of being a former noble turned thief presumably after hard times to straight up losing his entire hometown to flames and leading a revolution about it, Grant literally has like almost every common not magical vampire hunter person experience. He could’ve given the group any of those perspectives and been told the perspectives of the vampire hunting life he hasn’t had, ya know? And he’d help differentiate the personalities and humors of the group in general. I literally can’t think of a negative to having Grant in the group.
So we were robbed of character development for Sypha and the existence of Grant, what’s next—
The Bishop character is someone that could’ve been interesting if he was written with any kind of nuance, but instead he’s extremely on the nose and blatantly laughably evil. Otherwise this guy is pretty forgettable besides how lame it was that they used Blue Fangs to kill him instead of ya know an actually recognizable enemy. Like the Blue Fangs design wouldn’t be bad if it was in literally anything else, but compared to the designs of most Castlevania monsters it’s just really lame. I’d’ve even accepted a Warg or something, idk. Personally I think having Death walk in taking the form of Zead and going through that speech while eventually turning into the skeleton form we know him as woulda gone hard but for some reason Death isn’t a thing until seasons later which sucks.
I also absolutely hate Alucard and the Cyclops being in the catacombs! Hate it! The Cyclops kinda had like a courtyard area for it and made sense being there since it was standing guard on the way to the castle. Literally what it is even doing in the catacombs 💀💀💀. Standing guard for… eepy Alucard? Why??? And the whole sleeping soldier thing or whatever they called him is just so obviously an excuse to have him appear faster and make it seem like it tied into the plot. Alucard absolutely should not have been introduced to the main group this early on because again that robs him of a bunch of opportunities for background and character development. He got maybe the one oh no dad don’t commit mass death that’s bad scene and nothing else when they had plenty of time to show him initially following his fathers orders and eventually growing to stand against him. And again??? Missed opportunity for anything radio drama related??? Like if there’s any opportunity to get any of that story more known it’s in an animation? And besides, it’s less work to just use whatever materials and supplemental materials already existed for the game!
Dracula’s Curse and CoD have:
Two games
Two manuals
Three manga (TokyoPop and Preorder)
A couple game guides
Flashback sequences in a radio drama
Flashback sequences in SotN AKA: the game everyone knows
A ton of references in later games cause IGA is a big Dracula’s Curse fanboy
Pachinkos
That is plenty of material to make an animation based on, especially because most games don’t get half of that, especially not NES games. They were literally handed like the NES game to adapt lottery and decided not to scratch like half the ticket 💀💀💀.
Alucard also being able to levitate kinda negates a lot of things. Like what the hell is the point of having a bat/mist form and a double jump then? If he can just be flying vampire Jesus immediately or whatever people call him idk. And you can’t tell me Alucard wouldn’t be painfully embarrassed if someone ever saw him shirtless come on this is the guy that wears like 5 layers of clothing in every game he’s in to the point that even in the modern era he’s choosing a suit over casual clothes. Every action he makes in this introduction to him is obviously fanservice for the sake of fanservice with very little thought behind it, except I’m not feeling very served right now. And having Trevor kinda lose that fight is a reoccurring problem this show ends up having: putting down other characters just to make certain ones get the cool fanservice moment. Contrary to what the writers of this show may believe, it actually doesn’t make me go “oh wow, Alucard is so cool and much badas”, it just feels weird and uncomfortable that Trevor is getting cheated out of one of his canon achievements because the writers preferred one character’s tits more than him.
So, basically, the show starts out with missed opportunities, concepts and characters getting cut out, watered down versions of characters that did make it in, cheap fanservice, poor explanations for things, etc etc. this all culminates into a resounding m e h + dread for later seasons being worse (boy was I correct on that fear lol).
