Fine! Y’all don’t want fandom? Well apparently Fandom doesn’t want me either.
Here’s Wikidot! It’s open! It’s tree! “I want Media Wiki tho!” getting a host costs money and maybe I’ll do that later but not right now! (I’m happy to work with whoever does that tho).
http://megami-tensei.wikidot.com/
(edit again 3/17/23: I might be biting the bullet and doing MediaWiki instead, I’m not liking Wikidot’s format. I’ll keep y’all posted on that for later)
(edit: might also do one on miraheze we’ll find out, oh! Turns out there is a Miraheze one that exists. I’m still going with wikidot cause I liked what I was doing, but I’d be willing to work with them if they want. Here’s Miraheze’s wiki if you want it: https://megaten.miraheze.org/wiki/Main_Page)
(I wanted Megaten but that was taken, someone else did start a megamitensei wiki dot but no one has added anything and I’d like to be in charge atm).
my previous rules still apply with how I want some things formatted (not sure if I can do subpages atm but the MC name rule is still the way it’s suppose to be!)

💭 Kotone Shiomi x Shinjiro Aragaki 💭 Dreams of a Dead Man
I hear that kid speakin’.
"Shinjiro...I…I didn’t mean...for things to end up like this!"
At least he’s still got his humanity left in him. Kid’s got it far too rough for someone his age. And I can’t blame him. I’d do the same thing if I was in his shoes.
Sounds like he’s cryin’ his eyes out. Not like I can do anything about it. Better if he burns it out of his system this way instead of grabbin’ a gun and releasin’ his tears in the form of a bullet shot through someone’s skull. Nothing worse than two me’s running around.
Kotone, I’m putting him in your hands. Keep this boy’s head on straight.
"Damn it Shinji! Why did you do that? Why did you do such a thing?"
All right, Aki. Don’t bang the damn table with your fists. That ain’t helpin’ either of us.
"If only I was stronger. Then I wouldn’t have had to lose yet another friend!"
Stronger for what? To punch the damn bullet outta the air? Sounds like you’re the madman here. And quit moping around like I’m dead. I can still hear you. Just can’t smack you upside the head like you need right now.
…Don’t blame yourself. I protected the kid out of my own volition. He’s not the one who deserved to die that night, no matter his intentions.
"It’s too dreary in here. I bought you some flowers to brighten the place up."
Thanks. Not like I’ve noticed. Or even can notice.
"They wouldn’t let me bring Koromaru along, otherwise, I would’ve bought him in to say hi."
Ah...the poor boy. I hope he’s doin’ well. He wouldn’t be able to survive Fuuka’s cooking.
"He’s been whining at his bowl every day, so I know you’ve been sneaking him a meal every evening…”
...Shut it.
"...but we’ve tried sparing him a few table scraps and he just looks up and whines. He doesn’t even lift his head off of the ground. Aigis can’t even get a word out of him."
You tryin’ to rip my already bloody heart out?
"I think he misses you, Shinji."
Girl, I know he misses me. But what the hell can I do about it? Thats right; jack shit. I can’t even go tell Koro-chan myself that I’m still kickin’.
"I don’t think he’ll believe me even if I tell him I’ve personally seen you alive, but I’ll make sure he knows that your battle isn’t over."
You know me too well.
"I should probably get going before one of the nurses drag me out for overstaying my welcome. Not like you can hear me, but I love you, Shinji."
I love you too. Dammit.
"Still slacking, are you? Now’s the time to wake up if you plan on it."
Seems like you only got more annoying as time went on. Guess that’s what happens when you don’t got someone to punch some sense into ya.
And I’m not the one slacking. This shitty body of mine is. Otherwise, I would’ve given you a nice helping of a well-deserved knuckle sandwich a long-ass time ago.
"In all seriousness, the opportunities that we get to come visit you are few and far between. Things have not been looking up out there."
Out of my control. And I am too tired for your shit. Good night.
"This could be the last time I ever see you, and I wish it could’ve been under better circumstances.”
Last time? What the hell do you mean last time?
"Tomorrow’s the Promised Day....”
What the fuck is the “Promised Day?”
“…where we aim to put an end to Nyx once and for all.”
Who the fuck is Nyx? Never mind, why the hell am I even bothering with wondering?
“If we were to fail, anything and everything living will be annihilated in an instant. Nobody will even know The Fall is happening."
Lucky for you, I’m about as good as a dead man.
"I want to stay with you just a little while longer. I really do. But I kinda snuck away from the team just to see you."
Well, get back out there. It’ll make me feel better knowing you’re out there kickin’ ass. They need ya. I don’t need you.
"It’s not fair Shinji! I wanted more time! Why did he have to take you away from me!?"
Life isn’t fair to any of us. If it were, then that kid would still have a mom and a bunch of junkies wouldn’t be on the loose shootin’ people. Hell, I want to lift my stupid hand to wipe those stupid tears off of your face, but I can’t do shit.
"I... I should go back before the others notice I’ve snuck out."
Damn straight. Give em’ hell girl.
"Ah...I meant to visit you sooner, but I’ve been tired. So very, very tired."
Huh. Guessing y’all won seeing how that wasn’t the last time you’ve spoken to me. Unless we’re in purgatory or some shit. But I doubt it. Still don’t got a body worth a damn.
That doesn’t mean you can go tumblin’ onto me. But, I suppose I’ll give you a break, since it’s you.
"Finishing out the year has been exhausting, but the seniors are graduating tomorrow. I’ve had to hang in there for their sake as I wouldn’t miss their ceremony for the life of me."
So Aki and Mitsuru are all grown up now, eh? Crazy how time flies when a man’s down in the dumps.
"I feel like I could sleep forever."
Me too girl.
"But I won’t. I refuse. As long as you don’t."
...
"…I should go before I fall asleep here with you."
Go rest. We’ll see each other again soon enough.
"Aragaki-senpai, I hope you don’t mind me visiting again."
Doesn’t matter if I did or didn’t. Can’t do anything about it regardless.
"Kotone...Kotone asked me to deliver this in her steed. She felt bad about giving back your watch only for it to be destroyed, so she got you a new one."
There ain’t nothing for her to feel bad about. I would have bled out 20 times over if it weren’t for having that thing back.
"I’m sorry. I’ll leave now."
Kid, there’s nothing for you to feel bad for either. You ain’t the one that pulled the trigger.
…Damn. Can’t believe he’s still cryin’ over that.
It’s a good thing in a way. He’s still young. Shows he hasn’t strayed from the right path just yet.
Kotone must’ve done a damn good job of keeping him on track. I’m going to have to thank her once I figure out how to use my damn body again.

The one good thing about school? It’s so easy to catch up on sleep. Junpei had given it a shot when they’d gotten back to the dorm and failed horribly. If he’d stayed home he probably would’ve spent the whole day tossing and turning, imagining the sounds of ambulance sirens and Amada crying. But Edogawa droning on and on about whatever magical bullshit is like a white noise machine. It’s exactly what Junpei needs to catch a few decent z’s.
Honestly, Junpei’s amazed that Minato and Yuka-tan apparently didn’t fall asleep during class. How much sleep can they even be running on right now? Two hours? Three at most, and that’s if they even slept in the first place.
When the final bell of the day rings, Junpei sits up and stretches. He doesn’t feel quite rested, per se, but he does feel way better than this morning at least. Whatever Kirijo-senpai has to say, he’s ready for it. There’s no way this can get any worse, right?
“Let’s get going,” Yuka-tan says, not wasting any time. It sounds like she’s ready to get this over with just as much as he is. And hey, maybe if they have time after picking up Amada and hopefully seeing Aragaki-san, he can stop by Chidori’s room and say hello.
Fuuka comes out of her classroom a few seconds after they do. Moriyama’s hot on her heels, fussing over her all the way. “Promise me you’ll call me if you feel like you need to, okay Fuuka?”
“I will, Natsuki-chan, I promise,” Fuuka says, muffled by the tight hug Moriyama pulls her into.
“I really mean it, okay? Even if it’s two in the morning, I don’t care, you can call.” She lets Fuuka go to join up with the rest of their group. “I hope your friend is alright,” she says to all of them. It’s nice of her. She seems really different these days, now that she’s been hanging out with Fuuka.
They all meet Kirjio-senpai in front of the student council room. She’s apologizing to one of the other council members (the cute first year with the glasses– Junpei can’t remember her name) for being unable to attend to her duties today.
Glasses Girl bows politely and must say something reassuring, because Kirijo-senpai smiles at her. Their business concludes right after, and Kirijo-senpai turns around to see them all. Her smile falls a little but doesn’t vanish entirely. That’s got to be a good sign. “Ah good, you’re all here,” she says.
“Have you heard anything?” Fuuka asks, her voice watery. Junpei wonders how she fared all day. He’s glad Moriyama was there to comfort her a little. She seems to take her Comforting Fuuka duties pretty seriously.
“I have,” Kirijo-senpai replies. “I received a call a few hours ago. Aragaki survived the surgery.”
All of them, even Minato, even Aigis, let out a long collective sigh of relief. Okay, that’s one piece of good news today! Off to a good start!
“Oh thank goodness…” Fuuka whispers, sounding close to tears. Hell, even Junpei feels a little choked up. He hopes this means things are starting to turn around.
Kirijo-senpai nods. “He’s been given a room, and Akihiko has informed me that he’s being allowed visitors as well.” It’s only then that Junpei realizes that Sanada-san isn’t here with them. Did he skip? Damn, now he feels kind of bad for leaving him at the hospital all alone… “I haven’t received any further updates, but Akihiko should be able to fill us in once we’ve arrived.”
“Then we should all go and visit Aragaki-san, post haste,” Aigis says with a rare smile on her face. “Nothing helps one’s recovery more than companions by one’s side, as they say.”
Junpei has no idea who says that, but she’s probably not wrong.
Hopefully Amada can come home tonight too. There’s a lot that needs to be said, apparently.
“I agree,” Kirijo-senpai says. Out of all of them here, it looks like she wants to visit Aragaki-san the most. “And I’m sure the doctors would be able to aid in explaining the particulars of Aragaki’s condition. I can give you all a general idea, but they most certainly know more than I do.”
“Then what’re we waitin’ for?” Junpei pipes in. “Let’s go see the rest of our crew!” Well, except Koromaru. It really sucks that the hospital won’t let pets in, at least not the ones that aren’t specially trained or whatever. Aragaki-san would probably be happier to see him than pretty much anybody, except maybe Sanada-san and Kirijo-senpai.
Actually, on second thought, he’d probably want to see Koromaru the most.
Compared to the dorms, Tatsumi Memorial Hospital is actually pretty far away from the school. Luckily, the subway goes straight there for convenience, and Junpei knows the way there by heart by now, so the trip barely takes any time at all. Junpei is surprised to spot Sanada-san in the parking lot when they arrive, instead of inside. He’s talking to an older couple in front of a car. A pretty nice car, too– one with that classy-but-understated kinda look to it.
“Thanks again for coming all this way,” he half hears Sanada-san say as they approach.
“Don’t be silly, Aki,” the woman replies kindly, sandwiching his face between her hands. She’s tiny next to him, a whole head shorter. “It’s not far at all.”
“Especially not for something like this.” The man puts a hand on Sanada-san’s shoulder– he’s also shorter, but only by a centimeter or two. “You’ll call us if something else happens with Shinjiro-kun, right?”
“...Yeah, Dad. I will.” Oh, so these are his parents. The ones that sent that swanky care package a while back. It makes sense they’d know Aragaki-san too, Junpei figures.
Sanada-san’s mom gives him a tight hug, and he hugs her back. “And please get some rest,” she says before finally getting into the car. Once they’ve driven off, Sanada-san finally notices them.
And wow. Junpei would never say this to his face, but he looks like shit. No wonder his mom told him to get some rest. He’s got bags under his eyes like he’s planning on going globe-trotting. Has he gotten any sleep at all in the last 24 hours?
Probably not. Sanada-san’s the kinda guy that goes from one extreme to the other.
“Your parents came by?” Kirijo-senpai asks, going right to his side.
“I was surprised too,” Sanada-san replies. Junpei’s never heard him sound so tapped out before. “They dropped all of their plans today to come see me and Shinji.”
It’d be a lie if he said he’s not a little jealous. Must be nice to have parents that care.
“Ikutsuki-san came by earlier as well,” Sanada-san continues. “But he didn’t stay long.” He doesn’t sound too beat up about that.
Kirijo-senpai puts a hand on Sanada-san’s arm, and they do that thing of theirs where they don’t even speak but still know what the other one is saying. It’s pretty easy to tell from the outside what’s being not-said this time, though. She wants to know how things are going– all of them do. Junpei’s ready to hear some more good news.
He doesn’t get to. Instead, he watches as Sanada-san’s face falls and he looks away. “Shinji’s… He made it through surgery, but he hasn’t woken up yet.”
Okay…not ideal, but Aragaki-san’s probably just exhausted after such intensive surgery, right? That has to take a lot out of a guy.
“The doctors said they aren’t sure if he’ll even wake up at all.” Sanada-san barely gets the whole sentence out, and his voice still cracks a little on the last word.
A heavy silence falls over all of them. Oh.
“So he’s…” Yuka-tan says quietly. “He’s in a coma?”
“Basically, yes.”
Shit.
“No way…” Junpei mutters. This wasn’t supposed to happen. They were supposed to have gotten through the worst part and started heading for the triumphant comeback.
He remembers suddenly how he had told himself ‘oh things for sure can’t get worse!’ back at school. He really should know better than to even think something like that.
“Aragaki-senpai…” Fuuka sounds like she’s about to burst into tears. Junpei wishes he could say something to comfort her, but he doesn’t even know how to comfort himself. “He…he can’t…”
“I think it would behoove us to go inside,” Aigis cuts her off. “We can speak to the doctors and get a more detailed explanation of everything. Please, do not lose hope, everyone.”
At least someone’s optimistic. They really need someone to be, right now. Yuka-tan has her arms wrapped tight around herself and her mouth is pinched. Minato looks like he’s about to throw up, and he’s turned about the same color as old milk.
“That’s a good idea, Aigis,” Kirijo-senpai replies. Even she looks way more shaken than Junpei’s ever seen her. He doesn’t think she’d ever let herself to look like this in front of them under normal circumstances.
When they get inside, even Junpei can tell that something doesn’t seem right. It feels a little more…panicky, maybe? Then it did yesterday. Sanada-san’s clearly surprised, so it must not have been like this when he’d walked his parents out, even though he couldn’t have been outside with them for more than ten minutes.
“Kirijo-san!” The doctor from before, the one that asked for the blood donation, runs up to them. She looks even more haggard than yesterday– no, shit, earlier today, that’s insane to think about. “I was just about to call you– I’m so sorry, I don’t know how this happened–”
Junpei suddenly gets an awful feeling. Judging from how panicked she looks– No. Come on. There’s no way–
“What’s wrong?” Kirijo-senpai asks, looking just as alarmed as he feels. “What happened?”
He’s got no words for the expression on Sanada-san’s face. ‘Horrified’ comes to mind, but— that’d be underselling it big time. ‘Devastated’ isn’t strong enough either. Whatever it is, Junpei has to look away.
“It’s Amada-kun. He’s not in his room. We can’t find him anywhere.”
Oh, shit. Oh you’ve got to be kidding! How the hell do you just lose a whole-ass kid?!
It’s not the news they’d all been afraid of, but it’s not exactly a relief either. Kirijo-senpai starts grilling the doctor on when and how Amada could have snuck out. She sounds calm, but Junpei’s been on the wrong end of a lecture from her often enough to tell the difference between ‘actually calm’ and ‘so ice-cold angry that it looped all the way back around’.
She apparently doesn’t get any helpful answers from any of the doctors. Between the time she turns away from them and the moment she rejoins their group, all of that terrifying anger has drained right out of her and she just looks worried and scared. Actually, seeing Kirijo-senpai scared like this is kind of terrifying too, in a completely different way.
“I know I promised you all answers, and I’m so sorry–”
“It’s okay, Kirijo-senpai,” Yuka-tan interrupts. “We need to find Amada-kun, that takes priority.”
“I know where to find him,” Sanada-san says. His voice sounds a lot stronger than Junpei’s heard it all day, almost like his normal self. “I can go get Amada while you and the doctors fill everyone in like you planned, Mitsuru.”
“Wait, you know?” Junpei exclaims. “How the hell do you know? You didn’t see him run off, did you?” How can he suddenly sound so confident?
“No, of course not,” he replies, looking irritated. “I just– have a feeling that I know what he’s thinking, and where that would take him.”
“Should I come with you, Sanada-senpai?” Fuuka says. “If he’s not where you think he is after all, I could–”
“You don’t need to,” Sanada-san says bluntly, then immediately looks like he feels bad about it. “I appreciate the offer, Yamagishi,” he continues in a much gentler tone. “If I’m wrong, I’ll call and we can figure out a plan to search for him.”
It’s not like Sanada-san to be all cryptic like this, and Junpei can’t say he’s a huge fan of it. But since he's not usually like this, that must mean that there’s a reason he’s being this way now, right?
“You’re certain you want to do this alone, Akihiko?” Kirijo-senpai asks.
“I am. And I think– I think it should be me.” Whatever that means?
“Alright. Let us know when you find him, and whether the two of you will be meeting us back here or at the dorms.”
Sanada-san nods, looking determined. After a moment, though, some worry creeps back into his expression. “Watch over Shinji for me, Mitsuru,” he says quietly. Kirijo-senpai touches his shoulder.
“I will,” is all she says out loud, but they’re doing that senpai telepathy thing again. He can’t tell what they’re saying over their weird psychic link this time, though. After a second, Kirijo-senpai drops her hand, and Sanada-san leaves for wherever he’s so sure Amada is.
“Alright,” Kirijo-senpai sighs. “Let’s head to Aragaki’s room, and then I’ll explain everything to the best of my ability, as promised.”

Tatsumi Port Memorial Hospital
“What do you mean transferred!?”
Yukari Takeba stands in the hallway of the hospital, quivering. It is graduation day, and the old members of S.E.E.S, after an hour of debate, have agreed to come visit the Arisato twins to tell them and catch them up on the goings-ons of the city.
Only to find out that the twins had been transferred to a different hospital.
“Takeba-san, please calm down! Kirijo-sama approved it!” The doctor pleads, and Yukari turns her wrath and despair upon her girlfriend, the esteemed head of the Kirijo group.
“You approved it!? Why!?” She demands, eyes flashing. Mitsuru remains ever calm, gently placing a hand on Yukari’s shoulder.
“They were running out of room in the LTAC, and their conditions were stable, so I had them transferred to Inaba Muncipal Hospital- they had plenty of open rooms to take care of the twins.”
Fuuka hums thoughtfully, her head tilted slightly like she would when using Juno back in the days of the Dark Hour and Tartarus. Both eradicated thanks to the sacrifice of the twins. “Inaba, huh...? That isn’t too far from here. Maybe we can visit once we’re all settled down and free?”
Aigis nods, staring wistfully at the door to the Arisatos’ old room. She had been looking forward to seeing them for a week, planning to visit them immediately after the ceremony to tell them she had graduated alongside Yukari, Junpei, Fuuka and Shinjiro (and to tell them he had to redo his third year because of everything. They’d probably poke fun at him, but be proud nonetheless that he made the choice- and succeeded in it.)
“Yes,” she says, really not paying attention. “Maybe.”

Inaba Muncipal Hospital
In Inaba, a boy arrives to town after dreaming of a long-nosed man and a bright blue limousine. He shakes the hand of a goddess at a gas station, and is awakened to the powers of the Wildcard.
Across town, two Wilcards open their eyes as the hands of the boy and goddess meet. Their hands find each other in their own handshake, their hearts racing in unison and their chests rising and falling as though they share a pair of lungs.
They remain like that until a nurse comes in and tells a doctor. In three days’ time, they will be discharged and sent with all their belongings to a house bought and paid for by a company called the Kirijo group.
Perhaps the Dark Hour does have some perks.
June 5th, 2011
Junes Food Court
“Man... I’m not the only one who thinks those two from our third year are weird as hell, am I?”
Yosuke lounges back in his chair at the special headquarters, melon soda in his hand.
Chie shakes her head. “No, it isn’t just you for once. I know I can’t really judge, but... Isn’t it kinda strange how they just sorta showed up one day?”
“Uh... You’re talkin’ about the Arisato-senpais, right?” Kanji asks, and Souji nods.
“They were comatose for a while, but woke up the day I got here. I don’t know much about it, but... They seem nice.”
He glances away, not mentioning his social link with them. They really are quite nice, always giving him advice and sometimes even offfering to train with him when they aren’t busy beating the crap out of each other on the outskirts of town near their house.
But they also seem to know more about him than they let on. Makoto sometimes mentions the arcana of one of the members of the team, and Kotone often mentions her old senpais and Shadows.
It’s disconcerting, to say the least, and paired with their own arcana...
He makes a mental note then, as he remembers, to talk to Igor about it. Ask him what in the hell the Universe arcana means, and if he needs to worry about it.
He snaps back to reality as Yukiko begins to talk.
“I’m not one for gossip, but don’t you think it’s a little strange how they always seem to be training with those weapons of theirs? I mean, there’s nothing wrong with it, of course! It’s just...”
“It’s just that it’s all the time, right? I get it. Sure, they’re our senpais, but there’s no harm in just talking about their weird  behaviour between ourselves, right?” Yosuke says, chair squeaking beneath him.
“Oh, here they come now!” Chie says, and begins digging into her steak. Souji looks up from his soda to see Kotone-senpai shouting to Makoto-senpai.
“Come on, hurry up! You’re the one who neglected studying!”
Makoto-senpai slouches further, shoving one hand into his pocket. His headphones dangle from his neck, swinging with his every movement. Kotone-senpai’s own mirror his, bouncing wildly with her erratic movements as she practically drags him to a chair.
“Kotone, is this really necessary? I mean, Gekkoukan’s exams are way harder, and we’re both...”
Their voices fade into the background of Souji’s mind. Something isn’t right. TV static fades in and out as he zones out, wracking his brain for the source of this sudden gut feeling.
It started exactly when he became aware of the twins and their existence. Somehow, he feels a terrifyingly strong presence from them, as though the bond he’s formed with them isn’t just affecting his abilities.
But that shouldn’t be possible, a little voice inside tells him. Neither of them have a Persona.
But what if they did, he thinks. What if they did have Personas, what if they knew about what the team is doing?
“—Earth to Souji, do you copy?”
Souji looks up from the table, blinking as Yosuke retracts his hand.
“Hm? Sorry, I... Zoned out there. What’s up?” He says, playing it off. Playing off the sick feeling roiling in his gut, the sudden fight-or-flight that rises in his throat and threatens to choke him. He needs to visit the TV world. He needs to blow off some steam, he needs to get up and do something before he explodes.
“We were asking if you had anything planned for this afternoon. Y’know, in case we wanted to do a bit of, uh, browsing,” Yosuke says. Souji silently thanks his partner, catches his eye and tries to convey his gratitude with his gaze. Yosuke just grins a bit, and it sends butterflies fluttering in his stomach- which quickly get disintegrated by the venom bubbling there.
“Sure, let’s go browsing. Might be fun,” he says, shrugging off the feelings.
As the group head down towards the electronics section, Souji swears he can feel two pairs of eyes watching him leave.
P3 x P4 CONTENT WOOOOOO!!! the arisato twins being tranferred to inaba after the whole nyx situation and souji just. feels so weird towards them. they're the fucking UNIVERSE arcana?!!! WHAT IS HE SUPPOSED TO DO WITH THAT INFORMATION. and hes just so confused that these random transfer students have this much power radiating from them?? they seem completely normal but souji is so focused on them since they're such an anomaly....

