There is something so tasty about a darling who is ALSO a bad person. Like they're manipulative, they know how dangerous their Yan is and they use it to their advantage.
My favorite character to play with this in an x reader sense is probably shigaraki because like. He is so unstable, and so dangerous, but also he's loyal and I think especially after some of his character development he would be Soooo down to do anything for his darling. Well not leave them alone, but this darling doesn't WANT to be left alone.
Just knowing you have this dark figure over your shoulder, and just casually dropping names of people you want taken care of or things you're interested in and watching as your Yan gets that shit done for you.
Of course, you owe them now, but is it really that bad of a trade off to give them the affection they crave from you? Like depending on the setting, I'm sure a morally grey (dark grey even lmao) darling has done worse to keep themselves safe.

Heyyo! I'm usually just a lurker, but your Heatwave series has been absolutely incredible and I had to write in. I'm not usually an ABO fan, but you are rapidly changing my mind. Started with the Yuuta/Rika piece and loved your characterization of that sad eyed dude. Sweet and mostly passive while also being fully aware of reader-chan's BS.
Day 4 tho??? 🥵🔥🥵 I'm a more recent Gojo convert and oh my stars, "...you think for a moment he sounds like a dog toy. You think you want to make him your dog toy." Arrogant, but also whiney and pathetic Gojo really hits for me. The Pining? Phenomenal.
Just wanted to gas you up a bit and let you know what an excellent writer you are. Totally looking forward to the rest of the Heatwave series and whatever else your big brain cooks up in the future! 😊
wanted to gas you up a bit
awwhhhhHHh THANK YOUUUU 🥺 i super appreciate it!!!
honestly i started this blog recently and i've been trying not to compare the numbers but sometimes i get discouraged, you know? like, i AM doing it for the art (i knew day 3 was not gonna get a lot of love) but i'm posting it bc it makes me happy to see people enjoying it.
it's super encouraging to hear from you (and all the others who leave comments or reblog etc.) that my work is doing well.
i'm trying to be more critical of my own writing, fix things i don't like about it, and sometimes i need a reminder that it's still worthwhile and enjoyable to read even when i feel like it could have been better.
I've been writing like? All 10 of the Heatwave prompts concurrently, and while it means I have all of them drafted and partly written rn, it also means I switch between them a lot.
Inevitably I start to kinda. Lose the plot sometimes of a scene I'm trying to write skdfhglsdhg like the intro to the Yuta fic was SOOOO long actually and it was rambling about social phenomena with alphas, basically the omegaverse version of red pill dudes LMAOOO
and that was also supposed to lead in to like. the idea of what a REAL alpha is. the non-gendered values of leadership, protectiveness, and actually being sensitive to the thoughts and feelings of people around them (a crucial trait for someone in a leadership position).
and yuta fits those things SO WELL. he is CONSTANTLY worried about the people around them, how they feel and what they think. he admires the shit out of his classmates who like, tried to attack him when they first met fghskjdfgh. he wants to protect them but he never looks down on them.
later in the manga we see that yuta's consideration and empathy isn't just for his classmates. he cares a lot even for people who are very capable of protecting themselves - he cares about their feelings.
so i just knew like. yuta and tsundere reader. yuta who can see though your fussiness because he's always been perceptive.
yuta who thinks you're hot bc he has a constant boner for strong women but also has a deep yearning to see you be honest and vulnerable with him, and goes feral for it.
yuta who you can be vulnerable with because you know him and his gentle smile, his kind words, how he looks up to you even though he's a special grade and stronger than you'll ever be,, hhhh....
but yeah anyways. *grasps you and shakes you by the shoulder* GOJO. GOJO SATORU BEING HIS PATHETIC NEEDY SELF. GOJO BEING YOUR SQUEAKY TOY AND LOVING EVERY SECOND OF IT -
tmi but "fuck me until i sound like a dog toy" is actually something a previous partner said to me??? i've never been much of a top but hearing that just kinda had me... hsdfgjhdsg HHHHHH
i think a major part of gojo's appeal is how he can be arrogant and pretty AND sultry all at once. there's something utterly delicious about a slutty confident man who is also crying screaming throwing up for you to let him put it in you skdhflsdhg
next heatwave fic is sdkfgsdlhgshg uhhhHHhh different from the ones you have read, it's a yandere piece with gojo and geto.