Here’s some other things for the first season I didn’t know where else to fit:
None of the humor hit for me at all, like not a single joke. The humor was either a no response at best, but definitely a physically wincing from secondhand embarrassment at worst. Related to this, I feel like most of the dialogue reads like either someone who just learned what swear words are and thinks they’re really cool and funny or genuinely forced. At times most of the characters talk with the same delivery, cadence, personality, etc, it’s really obvious they were all written by the same person or group. And that even goes for background and side characters, too. This is a criticism I’ve never seen said: I really don’t like the voice acting in this show. I’m sure it’s no fault of the voice actors at all, but there were times in this where I either could not hear characters properly or could not understand characters properly and I had to watch it with closed captions on. The clearness and volume of the characters voices varies A LOT even just between scenes sometimes. And that combined with all the characters having really similar speech patterns, there were a lot of times where if I looked away from the screen, I genuinely could not tell if it was Alucard or Trevor speaking cause it sounded like it could reasonably have been either of them (and in some cases it literally didn’t even matter that much which character was saying what). It’s an absolute tragedy that the color schemes in this show are not remotely similar to Dracula’s Curse too. I understand why some color combos wouldn’t make it for eyestrain reasons, but the pixel artwork in all the NES titles is beautiful. Same goes for music, like I am never going to forgive this series for using Bloody Tears for a Dracula’s Curse ‘adaptation’ and not Beginning or Aquarius or Dead Beat or Ghost Ship or Clockwork or— ya know? These are two things that the series are really known for so you’d think with some of the fanservice they did they’d be all kinds of ready to use stuff like that for more of it.
Anyway, past season one is when I started watching the series primarily through clips/episodes reposted on YouTube or elsewhere cause I had completely lost any interest in it. I’ll probably go through synopsises online again for season 2 just to try to better remember what happened in that one because I do remember having very little good to say about season 2 as well and I gotta do that research so I can hate things properly :3.
There’s a certain part of this where I just kinda blanked on things to even say, partially because Season one is kinda bland in general, but partially because I started getting sleepy while typing. So if I feel like I missed anything season one specific I’ll just put it in the beginning of the season two post. d(_ _ )

Arikado gushing about Trevor
The comments:
Tumblr media
I will never understand why some people think Alucard shitting on Trevor is an improvement over Trevor and Alucard respecting each other
I fucking hate this with all my heart ❤️ NFCV fans be like "why do you feel the need to compare the games with the adaptation? Why can't you see it as it's own thing and let people have fun?" and then pull off shit like this.
Why can't NFCV fans keep their NFCV shit to their NFCV spaces? 🤡 Why do they feel the need to go on GAMES spaces and act as if their show could even remotely fit? 🤡 Not to mention... Haha yeah, isn't it so funny that Trevor is a drunk and an idiot? Isn't it so funny that the noble bloodline who have dedicated their lives to protect the same people that fear and reject them, probably because they understand they're scared and weak and don't know any better and just want to survive, are reduced to some rich guys with a leather whip and a collection of books about penises? Isn't it so HILARIOUS that Alucard express no sympathy and no respect for Trevor and his dead family??
The fact those fans see no problem not only with how purely mean and petty N!Alucard is to N!Trevor, but also with making fun of N! Trevor's drinking habit when it's a coping mechanism for his trauma...! I get that the show itself doesn't care about this fact, but for the love of God is it too much to ask fans to think for themselves??? Is it too much to ask them to CARE about how poorly their favorite show handles trauma?? And everything in general?? Do they HAVE to blindly follow the "haha drunk man funny" train??
I am not against the very idea of Trevor being a drunk and having fun banter with Alucard. But that's the thing. Not only Trevor being a drunk is only there for jokes and never truly explored, and he never gets to process or get over his trauma of SEEING HIS HOME AND ENTIRE FAMILY BURN AS A CHILD... But his "funny banter" with Alucard isn't actually funny banter. Alucard is mean, straight up. I mean Trevor says one bad joke about Alucard's parents around a campfire, but next to that, Alucard constantly shits on him and his bloodline!! As if the framing and the very story wasn't doing it enough already!!