Mmm... 📝 + Persona (3 specifically?)? You've talked about it before, but don't have anyone from it on the blog right now, so!
Send me “📝 + (fandom)” and I’ll reply with a character I would RP from that fandom
---
// PERSONA 3 YAAAAAAAAAAAAA
god. for all i love it for and the several fics i've written with the cast there, i'm no longer sure i can do them justice.
ken amada was (briefly) on this blog before, and i have written him a few times too. and while i think he's interesting and fun and i like his role in P3, he's... idk how to express this well, but demure is the word that comes to mind?
he tries too hard to be mature in front of others, and that kinda makes him probably pretty publicly palatable. with closer confidants, he's a little more willing to show childishness, he's got a strong sense of justice, and if riled up enough he'll show emotions strongly to anyone. but if not, he feels like he's pretty private at best, or maybe shallow at worst. doesn't talk much about himself, discusses only mundane things for the most part, etc, etc.
ryoji mochizuki is someone i'm a sucker for, being unwilling harbinger of the end and also death itself who genuinely cherishes life and humanity. he also doesn't start off knowing he's death?? and is kinda puzzled but amused by aigis instantly having some serious beef with him despite neither of them knowing why she's so uneasy around him.
he's close to the protagonist, male or female—fucker says something along the lines of "I’d still feel the same about you whether you were a guy or a girl" and he doesn't eVEN GET A SOCIAL LINK IF YOU'RE THE MALE PROTAG—and wants the best for them. he's hopeful and bright and cheerful (even if perhaps an obnoxious flirt) in a time for SEES that's still weighed heavy by deaths and general hopelessness stemming from not knowing what they can do now after realizing they've been used to bring about the end. and that contrast is nice.
also. here. he tells SEES not to fight. it's a hopeless endeavor; no one can win against death. it's easier to lie down and take it, forget it's looming over them so they can enjoy what little time they have left in peace. they just have to kill him. the physical, almost human representation of death—their friend, for some—in front of them. most balk at this. he backs down, saying they have a little time to think about it, but he truly truly does not want them to suffer, for they've suffered enough and he does love them so very much.
he truly believes that making them forget, and letting death come for all while they're blissfully unaware, is a mercy. but he does not push them. he does his part to try and convince them on the last day he can, but when it's everyone but the protagonist that's made their resolution to fight, he turns to them and asks them to kill him. beg, almost. he doesn't want them to suffer. but (in the actual ending, anyway), the protagonist doesn't. he finally accepts that then, and gives what little advice he offer so they can prepare for that final impossible battle.
and that's the last of him as himself tbh. as the nyx avatar, though, during the stand against the fall, doomsday, the coming of death, when they make the avatar buckle... he laments that the fall wouldn't have happened if just more people were willing to fight, to live instead of wishing for death, and i just...
he makes me feel things.

@epitomees sent: 💋 (For one robot maiden please~)
The first 5 Asks to send 💋 get a kiss (2/5)
Tumblr media
It was the first time he had been able to come here since the promised day. At that time, he had thought his last moments would be here. Staring up at the blue sky and surrounded by the people he loved. After that, Makoto shut his eyes and never expected to see the sky again.
But it was above him now as he sat down in the very spot he had sworn would be the place he would die. His body was so weak now and climbing the stairs had exhausted him. Though, it wasn't nearly as bad as that day. He had been so tired then.
He struggled to catch his breath. While Makoto was still on leave from school, it was nice to see it again. This place held so many memories for him and he actually wanted to start going back. Even if his time was limited and he didn't know when it would be over. He had even been getting notes from Fuuka and Yukari so he could keep up with lessons.
Despite sitting down, the world seemed to spin for a moment and he started to fall. Only to be caught by his companion. Aigis' worried gaze was more beautiful than the sky, and Makoto smiles softly despite how ill he felt.
"Do you remember...?" He asks quietly, adjusting himself more steadily on the seat to prevent him from having that happen again. He gently takes her hand in his and tugs on it to get her to sit beside him. "This is where you first... Told me how you felt about me."
Feelings that had been blossoming inside of him for a long time. There was no rhyme or reason. He couldn't think of a reason why he started to love Aigis the way he had... But he did. And every extra moment they got to spend together was a blessing to him.
Tumblr media
His smile fades. There is... so much guilt. He knew this must take a lot out of her. The uncertainty. The fact that she had to take care of him so much. It was cruel for him to stick around, huh? Sometimes he wondered that... If it would be a relief when he finally died.
"I worry sometimes that I'm making things harder for everyone... You especially." He confesses. "I love you, Aigis. Every extra moment we get to share is... worth every bit of pain to me." And his existence was full of pain and misery. But it was worth it.
His fingers trace her cheek softly, he looks into her eyes. For a moment, his own grey eyes are painted with melancholy. Love, sure, but also sorrow and guilt.
Slowly, he moves closer. Lips touching hers as if she is so delicate. As if he is afraid of breaking her. He doesn't push or kiss her deeply. It is simple and uncertain. He doesn't know if he is being kind or cruel to her with his love.
And when his lips part from hers, they linger close by. His heart feels heavy. "I don't want... to hold you back." He says quietly. "You're special to me, Aigis." His fingers tangle in the fabric of her jacket as he grips it with a trembling hand.
"Are you... happy with things like this....?" He loves her so much. But he didn't know how to love or be loved. He didn't know if he was doing it right.

Yesterday on P3R: like three hours in Tartarus, Secret Meetings, and spending more time with Koromaru than anyone else.
I have made it to floor 100! It was like floor 109 by the time I left, but I was very proud. And kind of surprised that there was nothing weird on floor 100. But hey, bringing Koromaru along is reward enough.
Tumblr media
Also did a bunch more persona fusions, so I’ve got a new fusion spell. All of my fusion spells so far other than Orpheus’s are Frosts. It’s very silly. XD
Tumblr media
He’s so big. XD
Anyway, it’s been like 3 hours, everyone is low on stamina, time to head back and get back into the social link grind.
Tumblr media
...are you serious??? We were literally there ALL NIGHT, when did someone wander in???? Ffs. X’D
Oh well. Later. Right now we’re going out for ramen with my rival track bro. Apparently every single restaurant in the mall lets him eat for free.
Tumblr media
Dude, seriously, what the heck? Although… I’m getting some vibes that this guy probably doesn’t have a great home situation. So it’s probably a good thing that he’s at least getting regular meals. There really are good people in this city.
Junpei is off hanging out at the mall, and has noticed someone new and interesting! There’s a girl sketching, and she basically brushes him off and tells him to move out of the way when he goes to see how she’s doing.
Tumblr media
She wasn’t with Takaya and Jin when they locked us in the military base, so poor Junpei has no way of knowing that this is one of Strega’s members. :/ He has a point about her outfit, though. Even Mitsuru was complaining about how hot it is today.
I arrived home to find Aigis engaged in a stern discussion with Koromaru about how he is not allowed to take himself on walks. Apparently Akihiko was supposed to take him, and has not returned home yet, so because Aigis ALSO can’t go out without supervision yet, it falls to me to take him.
Which is not a hardship at all because he is the bestest boy.
However, on our walk, we ran into Takaya, who is just… openly wandering around without a shirt and carrying a gun even during normal hours. Koromaru doesn’t like him instinctively, but he says he just wants to talk, so we head up to the shrine. He wants information.
Tumblr media
It’d be a lot more fair if you’d get your hand off your gun. I know that one is real.
But, he says I can ask him a question first.
Tumblr media
Well… they don’t really seem to have some grand goal in mind. And they’re getting in our way because they don’t want us to destroy Tartarus and the Dark Hour. So…
Tumblr media
Hahaha, very funn-- Okay, actually, he’s joking, but it would be funnier if it was true and only Minato thought he was shirtless.
Basically, he wants to know why we’re so determined to throw away our powers. He says that if it’s because of the shadows, that’s the wrong way to look at it. He explicitly compares shadows killing people to car accidents. Plenty of people die in car accidents every year, but we’re not trying to destroy cars.
(Which is a half-valid point if you ignore the fact that the Dark Hour only exists because of mad scientists, and also some of those people who die during the Dark Hour are because of Takaya shooting them.)
Tumblr media
...funny you should say that, since out of everyone in SEES, Mina is the least likely to care about anything, at least in the beginning.
Tumblr media
Not wrong, technically. Like, yeah. You don’t have to help. But you’re also not the sole arbiters of what to do about everything, and your opinion would probably have more weight if you hadn’t already locked us in an underground facility to starve to death.
He does note how special Minato’s power is compared to everyone else. He really doesn’t get why Mina, specifically, would want to give all of that up.
Tumblr media
……it’s not the blessing you think it is, my dude.
Anyway, he hands off a piece of paper with some info as repayment for helping him out before, and heads out. He really did just want to talk, which is… refreshing. Like, Strega is not a bunch of indiscriminate madmen. We’re still going to be enemies, but they’re not monsters.
Tumblr media
“Test subjects”, huh? So Grandpa Kirijo was into human experimentation, too. Great.
Fuck it, I’m going home to brush Koromaru.
Tumblr media
He’s soft and shiny~ But we can’t stay here all night, sadly. Time to stop, boy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
...okay, fine, a little longer.
The bookstore isn’t ready to rank up yet, so I head out again with Mamoru. I’m learning a lot more about his family situation.
Tumblr media
I’m assuming he’s pushing himself so hard because he wants a scholarship. I get the vibe that the family doesn’t have much money. And unfortunately, his father is dead. Which, dude, I’m so sorry. That’s terrib--
Tumblr media
…………okay I might be going to hell because I snorted a little bit. It’s just so abrupt. A cliff? Where are there cliffs?? X’’’’D I’m still sorry for your loss but omg.
Having Koromaru in the dorm means you can pet him and shake paws. 10/10, no notes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And I opted to spend the next day with him, because he likes to chill out front and people-watch.
Tumblr media
An old man who used to be friends with the priest came by, and he told us that Koromaru had been taken in by someone else once before, but he always kept going back to the shrine. Now that he’s staying with us, it’s because he’s chosen to be here. We’re his family now.
He makes us promise to take care of each other, and… I can do that. For sure.

Lives on the Line; Winner Takes All - Chapter 4 Preview
The Boy Who Cried Wolf
Unfortunately, as the entire team soon found out, neither scouting team that had been deployed were able to find anything. There was no other exit from the dorm, no connections to other places. No way out.
“So, we’re kind of screwed, aren’t we?” said Junpei bluntly. That wouldn’t be the way that Aigis phrased it. Perhaps Minato would agree if he was in charge, but he was currently unconscious in a hospital bed and didn’t have much of an input. Even so, Aigis could practically hear him say it.
“Not even we move quickly,” said Mitsuru. With her order, Junpei, Ken and Koromaru would be joining the rest on the front lines to search through the Abyss of Time. Aigis felt a little relief. Having more members in her squad would lead to more manpower, as well as more pairs of eyes to help in the investigation.
“What about Shinji?” asked Akihiko. Shinjiro Aragaki was one of the heaviest hitters on the team. Emphasis on the was.
Which would be why Mitsuru’s reply was: “Shinjiro is staying here. He won’t be fighting.”
Shinjiro looked at Mitsuru with wide eyes and genuine surprise. “What?”
“May I remind you that you’re still recovering from being shot with silver?” Shinjiro opened his mouth to argue with her, but a single red-eyed glare from Mitsuru was enough to get him to clamp his mouth shut. “Metis brought you down fairly quickly just by using that injury against you. You were also discharged from the hospital only a few days ago. You’re staying here. End of discussion. You’ll be able to help me search.” Shinjiro grumbled something under his breath, but there was no arguing against Mitsuru. It was a losing fight.
And so, the group was split. Shinjiro stayed behind with Mitsuru and Fuuka to search through the command room. Those that remained dove back into the Abyss of Time. Like before, all of the doors in the desert area were locked. All except one. And that was the one that they entered.
Junpei let out a yelp as something rushed past him as soon as they entered. He stumbled back into Yukari and Aigis, nearly knocking the two over in the process. It was because of that that Aigis couldn’t get a clear read on the figure. All she could pick up was that it was feminine in appearance, and a blur of auburn and pink as it ran down the hall.
“What was that?!” Junpei exclaimed as he was righted and the rest of the team flooded into the new space behind him.
“It’s… I don’t think it’s a Shadow,” said Akihiko, “but we’ve been chasing it for a while.” Aigis kept quiet. Should she really say something about it…? Before she could make up her mind, Koromaru let out a bark. He dashed off after the Shadow without a care or an order.
“Koromaru!” Ken called, but the familiar didn’t come back. The werewolf boy chased after him, and the rest of the party followed with Junpei taking to the air to move faster.
“If that thing isn’t a Shadow, then what the heck is it?!” asked Junpei
“Why are you asking us?” said Yukari, offended. “We don’t even know!”
“It’s just a question!”
“It’s a…” Ryoji began, beginning to slow and fall behind the rest. “I think it might be a Shadow, but…”
Junpei stared down at his friend, confused. “Ryoji?”
“I just…” Ryoji groaned, dragging a hand down his face. Was he frustrated? Confused? …possibly both?
“It does not seem to be the same one that we saw before,” said Aigis. While her scan wasn’t exactly clear, it wasn’t hard to piece together the similarities to one person she knew with what she had. “This one looked more like Kotone-san.” Behind her, Akihiko stumbled and nearly fell on his face.
“So there’s more than one of them?!” Yukari exclaimed. When Aigis nodded, the harpy groaned and dragged a hand down her face. “Well, that makes me feel better…”
“Y’know, being sarcastic doesn’t suit you at all, Yuka-tan,” said Junpei. “That’s more Mina—”
“Shut up.”
The full chapter will be up on Ao3 on July 29th!

