Deer-Crocodile Composite Creature (Astrological Sign of Capricorn)
c. 1810-20
Made in India (Kangra, Himachal Pradesh)
Opaque watercolor on paper
On display at Philadelphia Museum of Art 2010-1/6-1
“This Indian composite creature, which combines the head and front legs of a blackbuck (also known as the Indian ante-lope) with the torso and back legs of a crocodile and the tail of a fish, represents Capricorn, the tenth sign of the zodiac corresponding to December-January.
The astrological sign of Capricorn is sometimes depicted as a half-goat, half-fish creature originating from Greek myth but this particular image derives from the makara, a legendary creature in Hindu mythology.“

You are what your deepest desire is.
As is your desire, so is your intention.
As is your intention, so is your will.
As is your will, so is your deed.
As is your deed, so is your destiny.’
--Upanishads
THE SYMBOLISM, MYTH AND ARCHETYPE
The symbol or glyph for Capricorn is seen as the head and horns of a goat. On a more esoteric level, however, Capricorn has been associated with the 'sea goat': half goat, half fish; what a fascinating creature! It is considered that the sea-goat alchemises the water that it emerges from into earthly matter. It then symbolically initiates new levels of consciousness.
The mythology and symbology of a goat-fish span many religions and cultures. It has been associated with the Tree of Life, the Wheel of Rebirth, creative life energy, and the earthy fertile aspect of nature. Equally, as associated with Capricorn energy we associate it with today, the mountain goat strives to climb to the top of a mountain.
THE ARCHETYPAL KING
Capricorn is the third and final of the zodiacs earth signs. All three of the earth signs are here to work in the material realms, and for Capricorn, it is all about manifesting results in the world. At its best they are here to organise and structure the world around them, to keep things under control.
Capricorn has been associated with the keywords 'I use'. Ideally, we would like to think this means Capricorn can consciously use the key skill sets of the signs that come before them and integrate them all to generate worldly results, the kinds of people we would ideally like as our politicians and corporate leaders. Unfortunately, this is not always the case, and there has been an association of Capricorn energy 'using' people and things as they climb up the ladder to success, without consideration of others feelings or needs. A shadow side of Capricorn is controlling people and circumstances around them to use it for their agenda.
When Capricorn can find balance, they are the masters in offering the world the results of their hard work. In professional and business spheres, their drive and ability create structures and systems we all rely on daily. When they can tap into their feelings and the feelings of others, they are one of the most holistic and practical signs in the zodiac.

Finally! It's time to reveal the artwork that I made for the @yoi-stardust-zine. I present to you this Victuuri representing their birth zodiac signs!
Final sales are open until November 5th!
This zine is one of the most beautiful ones I've had the pleasure to participate in (I did some merch as well, I'll show you that later). So run and get your copy, it is an absolute delight!
Just as all the participants, I put a lot of love into this piece, and I want to show you the references I used for it ❤️
Let's start with Yuuri. His birthday is on 11/29, so he's Sagittarius, The Archer (a centaur!)♐️ For him, I used the traditional clothes of Yabusame, a type of Japanese mounted archery!)

Now let's get to Victor. His birthday is on 12/25, so he's a Capricornus ♑️, which is represented as a sea goat: a mythical creature that is half goat, half fish. So I turned him into a horned merman, and his clothes and jewels are based on the regalia of the old russian empire 👑.

I am really happy with the result, and I assure you, everyone elses pieces are just as cool, if not more!
Go get your copy!