The "eat shit and die" "yes fuck you" moment could have been funny... IF THEY FUCKING KNEW EACH OTHER. THEY LITERALLY JUST MET. THEIR ONLY INTERACTIONS SO FAR WAS THEM FIGHTING EACH OTHER. THEM SWEARING AT EACH OTHER AND THEN LAUGHING AFTERWARD ISN'T EARNED, THEY'RE NOT CLOSE ENOUGH FRIENDS FOR THAT AND THEY WILL NEVER BE. NOT WITH N!ALUCARD'S SHITTY ATTITUDE. It's not a fun dynamic to have two manchildren saying fuck yous at each other! It's not a fun dynamic to have one of them insult the other's dead family while the other isn't even allowed to talk back because "oh he has to be the bigger person" according to Sypha!! It's not a fun dynamic to have NO ACTUAL BONDING MOMENT BETWEEN THE MAIN CHARACTERS and instead, have them spend their screentime being assholes to each other, with their mom friend having to be the braincell that keep them in line!!
I hate that Netflixvania felt the need to pretend to be an adaptation of CV3 and CoD(?). That's why we get shit comments like this and shit takes pretending their characters are improvements from the games they know nothing about. At least with Lords of Shadow, it is VERY OBVIOUS that it's an alternate universe. It doesn't pretend to want to change or "improve" anything from the classic timeline, it does it's own thing on it's own little corner, and it's very easy to appreciate it along with the OG timeline thanks to that. Even if it uses familiar names like Trevor and Simon and Sypha, no one with a braincell would even think to compare them to their classic counterparts (at least not in a "this version is better than the other" way), because it's not the same universe.
NFCV isn't like that. NFCV pretends to take place in the classic timeline. NFCV pretends to bring improvements to it. When all it does is destroy. And I'm not saying this just because it changed a lot of stuff. I'm saying this because everyone, Ellis the first one, just HAVE to shit on the games to praise the show. It was intentional for it to be percieved as being "better than the games". 🤡
Anyway game Trevor and Alucard my beloveds I love you and your respectful and wholesome relationship 🥺

Netflix Castlevania is a REAL doozy! Our protagonists, the Belmonts being treated horribly by their so called friends and love interests, but it's always depicted as a joke at their suspence, never being the one to beat the grand big bad or have their most greatest power (The Morningstar whip) being treated as useless, gets paired with the female love interest who doesn't treat him with much respect and is inconsiderate of his feelings and all? Check. They even had one of Dracula's generals go through severe abuse, r*pe, torture, locked in a dungeon, tricked into being magically bound to his female abuser/r*pist, mocked and demeaned in by his female abuser to other vampires, and yet be the one to apologize to HER and fall for HER that he cried when she took herself out when she loses her powers! 3/5
Part 1 part 2 part 3
I have watched castlevania (though it's been a while) so I can definitely add a lot of input here.
I see where you're coming from with the way the narrative treats Trevor Belmont's situation and trauma (I do partially agree here) we are first introduced to Trevor in season 1 episode 2 where he is visibly drunk and gets into a fight due to his family crest. From that whole ordeal in episode 2 we find out a few things:
Trevor is from the Belmont family
The Belmont's don't have a good reputation in Wallachia and were thought to be evil people who dealt with dark magic and evil beings
Trevor is homeless
Trevor is the last son (person) from his family
Tumblr media
So the things we have learnt about Trevor aren't any good and it's already implied that there's a lot surrounding his backstory and trauma in general.
(I do think that season 1 and 2 so handle Trevor's, alucards and Hector's trauma quite well my problem stems at the end of season 2 till season 4)
The later half of season 1 we see that Trevor's social skills are significantly lacking with the way he fails to comfort sypha when she watches her grandfather and the other speakers leaving and from that we are revealed to the fact that Trevor has been travelling on his own for quite a while meaning that he has never actually made a long term human relationship in years and that sypha is his first one in a long time. No we are aware that Trevor does have regular human interactions since he does go to a pub or an inn from time to time but they're incredibly brief and sometimes outright negative interactions at worst and neutral interactions at best. So I think there's a highlight about sypha being his first positive human interaction in quite a while and one where both are experiencing a lot of various emotions together (I did hope that the show might of made a bit of emphasise on Trevor's loneliness and how he was a lone wolf for quite a while)
Tumblr media
Early season 2 we get a lot more information about Trevor and his backstory. We got news that he for one couldn't actually read
Tumblr media
(I don't think he ever learnt to read in later seasons either) and that he lost his home and family when he was 12 or around that age. I do like the fact that there is an emphasis on the fact that everything seems to be a blur to Trevor since he physically can't remember what age he was when all of his family was excommunicated by the church or what age he started to travel alone. The show at least allows for both sypha and alucard to be genuinely shocked by this information and even have alucard make an offer handed comment on how he had a longer and much more stable childhood than Trevor did (I do like this and I think it actually shines a lot on Trevor's past).