House Isekai: A Realm Reborn - Part 1, Old Places and New Faces (2 of 2)
House Isekai ARR Masterlist Here
Tumblr media
Upon their return to Fodlan, Kazuma, Rean, Towa, and Aigis have found that it has changed drastically. Whether it was for better or worse, was unknown.
After reuniting Sitri and meeting the second generation of Garreg Mach students, the four make their way once more into the Zanado Tower...
Class VII pressed onwards as they looked at the environment constantly shifting around them.
Colossal platforms flew past them with lights flickering to life.
Altina struggled to process it all, so much information was flowing in at once.
Kurt tried his best to ignore the fantastical sights around him and tried to find an exit.
All he found were several crates with notes scattered on them and massive doorways.
Many of the platforms moved higher up into the room, but he had no idea where that would lead, so he avoided them.
(Juna) "K-Kurt? Do we know where we're going?"
(Kurt) "N-...No."
(Ash) "It'll probably be fine. Rean went through here right?"
(Musse) "Maybe? Where is everyone?"
(Altina) "...I seem to detect life forms?"
(Kurt) "Friendly?"
(Altina) "Unknown. None match Instru-...Hold on a moment."
(Everyone) ?
(Altina) "I am sensing Instructor Rean's presence. It is near the very top of this...building?"
(Musse) "Hm...I'm worried about the other ones."
(Juna) "Same here. We all got our weapons right?"
Class VII nodded and drew their weapons, keeping it at the ready.
(Juna) "Whew, least we're not totally unprepared."
"ALERT! ALERT!"
The five of them quickly moved closer together, looking around the area and trying to find the voice.
"THREAT DETECTED, UNKNOWN SIGNATURES DETECTED, ENGAGING SECURITY MEASURES."
(Kurt) "Is...it talking about us?"
(Ash) "If it is, then we better shut up and get out of here."
[A Long Fall - Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers OST]
Tumblr media
Sitri and the others stepped into Tower and heard the alert blare throughout the area.
(Kazuma) "The hell?"
Aigis turned back and looked at the Garreg Mach students and frowning.
(Aigis) "Is it detecting us?"
(Helena) "Considering this is our first time here, probably."
(Kairos) "W-WHAT IN THE WORLD?!"
(Elizabeth) "What is this place?!"
(Astrid) "It's so...bright!"
(Stefan) "Yeah, the glowing crystals are kinda hurting my eyes..."
(Sitri) "This is the Zanado Tower. It's where House Isekai came from, what I can understand anyway."
(Helena) "That the truth?"
Helena turned to the four.
(Towa) "We think so?"
(Rean) "Honestly, the details are a bit lost on us as well."
(Kazuma) "The only person that knew that much was Sothis and Byleth and..."
Their faces showed a hint of sadness before Elizabeth brought up another question, not noticing their shift when mentioning Byleth.
(Elizabeth) "S-So, this is where that creature was sighted? How do we even begin covering this large of an area with our small number?"
(Sitri) "W-Well...Um..."
KABOOM!
(Everyone) !?
(Rean) "Think that's our culprit?"
(Towa) "I can't think of anyone else that could be here!"
(Sitri) "Everyone, move out!"
...
Tumblr media
(Buck) "Ach, damn it!"
Buck waved away the smoke that was covering the area.
(Mickey) "H-Hey, at least we got the door open, right? Even if it was a little too much."
(Dutch) "Doubt using 7 explosive charges is considered "a little"."
The massive door in front of them was completely blown into pieces, the debris scattering everywhere, and some falling into the cavern beneath them.
Romeo checked the scope of his sniper and put one finger on the trigger.
(Mickey) "If that alert was about us, then it's going to get even more pissed off."
(Dutch) "Every security system must know where we're at now."
(Buck) "All the more reason to get our asses moving, now-"
Buck turned back to the hole in the door before noticing something on his visor.
The motion tracker was detecting several things coming to them, and he quickly motioned backwards to the cover they were using from the door breach.
Everyone got their weapons pointed at the door waiting for them.
(Buck) "On my mark..."
From the smoke, several figures emerged wielding all sorts of weapons ranging from swords to bows.
And it was then the squad's visors picked up the outline of them, they were human.
(Buck) "HOLD IT RIGHT THERE!"
...
Amber kept her bow trained on the four hiding behind cover, waiting for instruction.
(Duvalie) "They're human...I think?"
(Kaeya) "Never seen that armor before."
(Lisa) "Jean, dear?"
(Jean) "Who are you all?"
Her eyes drifted to the massive hole behind them. How could they have caused an explosion that big?
If she said the wrong thing, they could be killed.
(Buck) "Sergeant Gunnery Buck, and this is my squad! UNSC, Helljumpers! How 'bout you miss, we on the same side?"
(Jean) "My name is Jean, of the Knights of Favonius!"
Buck looked at his other squadmates and they shrugged.
(Buck) "You folks happen to know where we are?"
(Jean) "I'm afraid we do not. But we are allies, not enemies if that is what you're wondering."
Romeo examined every one of them as Buck was speaking to them. They didn't seem to be dressed for battle. In fact, the green one that looked like a girl had a damn instrument, not a weapon.
And the purple woman with the witch hat only had a book.
(Mickey) "Frankly, I say we don't take the chance."
(Dutch) "Yeah, great idea, kill the only things that HASN'T tried to kill us."
(Buck) "Alright. We believe ya. Stand down."
The squad nodded and stood up, the Knights of Favonius stepping forward.
(Jean) "I think it's plain to see we're...both out of our element."
(Buck) "Seems like it. As I said, call me Buck, and these are my men."
(Mickey) "Mickey."
(Dutch) "Name's Dutch. Pleasure."
(Romeo) "..."
Buck's visor became see-through, his face being visible as he turned to face Romeo.
(Buck) "What's the matter? Helmet turned off?"
Romeo shrugged.
(Venti) "Um, is he okay?"
(Buck) "Oh, I get it. Permission to speak. Smartass."
(Romeo) "Name's Romeo, ladies."
He turned to face Jean, Lisa, Duvalie and Amber.
Rolling her eyes, Duvalie butted into the conversation.
(Duvalie) "Ugh, keep it to yourself. Anyways, I'm Duvalie, head knight of the Stahlritter."
(Mickey) "Thought you were with the...whatever you guys were called."
(Kaeya) "Favonius. Actually, she's from another world, as I'm assuming you all are. Kaeya, by the way."
Buck examined their clothing again and when he started to think on it, no human from their world, no matter the planet, would wear something so outlandish as that, especially in the middle of a war.
(Diluc) "...Diluc."
(Venti) "I'm Venti!"
(Amber) "Amber, hope we get along!"
(Lisa) "And I'm Lisa. All of us except Duvalie are together."
(Romeo) "Before we get caught in a never ending cycle of introductions, can we get the hell out of here before anymore of those things show up?"
(Jean) "You've seen them too?"
(Buck) "Weird glowy blue gnome looking things?"
(Duvalie) "The hell is a gnome?"
(Lisa) "Let's put it this way to make sure we're on the same page, were they carrying a staff and rather short?"
(Dutch) "Those are the ones, ma'am."
(Diluc) "Abyss mages are attacking them too..."
(Kaeya) "Think Romeo had a point, we'll discuss this once we're in relative safety, we were nearing the exit I believe, before you all blew a hole through that door."
(Mickey) "Hey, we had to get in somehow!"
(Buck) "Hold up, we weren't going to leave just yet. There was a group of kids that was making their way upwards."
(Amber) "Kids? We didn't see anyone else on the way."
(Romeo) "Oh, right. They just got here. I'm all for saving them, but we barely managed to get away from those mage things. Our bullets didn't seem to do anything."
Jean held her rapier and nodded.
(Jean) "Allow us to take care of it with you. Change of plans, we're headed back in."
She stood next to Buck as he darkened his visor and checked his assault rifle.
(Buck) "After you, miss Jean."
...
Rean was the first one through the hole in the door and looked around, no one appeared to be there.
Everyone else stepped forward weapons drawn, and it was now Rean noticed what everyone was carrying.
Sitri had the Sword of the Creator, Kairos and Elizabeth had spellbooks, Helena had a knife, Astrid held a lance, and Stefan wielded an axe.
The students appeared to have no hesitation about their weapon of choice, but Sitri was slightly trembling.
It was clear she had done some training with a sword, and yet...
He shook his head, now wasn't the time to be focusing on that.
(Aigis) "I am detecting several lifeforms down below."
Aigis turned to her right and looked at the glowing circle-like shape at the end of the walkway.
(Towa) "Anyone familiar?"
(Aigis) "...Negative."
(Kazuma) "Then let's get down there, maybe the little shits that caused this are close by, considering how recent that explosion was."
(Sitri) "Right, let's try to find a way down."
Sitri and the Garreg Mach students stepped near the circular platform while the former House Isekai members examined the explosion hole.
(Aigis) "These explosions appear to be made from devices similar to C4..."
(Kazuma) "What, these guys packing modern day weapons too?"
(Rean) "What's C4?"
(Aigis) "Small explosive charges that you can put on virtually any surface."
(Towa) "Something that small can cause that much damage?!"
Meanwhile, Elizabeth was examining the glowing circular platform with the other students and Sitri close to her.
(Helena) "What is it?
(Elizabeth) "I'm not sure...Maybe it's some kind of-"
Elizabeth put her hand on the platform, which made it glow an even brighter orange as it catapulted the group forward to the other walkway, causing them to scream.
Rean and the others turned their direction and saw them land on a platform which began to move away.
(Kazuma) "AW SHIT, SITRI!"
(Towa) "THE STUDENTS!"
(Rean) "After them!"
Before they could move any further, they heard strange noises behind them, which made them draw their weapons...
...
When Kairos got up and saw the moving platform, he immediately turned to Elizabeth.
(Kairos) "GREAT JOB, YOU IDIOT!"
(Elizabeth) "D-Don't you yell at me with that tone! How was I supposed to know that-"
(Helena) "Both of you shut up. Focus."
She held onto her knife tighter as she realized the platform was heading downwards.
(Sitri) "Is everyone alright?"
(Astrid) "Just fine, Lady Sitri. Can't say we'll be that way for long.
(Stefan) "We're going deeper into the tower, is that a bad thing?"
(Sitri) "This is my first time in the Tower when it wasn't being controlled by memories, so I'm not sure..."
(Kairos) "Fantastic..."
Elizabeth had a mind to slap Kairos but kept it to herself, instead examining just how far down they were going...
...
Class VII moved even quicker after hearing the explosion, trying to find anything resembling stairs since they were unsure about the elevators.
(Musse) "I don't think we have any other way up."
(Juna) "Maybe we can-"
BOOM! BOOM!
Two gunshots roared through the area, with a thud echoing and signaling that someone or something was brutally killed.
Kurt motioned forward and Class VII turned the corner to see a massive man clad in yellow armor, towering over some strange creature.
It was short, fat, and blue. It was uttering some language they didn't understand before the soldier stomped on its head, crushing it.
Class VII drew their weapons and the yellow soldier turned to face them.
(Yellow Soldier) "...Children?"
The soldier eyed them up and down, trying to identify them as Class VII did the same.
The armor he was wearing looked heavy and durable, being wide as some of the doorways they passed through. He stood at around 8 feet, holding a rifle as big as his chest.
(Kurt) "...What was that thing you killed?"
The soldier turned to the creature and shrugged, the shoulder pauldrons moving up and down was the only indication he did so since his armor was so massive.
(Yellow Soldier) "Most likely some form of xenos. It opened fire as soon as it saw me, so I purged it. Better I have done so since children are in the area."
He turned to face them.
(Yellow Soldier) "Though you are far from defenseless it seems."
Kurt didn't put away his weapons, and neither did anyone else.
(Yellow Soldier) "...I am Raelyn. Raelyn Amuto, Adeptus Astartes."
(Juna) "You're a...what now?"
(Altina) "Does not match any known organization in Erebonia."
(Musse) "Not ringing a bell for me either..."
(Raelyn) "...You are?"
(Kurt) "We are Class VII, part of Thor's Military Academy, Branch Campus."
Raelyn lowered his rifle, the helmet's unblinking lenses seemingly staring straight into them.
(Raelyn) "We are Space Marines, mankind's greatest warriors."
(Ash) "Evidently."
(Raelyn) "Do you know the area I am in?"
(Kurt) "Not a clue. We were following our Instructor to find out where he went, and we ended up here."
(Raelyn) "Hmph. Stay behind me. I do not know what awaits us-"
He stuck a hand outwards as he noticed a platform moving downwards. Everyone readied their weapons again, and keeping it on them seeing another group land in front of them.
(Buck) "Hey, those are the kids! And...!"
(Kaeya) "Looks like they already met one of the Abyss mages."
(Mickey) "Goddamn, that is some armor!"
(Raelyn) "Guardsmen? And..."
He lowered his weapon, though Class VII didn't.
(Jean) "Before you ask, we are not enemies, and we are just as lost as you all."
Dutch turned to the knights and noticed Duvalie had her sword still up.
(Dutch) "What's the deal with her?"
(Venti) "Huh? Duvalie what's wrong-"
(Duvalie) "THOSE BRATS, THAT'S WHATS WRONG!"
(Altina) "Threat detected."
Class VII and Duvalie stood off against each other.
(Raelyn) "...It's safe to assume you are acquainted then."
(Kurt) "She tried to kill our class, our instructor and HIS class."
Jean frowned and turned to her.
(Jean) "You told me you were a knight of justice."
(Duvalie) "I-I am!"
(Buck) "Everyone, stand down! This pissing match is only going to slow us down!"
Buck saw the corpse of the Abyss Mage and sighed.
(Buck) "And it's clear you've already met the things trying to kill all of us. I don't know your histories, but that doesn't matter for right now! Let's get out of here and THEN you all can-"
Another platform landed behind Buck, making everyone turn around.
(Sitri) "U-Um...!"
(Helena) "Oh crap."
(Kairos) "I swear to the Goddess, Elizabeth-"
(Elizabeth) "WILL YOU SHUT UP?!"
Stefan gulped and adjusted his helmet.
(Astrid) "Uh...hi?"
(Everyone) ...
(Amber) "Hello!"
(Romeo) "For god's sake-."
(Juna) "Just how many of us are lost down here?!"
(Sitri) "Um..."
Sitri took a deep breath and tried her best to look confident.
(Sitri) "My name is Sitri, leader of Garreg Mach, and you're in our world. If you want answers, please come with us."
The students stared at her as if she were crazy.
(Kairos) "What?!"
(Elizabeth) "Look how many of them are here, I don't like these offworlders any more than you do, but we need to NOT piss them off, as you are very much pissing me off!"
(Helena) "You're not doing much better yourself-"
(Stefan) "H-Helena please that is NOT helping!"
(Astrid) "ANYWAYS! You want answers, we got it! Please let's just get out of here!"
Everyone looked at each other.
There was an awkward silence before Raelyn stepped forward first.
(Raelyn) "Very well, Sitri. Lead the way."
(Sitri) "Well um... we don't know the way up."
Jean motioned everyone to her, and they all stood together as the platform's lights pulsated quietly.
They sheathed their weapons and quietly looked out in front of them, staring at the massive crystal in the middle of the room.
Just where was this, and why were they brought here?
What were those creatures attacking everyone?
And what is Garreg Mach?
Hopefully soon, they would have answers to all these questions, and find a way back home...
...
...
...
(Altina) "...We are not moving."
(Duvalie) "Gee, I couldn't tell."
(Lisa) "Dears, what's the holdup?"
(Stefan) "D-Don't look at us!"
(Raelyn) "Are there too many on top of this?"
(Buck) "Dutch, the button?"
(Dutch) "Oh, sorry."
Beep!
...
Aigis blocked an ice spike that was aimed at Towa with her Persona, Athena easily blocking it with her shield.
Towa took another potshot with her pistol, but it was stopped by some icy aura surrounding the Abyss Mage as it danced along, taunting them.
Rean and Kazuma swung their weapons at it, but were deflected and sent flying back.
(Aigis) "None of our attacks are working!"
(Towa) "W-What do we do?!"
(Kazuma) "Do we hit it harder?"
(Rean) "Heed my call...!-"
Whirrrrrrr...!
(Everyone) !
Everyone, including the Abyss Mage, looked back to the walkway and saw a platform that carried a large amount of people unload, everyone drawing their weapons.
(Altina) "Instructor!"
(Rean) "What in the-What are you all-"
(Buck) "There's those sons of bitches!"
(Raelyn) "PURGE IT IN THE EMPEROR'S NAME!"
The Abyss Mage screamed in terror as those with guns opened fire, it quickly teleporting away from the massive group.
(Diluc) "Damn it, it got away!"
(Aigis) "...No other presence detected besides us. It appears we are safe for now."
(Kazuma) "Tch, wanted to show that asshole a thing or two, now...'
The four looked at the group and to Sitri. Towa and Reans' eyes were glued to Duvalie, her taking notice as well.
(Aigis) "...Are these friends?"
(Jean) "I hope we can be."
(Kairos) "They better."
(Rean) "Uh..."
(Duvalie) "NOT. A WORD."
Sitri took a step back as everyone scattered to their respective group.
Duvalie stood with the ODST's and Raelyn while the Knights of Favonius stood by themselves.
Class VII followed Rean and Towa, as the students of Garreg Mach got near Sitri and each other.
(Kaeya) "Quite the odd group we have lined up."
(Buck) "I can't help but feel like we're out of place."
(Raelyn) "Agreed..."
(Duvalie) "Of all the people, it had to be YOU."
(Rean) "G-Great to see you too, Duvalie."
Sitri trembled slightly before feeling a hand on her shoulder. Turning behind her, she saw Sothis smiling.
(Sothis) "Don't worry. I've seen this happen before, and I know what can get them together real quick."
Kazuma noticed Sothis talking to Sitri, but considering how on edge everyone was, he decided not to say anything.
(Kazuma) Please have a good idea, Sothis...
(Sitri) "I-If I could have everyone's attention!"
Everyone turned to face her, which made Sitri silent for a moment, but after putting her hand on her chest, she looked more determined than ever.
(Sitri) "I know everyone is terribly confused on where they are and what's happening. I do not have the answers myself, but I assure you, we will."
(Astrid) "We?"
(Sitri) "Yes. With the arrival of so many newcomers from other worlds, and with veterans of this situation being here..."
She nodded again and looked at everyone.
(Sitri) "As leader of Garreg Mach Monastery, I hereby reestablish, House Isekai!"
(Aigis) "Oh?"
(Rean and Towa) "HUH?!"
(Kazuma) "THE FUCK?"
(Buck) "...The hell's an Isekai?"
His squad, Duvalie, and Raelyn shrugged.
(Kurt) "Has...Instructor Rean and Towa done this before?"
Class VII looked at Rean, then back to Sitri.
Jean nodded.
(Jean) "It seems this is not their first time being visited by people from other worlds."
(Diluc) "Hmph, I blame the Traveler for this."
All things considered, the Knights of Favonius looked relatively calm about the situation.
The students of Garreg Mach all had mixed opinions. They didn't view House Isekai in a very good light, but now they HAD to be a part of it.
(Kairos) "This is not going to end well..."
(Elizabeth) "Oh dear."
(Helena) "This oughtta be interesting."
(Stefan) "Hah, that's one way to put it..."
(Astrid) "Goddess help us..."
...
(Sitri's voice) "...I hereby reestablish, House Isekai!"
Mercedes smiled as she heard Sitri's voice through her crystal and put it into her pocket and stretched.
Through the door, a small girl and a fairy came into the room.
(Recette) "Hey Mercie! We got the reports from this month in!"
(Tear) "Yes, it appears to be within...why are you smiling?"
(Mercedes) "I've just been listening into Sitri's progress."
(Recette) "What's going on?"
Mercedes didn't say anything as she motioned them to follow her.
(Sitri) "We have a welcome back party to work on!"
(Tear) "For...who?"
(Mercedes) "Just some old friends..."

