oh, what a poetic rebellion it is, to be both enthralled and fearful, of the things that I haven't yet spoken to my soul💫 Have you ever felt this? Have you ever been afraid of what might happen at a later time? Have you ever found yourself drifting away from your 'present-reality'? If yes, then this is for you. I feel like quitting. Hiding away in a blanket, in a place my phone won’t ring. Giving into the weight of depression. Not forcing a smile. Not pretending things are grand. Just dwelling in the comfort of a bed, letting the numbness take effect. Somehow every destination has this beautiful path along the way. Trees standing tall with years beneath them. Water glistening in a way that reflects diamonds of light in front of me. The breeze flowing into my car window reminds me to breathe. And for a moment, I take everything in. I long to touch the leaves of the trees. To place my feet in the water. To be hugged by the wind. And to embrace the stillness of my mind. I know you think of me. And you always will. When you see the color of the car I drove with the top down holding your hand. When an ocean wave hits your toes. When you smell salt water in the air. When every sad song plays. Oh and the happy ones too. You’ll picture me smilin and dancing while you rolled the js. You’ll think of the tears in my eyes every time you could have done better. You’ll remember watching me walk away and how you finally shed tears too. One whiff of coconut and your knees will buckle. One glance at a pool table and you’ll smile. And you know what? I imagine sipping cocktails with friends full of smiles. Dancing in a room full of people. Hugging my family tighter. Traveling. Paying it forward in stores. Making videos to share with the world. Pushing that last rep out of my body at the gym. Making new friends at coffee shops. Cooking all of my meals. Writing notes to the people I care about. A remarkably clean house. Except I lack the energy. My heart is beating but that’s the extent of my living. It was just us. In our own little bubble. Laughing about goldfish and grilled cheese being my consistent go to meal. We could barely afford driving to the local park but we made sure to go whenever we could. We craved the life of the ocean. Something about our warm sun kissed skin together at the end of the day made us fall deeper. So much passion between two people yet not enough fighting. At least not fighting for each other.