I think the whole memory loss thing with Trevor can be linked to two things :
Trevor resorts to alcohol to forget or feel numb about what happend to him as a child
Trevor's brain couldn't physically handle all the trauma so it just blocked it/made him forget it to protect him
Tumblr media
The end of season 2 gives trevor a nice conversation that I personally enjoy and one that actually addresses his behaviour within season 1 and season 2 when sypha asks him to accompany her and travel with her.
I do think that they shouldn't of actually defeated Dracula in season 2 but season 3 ( I wanted more of the trio and honestly I still thought that they were massively under prepared when it came to fighting Dracula). When it comes to Trevor not getting the main spotlight when fighting Dracula that's something I get why and honestly I still do think that alucard should be the the main one to fight and take down his father as it's much more symbolic that way (alucard is Dracula spelt backwards and alucard literally defined himself to be the exact opposite of his father it's something that's a part of him and something that he needed to let go of after the fight)
Tumblr media
However, Trevor does get his time to shine considering that he fought death itself in season 4 and survived!
Tumblr media
I think what bugs me the most is how when it comes to Trevor and his trauma (basically his trauma is very integral to his character it's literally influenced his actions IE drinking a lot and an overall lack of self care or self preservation) the idea of the show using trevor and having sypha and alucard be disgusted at themselves in a way that reminds them of trevor rubs me the wrong way and I can't fully comprehend or articulate why.
I think it's the way the narrative tires to play it as a joke where Trevor ends up being the punching bag maybe that's why it rubs me the wrong way. Maybe it's that because I do think that those moments could be used as a way to have the characters get closer and understand Trevor a lot more and vice versa.
Tumblr media
Now moving onto alucard I think the whole thing he went through with Sumi and taka was unnecessary. I really hated the fact that the writers chose to break up the trio after season 2 and I hoped that we could of seen both Trevor and alucard rebuild their childhood homes together and both of them heal from their trauma while also dealing with the other vampires and hoard left. I think we should of gotten a sypha pov where she is somewhat torn about going back or staying behind with Trevor and alucard (in the end I do think she would go back to the speakers to meet her grandad and then come back to complete the trio)
I think the thing is alucard already had enough trauma there was no need (in my opinion) to add the whole sumi and taka thing + him being so lonely that he literally made dolls of trevor and sypha (that broke me). Like I would of enjoyed if the show took its course focused on alucard processing what happend to both his mother and that fact that he had to kill his dad and he now resides in that exact house with everything still there and fresh. We could of just had alucard grieving and sypha and Trevor there to support him (every single time I remember that sumi and taka may of reminded alucard of Trevor and sypha and that maybe why he let them be so close to him I tweak) there's also the fact that you could have alucard go through a bit of an identity crisis and not knowing how to fit into the vampire world or how to help stop the hoard and what maybe left of Dracula's army.
In the end I dont know I just think the whole sumi and taka thing + Trevor and sypha leaving him behind was unnecessary and unfavourable. This is more so especially after season 4 proceeds to introduce Greta and somewhat not fully explore all of the trauma alucard receives due to the whole SA situation with Sumi and taka. Sure I think it would be interesting for the show to have alucard be incredibly hesitant of trusting Greta but having alucard silently yearn for trustful and valuable human contact and interaction.

However, I do like the way the show went about exploring the trauma alucard had in season 1 and season 2 with sypha being the one to make a lot of the connections and even having the show display alucarda conflicted feeling about his mothers death and his fathers rage thay got him injured.