Ceres in Capricorn ♑️
On February 27, 2024 Ceres made a transit from the mutable fire sign of Sagittarius into the half-goat , half-fish, Cardinal earth sign of Capricorn ♑️!
Capricorn being an earth sign and Ceres archetype is of the great mother, ultimate nuturer and also the goddess of agriculture and harvest! The Roman goddess Ceres is also known as the Greek goddess Demeter & she is Persephone's mother. Their story is quite archaic, enchanting, haunting, traumatic, poetic, loving, fierce, & sad; but their story can grasp the everyday person in one of its many versions whether through a short story, a book, or even a movie.
There are truly a number of different versions to their story. No matter which one is told most people(particularly women or the males that doesn't mind sharing their feminine side) can relate to. These different versions have been changed up over the thousands of years to further fit modern day times and way for you to connect and resonate on deeper level with them. I did write up a short blog on Persephone a month or so ago with information including Ceres(Demeter)& was planning a follow up for a full story on the myths of Ceres and all her astrological rulerships.
When I suddenly realized today that she had moved into Capricorn 3 days ago and is already sitting in Cap at 7°57'. So I'll post the link in the comments for the Persephone article and if your interested in reading it you have access to it without scrolling through my entire page! I will finish up the goddess of agriculture's mythology piece this month, so this article is just going to focus on her in Capricorn and what she means for the collective and even for your personal natal chart.
Ceres is associated with 3 zodiac signs; Virgo, Cancer, and the Taurus-Scorpio polarity axis. I do love the connection to the ♉️♏️ polarity, but I equate Persephone to be connected more to that being the queen of the underworld and goddess of spring. But don't get me wrong, Ceres also most definitely has a strong connection to those 2 signs as well, being so connected to our mother earth and the Eleusinian Mysteries(or Rites), being connected to the Hierophant tarot card, and her adversary being Pluto who made her turn dark when her daughter had been stolen from her.
The sign of Cancer being the ruler of the Moon and one of Cancer's archetype is the great mother and she deeply loved and nurtured her daughter Persephone so you can clearly see a connection to Cancer ♋️. As for Virgo and the symbol of the triple moon goddess you have the virgin, which is Persephone, Ceres as the mother (maiden), and Hecate the crone. So you can see how she absolutely fits all three of these rulerships. Knowing the archetypes of the planets and signs is something that absolutely needs to be learned especially if you want to fully understand astrology. So let's get on with this if you haven't already skipped to the end or scrolled on by yet. If you've made it this far thank you for sticking around!
☆Ceres in Capricorn - Ascension of the architect!
Ceres in the cardinal earth sign of Capricorn ♑️ brings opportunities of strategic thinking and responsible leadership! Moving into spring with Ceres in Capricorn will help bring energy to your green thumb and if you feel you lack that I urge you to look more into your Ceres placement and aspects! She truly does send out a great energy if you're looking to start a garden or learn how cook.
Being that Capricorn doesn't care to show their emotions and Ceres being the all time super nuturer of all life on earth, she may energetically make you feel emotionally vulnerable by being in Capricorn. So a goal with Ceres in Capricorn is to make yourself emotionally available no matter how uncomfortable it feels. Same goes for trying out that garden when you feel like you're the type of person that could kill a fake plant. You need to seize control and have faith in yourself that you can grow those plants, just like you show your feelings towards someone or something even though you're feeling it's too awkward.
Ask Ceres for the help, she'll give you the answers. The path forward is never easy but once you've stepped out of that comfort zone the more adaptable you'll become.
Ceres in Capricorn envelops you in a steadfast, resolute embrace. With the heart of a master builder, your journey becomes one of discipline, perseverance, and the unwavering pursuit of your ambitions. Like the majestic goat, you navigate the rugged terrain with grace and determination. Embrace the transformative power of dedication and resilience as you embark on this quest with Ceres in Capricorn.
Allow the heights of your own ambition to guide you through the awe-inspiring tapestry of self-discovery, trusting in your innate ability to triumph over challenges. Honor Capricorn's indomitable spirit by nurturing your inner architect and setting your sights on your loftiest goals. Craft a blueprint for success, breaking your aspirations into manageable steps, and celebrate each milestone along the way. By building a foundation of integrity, your steadfast resolve will inspire others to follow in your footsteps.
Reflect on how you can translate the mountainous climb towards your dreams into a journey of self-transformation and personal growth. What strategies can you employ to stay disciplined, persevere, and maintain unwavering focus on your ambitions? How will your achievements inspire and uplift others along the way?
What sign and house is your Ceres in? Do you have any aspects to your natal Ceres? Comment below!
This post will also be followed up with Ceres thru the houses and signs as well as her astrological rulerships, indicators, and significators.
