I just realized something about bright colors in art.

When I was first learning to draw, neon-bright colors were associated with sparkledogs and cringe. Which was the original reason I avoided them. Now, I try to steer clear of them in my art because they scald my eyes. Not because of cringe. They just physically hurt to look at sometimes.

I like natural color schemes that help characters blend into their environment, like with my Zunru (Pokemon-esque) character Bunnub.

I like pastels. Especially different colors of pastels. The light purple and green work really well for Booabug.

I like fiery colors- not the brightest in the box, but generally warm. Redent is an example.

But I realized my beef with bright colors is purely a physical thing now. Maybe I'm just older and my eyes are decaying. But I've seen people do some really cool shit with bright colors on here and other sites. I guess everyone has their color scheme. I like softer colors, but I'm sure someone else finds them boring. I have to force myself to use cool colors, but they may be someone else's forte.

Sometimes, I'm even okay with brighter colors. Like with these characters based on "tell me the name of God, you fungal piece of shit", literally named Fungit and Exdecay (their colors are way brighter in Krita).

Maybe one day I'll give Mary Sues some slack too? ...Nah. But at least I've accepted they are important elements of learning to write. That's one step closer to being free of cringe I guess.

solarballs really could make some redesign of their assets to be honest, i personally think some of them are a bit too bland compared to the other amazing photographs/artistic redentions that we have of their real-life counterparts.

IMP incorporated. Atleast it was at one point. What used to be a building where cilents could come in and ask to order those up top to die it served a different purpose now...it could be classified as the defacto mayoral building of imp city now...a few pictures lined the hall to blitz'es office. Accomplishments a photo of the opening of the new imp city academy teaching the new youths of knowledge and hell even magic. A picture of the main plaza a once boring and decayed looking place now serves as almost a hub for artistic talent a picture showing people working on various artistic crafts, painting, sculptures, hell even some performances.

Hell even walking through imp city now there is a certain life to it, it has a long way to go of course but there was progress that charged through the air.

The office of blitz was more of a strange atsmophere. There was his magnun opus a drawing of a dark almost eldritch looking bird shaped thing being given sacrifices by people that oddly didnt look like people. Fruits, wealth, even themselves..it spoke highly to the kind of system that ruled hell. of course there was much happier paintings in the room, a redention of the sky that took place when he felled his greatest of foes such painting looked like the sky was adorned with beautiful orbs like dots from a paintbrush. An almost more colorful version of starry sky.

Another painting made to emcompass imp city in celebration one of their own rising to the status of overlord...things like that, the most inspiring and but also i suppose in a way terrifying piece in blitz's office was the half chipped bird skull on a mantle on the front of his desk. The only souviner he acquired from felling a goettia prince stolas...even now it radiated with a sort of power just by looking at it.

Blitz himself was sleeping on what appeared to be a made he was drawing up. In the corner it looked like it said "cultural fe-" before getting cut off from an arm that was currently holding up blitz'es head from coming into full contact with the desk.

One may even think in the presence of all this one would put away their toys to suddenly startle the man awake but fizz was no such man. Truly a madlad of the highest proportions as the sound of loud airhorns jolts blitz awake.

"AH FUCK!"

blitz is currently sleeping, he fell asleep at his desk, someone should defiantly not wake him.

Some writing underneath

sun spotted y/n sitting on the office chair,looking bored as she scrolles threw the internet.

He knows shes totally fine with him in her space. As shes more then willing to get in his if allowed. (Which is always allowed)

So with her not busy he takes advantage of the situation and marches himself over much to y/ns confusion when she spots his prideful strut

" ????" Is all she can muster from her brain before the robot stops before her.

she looks up at him as he bends over to pick her up,which he does with ease as she plants his tush on the chair and places y/n in his lap. She should be used to his needy antics,but it was still cute to her to see him so confident over it.

As he sits down the chair creaks something horrible,the added weight with y/n makes the strain worse. Before y/n can voice her concerns hes already wrapped his arms around her practically trapping her as he cuddles his face against her head.

" hey sun i dont th--" she starts but its already too late as the chair lets out a horrible snap and it falls apart under then sending them both falling to the floor. Even threw the fall sun never realased his grip,

but this time was to protect her from the fall even tho banging her head on the bots chest on the way down did leave her seeing stars.

His own head banging on the ground rattled his system for abit. They both needed time to recover while moon remarked on funny that was in sun's head.

All sun could do was mutter back.