(like I said I haven't watched castlevania in a while so there maybe some mistakes but this is my take on all of this)

TREVOR BELMONT, SYPHA BELNADES, and ALUCARD from CASTLEVANIA
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Justification:
"well, there's the obvious fact that alucard was/is in love with trevor and sypha (sumi and taka being weird stand-ins, bc the writers are cowards) and that while after sypha and trevor leave, alucard is sad, dejected and missing them so much that he makes DOLLS of them to talk to - but the lesser looked after is the glaringly obvious gap in the sypha and trevor dynamic as they travel alone together without alucard. it's strange and shifted with an obvious lack of softness that alucard would bring to the relationship, a softness they both brought out in him that simply doesn't live up to any changes in his personality we see as he interacts with his love interests. plus I think it would be a power couple for the ages" - Anonymous

I have two major criticisms for the first season of Nocturne.
The pacing and the villains.
In the original series, Seasons 1 & 2 are basically just one whole season in and of themselves. It is a focused narrative that doesn't spend a single moment wasting plot or character development.
Whenever the episodes decide to slow down, it feels deliberate. The down times in the first two seasons were rich with character interaction that helped attachments grow and allow the plot to flourish organically.
The best examples of this are when we explore Isaac and Hector's pasts; and when Trevor, Alucard and Sypha arrive at the Belmont hold. There was a rhythm to the seasons. Dialogue, conversations, contest of philosophies, witty banter, and hard truths. Then we transition smoothly to excellently animated and choreographed fight scenes that have weight because we saw these characters humanized in various ways beforehand.
For the villains, Dracula was impeccable. Weak. Starving. Exhausted. Suicidal. His grief and his hatred loomed like a shadow over every single character and plotline throughout the two seasons, and the effects of his demise echoed until the very end.
Castlevania had its flaws. It had its weaknesses. Especially when it was cut to four seasons when it really should have been five. But it was nevertheless a focused narrative.
Nocturne, for all its excellence, does have some glaring flaws that are hard to overlook.
Erzsebet feels threatening and powerful, but the more I watched the show, the more it felt like these were because of purely aesthetic reasons. Don't get me wrong—her design is gorgeous, her past seems rich with potential for the narrative, and I loved how she struck the fear of god in every hero the moment she stepped into the Abbey. But she isn't Dracula-levels of impactful.
Olrox and Drolta did most of the heavy lifting. In the first Castlevania, even when Dracula wasn't the main arc villain, his presence was felt. Erzsebet doesn't have that same weight. She feels... empty at times, as a villain.
That can definitely be fixed in season 2 and I pray that the showrunners prove me wrong. I love being proven wrong because that means the show continues to grow.
The second criticism is pacing. God, the pacing.
Nocturne at times felt all over the place.
Annette's plot of her escaping the clutches of slavery? The way we saw her perspective on the Haitian Revolution? So fucking good. Richter's struggles? Emotionally rich and hooks us immediately. It's the constant, almost dizzying shifts between them, the Abbey, Drolta, Edouard, and the past that drags it down just a bit.
I loved Nocturne. A solid 8/10 for me and I am dying in the dirt waiting for the next season.
But I think the show should've been 10 episodes to accommodate the ensemble cast and their varying plots, and I hope that Erzsebet is improved upon as a villain, a threat, and a character.

closed starter || sypha belnades and trevor belmont
“trevor belmont, i swear i will kill you myself if you make me worry like this again.” sypha wanted to be angry, but anger gave was to relief as she saw her partner revive despite his injuries. tear fell from her cheek to his as she kissed his forehead, than his lips. “when will you learn to stop getting yourself into so much trouble?” she asked, gently cupping his handsome face.

Looking back, castlevania was a crazy series because it's almost like a Phineas and Ferb series. Sure the a plot qnd the b plot have more in common that Phineas and Ferb do with perry and Dr doofenshmirtz stories, but on a whole they're super similar plot wise because there's basically 2 stories that just don't interact with each other.
One story is trevor sypha and Alucard who have their own little adventures. The other is Issac and Hector, draculas council (mostlyjust godbrand), and carmilla and her sisters. They sometimes interact because they occupy the same basic space and world on a large scale, but for the most part they're 2 different stories.