I would love to see more astrology lovers following Ceres, Juno, Eros, Eris, White Moon Selene, Vesta, Psyche, Abundantia, Cupido, Armor, and the list can go on and on... A lot of these asteroids are changing signs this year so start brushing up on them now! I'll do my best to keep you updated as they transit! Thanks for reading!!

Zodiac Signs - Symbols
Welcome to Zodiac Sign - Symbols. A quick in-depth session on why the zodiac signs' symbols are the way that they are, what they mean, and what they represent.
The symbols are here to represent the twelve signs so you can recognize them without their names being present. It's all for quick recognition. Some people get lost though- and that ok. So we're gonna do a quick walk through all twelve, and look at what they mean.
Aries
To begin with we have the start of the zodiac- our buddy Aries. Their glyph depicts the horns of The Ram. Which is their title and constellation. Just like Aries- this is a very straightforward symbol.
Taurus
Taurus, it's very clear that this depicts the horns and head of The Bull. Fairly simple still right? This helps to represent their constellations as well, The bull.
I'm sensing a bit of a pattern
Gemini
Now here's something new. Gemini's glyph depicts a few straight lines, followed by two curved lines blocking them. This can be interpreted as a door. Gemini is known as a great communicator, and a doorway helps to communicate that idea. It's also a representation of Geminis' duality by being the roman numeral two, and because it's a mirror image- it helps to depict the twins.
Cancer
The glyph of cancer is also very interesting. It can represent three different things: the crabs claws, a woman's breasts, and finally the moon and the ocean themselves. Cancer is ruled by the moon which is known for femininity, hence the reference to the moon and ocean (it's a water sign too) and to women in general.
Leo
Their symbol is interesting cause- it kinda seems out of left field for the animal signs. The others are pretty apparent so far- but for Leo, it seems to melt into the background. The circle followed by the long curved line can depict the Lion's head, flowing back to their mane, and finally their tail. It can also represent the heart, showing the two seperate valves within it.
Virgo
There's a few interpretations of the glyph for Virgo. For example, the closed loop has two ends coming off of it, one showing the end of the M, the other looping back around to the front. This can go to show that everything that goes around comes back around, that certain paths have multiple paths, or it can represent chastity by the loop being closed for the maiden.
Libra
Another fairly interesting glyph comes with Libra. Not only is it perfectly balanced and shaped like a scale. But it also is akin to a setting sun or rising sun. Finding not only its duality, but calling to the fact that the sun enters Libra on the Autumnal equinox when day and night are in equal halves.
Scorpio
Like Virgo, Scorpio is also shaped like an M. However, it differs in the way that it does not have a closed loop, and instead has a point on its end. This can help to call to the fact that like the scorpion it represent Scorpio also has a sharp side. Unlike Virgo, which represent chastity, Scorpio represents the sexual side of health so this can be a call to their inherently more passionate nature in that regard. Scorpio's are also fixed signs, and showing the line going outward can show a singular train of thought.
Sagittarius
Sagittarius the archer, is represented by an arrow. This one is quite literal. Though the cross of matter in the lower line could be indicative of the bow or of something pulling the arrow back before loosing the arrow. This helps to point to Sagittarius' nature to travel and widen their horizons.
Capricorn
The Capricorn symbol is certainly an interesting one. It takes on the shape of an N, with a large loop-da-loop. The way that it's often interpreted is the beginning of the N is the front half of a goat, with the loop being considered the fish tail that the symbol for Capricorn has. The circle itself is also thought of the spirit that Capricorn has (similar to Virgo), and that is the drive that pushes the Capricorn further
Aquarius
The symbol for Aquarius is clearly two water waves. Which is interesting considering the fact that Aquarius is an air sign. Aquarius is the water bearer, and this means that they pour the water. They can also be seen as radio waves, I've also seen sound waves as a possibly view for them as well. The two lines can also represent their duality as they are one of the only signs that has a traditional and modern planetary ruler. The lower line showing their connection to Saturn and being grounded in the formulation of ideas, with the upper line being Uranus showing free flow of thought and innovative nature.
Pisces
Finally, the Fish- Pisces is represented by what seems like an H. This is supposed to helpo to represent their constellation of having two fish tied together. It, like Aquarius, shows off it's duality in this glyph as well. The traditional ruler being Jupiter, showing Pisces way of growth and idealism. The other representing Neptune which brings on Pisces dreamy, and artistic nature.
Wrap Up: Zodiac Signs - Symbols
There you have it, all twelve symbols for the Zodiac. When it comes to the Zodiac signs symbols, they are all unique in their own way, and understanding this part of them is an important part of understanding what each sign represents on the base level.
Stay groovy, and I'll see you on the flip,

