Lisa discusses her interactions with anti-GamerGate and her favorite game, Alice: Madness Returns! An excerpt:
"I think a lot of them were just so stubborn and, and I hate this phrase, but set in their ways that they didn't want to stop and consider, hey, maybe I could be wrong about this. The ones that weren't willing to talk kind of dug their heels in. I found myself getting blocked by quite a few people that I've never interacted with. There have been a few times where I'll read a gaming article, I'm curious about the person who wrote it, so I go to their Twitter. Oh hey, I'm blocked even though I've never heard of this person until today. Oh, I’m blocked. Okay. It was irritating at first, I just started finding it funny after a while." -Lisa

Lisa supported Operation Disrespectful Nod during GamerGate, but looking back she questions if it was the best approach and is concerned about the family members of the games journalists who may have lost income due to the boycott. She now wonders if there was an alternative?

Lisa suspects that Jeopardy player Arthur Chu, who proclaimed it's "ending tonight" and harassed the owner of a pub where GGinDC was being held just prior to the bomb threat getting called in according to Christina Hoff Sommers, may have been behind the bomb threat.

Lisa says she wants honesty in games journalism and shares her thoughts on the field. An excerpt...
"Because something about humanity in general, and this has been a thing long before the internet, people don't like admitting when they're wrong. And when you're online, especially when you're on a site like Kotaku, you have a lot of people, a lot of eyes on you, so you're afraid of what could happen if you admit that you were wrong about something. So instead of doing that and potentially looking bad in the eyes of your viewership, you double down. Because in that moment, all you can think is, 'all of these people are watching me. They could be judging me. I can't admit that I fucked up.'" - Lisa M

Lisa explains why she left GamerGate and shares her thoughts on the Hatman and Brianna Wu conversation.
"Kind of going back to them, that was actually part of the reason that I left GamerGate. Because a lot of the GGRevolt types, the political grifters, started coming in and I started to feel a change. I didn't like the change. I felt like, "Well, these guys are going to run it into the ground." And they helped run it into the ground. I wasn't entirely wrong there." -Lisa

In this segment of my book interview with Lisa, she recalls a wild GamerGate debate she had with Helicopter Guy and we discuss Destiny's inspiration for Tachyon becoming a political streamer and ultimately launching this investigation into GamerGate.
An excerpt:
"We thought we were all convinced the entire debate that he was a troll, and then we start playing video games with him after the stream, and he's still going. Nurgle was like, "Dude, the stream's over, you can... You can cut the act." And I'm just like, "I don't think it's an act. I think he's really like…” -Lisa

Lisa was bullied for playing video games growing up, but believes society has become more accepting. We discussed her experience as a female gamer and the Gamers Are Dead aticles. When asked if it was difficult dealing with misogyny from anti-GamerGate she says:
"At first, I kind of learned to deal with it over time, but at first it was like, "Wow, what the...?" You're throwing all these insults at me and I'm just here, I exist, and apparently that pisses you off. I didn't understand, and honestly, I still don't, but I gave up trying. Just having some of the friends that I made in GamerGate really helped. Yeah, because I knew they had my back. Like, one of you guys insulted my appearance, I remember there was a stream going on and Nurgle was in it, and he heard about it. While on stream, he starts just tweeting insults at the guy. I'm like, "That was really sweet, thank you." You know, knowing that I had fellow gamers on my side kind of helped make it a little easier." -Artist Lisa M

Lisa says a supporter of ComicsGate was misogynistic towards her on Lord Nurgle's stream, though she doesn't blame all CG people. Lisa also says that the bad aspects of GGRevolt outweighed the good in her view.