I don't think trevor and sypha even see much less meet Issac and Hector. I don't think any of the good guys ever find out about carmillas attempt at a vampire empire. I don't think Issac and Hector ever find out about death and draculas return to earth despite Issac talking to Varney.
Even in the climax of season 2 when the characters are in the same area there's no real interactions between the two groups. The good guys slaughter the vampire lords, but not godbrand who Issac killed or carmilla who was left behind at braelia with Hector. The one interaction is Alucard throwing his sword at Issac then, Issac gets sent away and they deal with dracula.
Seasons3 and 4 are just 2 separate plots with barely any interaction between them. There's no storyline where the two plots come together at the end, they just stay separate. They could have been 2 completely different, If still in the same universe, shows

Hello! Do you plan to expand your idea of half-sister Trevor further? And also, what would happen if Trevor found out about a secret relationship between his half-sister and Alucard, since as said, he is possessive of her and doesn't even let her interact with others, so they decided to have their secret relationship?
A/N: Oooh, yes, that’s a great question Nonnie.
For those of you who need a refresher, here’s the series tag: ‘platonic yandere trevor belmont long lost sister’. Or feel free to click through the Parts/Additions below:

Platonic! Yandere! Trevor Belmont x Long Lost Belmont Sister Part Two
Tumblr media
In this scenario, Trevor is extremely protective. He doesn’t want his half-sister to be with anyone really, and if she must, they need to be someone he approves of. After all, she does bear the responsibility of carrying on the Belmont line. Of course, being only half-Belmont (and a woman at that), her children won’t be full-blooded Belmonts, and they’d pale in comparison to his and Sypha’s children, but it would be wise to keep widening those unruly branches of the Belmont family tree.
After a year or so of acclimation, Trevor is a little less guarded when it comes to his reunited sister. I say “a little”, because while he does condone her socializing with the villagers, he makes it clear that if anything is to happen to her, he’s to be told at once. All the single men of the village respect Trevor’s pronounced ownership of her. All except for one, that is.
Alucard, having the wisdom of an adult, but the body of a teenager, refuses to give in Trevor’s ridiculous reporting policies concerning his sister. So what, if Alucard spends time with her alone in the castle? So, what if he shares with her his late Mother’s work? What good is it to Trevor for him to know about it?
In truth, Alucard could not have picked a better time to ignore the warnings of his older friend. With the new baby, and new of yet another one on its way, Trevor’s been pulled in one hundred different directions, none of them leading to insight into his sister’s whereabouts.
This does, however, blossom into a problem (as do most things in Alucard’s life), when the dhampir learns that Trevor has been interviewing (ahem, interrogating) the eligible men of the village, working to secure a marital match for his younger sister.
Born out of admiration for her regard for listening to him speak about his late parents, or perhaps born out of pure stubbornness, of this, Alucard could not be certain, the son of Dracula finds himself having fallen for the younger Belmont.
This, of course, presented two problems: 1) Namely, that Trevor did not know of their secret friendship, much less the courting, and 2) Even if Trevor was made aware, Alucard doubted the older Belmont would ever approve of his little sister marrying the same kind of creature his family had sworn to kill. Oh and 3) The fact that Alucard’s very ability to reproduce was up for discussion only made contentions worse.
Fighting is not foreign to either Trevor or Alucard, hell, in-fighting amongst the two of them isn’t either. But this time, it’s more serious; this time it’s personal beyond teasing jabs apropos of each other’s ancestry.
In the past, fights between Alucard and Trevor only ended when the younger Belmont dared to run between them, begging them, usually with tears in their eyes, to “Stop this madness, before it’s too late!” Thankfully for Alucard, Trevor had by then developed a newfound difficulty in saying ‘No’ to his baby sister.
Alucard knows he’d have to go about this smartly, to ease Trevor into the idea. But it’s not so simple a task when his back is already against a wall and the hourglass is rapidly running out of sand.
When Trevor does eventually find out, he becomes enraged. (Not surprising for her overall character per se, but compared to recent more relaxed behavior, it sends everyone running for the hills.) Smartly, Trevor’s baby sister grabs Alucard and rushes him away, stashing him in Trevor and Sypha’s nursery, knowing that as mad as Trevor gets, he could never bring himself to hurt his children.