CAPRICORN (December22- January 19)
smart ~ hardworking ~ ambitious
Capricorn, (from Latin: “Goat-Horned”) also called Capricornus and the Goat, in astrology, the 10th sign of the zodiac, considered as governing the period from about December 22 to about January 19. One explanation of the fishtail with which the goat is often represented is found in the Greek myth of Pan, who, to avoid the monster Typhon, jumped into the water just as he was changing into animal shape. The half above water assumed the shape of a goat while the lower half, the tail, assumed the shape of a fish.

In astronomy, Capricornus is a zodiacal constellation lying in the southern sky between Aquarius and Sagittarius, at about 21 hours right ascension and 20° south declination. Its stars are faint; Deneb Algedi (Arabic for “kid’s tail”) is the brightest star, with a magnitude of 2.9. Capricornus usually refers to the constellation, and Capricorn usually refers to the astrological sign.
Astrological signs and it’s traits
Tarot card - Two of Sword

Capricorn, you are standing at a crossroads, and it looks as though you might be making this much more complicated than it needs to be. If you find yourself wishing for a certain outcome in this coin toss that is life, you'll benefit from taking steps (big or small) in the direction you are hoping for.
Planet- Saturn

Saturn transiting through the sign of Capricorn is a time to ground yourself and focus on your long-term goals. You will have to work hard to achieve your goals during this period. Saturn teaches you that success comes from perseverance and consistency, not luck or quick fixes.
“Capricorns are the ultimate worker bees: ambitious organized. practical. goal-oriented. and they don t mind the hustle. They re ready to give up a lot in order to achieve that goal.”
Ambitious, hardworking, and enterprising is one side of the sign. The Capricorn natives are extremely driven, enthusiastic about life, and capable of setting lofty but attainable objectives. The Capricorn natives on the other hand are lost in a world of actual or perceived barriers to achievement.

Consent is sexy and all that. Gotta love mama, who is your mom? The last name Dunn sounds familiar. I haven't, but I do have Google, gumption, and a blind belief in myself to succeed. I can't tell if you're joking or not 'cause you said ram then sheep, but I also might just be high. But no zodiac sign is a sheep. Aries is the ram, and Capricorns are goats. Sea goats, half goat, half fish like a mergoat.
I've never met a person I haven't considered biting, but I'm better at waiting for them to ask for that these days. She is not. She's at a stable nearby, mama had connections. Oh my goat wouldn't fit in my room either and not just because I think my roommate would have a heart attack. Have you ever taken care of a goat? Also, Capricorn is a ram, not a goat. Very different, goats and sheep.

The Evermore Grimoire: Astrology
Capricorn (December 22nd - January 19th) is the tenth astrological sign in the zodiac, originating from the constellation of Capricornus, the goat. Traits associated with Capricorn include being smart, hardworking, and fully in control of their destiny, including always getting what they set their mind to, in both their personal and professional life. They may get a reputation as being stubborn, but they simply know what they want, and also know how they wish other people would behave. However Capricorn’s are loyal friends and have a funny and sly sense of humour once you get to know them. They’re also a true partner who is laser-focused on helping their partner find success and happiness. A Capricorn will dive into a relationship like a job, and believes that hard work can help make a bond as strong as possible.

Hi, when you say that Capricorn is the fishy goat, do you mean that they act like a water placement?
No, I mean Capricorn are the Fishy - Goet because of their symbolism. Capricorn is symbolized in Astrology as half Goat and half Fish because they have tail . So i came up with t fishy -goat bc I it sounds funny. It’s just for entertainment purposes. I feel sometimes tired always using the same zodiac signs pronunciation.
#ramm, bull, twins, crab, lion, virgin, scale, Scorpio, half human half, horse, fish goat, water man, and the actual FISH

Thx 😊

Everything You Need to Know About the Capricorn Personality Traits and Love Compatibility