After that it's another gojo piece i think you'll REALLY like >.> masochist!gojo is a favorite headcanon of mine and i was actually super hyped writing some of the smut there so far hehe.
glad you've enjoyed so far! more to come for sure ;)

I have an idea here...
Okay, so hear me out. It’s that kind of AU type thing that you see once in a blue moon where Snake is the nerd and Otacon is the one doing all the fighting, but I want to make a legit full on AU from it, not just character designs. I have a lot prepared as a base to build from already and I’ll be putting quite a bit here.
I don’t have a creative name for it, so I’ll just call it the Swap AU unless I think of a better name in the future. I’ll be addressing the Swap AU inhabitants with ‘Swap!’ before their names, and canon as just their names with no extras attached.
There’s a catch to this version of the Swap AU though. See, Swap!Otacon actually used to be behind the computer, and Swap!Snake used to do the fighting, just like normal. But, their own little situations led them to be swapped like they are now. Swap!Otacon snapped and was tired of hiding, and decided to fight alongside everyone else from then on, and managed to talk his way into being allowed to receive training somehow. He’s got some slyness to him in this AU, so he has many a method to be more likely to get what he wants later on if he doesn’t actually get what he aims for right away. Snake snapped as well, but his had caused so much destruction that he was removed from the battlefield despite the mission being a success, but was put behind the computer screen because his skills were too vital and important to just drop by discharging him.
Swap!Otacon’s personality changes more than Swap!Snake’s does. Swap!Otacon is a bit snarky at times, but his heart is still in the right place. He likes to test people’s boundaries and poke fun at them a bit to see how they fight back. He’ll still cry quite a bit on occasion, especially if Swap!Snake gives him a good enough beating for acting a fool. A common punishment he receives is being beaten a little bit, then forced to either carry very heavy things in each of his hands (NEVER both supporting one thing) and being forced to stand in either a corner or outside the room he was in, or Swap!Snake will make him get on his hands and knees and be used as a chair for however long Swap!Snake likes or until he gives out and collapses. If he does before Swap!Snake decides to get off of him, he’ll be forced to stay a piece of makeshift furniture like this for an additional hour, and Swap!Snake will even force himself to stay sitting down to enforce it (even if he really wants to get up, he doesn’t). As for Swap!Snake, his doesn’t change enough to be considered majorly different like Swap!Otacon, but the ways he does are enough to definitely be noteworthy. He’s a little more open with his feelings, though only slightly and this must be stressed. He’ll also tear up too sometimes, but he won’t outright sob like Otacon does most of the time unless something upsets him enough. Even when that happens, he still cries quietly and covers his face. He’s pretty quiet and standoffish still, but can still manage to be kind at the same time. Cold and quiet outside, but kindhearted and gentle inside. Depending on the situation, he can actually be shy, and blushes when praised by those he thinks positively of since he isn’t too used to positive interaction and praise yet. Swap!Snake can definitely still fight despite his changes from being put in front of a screen most of his time now, and even Swap!Otacon can’t keep up with him for too long despite being deemed the only one able to be on Swap!Snake’s level in combat.