So, Trevor takes his frustration out on his younger sister, challenging her to spar, although they do more yelling than fist-fighting. Thanks to all the hard-wrought training she’s endured, she manages to hold her own, especially with Trevor being emotional and distracted.
In the end, it is his baby sister’s declaration of “I love him!” that gives Trevor pause. As protective and possessive as Trevor is of his previously long-lost sister, he knows he can’t keep her alone forever. As she ages, she is going to crave companionship, it’s in her biology.
Trevor agrees to relent- for now. In fairness, he’s since agreed to have Speaker Magician blood infused into his Belmont legacy… What’s a little dhampir blood when all is said and done?
Of course, he informs his sister as well as Alucard (after giving the dhampir the threat of a lifetime), this means he expects them to have Belmont children, and raise them as Belmonts, not as mini-Draculas' or whatever the fuck. And he proclaims even further, that in the event his sister and Alucard cannot have children, he will choose another suitor for her.
After all, at the end of the day, the Belmont Legacy is all that matters.

A/N 2.0: Woof, what a start to the new year, huh? I’m working more and trying to put more original writing first, so I apologize for my lack of presence here. Be assured, I am not leaving, and I am still interested in fanfiction/imagine writing! It’s just going to be less frequent than it was before. I’m also thinking about opening commissions, but I have more logistics to figure out first. I’ll keep ya posted!

This was the only time in the show where one of the main trio interacted with one of the forge master duo.
And, I gotta admit, this was one of the things that disappointed me in the show.  As much as I love this series, I do wish these two storylines had converged in the end.
Like I really thought there would come a point when the vampire sisters invaded Wallachia and Sypha and Trevor would encounter Hector and realize he was an unwilling participant.  Similar to the scene we got with Isaac, Hector would say he couldn’t help them because of the blood ring restraining him.  And with all the fighting they’d been through and Trevor just being straight up done with everyone and their mother, I think he would have just handed Hector a knife and said, “You have two options.  You’re either our ally or our enemy.  Cut that ring off and help us or I’ll kill you.  What’ll it be?”  Harsh perhaps, but a big part of Trevor’s character is ‘do what’s necessary’ no matter the personal cost, so I don’t imagine he would have had much patience for Hector.  And that’s a difference between Trevor and Hector’s characters that I really need to go into in a separate character analysis.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This was my outlook when Season 3 ended though.  We did leave off with the return of Trevor’s dark view of the world in spite of the positive influence Sypha brought, and Hector realizing the consequences of trusting Lenore.  The series played Season 4 off pretty well in that Hector did have initiative was actively conspiring behind the scenes in order to give Isaac the opening he needed to take out Carmilla.  So I’m glad they didn’t write Hector off as ‘the helpless one.’
On another couple of notes, I kinda thought/hoped Sypha’s grandfather would make a reappearance in the final season and he would be the one to finish what the Ship Captain started in guiding Isaac along his journey of letting go of his anger and just living well, but that’s just me.
Back in Season 2, Isaac refers to Alucard as a spoiled child, and I really want to know what that was all about.  In the battle against the Generals and the Styrian soldiers, Isaac and Alucard seem to recognize each other, but did they have any interaction with each other before Lisa died?  Maybe I’m wrong and Isaac just thought, ‘There’s only one person that could be.’  I’ve talked about my theory that Alucard was a sheltered child and hadn’t seen much hardship in his life before his mother was killed, so I can see him and Isaac resenting each other out of emotional immaturity.  It would have been interesting to see that development in their characters.
But I get it.  The show only had a limited number of episodes and didn’t have time for all the tiny nuanced story arcs, and that’s fine.  An important element of writing is being aware of which parts are the essential and which are ones you need to cut.  If it were a longer running series like Avatar: The Last Airbender, then I would expect some more attention and care put into the subplots and side characters.  It’s a little touch and go with Striga and Morana’s relationship, Zamfir’s backstory wasn’t as developed as it could have been, and there are other elements that felt rushed.
Even so, I truly think the end result was fantastic.