Capricorn is quite possibly the best sign, and individuals with this zodiac sign will generally be exceptionally interesting. Capricorn is symbolized by the goat and is the tenth sign of the zodiac. Capricorn traits are special, and individuals brought into the world under this sign are ambitious, focused, sensitive, and profound.
Capricorn's symbolic goat was historically a half-goat and a half-fish. The Capricorn native personality reflects this confounded double nature. They have two distinct personalities. Ambitious, diligent, and enterprising is one side of the sign. Capricorn natives are very determined, enthusiastic about existence, and fit for setting grandiose, yet feasible, objectives. The Capricorn natives, then again, are lost in a universe of real or imagined barriers to accomplishment. Capricorn natives every so often miss the mark on their drive to act and face their challenges. Indeed, even the most prosperous Capricorn natives have a propensity for crying and griping about fictitious difficulties.
Capricorns tend to keep small circles, but they are loyal and supportive of their friends and family. They love making secure, luxurious nests and living an agreeable, fortunate lifestyle. Living well means a lot to them. Capricorns are conceived as shrewd; they get what really matters to others, and they are self-mindful of their own needs and traits as well.
Personality Traits of Capricorn Zodiac
Hardworking
Individuals brought into the world under this sign are considered ambitious, determined, serious about their work, and dedicated. They strive hard to accomplish their goals and work persistently to finish tasks such as taking care of assignments, work projects, etc. Perhaps one of the best things about Capricorns is that they investigate every possibility of accomplishing a task.
Not entirely settled to show others what's really under the surface. Furthermore, can we just be real, somewhat obsessed with status and the trappings of success?
Loyal
In the event that there is one uprightness that can make a person alluring, that is loyalty, and Capricorns are perfect with that. Their tendencies are authentic and unadulterated. One can always depend on a Capricorn when out of luck, and they will always give their best to help somebody out. They are loyal individuals who cherish their friends and friends and family a great deal.
Realistic
There are clear-eyed, discerning, practical, and experienced characters. Their feet are so established on the ground that sometimes their look tips downwards, and they'll focus on the negatives instead of the possibilities.
Capricorns aren't interested in fantasies or making up new worlds, but rather in making things better in the real world. They're always smart and natural about how things work, and they'll jump at the chance to reach out and just do it.
Less Sentimental
Capricorns, for the most part, love individuals, and they profoundly esteem their loved ones. In any case, they are also known for their exceptionally useful nature, which makes them wear a mask, never allowing their emotions to oversee their decisions. Sometimes, they need to enjoy some time off from everybody and everything in their life. This is the reason you could feel some Capricorns are sincerely cold and distant.
Sense of Humor
Who really prefers not to spend time with individuals who are clever and have an extraordinary sense of humor, isn't it? Capricorns are known for their sharp minds and sharp sense of humor. But be careful! Try not to hurt them, or maybe their high intelligence level can make jokes loaded with sarcasm.
Materialistic
One of the most well-known Capricorn traits is that they are known to be somewhat materialistic and boast about themselves when they make progress. In any case, they also assume complete ownership of some unacceptable decisions they make, never accusing others.
Stubborn
Have you at any point succeeded in changing the brain of a Capricorn? It is an impossible task since the Saturn-fueled Capricorns are by and large stubborn. They could do without to change their beliefs for anybody and do things the manner in which they need, regardless.
Capricorn’s Most and Least Compatible Signs
Best Matches for Capricorn
Cancer With respect to similarity, Pisces and Capricorn are more viable than Cancer. Capricorn and Cancer are ideal partners since they are opposite signs.
Day to-day life is shaped by the archetypes that these opposite pairs represent. Also, some opposite-pair combinations work better compared to others.
Scorpio There are numerous similarities between Scorpio and Capricorn. They will quite often focus on business over pleasure and dislike small talk. Scorpio and Capricorn are definitely carbon copies from the outside.
They are really on top of each other at this level. These two are also very viable in a heartfelt or personal relationship. Scorpio is an intensely passionate sign but can be overwhelmed by emotions. Capricorn is fit for softening Scorpio, and Scorpio is fit for stabilizing Scorpio.
Taurus Taurus and Capricorn complete one another well overall. They are both pragmatic and practical. Their material prosperity is a main concern for both Earth Signs. There is also little clash between them since they understand each other instinctively.
Their similarities are offset by a couple of key differences. This allows them to supplement and adjust each other.
Worst Matches for Capricorn
Aries Fights for control are common among Capricorns and Aries, as well as Leos and Capricorns. Nonetheless, not at all like Leo, Capricorn finds Aries appealing.
The aspect between Capricorn and Aries is known as a square. There is a great deal of erosion here, which creates sexual tension as well. Neither one of the signs is shy about assuming responsibility and finishing things. Be that as it may, these signs approach their goals in their own ways.
Leo Capricorn has the most trouble joining with Leo. Nonetheless, different signs are altogether different, despite their opposition to leadership and status.
Leo is above all else, regardless of social status or foundation. Leo wishes to be seen and appreciated. Capricorns, nonetheless, need to finish things. Capricorn is aggravated by Leo's style. Capricorn finds Leo dull.
Libra Libra shares an honest relationship with Capricorn, similar to Aries. This match, nonetheless, is less unpredictable. For Libra, struggle is something terrible.
Although this is valid, Capricorns are by and large drawn to one another and can be irritating to one another. Notwithstanding, Libra really prefers not to relinquish control, despite appearances. Libras seldom assert themselves, obviously, but they can get what they need and need.
Ending note
Capricorn is an amazing and extremely energetic zodiac sign, as well as one of the most amazing people to be around. Be it a companion, partner, or family member, they will give their all for their job in your life. Known for their perfect personality traits, they are objective situated folks however never neglect to think often about their friends and family.
Despite the fact that they are wonderful in and out, if they push some unacceptable button, they will rapidly unwind their rage because of their zero resilience. In any case, thanks to their optimistic outlook and natural nature, the unique Capricorns flourish consistently to make the world a better spot, getting a charge out of engaging in testing things and doing them without anyone's help.