Swap!Otacon is still as much of an otaku as actual Otacon is, and Swap!Snake eventually is talked into looking into some stuff with Swap!Otacon and developing an enjoyment of anime and manga of his own, since he has a lot of free time due to working quickly, and just browses the Web on his own personal laptop quite a bit. He was already a closet VOCALOID and UTAUloid fan and user since the music is much more unique to him than other types, and that kind of helped him quicker warm up to anime and manga. Swap!Snake also has a secret past time of drawing aside from making UTAU covers under the alias YaneHebi (a combination of the words “yandere”, the archetype of unhealthy love, and “hebi”, meaning “snake”). Swap!Otacon eventually finds out after Swap!Snake reveals it through an UTAU cover of the song 404: Virtual Image which depicted his own UTAUloid of the same name as his artist alias and himself later on in the song. Yane Hebi, Swap!Snake’s UTAU, is somewhat of a self insert for him aside from the UTAU being depicted as a much more cheery character, and living up to his yandere archetype with no problems. He puts his own inner thoughts and deep, dark desires into this character. Swap!Otacon will sometimes talk him into joining in to watch some anime together or showing each other songs, but Swap!Snake prefers to keep to himself involving these hobbies for the most part. Swap!Snake has a LOT more going on deep down than Swap!Otacon does, and he can get extremely deep and philosophical in talks while simultaneously venting out pains without even noticing until it’s pointed out to him. He has complicated views on love, and knows what he wants, but doesn’t want to risk ruining anything just going for it and revealing his feelings to who he loves. I headcanon Snake as bisexual usually, but this Swap!Snake is gay, just had girlfriends in the past to try and substitute for what he thought he could never have. He’s also a virgin unlike actual Snake, because he wants to save himself for the one he truly loves the most and wants it to be special and genuine.
These two have a very deep and special friendship just like the actual Snake and Otacon do. Swap!Otacon might decide to shield and protect Swap!Snake all the time, but both know full well that both can hold their own in a fight. Swap!Snake isn’t so cruel to Swap!Otacon as often as it might seem if you just consider his punishments, and actually thinks extremely high of Swap!Otacon, even seeming close to idolizing him sometimes. If Swap!Otacon is gone somewhere for a day or more, Swap!Snake will sometimes sit in his chairs at desks or something and smile as he just thinks about their friendship. He does subtle little gestures of kindness for Swap!Otacon, like making him little gifts, or drawing something for him, and Swap!Otacon always notices and thanks him graciously the soonest chance he can get. Swap!Otacon finds the blush Swap!Snake gets and the gentle smile on his face beyond adorable. Swap!Snake actually is head over heels for Swap!Otacon, but Swap!Otacon never really notices this, or the sometimes questionable things he does to try and express it without outright telling Swap!Otacon how he feels. Ominous positivity at any random time with no context is a common gesture of affection from Swap!Snakes part too, which sometimes can really make Swap!Otacon concerned because of how stalker-ish Swap!Snake seems sometimes with what is said. Things like ‘remember to keep your head up and stay strong through the bad times, I’ll always be watching you so do your best’ usually elicit a concerned reaction.
I want to draw things for this AU and build even further on it, but I’ll stop on the text based building for now since this is LONG already...