Task 1: Software Essay and Case Study Essay

First: Software Essay 

Adobe Premiere Pro

Mainly the use for Premiere Pro is to edit adverts, television, films, YouTube videos etc. Premiere Pro is usually also used along with Photoshop and After Effects when creating media projects. Basically the main role of Premiere Pro is to import your raw video, edit it, you can add some minor effects, edit audio, create and export your new and improved edit of your raw video.

A major part of the world uses Premiere Pro like for example; news stations, film/tv production houses, marketing professionals, video editors and marketing managers etc.

Adobe After Effects

After Effects is also from Adobe, it can be split up into three groups; animating, effects and compositing (Smith, 2020).    

This particular kind of animation is mainly used in After Effects and is mostly known as Motion Graphics. In motion graphics we can create motion and movement of text, logos and further graphic elements like creating 2D characters and such. Visual effects which are used in After Effects help create effects for films like (rain, snow, fire or making stuff disappear). Lastly digital compositing is for gathering many videos into one project. After Effects allows us to combine together numerous of videos with the use of compositing.

After Effects is mostly used by animators, visual artists, video editors, motion graphics designers, special effects editors, etc. (Smith, 2020)

Adobe Photoshop

Photoshop is described as the professional-level version of the Photoshop family and products (Smith, 2020). Photoshop is an up to date imaging software which is used by designers, web professionals, video editors, and photographers to better or manipulate pictures. Photoshop is mostly used to edit pictures that are 2D, but in case of a 3D image it does have some minor functions which can be used. 

Some features of Photoshop:

To crop pictures.

To alter the colours of the picture.

Fixing defects such as; dust or red eyes.

Drawing on the picture with pen or pencil.

Adding text to the photo.

Erasing people or unwanted objects from a photo.

Sorting images to access fast.

Posting pictures online or sending via email. 

Adobe Illustrator

Illustrator is used for creating a lot of digital and printed photos as well as creating animated characters, charts, diagram, graphs, logos and illustrations (Smith, 2020). Illustrator lets users to import pictures and use it as a reference to trace an item in the photo. This can be used to create a sketch of an original image or re-colour it. Illustrator makes it helpful to alter text in a different ways, also to create postcards, posters and other creative designs which involves text and pictures together and Illustrator has the power to place text around a curve and it is very helpful when creating logos.

Case Study Essay

Case Study 1: Music Video

For this music video, these are the software’s used; Premiere Pro, DaVinchi Resolve and After Effects. What has been done on DaVinchi? The whole footage was edited through DaVinchi using dynamic zooms, cropping etc.

After Effects was used to create the background for the green screen, and the same footage of that to add another green screen on the television. Premiere Pro was used to create the aspect ratio with an adjustment layer using the effect “crop”, which leads to cropping left and right. Also the colour correction was done in Premiere with basic correction and adding the tint effect.

Case Study 2: Handless

This animation consists of these three software’s; Animate, Premiere Pro and After Effects. Animate was used to create the drawings and movement used in the animation, as you can see in this animation it has been done brilliantly and also with a Graphics Tablet to help draw the animation. In the final process on Animate he stitched up all the animation together. It was frame by frame and a hand drawn animation. Premiere Pro was used to implement the sound, add all the footage together and some minor touch ups. Lastly on After Effects, it was mostly used for some minor touch ups of the animation.

Case Study 3: Be Around Me by Will Joseph Cook (directed by Bad Hotel)

For this music video by Will Joseph Cook, I think Premiere Pro or DaVinchi Resolve was used to edit the footage, colour correcting and grading, also to create his vintage film look with adding an aspect ratio of 3:2.

I think After Effects was used to create some transitions, animation, the font used and also the movement of the font. I also think for sound they used some DAW (digital audio workstation) like Pro Tools/Bitwig/Studio One 4.5 etc. with these DAW you can create your music with sound effects, bass, any background music one thinks is relevant etc. Also for the subtitles, they might have been added with either Premiere Pro or After Effects.

Case Study 4: Positions by Ariana Grande

Positions by Ariana Grande is a music video directed by Dave Meyers, for editing the footage together, colour grading and correction etc. either Premiere Pro or DaVinchi Resolve was used. As a DAW Ariana Grande uses Pro Tools for her music to create sounds, instruments, reverb, EQ etc. As for special effects After Effects may have probably been used in a behind the scenes footage there is a scene where there is a green screen which is blue, there is also fonts with movement and other transition scenes done by After Effects like the scene with the “president fireworks” and also green screen was added for that scene.