So let’s first focus on Desmond has the Cat Curse (may have the God Curse):
From @twitcherpated:
BUT I will say that I was absolutely also thinking of Desmond as being the cat, except I was even more cruel to him and was going to go that he only has the monster form
but man him being the God figure would also be very very good
From @zero-saito
So if desmond is cat then does that mean his bond that lifts his curse is his ancestors? Who he thinks he will never meet cause they are dead? But it wouldn’t make sense cause it has to be willing but I’m reality they were aware of him the whole time so they accepted him.
I am all in for Desmond’s cat form to only be the monster form which gives everyone more reason to keep him locked up and for Desmond to not touch anyone (touch starved).
As for the fact that his connection needs to be willing (on both sides so even if someone was willing to connect with Desmond, years of isolation would make it harder for Desmond to connect with them), we can go down the route of “the ancestors can feel or have dreams of Desmond and they accept him” or we can go down the route of “the Bleeding Effect serves as a pseudo connection since Desmond’s mind is getting mushed up so the curse is lifted when his Bleeds gain sentient and, since Desmond actually has the God curse, the Bleeds themselves evolve much more than they should in Desmond’s mind. (AKA: Desmond gets saved because the deus ex bleeding effect)
Or you know… just yeet Desmond back in time after the Grand Temple to your chosen ancestor…
And now…
For @twitcherpated’s idea of making this Western Zodiac Sign instead:
ahahahahha so! I wasn't grabbing too much from furuba for worldbuilding; I just wanted to steal the turning into animals when hugged bit, and Minerva using it as an incentive/disincentive "no you must only breed with this person, because I have plans was a silly low effort way of doing it
honestly though having an Assassin line stretching back to...hm. Kassandra would be the most fun I think? but feel free to grab anyone, like I said I don't have strong worldbuilding opinions here-- but anyway, a curse along the Assassin line stretching back to Kassandra, and of course then it would be the grecian zodiac instead
....I don't know if that's more or less fun than the Chinese zodiac. Hm. Hm.
well, I'm just gonna toss that aside and leave it to you after all
It will be more chaotic, that’s for sure because…
Altaïr is a Capricorn which means he’s half goat half fish, making him a Capricorn that can’t freaking swim!
Then you have Ezio being a Cancer so now he gets to be an adorable crab.
Then Ratonhnhaké:ton is an Aries so, in this case, the legends of the powerful murderous ram will become folklore in all of America.
Desmond is a Pisces which means that the poor guy needs to have quick access to any kind of water source so he wouldn’t die.
Other AC characters’ Western Zodiac Signs for maximum chaos:
Haytham is a Sagittarius which means he’s a centaur with a bow and arrow. And, yes, the tacohat stays on.
Edward is also a Pisces which works well for him since he’s a pirate. He just has to make sure his crew doesn’t try to eat him.
Shay AND Arno are both Virgos so I propose both of them turn into maidens every time they get touched. Like, full-blown young pure maiden (clothing optional). XD
Evie and Jacob are Scorpios so they turn into scorpions which will make it easier for them to stealth their way into locations… or, in Jacob’s location, poison the fuck out of everyone. If you want it to be funny, make them scorpions that don’t actually have lethal poison, only one that can be as painful as a bee sting yet Jacob is still stabbing everyone with his tail. XD
Hello, I'm here to drop a silly fic idea on you and run:
Are you familiar with the concept of Fruits Basket?
Okay now consider....what if Minerva went about her breeding program in *the most ridiculous possible way*
and anyone born with a certain percentage of Isu DNA turns into an animal when they embrace anyone who *doesn't* have sufficient Isu DNA.
ie the whole Auditore family has enough that Ezio is fine giving family affection
but the first time he chases a pretty girl and she surprises him from around the corner with a tackle-hug
suddenly he's looking up at her from a furry little body and she's running away screaming
child Ezio clumsily slinking his way back to the palazzo on four legs, looking up at his mother with mournful eyes
her scooping him up, "Oh my darling boy, I am so sorry you found out this way."
I read the manga when I was young and watched the earlier anime but I haven’t gotten to watching the new one. also. Wait. Come back. Don't just throw me Fruit Basket and leave. Do you not remember how angsty Fruit Basket can get???
Okay, so, in Fruit Basket, the animals were based on the Chinese Zodiac and there was the whole ‘continuously being reborn for an endless banquet’ curse thing going on but it seemed we’re not going for that vibe? Perhaps, it’s more like the ones with enough Isu DNA can turn into one of the animals in the Chinese Zodiac and it’s really just a roll of the dice (specifically a 12D).
I kinda like the idea of Ezio transforming into the least threatening of his siblings though. Like Federico gets to be an ox, Claudia gets to be a tiger and maybe Petruccio is like a horse or a snake then there’s Ezio being a fluffy sheep. XD
Also, Altaïr would make being the mouse to his stealthily advantage but I kinda wanna make him a white rabbit or a rooster?
Although, we can make it easier for us on what kind of animal they would transform to by actually using their Chinese Zodiac sign:
Altaïr: 1165 - Green Wood Monkey (1165 is the year of the Rooster but Altaïr’s birthday is on January 21, which is before the Chinese New Year, so technically he’s part of the 1164 Year as far as the Chinese Zodiac is concerned)
Ezio: 1459 - Yellow Earth Rabbit
Ratonhnhaké:ton: 1756 - Red Fire Rat
(Calculations from this site)
Then we get to Desmond.
If we take his birth year into consideration (1987), he would be a Red Fire Rabbit BUT may I suggest two alternatives instead?
Desmond does not transform at all and everyone assume that means he’s normal (which is a disappointment for Bill because being able to turn into an animal has become an honorable ‘achievement’ in the eyes of the Assassins and Templars) but this is inaccurate. It’s not that he can’t transform, it’s that he doesn’t have to because his curse isn’t the curse of one of the Zodiac animals but the curse of God. And his curse is the need for a connection with someone who can turn into an animal (which must be given to him freely), binding the two of them regardless of the distance of space and time between them.
He transforms into the cat, the animal ostracized and has only been rumored to have appeared once or twice in history. The cat is always locked up because they are seen as unnatural and is one of the main reason why Desmond ran away.
Or a combination of the two where Desmond’s curse is that of the Cat but the main idea is the Cat is the ‘first’ form of the God curse and, only by creating a connection with another animal (willingly) regardless of the distance in time and space could the cat evolve to being God.