Minato Arisato x Female!Reader (The Great Seal of Nyx) [Part 2: The Disappearance of the Lover]
Tumblr media
Author's Note: Hey, remember that one post I made about a sequel to The Great Seal of Nyx, like, a super long time ago? Because here it is.
Here is my promised sequel, after who knows how long. This time, inspired by the Persona 3 movies.
But holy crap, this took a very different turn then the other fanfic. There's angst, a disturbing moment, and a very dark moment. So, this is so goshdang angsty. So, yeah. But fluff! There's fluff in there too!
Tumblr media
"It's almost time, everyone." The man sighed while looking at the clock on the wall. "Is everyone ready?"
Everyone seemed in agreement. Koromaru barked happily, as if to speak for everyone. . . Almost everyone.
The midnight blue-haired man sighed again. But before he could say something else, another man wearing a yellow scarf put a hand on the shoulder of the blue-haired boy and then walked up to a (Hair/Color) girl who seemed nervous and upset. He wrapped his arms around her frame, and said to her,
"(Your/Name), it's going to be okay. I know you don't want to do this, and that's okay to feel that way. All of us are ready to get you out of there if your parents try anything on you. So, please, try your best with your parents. Try, that's all we can ask." He smiled at her.
Her arms seemed to wrap around the man, like she was clinging for dear life. But the man didn't mind at all. He kept smiling at her face that was buried in his shoulder.
The air in the room suddenly became tense and uneasy, as the others in the room started to surround the frightened girl with smiles and embraces.
"I-I c-can't d-do th-this." The girl sobbed. "I-I don't w-want th-this."
"And that's okay." The blue-haired boy said to the girl. "But let's give your family a second shot. If they can't treat you right, Aigis will stay with you for the rest of the day and I'm sure everyone will let you stay with them and you'll never have to go near to you parents again. Can you promise me to at least give them a shot?"
The girl lifted her head from the man's shoulder and with tears in her eyes nodded at the blue-haired man.
The man with the yellow scarf let go of the girl, and in his place, a blonde robotic girl took the girl's hand and wrapped an arm around her shoulder and pulled the girl close to her own mechanical body.
"(Y/N)-san, I'll take you there. Everything will be alright." The blonde said.
The (H/C) girl, after she wiped her tears away, nodded. "Alright. I'll try."
Everyone in the room seemed to smile at the (H/C) girl, and soon, a bell rang out on the room. Everyone walked out of the living room to the front area of the house close by the gazebo, to which, a black door appeared. One by one, each person waved goodbye to the others as they stepped through the black door. With the (H/C) girl and the robotic blonde girl going last.
Tumblr media
When the (H/C) girl and the android stepped through the portal, they came to an rural neighborhood with not many houses around with a menacing house in front of them.
The house was average size for a house, but it was obvious the house was not being taken care of. The front yard's lawn, while a beautiful green, wasn't trimmed, and the front porch was full of random junk. The house's brown paint was falling off, and the window's black blinds seemed torn, and the house itself seemed dark and unfriendly. There was a road not far from the house with two cars sitting there. One of those those cars was your own car from years ago and you knew it was youd own for a fact, with another broken car next to your car.
Aigis looked at the girl with a smile on her face. "Are you ready?"
She gave you a small keychain that looked like a black remote control with a single black button on it. "If your parents hit you, or threaten you, or do something that you're not comfortable with, this is how I will know. Press it, and I will come and take you away. Okay?"
You were about to nod your head, but you took a deep breath and step forward to the house. While Aigis stayed where she was.
You turned back to Aigis and smiled at her. "Yes, I'm ready, Aigis."
And with that, you walked up to your childhood house and rang the doorbell.
In which appeared a woman with a bottle in her hand, she groaned and then let you in.
After which, a black door appeared behind Aigis and she stepped through.
Tumblr media
The day passed by faster than S.E.E.S. was expecting. For Junpei and Fuuka, this was a relief. For almost everyone else, this was sad but they were still happy to see their families and friends once more.
When the time had come for them to come back, Minato and Ryoji came out of the house and stood by where the gate appeared the day before.
A black gate appeared at exactly twelve o' clock at night, and first came Yukari.
Then, Mitsuru.
Then Shinjiro and Akihiko, with Ken right after.
Then Koromaru.
With Fuuka next, with Junpei right after.
And then Aigis.
Then, the gate closed.
Koromaru, upon seeing you weren't present, started growling. After Aigis heard what he had said, she started to panic as well seeing as how you aren't here.
"Where is (Y/N)-san?" She asked.
"Is she late? No, she knows---" Yukari muttered before she was cut off by Junpei.
"Those bastards! They better not have laid a finger on her or they're going to pay!" Junpei growled.
"Junpei, we don't know that. She might just be having a moment of healing with them." Fuuka said.
"But let's go over there, just in case. We need to make sure she's okay." Mitsuru said.
The group nodded in agreement.
Tumblr media
When they crossed Minato's blue portal, they found a house in ruins. With junk everywhere, and just a mess that was supposed to be a property.
With a blonde haired women in a blue dress holding a book stood in front of the broken house. When the group came in, she turned around.
"Elizabeth-san!" Aigis said. "What happened?"
"I do not know." Elizabeth said. "I came here because there was a presence here that was close to his. But alas, when I came here, the people who owned the land said that their child was missing and they weren't sure what was going on."
"Someone like Minato? Who could that be?" Ken asked. "Aigis wasn't here, so who else could it be?"
"I have an idea of what could have happened." Elizabeth stated to the group.
"Then tell us." Shinjiro demanded.
"Someone took her away."
Tumblr media
According to Elizabeth, someone who has the same power as Minato came and took Minato's lover away. Either to use her, or maybe for some other reason.
Fuuka tried to use Juno to help track (Y/N) down, to no avail.
(Y/N) has seemingly been taken somewhere that was easily accessible or known by anyone.
So, everyone agreed to go back to the other world, and see what they could do.
But when they went back, they couldn't get much else either. Fuuka could confirm she was alive, but nothing else.
Fuuka tried harder, she was able to see something about where (Y/N) was.
(Y/N) was safe. But not in a good place.
This did give the team a little piece of mind, but it still worried them.
It worried one person in particular.
Minato Arisato feared this would happen.
He had understood that now that he was a human turned god, many would try to go after his friends and threaten him to give up the power or else. They couldn't kill you anymore, but they sure as heck could torture you for the rest of eternity.
And they kidnapped you, of all people, and probably was already torturing you to get you to talk about his power. But, you knew nothing about it. You knew what he can do, but not what his power exactly was.
Why now?
Why would this happen to his lover, of people?
Minato's thoughts became dark as he thought about you, all alone with no one to help you. And also the anger he had inside of him, because he had hoped this wouldn't happen.
Minato just wanted to be with his team again. He wanted to be with them so he wouldn't have to suffer alone with just Ryoji.
Is that too much to ask?
Ryoji, seeing Minato was noticeably upset and angry, tapped him on the shoulder.
Minato looked up to Ryoji in recognition.
"Minato, can you look for her?" He asked.
"Huh?! What the hell does that mean?!" Junpei said.
"Minato is a god, isn't he?" Mitsuru interjected. "Maybe he can track her down."
"Well, let's give it a shot." Akihiko said. "At this point, we've got nothing to lose."
Minato seemed to understand what they were asking. He simply nodded, and closed his eyes.
And looked for you.
Tumblr media
Your arms and legs were bound by a rope. But your chest was also bound up in such a way your breasts where sticking out, making them noticable. And the crouch area and butt was sticking out, too.
Making your body much, much more appealing to a perverted eye. But, you were covered in bruises and already bleeding, it made you less attractive unless a person was both perverted and sadistic.
But this also made you unable to move too much.
You where also tied to a pole, that was uncomfortable to say the least. In front of you was a man you had hoped you would never see again.
A middle-aged man with dark brown eyes with a pair of glasses to add on, with long wavy brown hair and a goatee to match.
Shuji Ikutsuki.
He was right in front of you, holding a spear, a knife, and another pole connected to a wire.
He seemed angry at you, and then thrust the spear he had back into your stomach. And then, a wave of electricity stock you, causing you to let out another blood-curdling scream.
You spit out some blood, and looked back at him.
"I told you, you sick bastard. I don't know!" You yelled again.
"You're still lying to me, (Y/N). I thought you knew better than to talk back to a person who took care of you." He sighed, before he kicked your face again.
Which again, caused you to spit out more blood.
"If you're not going to talk with old fashioned torture. Then I'll try something else." He seemed to purr.
And he reached to your chest, grabbing one of your breasts and playing with it. This, in turn, made you squirm and move to get Ikutsuki to stop.
But he didn't.
He wouldn't stop touching your body.
Your mind screamed for him to stop. You voice did the same. Your body was desperately trying to move out of the way of the sick man.
He stopped after some time asked the same demand again. "Give me Minato's power. Or you're not going to be able to walk tommorow."
Before you could say anything, Ikutsuki was thrown halfway across the room and a voice rang out.
"You lowlife! How dare you molest and talk to her that way, you sick son of a bitch!"
When you turned, you saw a girl. She had auburn hair, which she had in a high ponytail, along with silver barrettes which formed the roman numeral XXII, she also had red eyes to add on. She also had a Naginata in her right hand, and she had a red neck-strap MP3 player around her neck. She wore short-sleeved orange shirt, a white skirt, and white sandals.
The girl immediately proceeded to beat the heck out of Ikutsuki. And when she had knocked him out, she walked over to you.
"It's okay, (Y/N). I'm here now. Everything's going to be okay now." She said, as she undid the ropes forcing you to stay put. When she let them loose, she grabbed your hand and ran you out of the area.
But before you could say anything, the girl quickly into a red portal.
Tumblr media
When you arrived on the other side was. . . A field.
A field much different the one surrounding the world you had lived in for so long.
The field was not made of real flowers. . . But of crystals.
Gems from all over the world each had its own flower. Each species was beautiful in its own right, and made itself known to you by their sheer beauty. But as a whole, the flowers made a wonderful raindow galaxy that was the field you where in.
And then, there was the sky. . . It in and of itself seemed to be a galaxy of its own. The sky looked like. . . Your standard galaxy. With blacks, purples, pinks, blues and whites with beautiful light coming from it.
The field and sky stretched as far as the eye could see, like the world you where staying in.
But you noticed something else.
The girl who had brought you here was smiling at you, like she wished to feel the same way as you right now.
You were in awe of a world like this. It was so much different than Minato's world. So much prettier, and so much more open space.
"Where are we?" You asked, breathlessly.
"My world, I guess you could say." The girl said. "I've been here for some long, time doesn't seem to be in the picture anymore."
"In the picture?" You asked, as you took your attention off the world around you and back unto the girl. "Wait. Are you---?"
"A goddess? Yes. Of sorts." She smiled. "More like human turned god. But same concept, really."
Your mouth spoke faster than your mind could. "You're just like Minato!"
She seemed shocked at that, but laughed afterwords. "Yes, I am. After all, I am him in a way."
"In a way?" You tilted your head a bit.
"I am him. Just in a different timeline. I went through everything he did, it's just I'm a girl!" She explained.
"Wait, then does that mean---?!" You cheeks where about to turn a bright red, but than the girl spoke up.
"I'm dating you? Nope. I do appreciate your existence in my life though!" She laughed again, making the wishful expression disappear.
"So, can you explain it?"
"Explain what?"
"If you're from a different timeline, where's everyone else from your timeline?" You asked her, and then remembered something. "And what your name is?"
"You're always so formal, (Y/N). But, I guess I should tell you, even if I already know who you are. I'm Minako Arisato." She said. She even put out her hand, which had a silver ring on it. You did shake her hand, even though as soon as Minako got your hand, she pulled both of you to the ground with a goofy smile on her face. Despite what you thought it feel like, the ground was actually quite soft. Almost like a pillow.
"And this place is, well, I guess you could say. . . Purgatory. It's just kinda here for me. As for my teammates. . . I can't get to them. The gods of the underworld kinda won't let me touch them because of Minato."
"They won't?" You turned to her, with a frown on her face.
"No." She said, sadly. "So I'm just up here. By myself with nothing much to do. Except watch out for everyone else."
"Is that how you saw what was going on with me?" You asked.
"No, that was more because I felt you were in distress, after all I know what you've been through. Ikutsuki was doing something I didn't like with you. He doesn't deserve to be near you."
"Are you sure it wasn't because you were alone?" You asked her seriously. You remembered Minato and how he'd talk about the loneliness he felt, and how sad he seemed then.
"That was another factor in saving you." She stated, laughing a little. "After all, I did say I feel alone most of the time."
The two of you where quiet for some time. You definitely could tell Minako was happy like this.
She really was alone up here.
Tumblr media
Minato had found you in the hands of Ikutsuki, but when he got there, he found you gone, and Ikutsuki beaten up. When he looked again, he found you again and almost rushed there. With Ryoji trailing behind him, while everyone else had basically lost to Minato's speed and stayed back.
And when he got there, there indeed you where. You were sleeping peacefully in a field with another girl right next to you.
Minato walked up to the girl and you, but before he could speak, the girl spoke.
"Are you (Y/N)'s boyfriend?"
Minato nodded. "Yes, I am."
"So you're Minato Arisato. Wow, you're almost the exact opposite of me. Different hair color and all." She smiled.
"How do you know me?" Minato asked, sitting down in front of the girl.
"Because I am you." She said, like it was common sense.
Tumblr media
Minato and Minako talked for a while, as Minako explained who she was, and what happened to you.
"Ikutsuki was torturing her for information, huh? Well, he's always wants power, so it's no wonder why he would try something like this." Minato sighed.
Ryoji seemed more curious than Minato, and asked a few more questions. Minako answered them, and not long after you woke up.
Minato seemed to notice first. "Hey, sleepyhead." He moved more towards you. "Come on, let's go home."
After a few moments, you nerviously shook your head.
Minato frowned at that and became a little angry. "Why not?! Everyone was so worried---!"
"But. . . What about Minako?" You asked him, as you sat up to face him. "She's all alone up here without her friends, and she's depressed, Minato! She's just like you! But she has no one to be at her side, please, we need to do something---!"
Minato, immediately pulled you into his chest and flung you over his shoulder. He pulled you into a fireman's carry and moved over to the blue portal he had made. "No, you're coming home."
"Wait, Minato!" You said as you tried to struggle out of his grasp, but Minato was not having it.
Ryoji followed after the two of you with a neutral face that you couldn't tell was indifference or a face he's using to try and hide his true emotions, while Minako waved goodbye sadly. You could tell she seemed upset, but was forcing a smile. You reached out to her in worry for her, but the blue light had confused the three of you.
But as soon as you went to through the portal, you were flew unto a bed, which you recognized as Minato's bed. And then, you where pinned by Minato so you couldn't move your arms. You could tell Minato was angry with you, but he seemed upset as well. You closed you eyes as you thought Minato would hit you. But, you felt a drop of water fall on your cheek, and then another. And another. The tears kept falling on you like rain.
Minato was crying now, with sobs escaping him. His body has collapsed on your own, and he wrapped his arms around your frame, like if he let go, you'd disappearf orever. You opened your eyes as Minato was squeezing your body tightly.
"You. . . Are not. . . Leaving me." He said through his sobs. "Not again! I've been waiting for you and everybody else to be with me for so long! You're going to give me up from a person who like me?! I'm not going to let that happen! You're---!"
"Minato, I didn't mean it like that! I---!" You tried to say.
"Then what were you go in to do then?!" Minato said, looking you in the eye. His eyes where full of tears, something you hadn't seen in some time. "Where you going to leave us to go find Minako's teammates?!"
You turned away from him as your own eyes swelled up with tears. "I---!"
"That's it, isn't it?" He growled at you. "You're so selfish, you know that?! Think about everyone else! How would they feel if you did that?! Everyone---!"
You didn't hear the rest.
Your mind suddenly remembered the exact same words your mother had said to you all those years ago when she used to abuse you.
"You're such a selfish bitch, you know that?!"
And immendiately, your brain froze up and you started shaking. Minato, seeing your fear, stopped his rambling and realized what he had done.
He had triggered your PTSD.
Immendiately, he got off of you and moved you into his arms. But, you violently shoved him away, so powerful that it almost got him off the bed. He didn't fall off the bed, but he moved to where you could see him. Which was right in front of you, even though at the moment, you where curling yourself into the bed. Saying,  "P-p-p-please, d-d-don't Mom! I-I didn't m-mean to! I-I---!"
"(Y/N)!" Minato called. "Your mother isn't here! It's just me! See?" He stretched his arms towards your terrified body.
But you shook your head at him, with eyes wide flodding with tears "I'm sorry! I'm so sorry! No-No! P-please, don't! No!" You said, as your voice cracked and became louder than before.
"Your mother isn't here, (Y/N)!" Minato repeated. "It's me, Minato! You're having a flashback! Please, listen!" He said, sounding desperate.
"M-Minato? But you're---!" You said, breaking your flashback for a moment and looked up off the mattress, before your eyes got wide and you screamed. Then, started crying and whimpering and hyperventilating again as you went back into the bed. "N-N-No! N-NO! NO, STOP! PLEASE STOP!"
Your scream was more then loud enough to get the attention of everyone else in the mansion. And after that, the rest of S.E.E.S. came rushing up to Minato's room and saw you curled up in a ball on the bed hyperventilating and crying your eyes out. With Minato trying calm you down, and S.E.E.S. instantly figured out what was the matter.
You were having a flashback.
And, then they too, started saying things like Minato. That your mother wasn't here, you where nowhere near your childhood home, and they where here for you. Aigis turned on the lights in the room, and everyone tried not to touch you but at the same time, keep you away from the sides of the bed, and hiding any sharp objects. They tried talking you into looking around, but you wouldn't listen.
It didn't seem to work.
You where having too bad of a flashback.
Your mind couldn't be reasoned with now. So, Minato simply lifted you off the bed and then pulled you into a hug, and put a hand on the back of your head. He whispered something, and his hand glowed blue and then, your body went limp.
Tumblr media
When you woke up, you where in a soft, gentle embrace that you recognized.
Your were in Minato's chest.
Minato had a firm grip on you, his arms and legs were entangled with yours and his head was on top of your own, and he really had a tight grip on you.
That's right. You two got into a fight and then. . . You had a flashback.
You got into a fight about Minako.
It's been a long time since that happened.
But. . .You saw Minato's point of view. . . But your feelings of the situation hadn't changed.
And now, you were even more conflicted. You did just go missing and you are suppose to be here, but. . . Minako's all by herself.
You curled into more of a ball. You knew what you had to do, but. . . You were unsure now.
Now what on Earth were you supposed to-?
"Ah. . . Minato's fallen asleep." A voice said. You recognized that voice, it was Ryoji's.
"Are you alright?" He asked as soon as he came over to you, as he rubbed your shoulder after sitting down.
"I guess." You answered, with a voice still a bit sad.
"Is Minako's situation still bothering you?" He asked.
"Yeah."
"Is that what the fight was about?"
"Mmhmm."
Ryoji didn't speak for sometime. "I'm sure Minato feels the same way."
You sat up from Minato's embrace, and faced Ryoji with your sad face looking. . . somewhat surprised.  "You think so?"
"If they are the same person, why wouldn't Minato felt the same way as she is feeling now? Minato knows what it's like to be alone in the same way she's experiencing now. And he knows how much she wants to see her teammates. But your disappearance scared him. So, he just needs some time with you. Give him some time, and I'm sure he will do something to help."
"But, what if he doesn't?" You said, looking back at Minato's sleeping body.
"Then, wait until next year. You'll have one chance to help her out then." He smiled at you.
You turned back to Ryoji, and then nodded with a smile on your face.
"You're so strange to me." Ryoji whispered. "You're so kind, and yet so broken. So, how can you be so kind when you're more broken then anyone else here?"
"Huh?" You honestly couldn't hear what he had said, and hoped he'd say it again.
"Nevermind. Come on, Shinjiro asked you to help him today with teaching Fuuka."
Tumblr media
Fuuka, despite lots of time to improve on cooking, didn't get much better at it. Shinjiro was the local cook, and you also knew how to cook since your parents didn't often cook for you and so, you self-taught yourself how to cook.
And being the other cook of the dorm, also meant you also where the one who often assisted Shinjiro, with cooking, but also with helping Fuuka learn to cook.
Which today, wasn't as hard as it normally was.
As everyone was keeping an eye on you, especially after what had happened to you. Fuuka did have her attention on you, but you could tell: She was thinking about you more so than the food.
But by the time you had figured that out, the two of you were almost done with what Shinjiro had asked you to do. So, you decided to finish what you were doing before talking about what had happened.
But there was one person in particular who couldn't wait for you to open up about it.
"Miss (Y/N)?" Elizabeth said. This did seem to cause everyone to flinch. Because everyone seemed to know what Elizabeth was going to say. After all, Elizabeth wasn't the type to withhold her own curiosities, actions or feelings for the sale of others.
"Yeah?" You answered her. "What is it?"
"What happened?" Elizabeth bluntly said, seemingly teleporting in front of where you where standing.
Wow.
She wasn't even beating around the bush. She would beat the bush if she could get answers. That's Elizabeth for you.
"Eh? What do you mean by that?" You asked her, honestly confused. "I don't understand what you mean by that."
"That day you disappeared. Where did you go?" Elizabeth asked.
Now you had everyone's attention.
Even Shinjiro seemed to be paying attention now.
You took a deep breath.
"Ikutsuki, well, kidnapped me." You answered. "But---"
"Ikutsuki?!" Yukari jumped from her seat, seeming to scare everyone. "That little---!"
"Yukari, just a moment. Let's hear the full story first." Mitsuru said.
"Sorry." Yukari said, sitting back down on the couch.
"I was saved." You said, with an unsure voice. "By someone who knew me by heart, and was just like Minato. But she was a girl."
"A female Minato? But, how?" Junpei asked.
"I'm not sure, but she said and felt just like she knew exactly what it was like to be Minato, but she was from someplace else. But her situation is different then ours, she can't see her friends." You said.
You didn't mean to spill out that much information, but your feelings must have gotten the best of you.
There was a silence for a solid minute, then Elizabeth spoke up.
"She's from another time." Elizabeth said. "Her name was Minako Arisato, correct?"
You nodded slowly.
"She is from another world, another time than us. The person you encountered is the guest of my brother, Theodore. It is true she is very similar to Minato in many ways, and what she has told you is true. She is in the exact same situation, only without her comrades." Elizabeth stated.
There was so much you wanted to, so much you wanted to say, but you felt that you shouldn't say it.
Your face wasn't as anxious anymore but you still seemed a bit shy.
Elizabeth, however, is great at reading her guest and their friends.
"You want to help her, don't you?" Elizabeth said.
Almost as if on instinct, you almost dropped what you where doing. "Yes!"
Elizabeth scanned your face of desperation and honest want to help, then go close to your face. "While I cannot directly help you due to my own journey, I can give you this. Find a Plume of Dusk."
You nodded at Elizabeth, and then there was footsteps coming down from the stairs accompanied by a familiar yawn. "Hey, what's for dinner?" Minato asked.
"Ah! We are having Sukiyaki with Sashimi!" You said, running up to him and grabbing his hands.
Minato's face, while his eyes and mouth were still heavy from his sleepiness, smiled at your energetic and happy tone of voice.
The room's mood, while different then the suffocating tension it once had, was tense now it was unsure tension. But it seemed to settle down, and the night went on as it normally did.
Tumblr media
A few days had passed, and Elizabeth had helped you locate a Plume of Dusk. There was a place on your boyfriend's world where a stash of them was.
It was. . . A cave. A cave that Elizabeth said was under the lake.
You stared intently at the water, seeing you and the bridge's reflection in it.
But there was a slight problem. As the lake is an actual lake, there wasn't a way to go under it. And, Minato still controlled it. So, how on Earth where you going to-
"[Y/N]? What are you doing out here?" Your boyfriend asked.
"Gah!" When you turned, your boyfriend was behind you. Hugging you tightly as soon as you saw him. "Minato! What's the matter?!"
"I wanted to be with you. For some reason, I don't want to be with them right now. I want to be with you." He said, plainly.
"Ah-" You weren't sure what to say.
And for a while, the two of you stood in silence, until you had an idea.
"How about a date, then?!"
"To where?" He said, lifting his face off your shoulder to look at you.
"Mmmmmmm. . . . . . How about a cave?!"
"A cave?" He asked. "Why there?"
"Because it's pretty! And we haven't been to one as a date! And we'd be alone! Please?!" You seemly bounced in his arms with a goofy smile on your face.
A kiss was placed on your forehead, which caused you to calm down. "Okay, okay. If it means we'll be alone."
And then, the world changed.
You where indeed in a cave.
It was indeed a cave. It sparkled and shined with gems you'd never seen before, and with gems have, and it reminded you of Minako's place.
There was a pool in the center, with water dripping down from the ceiling like an upside down fountain.
"Wow! It's so big!" You exclaimed, getting yourself out of your boyfrenid's arms and running around the cave. "It's as big as the house! And the crystals shine so brightly! It's like a. . . A. . . Oh! Like stars and fireworks!"
Minato was laughing at your antics and cute thoughts so hard he had to summon a chair to steady himself.
The laughing he made went unoticed as you danced so happily around the cave like a child in a candy store. Splashing with the water and messing with the crystals. You felt you could do it for hours, in this cave.
"Minato! Minato! Look! I can walk on the water! and it's so warm on my skin!"  You said, with your soaked body as you ran to him and saw his chair.  "Minato?"
"Hahaha! [Y/N], I-Pffffft hahaha! Forgot how funny you can-hahahaha! Be! Pffft-Hahahahaha!"
You confused face only added to his laughing cycle, and after a few moments of you expressing your worry and trying to calm him down, he stopped laughing and got up from the chair.
"Ha. You never fail to make me laugh, [Y/N]."
"And you never fail to find new ways to make me do that! You know that right?!" You smiled at him.
He let out a small laugh, and then walked over to an area with crystal and took a large crystal off the ground and in a glowing blue light, it turned into a beaded manitee necklace with a small hearts and butterflies around the necklace.
"Take this." Your boyfriend said. "It's a gift."
"I know that," you sighed as he put the necklace on you. "But why?"
"Because you came back." He said, pulling you into his arms again. "And I want you to know that isn't happening again."
You laughed. "You don't have to worry about me! I'll be fine!"
You then saw a decent-sized crystal of Plume of Dusk, and walked towards it and picked it up. "Hey, can I have this?"
"Why?" He laughed at you, and you then walked up to him with the crystal in your arms.
"Because I want to remember this place." You said, looking towards the cave and then turned back to him and smiled. "It's such a beautiful place! And it's our first date in your world!"
Minato laughed again. "Okay, okay. It's yours then."
And then, the cave disappeared and you two were back on the bridge again.
Tumblr media
The sun had gone down, and you were currently in your room, holding the crystal that Minato turned in a ball.
Elizabeth said I needed one of these, but why?
Wait, maybe the Plume of Dusk could be given to the underworld gods to appease them.
Or it could be to help you find Minako again.
But what on Earth could---?
"You found one. And so quickly, too." A voice you recognized said, and when you turned to the voice, there sat Elizabeth. Sitting on your bed.
"Elizabeth, what am I suppose to do with this?" You asked.
Elizabeth smiled at you, and then stood up the bed. "May I see it?"
You nodded, handing over the ball.
After Elizabeth took the ball from you, she said something and the ball broke into two pieces. One part turned into a crystal copy of you. The other turned into a box.
"This," Elizabeth said, gesturing to the copy of you, "Will give you time."
"Time to speak with the gods, right?" You said.
Elizabeth nodded. "While I don't know how much time, it will be enough to least get you to speak with Minako to tell her what is happening."
You nodded, and walked over to your copy. It looked at you for a moment and then hugged you. It then gained color and looked like you. It stopped hugging you, and you then knew what your copy was. But before you could say anything, it spoke. "Go on, [Y/N]. You have things to do."
You nodded at it. "Thank you, [Persona/Name]."
"Then, this way, [Y/N]." Elizabeth said, gesturing towards a black door. You nodded, and walked through the door, with Elizabeth behind you.
Your copy then sighed, and went to bed.
And, on the other side of your room's front door, someone leaned against the door and smiled. "You really are a strange one."
Tumblr media
When you got out of the portal, you where in Minako's place once more.
"There should be a place Minako stays." Elizabeth said, walking a bit. "I'm not sure what it looks like, but you have time."
You nodded, and started walking away. "Thank you, Elizabeth."
She simply smiled back. "Thank me when you get back."
And just like that, she disappeared from sight, taking the black door with her.
So, you begin to walk. You weren't exactly sure where to go, but that was all you could do right now.
You walked for seemlying for hours, and the place looked exactly the same.
You sighed. How much farther was it?
"Come on, we have to-"
"What it a girl like you doing in a place like this, [Y/N]?" A gentle voice said to you.
When you turned, there stood a blonde haired man with a blue tuxedo-like outfit, and a worried look on his face.
"I'm looking for a girl named Minako Arisato. Do you ow to find her?" You asked, plainly.
"Yes, but you're---"
"I know. I shouldn't be here. But that's not important right now. I need to speak with her."
The man studied you for a moment, and then quietly nodded. "Alright. This way."
And before you and the man appeared a path. A silver path, at that.
Tumblr media
The man walked you towards a cottage.
A really pretty one at that. It looked like something out of a fairytale.
With its' dark brown and white exterior covered in the crystal vines that shined, and small garden out front.
It really was small, and it felt much different than your home. You could feel it was warm and friendly, like it wanted you to be there. But, there was an air of loneliness there too.
"Say, [Y/N]." The man asked.
"Yes, um. . ." You looked at him, nerioisly, realing you didn't know his name.
"Theodore."
"Yes, Theodore?"
"What are you doing here? You're not even from this timeline." He stopped in his tracks, and looked at you.
You paused for a moment, then continued walking. "I want to help her."
"Help her?"
"She. . . Saved me. I want to do something to her kindness."
Theodore looked at you, confused this time, but then sighed helplessly. "You sure are strange."
"Yes, I mean, I am dating the Great Seal of Nyx." You smiled, passing the Velvet Room attendant. "I think I kinda have to be to do that."
"Theeeeeeeoooo!" A voice yelled as it came closer to you two, and out of the cottage, appeared Minako in the same outfit as before. She happily ran up to the two of you but then stopped when she saw you.
"[Y/N]?" She paused. "What are you doing here? How did you even---?"
"I want to help you meet your teammates. I asked Elizabeth for help." You replied.
"[Y/N], I appreciate the sentiment, but it won't help. I've already tried." She smiled sadly.
"But I have something that may help." You said, pulling out the Plume of Dusk fragment, which now was a bouquet of flowers, whereas it used to be a solid crystal.
Minako and Theodore both gasped at the flowers.
"[Y/N], where did you find this much?" Minako asked you.
"My boyfriend said I could have it. Will this appease the gods?"
Minako laughed at you. "As stubborn as I remember you. I'm not sure. You want to try it?"
"Huh?" You said.
"If you got this many, there is chance. But I will need you, too."
"What does that mean?"
"I'm saying you're coming with me. You seem really determined about this. Then, we'll go together." The goddess said, making a red door appear.
You nodded, and walked with Minako and Theodore through the door.
Tumblr media
"You're really needy today, [Y/N]." Minato said to your Persona as the two cuddled on couch. The living room wasn't full of people, as everyone else had decided to go swimming outside.
"What's wrong with that?" Your copy smiled, snuggling inside your boyfriend's arms. "Am I not allowed to?"
"No, I'm not saying that." Minato said, kissing your copy's forehead, causing the Persona to make a happy sigh. "I'm not used to you being so cuddly."
"Well, if you can be cuddly, why can't I? It's not fair I have to share you with other people."
This, got Minato to stop for a moment. You've never said something like that before.
"Minato? What's the matter?" Your copy asked.
"Can I ask you something, [Y/N]?" He face got serious at your copy. "Do you remember what we had for dinner last night?"
Uh-oh. Your Persona was in trouble now.
"Why the sudden question, Minato?" The Persona asked.
"Please answer me." He said, with a more serious voice.
Hmmm. . . We had Sushi. Fuuka and Shinjiro said they wanted to celebrate." the Persona said.
Minato was silent for a moment, and his face changed from worry to anger. He threw your Persona out of his arms, and pinned to the table.
"Ow! Hey! What was that---?"
"Where is she?" Minato growled. "What did you do with her?!"
The Persona sighed, and said, "What do you think?"
Minato's expression changed, and he was now very upset. "No. . . He didn't."
"She's not gone, Minato. She's just with Minako." Ryoji said, appearing behind Minato.
Minato turned to the scarf wearing boy. "She. . . What?"
"She went to see Minako. I heard her speaking with Elizabeth."
Minato let go of the Persona for a second, and spawned his trademark sword, and then slammed the sword by the Persona's head, which the Persona didn't even flinch to. "Where. Is. She?" The god demanded from the Persona.
"She's speaking with the underworld gods. She's trying to convince them to give Minako's team back." The Persona said, simply.
Minato sighed, and stabbed the Persona, causing it to shatter into pieces. "[Y/N], I should have known."
Tumblr media
This was bad.
Really, really bad.
The underworld gods had heard your plea, and got your gift, but refused. And now, they said you would be taking back their deal for your insolence.
Without your Persona, and Minako desperately trying to fighting off the servants of the gods, you where stuck. Theodore left, and you had no way to defend yourself.
You where a sitting duck, and starting to panic at that.
What the Hell where you doing to do.
"[Y/N],  you left again. I thought I said it wouldn't happen again." You felt a pair of arms surround your chest, and your necklace glowed a bright blue.
And behind you, appeared Minato. His hair, his eyes. . . Was a different colors. His hair was grey, his eyes were black with purple pupils, and his clothes were now black. It looked like Ryoji's Thanatos like form. With a black cape, silver chains around him, and a skull-like face.
He grabbed you, and pulled you into his cape and gave you the cape to wear. "You are staying there. Understand?"
You nodded at him, and Minato turned to the gods. "Forgive my lover. She is quite foolish."
"Foolish!" One of them sneered.  "She's out of her mind! Such insolence is unforgivable! Especially a mortal as herself!"
"Indeed, but she won't stop until she gets what she wants." Minato said.
"No! We refuse!" Another god said.
"I see. What a shame." Minato said, and sighed.
And then, faster than you could see, pulled out a sword and stabbed the gods. "Then I'll take over."
"Huh?" You breathed out, as Minato stabbed the gods to death, which Minako didn't let you see by walking over to and pulling you into her chest.
A little bit later, after Minato had in essence destroyed them, he put his sword away and walked towards you and took you out of Minako's arms.
"Minato, did you---?" You said, before he kissed your forehead.
"There, [Y/N]. Are you happy now?" he sighed at you.
"H-Happy? You just killed the gods!" You practically yelled.
"Well that would have been the only way. Those stubborn gods don't listen to humans." Minato said, hugging you again.
"B-But! Won't you get in trouble?!"
"Not if we're the new gods."  He smirked.
You stopped for a moment, "You mean, you and Minako?"
Your boyfriend nodded. "It'll take some getting used to, but yes."
You seemed confused for a moment, then gasped and dorkily smiled. "Really?! That's so amazing!" You hugged your boyfriend tighly.
"It seems it's the only way for me to keep an eye on you."
"Hey!" You pouted.
"I'm kidding, I'm kidding." He said, as he kissed your forehead again.
"Meanie!"
Minako started laughing. "Go on you two, you've got to get before every else becomes worried."
Minato nodded at her, and a portal appeared behind you. Minato tugged you towards him, and you waved at Minako. "Farewell."
"Farewell!" The goddess said, as you disappeared into the portal.
Tumblr media
You where in Minato's room again. Minato then sat you down the bed, and in a flash of blue light, Minato's eyes, hair and outfit changed back to normal and Ryoji appeared beside Minato. Minato sighed and then flopped unto the bed, taking you with him.
"Gah! That hurts!" You said.
"As punishment for pulling that kind of stunt, I sentence you to be by my side for the next two weeks." Minato said, plainly.
"Huh?! You can't do that!" you said.
Minato smirked at you. "Oh, but I can. Watch this."
And he kissed you on the lips this time.
You pouted again. "It's not fair catching me off guard like that."
"That's too bad. Now, you don't have an option with my affection."
"Ah!" You said, as Minato started bombarding you with kisses, and Ryoji sighed.
"I'll be downstairs." He said.
"No, wait! Ryoji! Help me!" You said as the scarf wearing boy closed the door.
Tumblr media
A few minutes later, Minato had stopped kissing you and the two of you were watching a movie together, cuddled up against each other watching an old movie Minato wanted to watch badly with you.
About halfway through, you fell asleep in Minato's arms.
But he didn't notice until the movie was over. "See? That wasn't so---Hmm?"
Your gentle breathing and cute face you made while you slept made Minato realize you had fallen asleep. He laughed quietly for a moment, then carefully got you out of his arms, and turned off the TV.
Seeing you sleeping like this. . . Was one of the things enjoyed in this lifetime of solitude.
Because God, you were so, so cute like this.
Wrapped in his arms, and Minato would forget his job.
Which was one of the best things you gave him.
"Sleep, [Y/N]. You deserve it." He kissed your forehead which more and crawled into bed with you. "You've worked so hard for it."
And the boy closed his eyes and fell asleep.