When They Cry/Higurashi the ideal Horror Anime
When They Cry/Higurashi the ideal Horror Anime
Strictly speaking I'm not a Horror fan.  I've never been truly scared by any fiction I've consumed, nor have I ever sought that reaction.  So the presumed main appeal of Horror stories does not apply to me. But I have enjoyed many stories in the Horror genre for other reasons.   I'm interested in the Sci-Fi/Fantasy elements they sometimes use, which overlaps with my interest in mythology and folklore, both real and fictional.  I enjoy mysteries and thrillers and Hitchcock style suspense.  And I can enjoy psychological horror because I like character pieces, I like exploring and developing interesting characters, and something like telling a story from the POV of someone slowly going insane from Paranoia can be an interesting way to do that. But my lack of interest in most modern Horror tends to come from a deteriorating appreciation for the idea that "less is more".  I get tired of endless Jump Scares and gratuitous blood and gore. I'm also someone who has spent the last few years increasingly turning almost exclusively to Anime for my entertainment media.  I haven't much Horror anime yet, a few that have horror elements but are still not chiefly about being horror, like Future Diary.  And yes even the Zombie anime I talked about last year was not really a horror story. But this last week I decided to check out Higurashi no Naku Korro ni (sometimes just shortened to Higurashi) rendered in English as both When They Cry and The Moment the Cicades Cry. This Anime has much of why I'm interested in Horror stories, and none of what commonly bugs me about them.  And It's also had positive reviews from people who are Horror fans much more so then I am. The show has some of the most notoriously gory scenes in all of Anime.   But it uses those moments sparingly, building up to them and earning them.  And it has exactly 1 scene that could qualify as a Jump scare, and even that is perfectly executed. I'm not the only one who was reminded of The Wicker Man at certain moments (the original, I haven't seen the remake).  And I suspect it has some Twin Peaks influence too.  It is very much the Japanese version of a Gothic Novel.  But it's also very creative and original, and non-linear.  It's a period piece set in June 1983 but not constantly trowing the 80s in your face the way western TV shows set in the 80s do. And that is my Spoiler Free recommendation. Spoiler Warning. I'm someone who often doesn't mind being spoiled, I'll intentionally read a book's afterward before the actual story.  But if there is anything I've watched where I'm glad I wasn't spoiled going in it is this Anime.  Because I was born in 1985 people don't believe me when I say I was surprised by Vader begin Luke's father when I first watched Empire Strikes Back.  But my family didn't have access to the Internet till like 2000, and my parents were not into Star Wars, and I didn't have friends back then.  But I can say being surprised by that scene did not effect my overall enjoyment of that film nearly as much as not knowing what's going on in Higurashi matters. So I'm going to give a second spoiler warning, if you think you don't mind being spoiled, think really hard about that before reading on. Spoiler Alert. If you find the main character bland, don't worry, he's not the real main character.  He's the POV only for the first 13 episodes. The story is based on a visual novel, as such it begins by depicting three alternate scenarios for how these events could play out, before sometimes going into the past to start explaining some of the context.   The first arc/four episodes are a perfect example of what I said above about Psychological horror. The first two arcs/eight episodes have the combined effect of giving a very skewed perception of certain characters that will later be corrected. The arc told from Shion's POV is probably the highlight of Season 1, but you can't fully appreciate it without seeing what we were shown before.  It's basically an alternate POV for the second arc.  The first few episodes however are a prequel that should apply to the continuity of all the arcs, and is arguably particularity relevant to the third arc. That Shion gets labeled a Yandere is misleading.  Her madness is partly driven by her love for Satoshi.  But she's not eliminating romantic rivals, or acting out of possessiveness or a perceived rejection.  When she starts her killing spree you are kind of rooting for her because it starts off as a simple Revenge fantasy, like something Paul Feval or Alexandre Dumas could have written.  But she crosses the line when she kills Satoko, and remembers exactly when it's too late what she'd promised Satoshi.  And then in the end she learned she was wrong (but refuses to accept it).  It is a true tragedy. The last arc was the perfect way to end Season 1, as it puts certain key puzzle pieces into place. The second season is Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai. Another thing different about Anime is how it can span genres.  Kai is not really a Horror story anymore, now that we know the gist of what is going on.   For that reason some fans of the first seasons might be disappointed, but I liked it because it was a great thriller. And if you want the answers to what Season 1 left unanswered it won't disappoint.  It's not like some mystery shows where the "Season of Answers" was mostly.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=59GwT_Qlj0Y Till the season finale. It answer lots of questions.  There was a scene that as it began I figured was gonna be a casual exposition scene laying out what I already knew, but it wasn't, it provided answers I hadn't deduced yet, maybe I should have but I hadn't. In the end a few things are arguably not directly answered but should be simple enough to figure out with everything we now know. There are more installments of the franchise that I haven't watched yet.  But the first season alone was enough to recommend it, and the second more then worthy of mentioning.