Understanding Capricorn Zodiac Sign
Were you born between 22nd December and 19th January, then you were born under the Capricorn Sun Sign.
But Capricorns are some of the most misunderstood people around, and they are often frustrated that they get labelled boring, but the creature that represents this sign tells a different story.
In this article we’re going to deliver some top-quality insight for those people born under this Capricorn sign.
Is Capricorn a sea-goat, or just a goat?
Traditionally speaking, Capricorn has always been represented by a goat with a fish tail until more recent times, but the original picture of the sea-goat is there to provide meaning.
It has a fish’s tail which means it is connected to the water element, but its top half is a goat, which is an earthy creature known to be around mountainous regions. Naturally, the goat part of this creature is heading upwards, towards the surface; this reflects the Capricorn desire to establish itself on dry land so that all of the potential and creativity that is inherent in the water element, can actually become something.
Now that to us, is not as boring as Capricorns are often made out to be. It’s important to also know that Capricorn is the sign opposite Cancer, the crab, which is ultimately bound to the water element.
Capricorn is the cardinal earth sign
As a cardinal sign, it shows the great need for the earth element. After-all, with no earth, what are we? The beginning of earth, as this sign is called, reflects conflict, barriers, and strife, which is perhaps why Mars is exalted in this sign: the power to go out and establish something. This is not the beautiful potential of the earth element as shown by Taurus.
Capricorn is ruled by Saturn
Saturn is the most distant planet, ruling our boundaries and limitations, which also provide structure; without this structure we are overwhelmed by the water element, which is exactly why this planet rules Capricorn, giving these individuals that serious and realistic life energy.
The key-phrase of Capricorn is “I Build”
Capricorn is the fall of Jupiter, the planet that takes it easy. In Capricorn the dominate energy is Saturn and Mars. It’s about building and making things, or at least reaching out for that. It’s a serious and realistic sign, which means that the Capricorn can make great business people, but may not be truly comfortable with being leaders.
Capricorn is the first sign of winter
When the Sun enters Capricorn, it is when astronomical winter begins, when the Sun reaches its lowest point. The good point being that it can only get lighter after the darkest period. So, in this we see the Capricorn being the planners of the Zodiac, looking for ways out of a situation. It is optimism but in a realistic way. The winter after-all is good for reflection, and in
Capricorn it will be reflection about our earth-bound existence.
A Famous Capricorn
J.R.R. Tolkien. The author of Lord of the Rings is a very earthy novel and at its heart there is battle between what stands and what falls, which is what the Capricorn energy is all about. Can the desire nature be overcome? Is the question.

Saw the passive abilities question, so now we have to ask: what passives would all the golds have?
I am SO sorry this took me so long to answer, but here I go!
Of course, I went the "creature the zodiac sign is linked to" way.
Aries:
You know how rams headbutt each other to assert dominance? The Aries Saint has the ability to headbutt people without gaining brain damage as a result. Well, jokes aside, rams can charge at incredible speed before attacking and have considerable endurance, so maybe the latter is what I can give the Aries Saint as an innate ability? Fights between rams can last for hours, so I bet the Aries Saint can keep fighting for much longer than a Saint normally can.
Taurus:
Rather than an ability, I would say the Taurus Saint has a tendency of being red-green colorblind, as bulls generally have dichromacy. In addition to that, I'd say the Taurus Saint is always the strongest, at least on a physical level, because bulls have incredible strength.
Gemini:
Well, I don't know? The gemini zodiac sign literally represents twins, so... I have no idea what kind of ability I could give the Gemini Saint, aside from an innate capability of bickering with their twin.
...
Okay, I'm done joking. Gemini represents Castor and Pollux, the Dioscuri, who are known for being excellent hunters and horsemen. With this in mind, I'd say the innate ability of the Gemini Saint is exactly that: riding and hunting. And this Saint can hunt anything.
Cancer:
... I thought I had no idea of what do write here, because, well, the constellation is literally just the crab that bit Hercules while he was fighting the Hydra. There's nothing associated with it, save for this fact, and that it was placed among the stars by Hera. But then I remembered that I'm supposed to take into account the animal itself as well, and crabs? They can themselves so well you can't notice them even if you walk right past their hiding spot. So this is what the Cancer Saint's ability. Hiding. Which, if you ask me, is an extremely useful ability, no matter how proud the Gold Saints are.
Leo:
I wanted to say "the Leo Saint has the ability to run after a laser pointer" so bad, but then I remembered that one video I watched of lions being completely uncaring of laser pointers so... guess the joke died before existing. Anyway, the Leo Saint is probably known for ability to deliver short but powerful attacks, just like real lions. They don't have much in terms of stamina - remember, we're still in the superhuman category here - but they are powerful by default. Also, using the Nemean lion to my advantage, I'll say the Leo Saint can't be wounded easily. Just for a silly comparison: if another Saint lands face-first into the ground, there's going to be blood right away; is a Leo Saint lands face-first into the ground, there's still going to be blood right away, but only because Leo would kick in the teeth whoever slammed him on the floor. Basically, it takes effort to draw blood from a Leo Saint.
Also, a Leo Saint that's also a woman has a more refined hunting instinct, because I watched way too many documentaries in my life and I know that a lioness does 99% of the hunting work and it's better at it.
Virgo:
Does the ability of never getting laid count?
This one is tricky, because Virgo represents Astrea, the celestial virgin and goddess of innocence, purity, and precision. Since these don't really qualify as abilities, I looked into her mythology and remembered that she's closely associated with Earth. Because of this, I believe the Virgo Saint's ability is to communicate on a deep, spiritual level with the essence of Earth and its creatures. Which is not too far from what's actually depicted in canon, after all.
Libra:
The Libra Saint can always find the perfect balance. Doesn't matter if it's physical or metaphorical, Thanos would die of envy for how perfectly balanced everything is for this Saint. Aside from this, which is more of a practical ability, the Libra Saint has also the amazing capability of being always able to find loopholes in laws (Libra represents justice and law, so... yeah), and can always know if someone is innocent or guilty.
Scorpio:
Oh, here I go, let me butcher my sign completely. My first thought was that the Scorpio Saint is actually venomous (god, I hope I used the right word, we only have ONE in Italian for poisonous and venomous). Not like a certain Pisces Saint we know and love, of course. Just like with Taurus, it's a characteristic and not a passive ability, but I do have something else as well.
And that something else is an ability to survive even in the worst, most dire conditions. Scorpions, unless you straight up crush them under your foot, are extremely difficult to kill. They have a tremendous immune system, they literally don't drown, they can slow down their metabolism when there's no food around, you can freeze them completely and they'll just walk away once thawed, and they can live in harsh climates with no issues. In light of this, the Scorpio Saint is extremely difficult to kill, and can resist most life-threatening conditions with ease. I'd say is a good passive ability to have, for sure.
Sagittarius:
It goes by itself that the Sagittarius Saint has the innate ability to be absolutely amazing with bow and arrow, but another passive ability they have is horse riding. Lastly, since the constellation actually represents Chiron, the Sagittarius Saint is an excellent mentor and teacher, better than anyone else.
Capricorn:
Goats can climb near vertical surfaces, and so can the saint of this constellation. It's a really useful ability, especially when it comes to stealthy missions and the like. Alongside this, the Capricorn Saint is probably a really good swimmer, since the constellation is half goat and half fish, although not as good as the Pisces Saint.
Aquarius:
Oh, here we have some troubles. The Aquarius constellation represents Ganymede, Zeus' freaking cup-bearer. He's a hero, yes, but he's known for having enchanted Zeus enough to gain a place in the Olympus as an immortal. What does this leave me with? A Saint that has the air association of the sign, the water association of the constellation, and the fascinating beauty of the myth.
Let's just say that the Aquarius Saint has the perfect mastery over ice (which is canon) because air and water? Come on, it's the only thing I cant think about. That's the passive ability, an insane control over water and air that translate in mastery of all ice things. Plus the ability to enchant even the gods, because the Pisces Saint is not the only enticing person of the Sanctuary.
Pisces:
I'd say the passive ability of the Pisces Saint is swimming like a mermaid, aka quickly, efficiently, and without needing as much rest as a normal human. Some powerful Saints can also find themselves able to breathe underwater, but it's a rather rare ability that doesn't show up often, and not many are willing to try breathing underwater just to make sure.
And that's it, since the other somewhat passive ability I love to give every single Pisces Saint (and not only the canon ones) is venomous blood and plant toxins immunity.
I don't know if I nailed or failed this answer. I'm mostly going off of stuff I know out of the top of my head, because I'm a sucker for nature documentaries and documentaries in general, so there might be some stupid things sprinkled here and there.
Doesn't matter.
Once again, sorry for taking so long, and thank you for the interesting ask!