A/N: For the Persona @wegotyourbackzine! I decided to write about Mitsuru and her changing the relationship throughout the game. I also couldn’t resist putting some Akihiko/Mitsuru hints. XD
Summary: Friendship. That had a nice ring to it. Mitsuru stared at the group of people living in the dorm and realized she wasn’t as alone as she thought.
Summer
 The hot summer sun beat down with no reprieve and Mitsuru shielded her eyes with a hand as she walked home. Not escorted, not driven, but walked. She didn’t even have a bodyguard behind her, trailing her inconspicuously from five feet away. And while that was all strange enough, it was not as strange as the two boys walking slightly ahead of her. Her associates. The word didn’t sound right but Mitsuru wasn’t sure what else to call them. Certainly not friends or even classmates—neither Akihiko nor Shinjiro were in her school, let alone her class.
 Holding his jacket over his shoulder, Akihiko looked over his shoulder. The bandage on his face looked like it was glued there, she couldn’t remember seeing him without one. “What did you call those monster things again?”
 “Shadows,” Mitsuru answered quickly. “What you summon with the Evokers are—”
“Personas, right?” Shinjiro filled in, his hands in his pockets. Mitsuru resisted the urge to correct his posture, to straighten his slouched back. Like this, he seemed as tall as Akihiko instead of towering over him. “I can’t believe this is real. It sounds something out of a fantasy book.”
“Or a video game.” Akihiko grinned cockily, swiftly jabbing the air in front of him. “Secret identities, fighting at night, saving the world—we’re like superheroes.”
 “Superheroes?” Shinjiro raised a brow, his expression wry. “Can’t think of one that has to shoot themselves in the head to use their powers.”
 Mitsuru rubbed her forearm uncomfortably. It was mildly disturbing how easy it was to press the cold metal to her head, to pull the trigger. To watch them do the same. Maybe she had something in common with her grandfather after all. “It does sound…silly, when you put it like that. Unfortunately, the design is required. It has to be stress-inducing.”
 “More stress-inducing than fighting monsters in the middle of the night while surrounded by coffins?” Shinjiro asked. She couldn’t tell if he was serious or just rhetorical. His dry tone didn’t help.
 “Quit complaining.” Akihiko cracked his knuckles. “At least we can fight them.”
 “Fighting addict.” Shinjiro rolled his eyes before turning his attention back to her. “Where’d you say the dorms were?”
 Mitsuru looked up at him. “They’re…”
 She stared. Just when had Shinjiro gotten so close? Even Akihiko was, for that matter. At some point, they’d started walking abreast one another, the two boys flanking her, and she didn’t know what to make of it. Of the sound of her footsteps being echoed by two others. Of her voice being answered by another. A dog barked nearby, breaking her from her thoughts, and Mitsuru masked her unease with a polite smile. “Just past this temple.”

Fall
 The sound of laughter echoed through the halls and Mitsuru paused as she closed her bedroom door. From the third floor, she couldn’t clearly make out their voices, only a messy cacophony as her companions teased one another. It was a sound she’d been hearing more often these days. Involuntarily, her lips curled into a smile and she locked her room.
 Heading toward the stairs, she glanced at the nameplates as she passed them: Aigis, Yukari, Fuuka. The floor below was equally occupied, and her feet felt light as she descended to the ground floor. When they’d first arrived here, it had felt almost ridiculous to have three people in such a big building. Now they were nine strong and the building was more full than empty. Though it seemed the majority of residents were all crowding around the lobby. “What’s happening?”
 “Mitsuru-senpai!” Crouching next to Koromaru, Junpei waved eagerly as she stepped onto the landing. “You gotta see what Yukari bought Koromaru.” He slowly rose, his shoulders shaking with laughter. “Have you ever seen anything so stupid?”
 “It’s not stupid!” Yukari flushed a bright red and swatted Junpei with a rolled-up paper. “Aigis said he likes it!”
 “Of course he would, he’s a dog.” Junpei cracked up again, undeterred. He covered his head with a hand, blocking her attacks. “Like he knows what’s cool or not.”
 “Is that relevant?” Aigis asked, bemused. She cocked her head. “He is a dog.”
 “What are you…” Mitsuru glanced at Koromaru and blinked. Then she blinked again. Perched on his head was a white headband with a pair of fluffy, white, distinctly not dog-ears. “Are those cat ears?”
 “The pet shop put out their Halloween costumes,” Yukari defended weakly, averting her gaze. Quietly, she mumbled, “And I…never had a pet before…”
 “I think they’re cute,” Fuuka agreed, squeezing Yukari’s shoulder. She gave a sympathetic smile. “Even Koromaru should get to dress up for Halloween.”
 Mitsuru glanced at the plastic bag by Yukari’s feet. The overly stuffed plastic bag. Just how many costumes did she buy? Koromaru cocked his head, the headband staying on firmly. It was a little cute, she had to admit. Just a little. “I suppose so.”
 “Ugh, is this a girl thing?” Junpei turned to Makoto with a grimace. “You don’t like them too, do you?”
 Makoto crossed his arms, studying Koromaru seriously. As usual, he took his time, scrutinizing the whole affair with more gravity than needed. “They—”
 Cutting him off before he could finish, Junpei groaned. “Why’d I even ask you, Mr. Popularity. Where’s Akihiko when you need him? Wait…” He stared at Koromaru and a wide smile spread across his face. “Hey, Koromaru, I’ll take you for a walk today.”
 “…huh?” Taken aback, Yukari snapped her head toward him. “You hate taking him for a walk.”
 “What lies! As though I could ever hate walking Koromaru. He’s saved my life so many times. Besides, I should do my part to help out.” Already heading toward the door, he whistled lightly as he picked up Koromaru’s leash. “Come on boy! And keep those ears on!”
 Fuuka started at his receding back for a long moment before she leaned closer to Yukari and whispered, “You don’t think he’s—”
 “Picking up girls?” Yukari sighed, crossing her arms as she glared at his departing figure. “Oh, he definitely is going to try.”

Winter
 “It’s cold.” Mitsuru adjusted the scarf around her neck. Even layered up as she was, winter’s chilly bite clung to her bones and refused to let go.
 Trotting quickly on the sidewalk in front of her, Koromaru yipped softly, his tail low. Not a single part of him resembled the dog Mitsuru was used to, the excited canine who lived for his evening walks. Then again, with everything that happened in the past year, she couldn’t blame him. Between the numerous sacrifices to stop Nyx, Mitsuru wasn’t sure she could smile anymore either.
 “He says…” Aigis stared blankly at Koromaru. The wind picked up. She blinked. “He says…”
 “It’s okay, I can guess.” Rubbing her hands in front of her mouth, she tried to warm them with her breath. “It’s been a while since anyone took him out for a walk. Everyone’s too busy, I guess.”
 Aigis softly added, “The dorms are really quiet now.”
 “I suppose now that we no longer have to fight, there isn’t really a reason to stay.” Mitsuru forced a crooked smile and patted Aigis on the arm. “I’m glad you came. I can’t remember the last time you left the dorms.”
 “Yeah.” Aigis stared straight ahead. “Normally, he…”
 A long beat passed. Mitsuru lowered her gaze, blinking back tears. It wasn’t too hard to picture a quiet boy with headphones strolling next to them, a sympathetic ear ready for their problems. Loss was a waterfall, ever pouring, and it leaked into every aspect of her life. She had a company she wasn’t ready to manage. Friends whose deaths she couldn’t explain. Everyone would remember Shinjiro as a delinquent. And no one would remember Makoto.
 Even now, she hadn’t managed to remove their nameplates from their doors, the finality of it all too much. She’d peaked in once, just once, the rooms left as though their owners would return at any moment. Shinjiro’s cookbooks stacked messily on desk. A CD case left open on Makoto’s desk.
 Koromaru whined, pressing his body against her leg and Mitsuru crouched down to pet him. “I miss him too,” Mitsuru murmured, burying her hand in his fur. “All of them. My father…” Her voice cracked and despite it all, it was still too hard to talk about him.
 “Miss,” Aigis repeated, stretching out the word. She gripped her chest and looked down at Mitsuru. “Is that what this pain is? Missing? Longing?”
 It was sometimes too easy to forget how new Aigis was to emotions. To being human. Standing up, Mitsuru embraced her gently. “Yeah. That is exactly what it is.”

Spring
 The key turned with a soft click. There. It was done. The dorms were closed. Everyone had moved out and they had even managed to clean out every room, including the chairman’s. Somehow, his loss hurt more than anyone else’s, even her father’s. Despite what he did, her feelings toward him couldn’t settle, rage and loss warring with every thought. She wished it was more clear-cut, that it was easier to hate him.
 “Are you done?” Akihiko asked, pulling her out of her thoughts. “Or did you forget something inside?”
 “No, nothing.” Reluctantly, Mitsuru pulled the key out of the lock. Taking a deep breath, she turned around and down the steps. “It’s finally over.”
 “Yeah. The dungeon, that time loop, everything.” Akihiko stuffed his hands in his pockets, walking on her left as they headed to where she’d parked her bike. “Can’t say I won’t miss it; it’s been, what, three years since we moved in?”
 “A little more than that.” Mitsuru brushed her hair off her shoulder. It was longer now than when they’d first met. The distance between them was shorter than was back then too. If she wanted to, she could reach out and touch him. “I always thought it was too big for us.”
 “Too big?” Akihiko snorted, amused. “More like too small—do you know how hard it was to find food when Junpei scavenged the kitchen?”
 “Yes, because I’m the one who had to stock the fridge.” Mitsuru laughed and that also was something that changed. “But it served it’s purpose.”
 “Yeah, I guess it did.” He rubbed the back of his neck, a thoughtful expression crossing his face. “You know, when we first came here, I didn’t really think much of it. But now…it’s home.”
 “Home,” Mitsuru echoed. Yeah, that was the word for it. Home. A bittersweet feeling bloomed in her chest. “I’ll miss it. How close we were to everyone.”
 “Me too.” He patted her shoulder comfortingly. “But my college is just ten minutes from your university, and well…we’re all still friends, right?”
 She reached up and squeezed his hand. It had been scary, after Makoto died, when everyone was drifting apart. Now Aigis and Yukari were roommates, now Fuuka was organizing monthly meetups, now Ken was getting ready to join them in high school. They were still connected, despite everything. “Yes.”
 They were all still friends and the future didn’t look as dark and scary as it used to.
 Reassured, she smiled teasingly. “So, what was that about you becoming a cop?”

Persona 3 Novel Anthology ENG Translation (Aikoto Scene)
Tumblr media
Title: I know... Story by:  壬生 龍 Illustration by: カワタ ユウコ Translation by: @theoneprecioustome | @p3_aikoto (on Twitter)
Aigis catches the falling raindrops on her palm.
No matter how many explanations she is given, Aigis has not been able to come to an acceptable answer. Not even after going through all the information she has obtained these last few days.
Tears should fall out of sadness. Why is it, then, that they also fall out of happiness or anger?
Are all tears the same?
And if not, then what in the world are they?
"Just like I thought, I do not understand."
Aigis blinks, despondent raindrops falling from her blue eyes.
‘That's right.’
Ikutsuki's words resound heavily in her chest.
Is that so? As expected, is it something that she, as a machine, is simply unable to grasp?
And yet, she wants to understand it so badly.
"—Aigis."
Suddenly, a familiar voice calls her name. Aigis looks back towards the sound of that voice, its gentle notes mixed with the echoes of the falling rain.
"Oh, welcome home," she greets with a smile, soaked from head to toe.
Leader, who came back with a spare umbrella, rewards her with a frown.
Without saying a word, he folds the blue umbrella and takes Aigis's hand, pulling her through the Dorm’s entrance. Aigis allows him to pull her along, silently trailing behind him.
He doesn’t stop until he’s taken her to his room, at the back of the second floor.
It’s a simple room without any belongings that can be truly called personal. A room that is as hard to seize as Leader himself.
He throws his briefcase to its rightful place before going to the sink to pick up a clean towel. And then all of a sudden, all Aigis can see is white—her vision blocked by the soft touch of the towel.
He casually dries her golden locks. Since her hair is artificial, it dries off as soon as he's done wiping the water that has gathered at the surface.
Then, he does the same with her white cheeks.
"I appreciate the sentiment, but since I am a machine, you do not need to worry about me catching a cold. As such, what you're doing is pointless."
"I know."
Leader answers to her disregard for his kindness with his usual unreadable poker face.
"... But I hate it."
Despite the strong wording, his words lack the proper intonation. Perplexed, Aigis tilts her head to the side.
"Hate it, you say?"
"I don't like to see your face stained with tears. It's sad."
"But not all tears are shed out of sadness."
"I don't want anyone to cry, even if they're happy tears."
He loosely combs Aigis's disheveled bangs with his fingertips, straightening them, and then shakes off the rain drops from her eyelashes.
“I don’t like tears. If possible, I’d rather everyone smile… At least, that’s how I feel.”
"I feel the same. I would like everyone to enjoy happy and peaceful times."
As he hears her words, he looks a little relieved. Then, he lightens up and a smile breaks across his face.
He gently caresses Aigis's head with the towel before letting go of it.
"Thank you very much, Leader."
"You should dry your uniform, too. It'll get wrinkles if you leave it like that."
"Yes."
Aigis makes it to leave, but he remembers something and stops her before she can.
"I'll go to Tartarus' tonight, so..."
"Duly noted. I'll be ready to deploy whenever you want."
"Thanks."
Tumblr media
And here’s another Aikoto exchange that takes place near the end of the story, when the group are all together:
“Protect, you say?” “Well, yeah. That’s what you wanted, right?” Yukari asks.
Certainly, she did want to do so. However, had she really managed to do it?
Rushing out, letting the enemy take advantage of your weaknesses and being reckless to the point of getting incapacitated. Needless to say, such deeds aren’t worthy of praise.
Having realized this, Aigis quietly looks up at Leader.
Meeting her questioning gaze with his own, he wordlessly answers with a nod and a smile—just like the one he gave her on that rainy day.
Then, it's okay.
At last, Aigis allows her expression to relax.
"—Yes. From now on, I will protect everyone!"
It's her mission, and her wish.
After all, more than anything, there are people she wants to protect.
"I'm counting on you, Aigis."
"Yes. I will do my best!"