sorry if this is a dumb question but i'm asking this out of a general place of curiosity. have mermaids always had horns? or is it some kind of mashup? i've never seen mermaid art with horns so when i saw one of merman!levi with horns my brain was gone
From what I know, the Mermaid Levi thing came from an official art where all the characters represent their zodiac signs!
Levi’s a Capricorn, and the constellation is actually half fish half goat which is why he has the horns. This is the official art.
I don’t think mermaids actually have horns, but also, I think they’re really cute 🥺 so I write it in anyway.

Cryptic Mystic: What’s Your Sign?
Many of us are fascinated by astrology and all things outer space related. The great unknown that is beyond the stars has been a hot topic for centuries. But, how did the zodiac begin? What makes astrological signs and the alignment of planets and stars so magical? Is it truly prophetic? Does your sign define your personality, past, present, and future? Or is this simply another product of the Barnum Effect?
So I’ll start by asking the obvious: “what’s your sign?” I’m a Leo through and through. While I’m skeptical about the claims of some astrological signs and their relation to my life on a daily basis, I do believe there is some truth here - as is with most things. This topic is one that I have been wanting to write about for some time now. I have always found outer space, stars, planets, etc. to be fascinating. As a child, I remember laying in the grass and watching the stars above me. In my little valley in the forest, I could see so many stars that wouldn’t be visible if I were in the city. I am so thankful I had that childhood experience of growing up somewhere where I could truly connect with nature and the simple things around me that most take for granted on a day-to-day basis. I still stargaze to this day, but I can’t see near as many as I once did in my childhood forest valley home. I’ve seen a plethora of shooting stars throughout my lifetime, two meteor showers, two solar eclipses, and plenty of unidentified objects that were likely satellites… or were they…?
One time when I was driving home from work late one night I saw something that befuddled me. As I drove down the winding 2 lane highway in the darkness of the night I saw what appeared to be a helicopter hovering right above the trees. Now, this area I was driving through was rural. There are few houses in those woods, but there are some. The backroads leading to the site where the “helicopter” was hovering are seldom traveled, especially this late at night. I began processing the event in my mind and questioning if it was a helicopter, why would it be hovering so low and what exactly would it be doing in the middle of nowhere in the middle of the night. It just didn’t make sense. I thought about logical explanations and could only come up with one. There is the slim possibility that someone driving on one of the many backroads in that area may have got into an accident and was getting airlifted to a hospital. I’ve seen it happen before on backroads near there. Aside from this idea, I had nothing. By this point, I had obviously slowed down so I could get a better look. Hell, there wasn’t any traffic so it’s not like I was worried about causing an accident or anything. As I looked closer I noticed it wasn’t a helicopter at all. There were about 4-6 large bright lights shining down below the area that the craft was hovering over. The circumference of this craft was much wider than a helicopter - more circular. The lights were far too big and far too bright. Whether it was fear, shock, tiredness, or my stomach growling, I continued to drive on and leave the peculiar scene behind. Now, I know this has nothing to do with astrology or zodiac signs, but it is an interesting story nonetheless.
In reference to zodiac signs, I find that descriptions of a Leo with my particular birthdate are genuinely pretty accurate when describing my personality and conflicts. However, the daily horoscopes are definitely not accurate in my experience. I will say that when I read/listen to them I try to apply something positive from the reading to my daily life. I engage in a deeper thought process and practice mindfulness throughout the day, keeping that positive focus within my mind on the positive message I am supposed to be implementing into my day. I have also found that compatibility readings have been somewhat inaccurate as far as certain zodiac signs getting along or not getting along with other zodiac signs. The biggest obvious red flag for me is how many different sources there are. And guess what? They all say something different on the daily. If zodiac signs and horoscopes are supposed to be accurate, then why don’t all individuals who report them online all say the same thing - or at least something similar?? To play devil's advocate here, I did say earlier that I believe there is some truth to all of this, which is why it interests me so much and also why I believe in this stuff to a degree. There is a lot of magical and wondrous history to unpack in regards to the zodiac and horoscopes. So, let’s jump right in, shall we?
Interesting fact: the word zodiac is derived from Greek terminology meaning “circle of little animals.” We’re a circle of little animals - cute visuals there, eh? Hieroglyphs in Egypt dating as early as the 14th century BC were found to contain a circle of decans (constellations) depicting something that looks a lot like the constellations and zodiac symbols that we know today. In total there were 36 decans found within the temple.
During the first half of the first millennium, Babylonian astronomers created our modern zodiac. They also mapped the previous constellations that were seen in the Egyptian hieroglyphs but continued to add more as they were discovered. In the last half of the 5th century, the Babylonian astronomers divided the many constellations into 12 equal "signs” to represent the 12 months of the year at 30 days per month. Each sign contained 30° of celestial longitude, thus creating the first known celestial coordinate system. According to calculations by modern astrophysics, the zodiac was introduced between 409 and 398 BC and probably within a very few years of 401 BC. Unlike modern astrologers, who place the beginning of the sign of Aries at the place of the Sun at the vernal equinox, Babylonian astronomers fixed the zodiac in relation to stars, placing the beginning of Cancer at the "Rear Twin Star" (β Geminorum) and the beginning of Aquarius at the "Rear Star of the Goat-Fish" (δ Capricorni). Due to the precession of the equinoxes, the time of year the Sun is in a given constellation has changed since Babylonian times, the point of vernal equinox has moved from Aries into Pisces.
You’ll be pleasantly surprised, intrigued, or disgusted to know that all of this does have some roots within religion. The Hebrew Bible shows knowledge of the Babylonian zodiac. E. W. Bullinger noted that the drawings found in the book of Ezekiel were quite similar to the middle four quarters of the zodiac (Lion/Leo, Bull/Taurus, Man/Aquarius, Eagle/Scorpio). You read that right, Scorpio is noted as being an eagle - not a scorpion. Some say that the twelve tribes of Israel are correlated with the zodiac signs found within the Hebrew 12 month calendar. There is an argument that the position of the Israelic tribes around the Tabernacle from the book of Numbers correlates with the exact order of the zodiac, with Judah, Reuben, Ephraim, and Dan representing the middle signs of Leo, Aquarius, Taurus, and Scorpio, respectively. It is shocking how I have heard religious people in modern times talk about how this is all a bunch of garbage, even though some of this is literally correlated with items from the Bible.
To explain daily horoscopes and the connection between the stars, planets, and our zodiac signs, you must engage in a bit of math (yuck). When planets and constellations of the zodiac would align, the Babylonian astronomers of that time would note the experiences that people had and found similarities. These experiences, along with the position of the Earth, Sun, Moon, and constellations and the positions relative to the zodiac signs were stored within a catalogue. This went on for several years and is essentially what began our modern-day daily horoscope. However, it is my personal opinion that a lot of these “professionals” who have their own magical websites where you can get a free daily horoscope, just make shit up to sound interesting. That is obvious by the previously mentioned differentials found within each page. I encourage you to do a quick Google search and you’ll see what I’m talking about. This ties into the belief that the Barnum Effect is in play here. You’ll remember the Barnum Effect from last month's blog. If you haven’t read the June 2021 blog The Imaginarium of Barnum, I suggest you head there next to get a deeper understanding of what I’m talking about before you continue reading. Much of what is broadcasted in daily horoscopes, zodiac sign descriptions, and even within mediumship and tarot readings is full of extremely vague generalities. Because the information is presented in such a vague and generalized way, it then becomes an instance where anyone could apply any of the information to their life in some way. So as you can see, there is some psychological manipulation at play here. Now, I am not saying this is true for all who present the information. I will say that there are A LOT of shams out there. I have seen far more fake sites/readings/etc. than I have seen legit ones. If I had to give a percentage from my personal experience, I’d say about 85% of what I’ve seen is bullshit. But you choose what you believe at the end of the day. I just ask you to keep an open mind and a wise eye about you when scanning the web for horoscopes, zodiac information, tarot, and mediumship.
All of this information is interesting to stew on within your mind. I hope that you learned something new. I know I did when I was researching this topic for the blog. The religious ties were the most surprising thing to me. What did you find most interesting? Drop a comment under the blog on Tumblr or under the Instagram post for this month’s blog and let me know. Tonight if you are able, take a look at the stars and see if you can find the constellations. The plethora of shapes within the brightest stars are brilliant to gaze upon. Who knows, maybe you will find your zodiac constellation. Maybe you will depict a new constellation on your own by combining different combinations of stars. Or maybe you’ll see something that you can’t explain…