46 + Aigis/MC or FeMC?
46. “As long as I get to hold your hand.”
femc gets nightmares sometimes and the only person she’ll admit it to is aigis.
*
It is sometimes the case that Minako will have unusual dreams and wake up in a cold sweat, which she will brush off with a cheerful smile and a self-deprecating joke; and it is sometimes the case that Minako will stay up all night, fiddling with her MP3 player, replaying the same songs and staring at the wall, to deny the entire event ever occurred with another cheerful smile and self-deprecating joke. Aigis does not yet have a program to hold interest in why Minako continually suffers sleepless nights and denies the phenomenon, but she has thoroughly incorporated two aspects of the situation into her operations: firstly, that Takeba, Iori, Kirijo, and Sanada would be more suspicious if she denied the incidents outright, and that Minako never does, only admits the incident and then moves the conversation right along, which all of them seem to take without much questioning; secondly, that Aigis is forbidden from bringing up the matter.
"But I am only concerned for your wellbeing," says Aigis, in the middle of Minako shoving a piece of toast into the toaster for breakfast.
"Ahh, one or two sleepless nights here and there won't do anything," says Minako, waving a hand and cracking open the fridge for the iced coffee and butter. "I promise I'm quite used to it. It happens now and then, for all sorts of reasons! Especially around finals weeks—pulling all-nighters is more common than you'd think."
"The commonality of an 'all-nighter' does not make it more healthy for you."
"No, no—I'm saying it's nothing to be worried about," says Minako soothingly, and then nearly tips over her own coffee mug.
"I do not experience worry," says Aigis, which is perhaps less than technically true considering the way Minako then proceeds to nearly drop the butter, fumble a save, and then drop the butter knife in the process. Coordination must be low. Humans really do need their sleep. "My concern is your performance in Tartarus."
"Oh! Well, that's a relief," says Minako, and laughs. "Then do me a favor? Just don't tell anyone else about it, okay? They won't understand."
"Understand?"
"That it's nothing. My performance in Tartarus won't fall, I promise. You can count on me," she says, and beams with a little salute.
"Why is that a relief?" Aigis asks.
Minako smiles. The toaster dings and the toast pops to the surface. "I just don't want to make anyone worry," says Minako, and then finally, finally knocks over the entire jug of iced coffee with her elbow, which Aigis promptly snatches out of midair.
"Understood," says Aigis, and Minako beams, like Aigis is the only person in the world.
*
Therefore, because Aigis has agreed not to worry, she does not go to Minako's room the next time she wakes up from a bad nightmare out of worry. She goes to inform her that she is going to get Takeba, who will be equipped to worry in Aigis's stead.
"Don't!" says Minako sharply. She says it like a field leader order, like it's a matter of life or death, and there's an immediate threat in the vicinity. Aigis's sensors do not detect a threat in the immediate vicinity. Minako is acting irrationally as a result of emotion, but as per usual, with enough force and conviction that she can make even a robot like Aigis wonder if her sensors are mistaken.
"It will be best if someone is able to offer you emotional support—"
"No," says Minako. Her red eyes are signal flares in the dark.
"Your safety can and does override your wishes."
"I'm fine. I am fine. You said you wouldn't worry about me."
"I am not worrying about you. I am electing to get Takeba so she can worry about you."
"No, no, I—I'll be fine. I am fine! I don't need Yukari to worry about me. She has enough on her plate with her father and Mitsuru and..." Minako scrapes hair away from her face, and grimaces at the sweat that comes off. "...Aigis, just... stay with me."
"I am an anti-Shadow weapon. I am not able to offer you emotional support at this time."
"No, um... think of it like a safety thing. You have to keep me safe, right?"
"I must ensure your wellbeing, health, and safety. There is no immediate threat in the viciinity. Your wellness would be improved should someone offer you empathy."
"And I said I don't need someone to worry about me. You said you wouldn't worry about me." Minako wipes her hand clean on her shirt, then sticks it out, like an order. "I know what I'm doing, Aigis. Just stay, okay?"
"I am not able to offer you emotional support at this time."
"It's fine. Come on."
After a long moment, Aigis shoves the sentence into the command box, and takes Minako's hand. "I am not able to offer you emotional support at this time," Aigis repeats.
"Okay. Um—I don't know if you're okay with this, or—or if you can feel uncomfortable, or if you can refuse, but... can you just... stay with me for tonight?"
"I regularly stay in this room to watch you sleep," says Aigis.
Minako giggles, but it sounds... odd. Not bubbly and bright like her usual giggles. Sounds wet. Resigned. "Then maybe I'll feel safer knowing you're here," she says, and folds her fingers between Aigis'.
Minako lies back down on the pillow, her hair arrayed out around her shoulders, the open V-neck of her pajamas framing smooth moonlight skin just below Aigis' face. "You can lie down with me," says Minako, which is probably not a command but Aigis shoves into the command box again, so that they're lying face to face. Under the covers, Minako's fingers lace between Aigis', her nails scraping the soft back of Aigis's cloth synthetic skin. Aigis cannot feel Minako's hand under the hollow end-points of her gun-barrel fingers.
"Is this... enough?" Aigis asks.
"It's perfect as long as I get to hold your hand," says Minako. She looks, even sound, more content. Which is odd, because Aigis is a robot, who is neither worried about Minako nor able to offer empathy and emotional support.
"Should I be worried?" Aigis asks.
"You promised you wouldn't be. Don't."
"Understood," says Aigis. Minako closes her eyes, and breathes deep into her pillow. Her whole body sags into the mattress, a construction of flesh and blood, next to Aigis's mannequin form full of bolts and bullets. The mattress is cold on Aigis' end.
"I am not able to offer you emotional support at this time," Aigis whispers.
"Shhh," says Minako quietly, without opening her eyes. "Go to sleep."
Not a command, Aigis determines. Aigis' duties for Minako's welfare take priority. When the sun rises, Aigis is still there, watching the steady rise of Minako's chest, the tension in her eyes, measuring how, even as Minako enteres the deepest REM sleep, Minako's nails on Aigis's hand could rip a real human's skin clear through.

P3 Bad End -Fall of SEES-
@dxfiedfxte // @revolver-jesus
~~~~~
-January 31, 2010-
-Time: Midnight-
At the lobby of Tartarus, the group of SEES, gathers to face their last fight. To reach the top of the Tower and confront Nyx before she brings the ‘Fall’ to humanity, which basically translates to complete human genocide.
The group consists of 9 individuals.
Minato Arisato, Yukari Takeba, Junpei Iori, Akihiko Sanada, Mitsuru Kirijo, Fuuka Yamagishi, Aigis, Ken Amada and Koromaru.
The group walk towards a green portal on the side. A portal mechanism that will take them to floor 252. As close to the top as they can get.
“Everyone.” Fuuka spoke, halting the group. “Is it ok…if I go with you this time? Instead of staying down here.”
The request was surprising to the group. They all eyed each other. “Any reason Fuuka-chan?” Yukari asked.
“Well…” Fuuka nods. Her hands joined together, as she stares at her friends. “Tonight, is the fight of our lives, so I thought…I should be there with you.” Fuuka said “Not just in spirit, but physically there to aid you. We’ve been through so much together…we should end it together as well.”
“Fuuka-chan…” Yukari spoke softly, touched by Fuuka’s simple, yet strong motivation.
“I don’t object.” Mitsuru said, nodding, a faint smile on her lips. “But to be safe, please stay close to us at all times. Understood?”
Fuuka nods. “I understand senpai.”
“Good.” Mitsuru nods. “Then let us be off.”
1 by 1, the group enters the portal and transfer to floor 252.
Only Minato and Fuuka remain. “Hey Fuuka?” Minato halts Fuuka.
“Y-Yes?” Fuuka blinks, not expecting Minato to stop her. “What is it Minato-kun?”
Minato takes a step forward, hands in his pockets. “You did good…back there. Voicing your feelings.”
“Ah!” The compliment surprised Fuuka. Her cheeks turned a light hue red. “Thank you…I only thought I should say what I feel. As you taught me.”
Minato chuckles “Well, I didn’t exactly teach you that. You learned it yourself, even if I partially guided you there.”
“Awful cooking aside?” Minato cringed. “…I know.” Fuuka sighed. “But I am getting better. Just you wait Minato-kun. I’ll cook us a ‘We defeated Nyx’ fest that will…hopefully not churn your stomachs out.”
Minato got a nice laugh out of that. “I’ll hold you to that Fuuka.” With that said, Fuuka steps on the portal.
“…Huh?” Fuuka blinked after pressing the buttons. “…Minato?”
Minato frowned. He walks over to Fuuka. “What’s wrong?”
Fuuka worriedly looks over to him. “The controls aren’t working. They’re shut off.”
“…What…?” Now Minato grows equally worried. “But that’s not possible.”
CLAP. CLAP. CLAP.
Both Minato and Fuuka are taken aback by the sudden sound. The two turn to see a familiar, and unwanted face, sitting on the lobby’s staircase.
“Bravo, Bravo Minato-kun. It’s a grand evening, isn’t it? The last…party, the human race will ever be a part of.”
“…Takaya.” Minato quickly reached for his Evoker. “…So, you survived Moonlight Bridge.”
Takaya Sakaki, leader of STREGA, and the murdered of Shinjiro Aragaki. He chuckles, unamused as he twirls his revolver, yellow eyes staring at blue eyes. “I’m hurt Minato-kun, to think that you would want me dead so badly.” A small smirk etches his lips. “When did you start to think like Aragaki?”
The mention of Shinjiro got Minato more riled up than he expected. “You have no right to say his name.”
“Heh…Aragaki has no rights anymore.” Takaya gets up from the stairs. Still twirling his revolver, and his other hand partially in his pocket, he takes a few steps forward and stops. “The dead never do. That is the beauty of it. Death is freedom, Minato-kun.” He puts a hand on his chest, smiling. “It is a blessing. It is surprising that you don’t see it. After all, Aragaki is no longer suffering, is he not? He’s free from the pain that his mortal body provided him.” Sighing, Takaya shakes his head. “I envy him in that regard.”
“Don’t speak of Shinjiro-senpai as if you knew him.” Fuuka adds, frowning. “It was your pills that got him to where he was. If you hadn’t dragged him to such a dark path.”
“Now now-“Takaya grins, playfully wagging his finger back and forth. “We only offered him our services. If he was too weak to continue the agony of living, then my final actions towards him were an honor. You should be grateful for that.”
“…Shut up.” Minato said, his tone dripping venom. “If you want Death so bad Takaya, take that revolver, and aim it at your head. The trigger should make you quite happy, and out of the havoc of living, as you so see things.”
The dark joke didn’t bother Takaya one bit. He only laughs. “Well well well, I never expected that kind of talk from you Minato-kun.”
“If you haven’t noticed, we’re in a hurry.” Minato deadpanned, itching for his revolver. He noticed Fuuka has been behind him since Takaya appeared, and at a safe distance as well. Nearing the entrance to Tartarus in case she has to make an escape…clever. “We have a date with Nyx.”
“I’m well aware.” Takaya said, and stops twirling his revolver. He holds it right and aims it at Minato. “But, I’m afraid this is one party you won’t be attending.”
“…What did you do to the portal?” Minato angrily inquires. Takaya only laughs.
“Don’t worry about your friends. Jin will handle them. You worry about me now.” Takaya growls, and suddenly growls a grayish white hue. “HYPNOS!”
A semi-transparent being emerges from Takaya’s body. His Persona. A disfigured body held in the air by wings seemingly grafted into his spine. The Persona hovers above Takaya, as he continues to aim the revolver at Minato.
Right behind him, Fuuka summoned Juno, engulfed in a protective sphere. “Have it your way.” Minato said, grabbing his Evoker.
Minato-kun… Fuuka’s voice echoes in his mind. Something is…off about Takaya. I didn’t sense him earlier; And even now, with Juno, I can barely get a reading on him. I’m not sure what’s going on, but he feels different…be careful.
‘…Alright. Thanks, Fuuka.’ Minato thought back, eyeing Takaya curiously. Sure enough, even Minato can notice something’s up. When he summoned Hypnos, Takaya didn’t clutch his head in pain. He summoned it normally, without forcing it, without the use of an external tool like the Evoker.
‘How did he do that…?’ Minato thought, curious, but also nervous. It’s been around 3 months since Moonlight Bridge. Did Takaya undergo some sort of mental training…?
If he separated him from the rest of his group, there’s a good reason for it. Whatever it is…he’ll just have to fight with everything he’s got. He knows his friends can handle Jin.
Evoker aiming at his head, Minato stares at Takaya. Neither make a move, like a wild west shootout.
….
Takaya makes the first move, firing every shot in his revolver. Minato sprints and evades each one skillfully. Upon close range, he draws out his short blade and goes in for the swing.
To his surprise, Takaya blocks each of the swings with his revolver; steel meeting barreled steel.
Hypnos moved into swipe Minato away, which it works. Minato flipped backwards and summoned Orpheus Telos, the evolution of his original Persona. It grabs Hypnos’ face and slams an Agidyne right at it.
Takaya hissed, feeling the pain in his mind. Telos was about to fire another, but Hypnos grabs his hands and pushes him back with great force.
SINGLE SHOT! Takaya fired a large, but simplistic arrow-like shot from his revolver, thanks to Hypnos’ powers. The arrow bullet homes in on Minato at high-speed and follows him as Minato sprints back. ‘Orpheus!’
His Persona nodded, and after a quick roll to avoid the bullet, before it comes back, Orpheus smacks it to the side. Now bouncing all over the floor, but Minato ignores it and rushes at Takaya, who scoffs at him. “Arrow Rain!” he calls out, and Hypnos makes it rain arrows. Minato evades them all and goes for a slice. Takaya blocks it with his revolver, smirking to himself as Hypnos hovers just above him, and at point blank range, charges a Ziodyne.
Behind you Minato!
Minato saw through the eyes of Orpheus, that the single shot from earlier bounced, and is heading right at him. It had bounced off Juno, unfortunately.
That’s when Minato gets an idea.
He glows black/red, and his Persona changes to Black Frost. A bigger Jack Frost that has reverse colors and looks eviler.
MOONLIGHT RAGE!
Suddenly, Takaya is on the defensive, with Minato overpowering him thanks to a red aura engulfing him. He grunts when Minato kicks him back, then ducks. His own single shot from earlier blasts him dead center, skidding him back and crashing onto the stairs.
Minato changed back to Telos; sword ready to strike. Despite some blood pouring out of his chest, Takaya chuckles, rather amused. He raises his head, grinning at Minato.
“Well then, I might have to take this a little seriously after all.” He cracks his neck and isn’t quite holding back anymore at this rate.
Takaya starts Round 2 by firing a Megidolaon, then having Hypnos…slash it into 3? They turn into Megidola’s now. “HAAH!” Hypnos’s wings glow, and suddenly the 3 Megidola’s circle around Minato rapidly. He eyes all 3 warily, unsure which one is gonna move first.
Turns out its all 3. Quick on his feet, Minato changed his Persona to Thanatos. The Persona an old friend left him behind, with a promise to meet again later, to stop him.
The Death Persona engulfs Minato in a Cosmic-like Aura; Just as the 3 Megidola’s close in and explode on him.
Well…they would if they had done anything.
RUNIC SHIELD!
The aura Thanatos blessed Minato with protected him from that one attack. Quickly, Minato changed back to Black Frost, and using Moonlight Rage again, goes on the offensive. Surprised by his attack being deflected, Takaya evades Minato’s swings, until he manages to clash with one, and grins. He pulls the trigger and fires.
The bullet doesn’t just push Minato back, it bounced his sword as well, and scratched his cheek. Minato fell to one knee, surprised and in slight pain.
More surprised when Hypnos fires the Ziodyne from earlier that he thought he stopped. Cursing himself, Minato quickly rolls back and narrowly avoids the incoming lightning bolt. The flash of light upon contact with the floor gave Minato an opportunity.
DIAMOND DUST!
Black Frost screeches and sends giant snowflakes at Takaya’s direction, freezing the very molecules in the air itself as it closes in.
Takaya lets out a loud Tch’ and has Hypnos use Maragidyne. The Persona’s wings glow red and fires a volley of giant fireballs that explode upon contact with the giant snowflakes. Takaya smirked, and it would have been good; if he hadn’t failed to see Minato close in, only his Persona changed. He switched it right after the ice attack. Its now Alice, the famous evil girl of the wonderland books.
Takaya had no time to react when Minato slammed his palm onto his chest.
SALOME’S KISS!
‘What?!’ Takaya thought, feeling himself…Binded? Sealed? Whatever it is, he can’t shake off the feeling. “What did you-“
Now Minato! Strike him down!
Minato quickly changed his Persona again to Attis.
AEON RAIN!
Literal to its name, a multitude of stars fell from the ceiling and slammed onto Takaya. Though whatever was binding him from that attack from Alice was gone. Growling, he goes on the offensive again.
“Myriad Arrows!” Takaya shouts. Hypnos’s wings glow and large volleys of arrow hail from above.
THERMOPYLAE!
Minato is now engulfed in a greenish aura, and just as the volley’s hit, he’s able to avoid all of them, moving faster than normal. Much faster.
“Dormina!” but not fast enough to avoid the real attack. Hypnos cast a spell on Minato upon Myriad Arrows ending, and it put him to sleep.
Minato! Wake up!
“zZz….Mmm…Fuuka…you taste…delicious.”
MINATO THIS IS NOT THE TIME!
“Your…zzz.. special breakfast is so good…”
…Wow ok, I thought he meant…n-no, MINATO! COMPLIMENT ME LATER!
Too late however, Takaya closed in and kicked Minato right in his stomach. That woke him up. The pistol whip to his face? also woke him up. Hypnos’ Cruel Attack Pierce skill certainly made sure he stayed awake.
All 3 attacks dealt plenty of damage to Minato and the last one blasted him back after Hypnos clawed him. He grunts, ignoring the small sensation of blood and the stains on his shirt.
Takaya says nothing, merely grinning as he continues the assault with Magarudyne, Hypnos flocking its wings rapidly to deliver powerful gusts of wind.
Minato grunted, and switches to Black Frost again. Casting Diamond Dust, he freezes the very winds to a halt, stopping the attack entirely.
He couldn’t stop the Megidola that followed after. The blast shook him by surprise, tearing his clothes a bit as he’s pushed back and falls to one knee, having lost a lot of health.
Wasting no time, Takaya orders Hypnos to fire another Megidola.
MINATO!
‘Not…out!’ Minato smirks. He switches to Orpheus Telos. ‘Rough Takaya? Have it rougher than the ruffs!’
RETURN FROM YOMI!
Orpheus Telos engulfs Minato in a white aura, and all his wounds heal, back to full health. ‘Much better’ Minato gets up, and smirks. ‘Now then.’
He switches to Alice CONCENTRATE!
Then to Attis THERMOPYLAE!
Black Frost MOONLIGHT RAGE!
And finally, Thanatos. Minato raises his sword and swings it down. BROADSHOT!
Both Minato’s sword and Thanatos’ cut through the Almighty Attack rather easily, catching Takaya by surprise. “What?!”
Minato then sprints towards Takaya, faster than ever and stabs him via the side. “I’m done with this.” Minato said coldly, and summons Telos. MEGIDOLAON!
At such a close range, Telos fires the attack anyways, and it hits Takaya, pushing him back…then exploding upon contact with the stairs at the back. The force is enough to shake the entire floor; but thankfully, no physical damage to the tower, which is good.
“You did it Minato!” Fuuka cheered excitedly, having called Juno back. She runs to Minato and hugs him tightly, smiling like the happiest girl in the world. “That was a close one though.”
Minato returns the hug, despite the little soreness he has. Nothing a few beads can heal though. “Thanks” he says, smiling back. “…Haah…bastard was stronger…” Minato said, hating to admit that. “But anyways…” he looks at the portal machine. “We need to reactivate that and move on.”
Fuuka nods. She reluctantly pulls back from Minato “I’ll get to work on….H-huh?!” Fuuka stares at the stairs, where Takaya is. “M-Minato…”
Minato turns around and is just as shocked as Fuuka. The smoke dispersed, and Takaya is still standing after that last attack. Heavily wounded but standing.
“Hehehe…HAHAHAHAHA!” And he starts to laugh like a maniac. “Oh, this is…this is MAGNIFICENT…truly, magnificent!” He walks, rather wobbly down the stairs and to the floor again. “To summon such…power, even in the face of death.” Takaya puts his hands in his pockets. “You truly are astonishing, Minato-kun. The power of the Wild Card is to be feared after all.”
Takaya’s sudden grin turned to a large frown. “Which is why I can’t let you live. Whatever it takes…destiny awaits us all tonight. That cannot change.” He takes out a small pillbox from his pocket, and takes out from that box, a large blue/pink pill. “I didn’t think I’d have to use this…but it matters not.” He tosses the box aside, and takes the pill into his mouth, then swallows it. “Aah…”
Minato and Fuuka wanted to ask, but they doubt they’d get answers. Instead, they prepare themselves for the worst.
And the worst did happen. Before their very eyes, Takaya’s wounds heal. But more than that, his body oversaw a drastic transformation. His formerly thinly body grew muscles, about as much as Akihiko, if not more. His glowing yellow eyes, turned bloody red.
But the biggest change wasn’t Takaya. It was his Persona. Hypnos before Minato and Fuuka’s eyes, began to shift and transform.
By the end of the transformation, Hypnos was no more. The disfigured body is long gone, replaced with a humanoid body garbed in golden white robes. The large wings that Hypnos had become a pearl white and are far smaller than before, firmly accommodated on the sides of the Persona’s head. Its face has a blue/white mask with a spiral that descends to the center. The robes are adorned with swirls and twist shapes in black color. The Persona also has a staff with a white/blueish flame at its tip.
“Aah…much better.” Takaya says, breathing heavily as he grips his fists, picking up his revolver and grinning maniacally at Minato. “I feel better than I ever have.”
“…What the hell was that pill?” Minato asks.
Takaya only smiles. “A gift from an old friend…and you shouldn’t worry about this and that. My Persona has evolved, and with it, new power. Say hello to Somnus! My blessing, and your demise Minato!”
Takaya, now engulfed in an evil purple/black aura, orders Somnus to attack. “INSOMNIA!”
Minato quickly raised his sword, but the attack didn’t hit him.
“Min..ato…” ?! Minato turned around. He’s barely able to catch Fuuka before she hits the floor.
“Fuuka? Fuuka!” Minato calls out, but all he gets are Fuuka’s light snores. “He put her to sleep…”
He turns back to Takaya’s maniac laugh, and the large glowing sphere above him and his Persona. “Now die with your girlfriend Minato-kun, Megidolaon!”
Somnus launches the powerful almighty attack at Minato.
Minato cursed himself. ‘Ok…I’m going to have to take him seriously, for better or worse.’ Standing up, he summons Telos, and fires his own Megidolaon in return.
Both attacks clash, and neither seems to overpower the other…at least until Takaya’s starts to push Minato’s back.
“?!” Not believing it, Minato pushes back with Telos. To his shock, he’s getting pushed back hard.
“Afraid Minato?! Your death is imminent! say your prayers!” Takaya yells, grinning like a madman.
‘His Persona surpasses Telos…?’ Minato growls ‘I’m wasting too much time on him. I guess its all or nothing.’ He sighed, and recalls Telos, just before the attacks engulf him.
Just before the two Megidolaon’s hit the floor and explode, they burst into particles, and Minato glows a white blue aura, with Telos now gone, but a new Persona takes the stand.
“? What’s this…?” Takaya frowns “I’ve never seen this one before…”
“And you weren’t supposed to.” Minato said, annoyed. “This is my ultimate Persona. Messiah!”
“…Messiah.” Takaya repeats, chuckling. “Quite a poetic name. A savior are you now, Minato-kun? Who are you saving, exactly?” He frowns, growling “The Dictators that strip away the free will of their people? The politicians that lie to gain reputation for their own gains, betraying the very people that guided them there? The pedophiles and abusers, that surround themselves in the ‘good’ people to protect their own sins?”
“…No.” Minato aims his sword forward “I save the people that can put those to a stop. The resistances that overthrow those tyrants and make them pay, the witnesses and victims that rise up and bring their abuser down, the ones that seek truth above the lies and bribes. I save the future that sees life worth living, unlike you who seeks death, because they’re too weak to find a purpose.” Minato said coolly.
Though his words don’t phase Takaya, he merely grunts. “Fine then…right here, tonight. Let us see, what humanity dictates as its future. Death in peace or living in suffering!”
“Fine by me. Don’t complain when you lose.” Minato said, ready for the assault, though Takaya only laughs.
“Dear Minato-kun, destiny never loses. You will understand by the end of this.”
Minato stares at Takaya and shifts his gaze to the sleeping Fuuka. ‘…I need to draw fire away from her. I can’t protect her while dealing with him at the same time.’
His thoughts were cut off when Takaya began the assault.
“Primal Force!” Takaya shouts, and from the flame on the staff, Somnus launches a large flaming arrow at Minato. Its size doesn’t hinder its speed or power, something that Minato quickly took notice.
‘Shit’ He rolls over it just as it passes by. As he thought, it homes and ignores Fuuka, focusing on him. He evades, ducks, and rolls back from it. Each time the arrow grows greater in speed. It flies up, and then comes down on Minato, exploding in a large range.
Minato had no time to dodge it, but it didn’t matter. He felt no pain, no damage from it; rather he felt himself healed up to a strong degree. “…? Oh.” He wanted to slap himself. ‘Right. Messiah absorbs Pierce. How the hell did I forget that?’
Not like many Shadows have that element, and the only one from his team to even use Pierce is Yukari, who…well…rarely hits her targets. No offense.
“Heh.” Minato chuckles “You’re going to have to do better Takaya.”
“Gladly.” Somnus suddenly starts to glow a strange cyan/magenta/yellow mix of colors. “PSYCHO FORCE!”
Minato raised an eyebrow at the name of the attack. Nothing happens though.
“UUURGH!!” Ok something did happen. Minato suddenly felt a huge amount of pain; yet it wasn’t pain of the body, it was pain of the mind. His head throbs immensely in pain, equivalent to a severe Migraine. Bad enough that his senses went crazy. He can barely hear or even see. “AAgh…wh-WHAT…?!” In his pain, he dropped his sword by accident, and failed to see Takaya order Somnus to cast another spell.
“AVALANCHE!”
Suddenly, giant rocks fall from the sky, creating debris and smoke all over the place. None of them hit Minato, thankfully. Slowly, the pain started to subside. At the very least, he could somewhat see and hear. ‘What are these spells…? I don’t recognize these elements…ugh…my head…its not so bad now but still…’ He tried to see, but the smokescreen from the debris and the large chunks of debris itself made it hard to discern what’s flesh and what isn’t. ‘What is going on…where did Takaya learn these elements? Was it that pill…? Where is he…? I can’t hear him…’
He slowly stands up and tries to look around. He can’t tell anything apart. ‘Great…I’m cornered and a sitting duck. If Fuuka were awake she could pinpoint his location for me. Come on, focus Minato…he has to make a sound at some point…’
Bump Bump, Bump Bump, Bump Bump
Nothing…and yet… ‘…Why do I feel so afraid…?’ Minato thought to himself. His heartrate is increasing exponentially, his body is flaring up in temperature, as if reacting to fear. His senses are starting to come back as well. He blinks a few times, slowly regaining his sight.
Bump Bump, Bump Bump, Bump Bump
Oh, that’s the fear instinct. Takaya snuck up on him, and his revolver is aimed right at his forehead.
Bump Bump
He hears the safety trigger go off…
BOOM
“?!” Takaya was suddenly pushed back by Minato emitting a ridiculously powerful Aura. Worse, 2 Persona summon wildly in chains that break and glare at him. “LUCIFER, COSMIC FLARE!”
The right Persona, Lucifer, blasts Takaya with a powerful Nuclear spell, severely hurting Takaya and sending him flying.
“KEEP UP, SATAN!” Minato calls out the left Persona. It flies and grabs Takaya “BLACK VIPER!”
Satan wraps Takaya in its slimy bug-like tentacles, and squeezes the life out of Takaya, then throws him to the floor. Takaya bounces like a rag doll before stopping. Yet shockingly he gets up, albeit wobbly.
“FUSION SPELL, ARMAGEDDON!” The two Persona join forces, and fire an almighty attack, about 3 times the size of Megidolaon.
The sheer size of the attack made Takaya nearly afraid. Nearly. “SOMNUS…!”
Takaya uttered a word before the attack hit him, and a massive explosion shakes the entire lobby. Fuuka’s sleeping form was also pushed back (a blessing, really). Minato wasn’t affected by the explosion, but he stares it, in awe and mostly confusion. The two Persona vanish, and Messiah returns from Minato’s unconscious mind.
‘…What…w-what was that?’ Minato thought warily. ‘Satan and…Lucifer?’ He falls to one knee, panting heavily, his headache back again thanks to the sheer willpower he unwillingly used. ‘But…I-I didn’t fuse them at the Velvet Room…’ He shook his head. ‘I couldn’t…Elizabeth told me they were too much for me. How did I…?’
Well, whatever the reason, it did the job. ‘Good riddance Takaya, stay dead…’
“Heh… nice skill back there.” Takaya chuckles from the smoke. As it clears up, he’s…surprisingly alive. Shocking Minato. “You nearly killed me back there, you know?”
Minato gritted his teeth, starting to lose his patience at this point. “How did you-“
“Phantasos.” Takaya explains, smirking “My Persona made me invulnerable to all attacks, for a small period of time.” He sighs heavily. “I cast it just in time. One second later, and I would have been done for.”
“…Goddammit Takaya. Stay dead.” Minato said, agitated and plain annoyed now.
“Hehe…not yet Minato-kun.” Takaya aims his revolver at the Fool. “We’re nearing the climax now, pay attention.” He motions to look up.
“?” he looks up. Too late. Somnus’ staff changed to an…axe? And slammed it down at Minato. Minato screamed in pain, the attack shredding part of his clothes and skin. Blood pours out badly, and worse, Somnus picks Minato up and tosses him like a rock onto one of the pillars.
“FREIDYNE!” Somnus casts and fires a powerful nuclear spell at Minato that blasts and shreds him more, now bleeding from other places.
Landing heavily onto the corner wall, Minato ignores the immense pain, and takes out a pill from his school’s jacket pocket and swallows it. “Gah…”
Instantly, he feels his wounds heal, his skin rejuvenates and closes, and all blood recuperated. Better, he starts to glow in a faint Blue/Green/Red aura mix and gets up. “Takaya!” Minato shouts, and has Messiah rush at Somnus. Takaya smirks and has him down the same with Somnus.
Both Personas clash several times at breakneck speed. Both Minato and Takaya cringe with every blow, feeling the pain in their minds, until the final blow blasts Somnus back tremendously. “What…?!” Takaya fell to one knee, clutching his head in pain, growling, and glaring at Minato.
“You’re not the only one who can buff himself Takaya.” Minato said, Evoker in hand. “You underestimate Messiah, and the help of outside.”
“…Outside?” Takaya raises an eyebrow.
‘That trip to Yasoinaba was a miracle.’ Minato thought, recalling that summer trip there. ‘That girl with the poetry and the punk getup…Marie. Right, that was her name. That pill I just took was from her. What did she call it…Ofuda Sutra? Said it’d protect me.’ Minato thought. He forms a smile, a thankful smile. ‘I don’t know if she knew, but regardless, I’m thankful. Next time I’m there, I’m hugging her big time.’
“Hmm…this is turning out to be an annoyance.” Takaya gets on one knee, albeit barely. Minato can tell he’s on his last leg. That buff or whatever from the pill must be wearing off.
“You’re telling me?” Minato says rather sarcastically. ‘I hope the others are ok. I wasn’t expecting this to take so damn long. Wait for me a little longer, everyone.’ “But it’s time to end it Takaya.”
Takaya chuckles, smiling wickedly “On that, we agree Minato-kun. One last dance.”
“Only your last.” Minato pulls the trigger and has Messiah rush at Takaya and Somnus. “AGNEYASTRA!”
“ICELOS!” Between the powerful ice attack from Takaya, and the immense swords from Messiah, the victor was decided rather easily.
Messiah’s large swords cut through the ice like butter, and the God Hand that came later from Minato hit Takaya square-on, as did the swords to Somnus. Between the two attacks to Somnus and Takaya, the duo fell, crashing against the stairs, Blood drawn heavily. Takaya groans as he feels Somnus fade back into his mind, and the immense pain that he feels.
Minato recalls Messiah but keeps the Evoker close to him at all times to his head. “…You done?” Minato asks, panting lightly. The buff from the pill vanished. Seems it was short-lived… “Because I have a human race to save Takaya.”
“…Tch…you fool…you really are this naïve.” Takaya chuckles, eyes closed. “We are but mere mortals. Ants, to the Gods above. We cannot change our fate. You would be foolish to deny it. Destiny was already decided for us, long before even our own births.”
“Cut the crap.” Minato said angrily. “We fight against that destiny, for good reason. Humanity can learn from its mistakes and do better.”
“Heh…so naïve indeed. Its almost sickening.” Takaya opens his eyes and struggles to sit down, his eyes back to their normal yellow. “If Humanity did not learn from the death of Jesus Christ, from the Crusades, the genocide of the tribes of old, or even from the World Wars that killed billions, they aren’t going to start now Minato-kun.” He laughs. “Its our destiny to end ourselves. There is no such thing as prophecies or myths that tell us our fate. We only have to look around us…the threat to humanity, is itself. Always has been, always will be.”
“I really don’t care what you think.” Minato says sharply. “We’re done here.”
“Hm…Yes Minato-kun. We both are done for.” He grins. “Goodbye.”
“? What are you-“
Schloook
Minato’s eyes widen. He trembled, suddenly. His Evoker left his hands, thanks to the immense pain he feels from his chest.
He looks down to see…his own sword, covered in his own blood, having pierced his chest. He turns around.
“…Fuuka…?” He muttered, confused, scared, bewildered. Indeed, Fuuka is awake, and stabbed him from behind.
“Hehehe…how ironic. See Minato? I told you.” Takaya’s laughs echo in the chamber. He stands up, albeit with effort. “I was never the threat. You should have watched your girlfriend a little closer.”
“…Y-You…” he spews blood, thanks to Fuuka pulling back the sword, and tossing it to the side.
“Yes. Earlier, I casted Somnia on her.” Takaya lifts Minato’s head to stare at him. “You should have paid attention. I didn’t put her to sleep Minato.” He grins, and slaps Minato gently. “I put her under my control, my will. I had her pretend to be asleep…and as we fought, I disarmed you. She got the sword while you were surrounded in that debris and smoke earlier.”
Minato fell to his knees, unable to call his Persona anymore. Breathing became hard to do. A slight feeling of faintness started to overcome him. His hearing is slightly faint as well now. “You…cheater…”
“Cheater?” Takaya shook his head. “I told you Minato-kun. Destiny is inevitable. I merely guided you to it. You can thank Kirijo for that.” He chuckles. “But I’ll be merciful. It is your last moments of life after all.” He snaps his fingers.
“W-…h-huh…?” Fuuka shook her head. “What…where-“
“Welcome back sleeping beauty.” Takaya smirks at her. “And to your waking nightmare.”
He aims his revolver at Fuuka. Minato saw it, his eyes widened. All of his instincts kicked. Everything went slow. He tries to get up. He fails, he trips. The pain of his head hitting the hard floor didn’t matter to the pain of seeing Takaya pull the trigger. He screams, with all his might and soul.
NOOOOOO!
BANG
The sound of a bullet firing echoes in the chamber, and it hit its target dead-on.
Fuuka fell to her knees seconds later, eyes widened, shock from the sound of the bullet, the sound of Minato’s scream, the confusion of what is going on…and the sheer immense pain that just pierced her chest.
“Hah…how quaint.” Takaya shook his head. “A lovely way to end this little game, don’t you think?” he kicks Minato and laughs. “Well…it is done. You can thank this defeat to Kirijo, and Ikutsuki.” He grins “I forgot to mention that. Who do you think supplied us with the pills needed to control our Persona?” he stares at the shook Minato, and the coughing Fuuka. “The only one capable of producing said pills. Shuji Ikutsuki was our supplier. The fall of Aragaki can be placed on him as well. His work after all…the same goes for that pill I took earlier.” He explains. “A last parting gift from him, and what a gift. It did its job, and I am more than content with the results.”
Minato and Fuuka didn’t say anything, too engrossed in their own pain to answer. “…Good night, the two of you. This was fun. Sweet dreams in death.” Takaya laughs, and his laugh echoes in the lobby as he leaves Tartarus, with Minato and Fuuka struggling to survive.
“F-Fuuka…” Minato struggled to get up, trying to contain the blood leaving his wounded body. “I-I can’t stop this…” no healing pill will heal this wound. He starts to feel weaker as well. “F-Fuuka…I…”
Fuuka continues to cough blood, crying as she does so. “M-Min…e-everyone…”
———————————————————————————————————————
Above on floor 258, Jin breathes heavily, leaning on the wall as blood pours from the various bullet holes in his body. “Damn…you.” Jin grunted. “If I knew you had such an ability, I would have killed you first…oh well…” he slumps over. “It’s done…”
Aigis pants heavily as she barely stands. Her weapons fall from her body, as her damaged armor and form succumb to the pain. She stares in utter shock, disbelief, and despair. The other members of SEES are dead. Jin killed them all. It was an ambush, and she was the only survivor from the explosion.
“M..Minato…wh…why…what happ-SYSTEMERRORCORE.EXEDAMAGED.PLUMEOFDUSKENERGYLOW.SHUTTINGDOWNSHUTTINGDOWN.”
Aigis fell to the floor, succumbed to her injuries…
————————————————————————————————————————
“Dead…” Fuuka spoke low enough for Minato to hear. “…Th-…they’re all dead…I-I can’t…I can’t sense them anymore…! Minato…!”
Minato just stayed there, near Fuuka, in utter disbelief. He coughs blood as well and feels even weaker. “F-Fuuka. It’s not…”
Fuuka coughs blood more violently, clutching her bloody chest. “I CAN’T BREATHE…MINATO I CAN’T BREATHE…!”
“Fuuka please, stay with me…!” Minato wanted all of this to be a nightmare. A horrifying nightmare that he would wake up from.
But then the entire Tower shook. He felt it.
…Nyx is awake. Outside the Tower, the Moon has opened up like a latch, revealing a large red eye that watches the world. In an instant, Nyx blasts constant massive shockwave that tears the planet and its people. Each one makes more humans succumb to their shadows, becoming large black blobs, losing their humanity in the process. Their flesh becoming tar, and their consciousness fading to sheer instinct.
Minato held Fuuka tightly, crying alongside his dying girlfriend as he feels the shockwaves, and his consciousness fade. “Fuuka…”
“…” No response. Fuuka feels cold…
…She’s dead. She died in his arms, having choked in her own blood…
And one more shockwave later, Minato felt himself die as well. An eternal sleep that he will never wake up from. Nobody will.
….
……
Death is not a hunter unbeknownst to its prey. One is always aware that it lies in wait. Though life is merely a journey to the grave, it must not be undertaken without hope. Only then will a traveler’s story live on, treasured by those who bid him farewell. But alas, my guest's life has now ended, his tale left unwritten. His destiny shattered.
….
“Did you see that? This…this star right here.”
“It faded…that isn’t normal.”
“Indeed. Something is wrong…this timeline was not meant for destruction. I fear something is amiss. This unexpected shift can cause a ripple. We must watch the other timelines.”
“Do you want me to investigate?”
“…No. Not yet. We need to pinpoint what went wrong first. Let us analyze this failed timeline and see what changes it had from the original.”
“If we’re not careful, that ripple could affect us.”
“I’m aware. I’ll tell the others to be alert for any changes.”
“Understood…”
October Challenge Day 13
This is actually a rewritten version of yesterdays prompt but I hated what I wrote yesterday so I rewrote it again today.
The prompt was ‘Broken Down’ from the Whumptober prompts list. Given that it’s a Whumptober prompt, I feelI probably don’t need to say but uh... yeah I turned Labby into a punching bag again. It’s the third installment of the ‘zap Labby’ idea, taking place when she’s with the Shadow Ops and been with them for a little while. It’s basically, ‘Labby struggling with the associations between the maintenance chair and the hell she had to endure in the lab’. I’ve once again left the ending open so I guess this is getting another installment. Great.
Labby has officially taken over my October Challenge with this idea alone. Someone stop this rabid plot bunny please.
Anyway, the fic under cut!
The first time it happened, no one had been around. Her balancers had malfunctioned and she’d tripped and fallen hard.
Labrys had hissed at the awkward way her knee was forced to bend and at the awful way she’d landed on her wrist. She’d had to stay there for a few minutes as her balancers came back online and made the world stop spinning every time she to tried to move. When she did get back up, she’d considered going to see Fuuka to repair them but thought better of it at the time. It wasn’t that bad.
She’d carried on as normal, an ache in her knee and a soreness in her wrist that had gradually worn off by the end of the day.
The second time it happened, she’d been walking with Koromaru and Ken and her chain arm decided to unlatch itself at the same time as her visor decided to fall over her face mid-sentence. She’d scrambled to put her arm back before anyone had noticed, Ken helping out as pointless information started flying across the inside screen on her visor and obstructed her vision.
He’d asked if she was okay as she tugged at said visor as it jammed into place over her eyes and he’d had to help her with that as well before she broke it with a lack of patience. She’d insisted at the time that it was just a minor fault that got in the way sometimes and had taken some time to convince him it wasn’t worth bothering Fuuka over.
It was during the third time, she had to admit that maybe this was getting out of hand. Labrys had been alone thankfully when her mind went dark and she’d lost all external input for about a full minute. It’d scared her half to death to suddenly be numb with no ability to move or sense anything for even that short period of time and when everything came back, she’d had to sit down to keep herself grounded.
She didn’t ever want to be in that box again and that had just brought it all crashing back.
She should go to see Fuuka. She knows she should.
So she does.
Labrys entered the maintenance room where Fuuka often went to tinker with her engineering projects and hadn’t known what to say. She’d found herself asking about the projects she was working on and wondering what in the world all the dials and buttons were for. When asked why she’d come, she’d paused. She made to answer but had found the words wouldn’t come. Fuuka waited patiently as she made a few more attempts before her eyes had wandered and noticed something she probably shouldn’t have.
On the desk, right nearby sat a familiar little box shaped object with two familiar prongs jutting out one side.
Labrys had never been better at lying than in that one moment. As a notoriously bad liar, she’d even amazed herself at how convincing she’d sounded as she made up some random excuse to avoid what she’d come in for. She’d been scared enough as it was to ask for help but now…
Things were getting worse. The wear on her joints had started to ache nonstop, her visor got jammed what seemed like every five minutes and it was getting much harder to keep this to herself. This was nothing compared to what she would go through if she asked for help.
She’d had a few more momentary blackouts but had luckily managed to avoid having them in front of people. The malfunctions… not so much.
She’d nearly rocket punched Junpei when everything suddenly went off and the safety latches failed. Yeah… that had taken some convincing to keep that one from getting reported.
Thankfully she’d managed to almost completely avoid Mitsuru and Aigis most of the time. She knew there’d be no convincing either of them if something happened in front of them. The last thing she wanted was to be forced into that situation again…
Especially when she finally felt like she had some semblance of control over her life now. She wasn’t ready to let that go for even a moment.
“What’s your opinion on this, Labrys? You’ve been quiet.” Mitsuru spoke up, drawing her attention to the present. They were stood in her office for a meeting on some recent shadow activity, they being her, Aigis, Akihiko and Mitsuru herself. Looks like she’d zoned out again…
“Uh…” Mitsuru raised an eyebrow, seemingly already knowing why she hadn’t said anything. “Yeah, sorry. Ya lost me…” Labrys gave her an apologetic smile as she fidgeted with her hands awkwardly, a little embarrassed.
“It’s quite alright. Aigis can fill you in on the details of our discussion later.” She then offered out a file to her that she reached to take. She froze partway, flinching at the ache in her elbow that doubled with the loud grating noise that echoed from it. Mitsuru seemed to have a similar reaction, an awkward silence raining down on them.
“Was that-”
“It sounds worse than-” They both spoke at the same time before stopping themselves. A small bubble of panic started rising form within her and she quickly reached the rest of the way to take the file.
Hastily opening it up, she tried to ignore the red hot stares of the other three people in the room.
“Sister?” Aigis started hesitantly, earning an absent hum in response as ruby eyes scanned the words in front of her. “Have you been to see Fuuka-san recently?”
“Uh… yeah I saw her a little bit ago. Why?” She feigned ignorance as she flipped through the pages, narrowing her eyes on some of the details thoughtfully. She shook her head before Aigis could continue, “actually, never mind that. Did I miss the reason why we’re investigatin’ some ghost stuff?”
“Mitsuru thinks it might have something to do with shadows. It’s a bit of a long shot, but it can’t hurt to have a quick look, right?” Akihiko answered, crossing his arms as he leaned on the wall. Labrys nodded at what was probably repeated information from when she’d stopped listening.
She heard Aigis say something right as her sensors went fuzzy for a moment. She should probably get out of here before anything worse happens…
“W-well, um. Who’re ya sendin’ on a ghost hunt?” She asked, before realising she’d interrupted Aigis who gave her a funny look. “Ah, sorry. I musta spaced out again, heh…”
“You seem to be doing that a lot today, sister.” A blonde eyebrow raised and Labrys had to find a way to casually look back down at the files.
“Meh. It happens.” She gave a small shrug, ignoring the sting it caused. “Well, if ya don’t need me then-” Labrys made to hand the file to Akihiko as she approached the door to leave, only for everything to choose that moment to go wrong. Her eyes went dark for a moment as her hand lost its grip on the file and she lost her balance.
“Labrys!” She couldn’t tell who’d shouted that before the rest of her sensors shut off. A fear started pulsing through her at the lack of outside input and she scrambled to reboot everything. No sound, no sight, no smell, no touch… nothing. The only thing telling her she wasn’t completely unconscious being the fact her mind was racing.
Her hearing came back first and she clung to it, pushing the sensitivity up to maximum.
“So she’ll be fine?” Voices! She focused all of her attention on the sounds as the damage sensors came back online and started filling her head with the white noise of pain.
“Physically? Of course. Emotionally…” Fuuka’s soft voice answered the first. “Well there had to be a reason for this.” Reason for what? The feeling started returning to her body then, letting her know she wasn’t in a very comfortable place. The balancers on the back of her head shifted awkwardly as they came back online, her motor functions beginning to return as well.
“Hm? Is she awake?” Mitsuru asked, seemingly having noticed her small movements.
“Hmm…I don’t think she’s fully back online just yet. I think she can hear us though.” Fuuka answered sounding slightly more optimistic.
“How can you tell?” Akihiko followed by the sounds of footsteps by her left side.
“Oh it’s right here, see? The sensors are turned right up to maximum whereas when you got her here, they were only at about three quarters of the max.” The explanation made her worry a little. How were they seeing this…? “I can’t help but wonder where that damage came from though…” Damage?
A discomfort started building in her lower arms, an irritating, highly unwelcome feeling and after a few moments she realised why it was there. She felt the fans on either side of her head suddenly activate as her thoughts spiralled.
She was plugged in. They could see everything in her head. There was virtually nothing to stop them from doing anything. What were they doing? What had they done?
“Sister? Calm down.” Aigis suddenly spoke up, easing the panic slightly but not enough to stop the fans. Her optics came back online at that point, her eyes flying open to see something other than the pitch black. With her sight back, she found the cables attaching her to whatever computer Fuuka had linked them up to and immediately made to remove them.
When her hand met resistance, her heart sank further and the fear skyrocketed. Without a moment to think, she pulled on the restraints, pushing against them with increasing power despite the pain such strain caused her.
“Wait, Labrys stop!” Aigis was suddenly in her sight as she heard the restraints creak and begin to stretch under the sheer force she was pushing on them. “Sister! It’s okay! See? You’re in the maintenance bay! With me, Fuuka-san, Mitsuru-san and Akihiko-san!” She was promptly ignored as she struggled to free herself.
Gritting her teeth she briefly felt Aigis trying to hold her down. How could she try and stop her? Didn’t she see what they were gonna do to her?
“No! Lemme go!” She screamed at them the very moment her vocal systems finished rebooting. “I don’t wanna do it anymore!”
“Hey! Stop! You’re gonna hurt yourself!” Akihiko was at her side too, trying to stop her from causing any more damage to her already hurting limbs. She thrashed about on the chair as they continued to try and calm her down.
“Labrys, listen to me! It’s okay! You’re not at that lab anymore. You’re in my old maintenance chair, see?” Aigis kept trying but Labrys just doubled her efforts. This is the one place she didn’t want to be, why were they doing this to her?
Weren’t they supposed to be friends? Wasn’t Aigis supposed to be her sister? Then why would they force her to do this?!
“Stop it! Just lemme go!” She felt the tears start falling when they just held onto her tighter, their betrayal causing a wound bigger than any weapon possibly could in her heart.
Ruby eyes flitted about wildly, her gaze briefly finding Mitsuru’s. She didn’t seem to know what to do but she was the only one not stopping her from leaving. She took an instinctive step back at the look in her eyes and Labrys latched onto that.
“M-Mitsuru-san! Help!” She called out to her, desperation to get as far away from here as possible muddling any other thought process. Mitsuru’s eyes widened before a loud grating sound erupted from her right side.
“Sister!” Aigis cried in alarm as the restraint snapped and Labrys lost control of two fingers on that hand. She screeched at the searing pain the damage had caused and fought harder against her captors. She wanted out.
“Fuuka, do something!” Akihiko yelled as he struggled to prevent her from breaking the other restraints as well.
“I…” Pained ruby eyes found Fuuka’s round, hesitant ones. What was she gonna do? Aigis pulled back harder on her damaged arm and drew her attention away as she cry out at the amount of hurt that pulsed from the break.
“Fuuka, whatever you’re about to do, just do it.” Mitsuru commanded. “Somethings not right here.” Labrys found Fuuka again in dismay.
“No! I don’t wanna go through that again! Jus’ lemme go!” She pleaded, hoping her friend would listen to her but…
“I’m sorry, Labrys. It’ll be okay, I promise.” She said, never breaking eye contact as she pressed a button on the keyboard. Almost immediately a weight fell on her mind. What had she done?
Labrys felt more tears fall as it suddenly became difficult to move or even keep her eyes open. She was shutting down. Fuuka had started a shutdown.
“No…!” She tried to protest but the words had trouble leaving her lips as her body was forced to relax and she felt the energy quickly drain away from her. “Why…?” She managed to mumble right as her eyes lost focus and her head fell back against the chair. Labrys struggled to hold onto her consciousness, desperately trying to force her eyes to stay open as Aigis shifted from holding her down, to holding her close. She offered as much comfort as she could with small words she could barely make out in the fog covering her senses.
Labrys didn’t hold out long. Her eyes fell shut and she drifted away into nothingness…
A heaven before Heaven
[Cross posted from ao3]
Aikoto Week 2020- Day 3: Reunions
Aigis finds herself in a field of sunflowers.
                             °°°°°°°°°°°°°°°
Her gears struggled to whirl as she desperately tried to clamber up off the floor grappling anything to pull herself in a last desperate attempt to stand. Her metal soles slipped against the hard cold floor and it wasn’t long before she finally collapsed back harshly onto her knees, if it wasn’t for the fact that she wasn’t human she was sure they would have bruised significantly. The last attack did too much damage and whatever strength she had left was purely gone. Orgia Mode just took too much.
Her mind was blurry, and so too her vision.
After the events of her sister Labrys a thick red fog had followed soon after causing its own form of the Dark Hour and they were attacked by fake shadow versions of themselves. It’s where they met back up with the unofficial Investigation Team from the unknown town of Inaba to confront the red-haired man who was responsible for not only recreating the hour of shadows but the kidnapping of her older sister.
And when she saw her sister being hijacked in front of her and knowing there was nothing she could do to fight it, the way it took over her body just like that- it brought back so many bad memories to say the least…
They thought that when they had cornered him that it was all over: but it was far from over. It had happened almost in an instant. An unknown entity took over him and they all were attacked. It was strong to say the least, incredibly strong and without the help of the wildcard powers they were easily wiped to their feet. It didn’t help that they were taken by surprise.
The man, or entity had approached her more closely now. To see Aigis’s face more clearly. It looked around before it’s eyes finally moved away from the group and rested on her. It spouted ones usual monologue, about its goal in order to restore its body and most importantly to destroy the world: about how it was now nearly successful and the world was to end in less than an hour.
How many times has it been now that she had laid broken and completely useless when people needed her the most? She had learnt over the years to not blame herself for her short comings but that doesn’t mean it didn’t hurt any less.
She tried to pull herself back onto her elbows but she could barely even lift her head. She fought tougher beings before- they had fought tougher things before, gone though so much to protect mankind. So why? Why now was they falling though? How did it get so easily though their defences that they had spent a long time to perfect?
Was this really supposed to be the end after everything that has happened..?
She couldn’t think anymore, her head slumped back down on the ground. Her energy was finally gone.
                                           .
                                           .
                                           .
Light.
And the smell of flowers.
It was bright, too bright.
And yet it didn’t hurt her eyes.
Was her eyes open or were they closed? She couldn’t tell but eventually her eyes focused and she was given the ability to see around her. But there really wasn’t much to see, in fact there wasn’t anything to see except an empty abyss of of white light. There was no ground and yet she was able to stand firmly on her legs.
Even though there was nothing something inside of her told her to walk forward.
She didn’t know where she was going. She couldn’t even remember what she was doing or why she was here. How did she get here? Where was even ‘here’..?
There was no sound or colour. No voices or people. No objects or shadows. It was completely and utterly quiet.
At first there was nothing; then there was something.
It was something small and yellow in colour which laid ahead of her, and so that’s where she went.
It became clearer and began to have more clarity the further she neared towards it. It became larger and less blurry and soon she could make out an outline of it. Eventually when she was near enough she stood in front of it and kneeled to inspect what this yellow thing was that by instinct told her to go to.
It was a sunflower.
It was small but none the less impressive or as beautiful. It was a strange but beautiful flower that she had always adored. She never knew much about flowers because it was never necessary information for fighting shadows so it was never put into her programming, but after learning much about humans she became drawn to them along with many other things that fascinate humans in the attempt that one day she will be truly able to understand them. But as her human companions had always said to her ‘it was okay if you don’t understand the way humans act’, because not even themselves ever truly knew why humans behave the way they do. It’s just how they are.
She could tell it was healthy and well looked after. It wasn’t wilted at all and its petals almost glowed. It was the most buetifulest thing that she had seen in a long time.
There was no water or soil so how was it that it was here? She moved her hand to the base of the flower to see how the plant worked and how it was that it had grown in seemingly nothing.
As soon as she touched it she became completely startled. Not by the sunflower, no, but she became startled by her own self. Her hands, they were not normal… Because they were normal..?
Her hands weren’t made of hardened cold metal, they were made of flesh and they were warm. She raised these hands to the side of her head to find that where her gears once sat were no longer present. She felt the need to gasp for oxygen something that she had never needed to do before ,though she knew that even in this state she did not need it.
The light, this flower and her seemingly human form: Did this mean that she was dead?
But then did machinery go to heaven? It made her think for a bit but then she thought about something Mitsuru and her friends used to tell her back when they had first met 'anything that had a persona was proof that they were human no matter what it may be’, it didn’t matter if they were a dog or a shadow or even a robot. She was made from a fragment of Nyx’s wing but that small fragment grew into a soul.
What was she supposed to do now though if she was dead? All of her friends… She had left them alone to fight… Something. Where where her friends? They relied on her and she had left them. She was supposed to protect them and yet she had gone and left them… What if they were already dead… Wasn’t the world supposed to be destroyed soon… Or had it already ended..?
She slowly slumped her head and locks of her hair covered her face as she thought about her friends, how she most likely failed them. She hated being so weak.
She sat there for a while before eventually moving her right hand to brush away the blonde hair and as she did she noticed something that sat a little further beyond the yellow flower.
It was a small blade of grass. Even though it was small it seemed larger to her. She walked slowly on her knees and lent over to inspect it like she had with the flower. As she hovered over it she soon saw more green blades.
One blade became two and two became a few, and these few became more. She rose to her feet and curiously followed the charming green path. She noticed as she was walking that her feet too were human in nature and she was barefoot but only noticed when she felt how it was to walk on this grass and how the blades dug into her soles. It didn’t hurt much at all like she had thought, in fact it felt almost nice, it was much nicer than she would have imagined the feeling to be.
As she travelled along the green carpet of grass it wasn’t long at all before she came across another little yellow flower. It was just as pretty as the previous one and from there she found more yellow sunflowers except for this time they were slightly taller. It wasn’t long before she found herself in a field of tall sunflowers that reacted slightly above her head.
And then she heard sound.
It was the chittering of birds and she could almost feel the sound of wings flapping in the sky and so she looked up. She hadn’t realised when but the view above her had turned into a sunny sky complete with a few scarce but soft pale clouds and birds of all colours flew in the sky leaving feathers in their wake. She couldn’t help but smile at this beautiful garden.
Then she didn’t know where to go next as the trail of grass was now lost in the towering stems. But then did it matter if she lost herself in this field, it was nice so why was there a reason for her to leave?
There wasn’t but when she had stayed there and looked at the birds for a long time a familiar butterfly had drawn her from her thoughts. It had fluttered for a few moments on a stem close to her for a few moments before taking back off and even though it couldn’t talk she had felt that it wanted her to follow it in the back of her mind.
Just like everything else she had seen she had followed it wherever it wanted to take her. She took twists and turns manoeuvring though the the flowers like a maze and eventually she had quickened her pace when she thought she had lost sight of the butterfly. She and the butterfly had emerged into a clearing, the flowers much less dense.
It looked like a well-kept garden in the centre of the clearing and following the butterfly she walked through many of thin white archways of thinly welded metal. Though it was a small stone birdbath and a white, wooden bench and a few scattered holes in the ground along with a garden shovel and bags of compost from someone who was most likely tending the sunflowers.
Before she took another step her line vision was blocked by a swam of familiar blue velvet butterflies. She had to hold herself back in order not to flinch when some got too close to her face.
The butterflies had eventually spread out into the neighbouring flowers and she was able to see again more clearly.
There on the bench was someone sitting with a large straw hat and a colourful T-shirt. She guessed they were the gardener of this place. She wasn’t sure if the other knew of her presence but when she got close enough to them they didn’t flinch but instead raised the large straw hat that had obscured their face.
…It was him.
This time she couldn’t hold herself back and raised a hand to her mouth. He looked at her pleasantly and smiled. She should be feeling sad especially at this point, her head yells it but her heart just doesn’t cooperate. Instead she feels something she has yet to describe. It would be daring to say it was relief or maybe it could be described as satisfaction or fullness, but she does however feel almost happy in her own odd way.
She takes a seat beside him and stares at him in almost shock and surprise in a welcoming silence. Eventually though she couldn’t help but break the silence between the two of them to satisfy her own curiosity.
“…You’re really here aren’t you?”
He looked at her for a moment before giving her a small nod, but she was willing not to talk about its possibilities out of fear.
“It really is quite nice here. It’s almost… Like a paradise.
May I ask where 'here’ is exactly.”
He looks a slightly less happy but far from sad. The answer he gives her sounds almost well-rehearsed. “Here. I guess you could call it in a way a 'heaven before a heaven’ or something similar I guess. If you want to know exactly, this is inside the seal.”
Her eyes widen in confusion. “How is that even possible..? Y-your seal… It was made in Taurus, it was supposed to an inpenadrable barrier. Nothing, nothing should be able to enter the seal. ” She said almost desperately, her voice raising slightly. It didn’t make any sense, was she only hearing what she wanted to hear.
He gave her a brief moment to calm down before replying. “That is true, but you are forgetting something. All living things are connected to the sea of souls; that also means that I am not exempt. ”
She opened her mouth but he cut her off(,something in which he rarely does). “It’s okay. You do not need to worry, nothing can enter here what I don’t will. She cannot enter here and so you do not need to worry about her.”
She wants to tell him though that nothing is alright, her friends are somewhere out there fighting and she is not and the world was going to end soon if it hadn’t already. How was anything okay..?
She moved her head slightly and yet those knowing grey eyes manage to meet her’s even though she was sure she had turned her head away to avoid his gaze. She’s always been drawn to him.
She scans the blue-haired boy over and she notices how he’s wearing sandals, she also notices how he looked better than he had ever been before February.
February… That was right, he had died in March. It had been years since she had seen him last.
He most have noticed her getting more sadder and so shuffled closer to her copying her same actions earlier.
“The world is not over and your friends are still alive, though they are struggling without you. ”
She feels slightly lighter but soon shakes her head. “I’m glad to hear it, but I’m- I’m dead. There’s nothing more I can do. ”
“No, you are not dead but that is only the case if you do not return. Right now you are only unconscious in the real world. Time does not fun function here as it does with yours.”
His response causes her to frown. “Why am I here though if I’m only just asleep; Why am I here?”
He doesn’t say anything for awhile: he only looks at the butterflies and the surrounding sunflowers around them. After several moments he says something to her again but does not turn his head back to face her. “I guess it would be because your resolve requires to be renewed or more simply you need to clear your mind of frustration and regret. 'Even a blind woman can tell when she’s walking in the sun’, but a blinded mind can’t. Your letting it control you, you remember when that happened.
I brought you here I guess because I wanted to show you this garden.”
She could tell he had put a lot of effort into this garden and she was glad that he had brought her here. She had her hands together in habit realising how strange they felt and soon her gaze travelled to Minato’s. She placed one of her hands down on the wooden bench. For some reason her mind was filled with the desire to touch his own hand, a desire that had long been buried in the back of her mind. He didn’t even have to look down but yet he knew exactly what she was thinking about and placed his hand on top of hers.
He sat there stunned for a bit nearly letting out a tepid gasp. In response however she entwined her fingers with his.
“If that is the case then may I do this.” She said not really in the form of a question but more of a statement than anything.
“Of course.”
They sat there for awhile her human hand together with his. With her mechanical hands she was never really able to experience the heat of a human body in the way that another biological being does, it was one of the few small things she was jealous of that humans had that she could not acquire. Eventually at some point her head had found his shoulder and he had not cared to mind the intrusion.
Time didnt really work here. For all she could know she could have been there for a thousand years.
But eventually no matter how satisfied and content she was there was anpther part of her that called out to a place far more distant than here and she knew exactly what it was.
“I see your heart is calling out to them. It’s time you return back to them. ”
Her heart saddened at the thought of leaving him again, she wanted nothing more to say by his side forever but she could not resist her calling. Though it hurt far less significantly than the first time he had left her. It was an almost calming thought though. If she had to leave him this would no doubtably be the best place to leave him.
She wanted to say goodbye but in her mind that always signified something permanent and yet a 'see you later ’ seemed too weak hearted. Instead she have him her warmest smile and lent her head on the back rest of the bench and closed her eyes as she let her heart be carried back to her friends.
                                           .
                                           .
                                           .
Her metal sole scraped along the ground as she pulled herself to her feet.
She was right: They had fought harder things before.
