Patti Smith (1946-) solo Songs: "Gloria," "Because the Night" Defeated Opponents: Lee Morse, Tammi Terrell Propaganda: "Bisexual legend, hung around with Blue Öyster Cult and then the New York new wavers. The punk poetess, rough around the edges but with a heartbreaking voice. She never cared what anyone thought of her and she's iconic for that, and she really deserves more recognition for her work imo" "Obsessed with the way she blended poetry and rock n' roll. Multi-talented icon. Also the photos of her and Robert Mapplethorpe? HOT." "Beautiful voice, and an androgynous look I would kill for"
Dolly Parton (1946-) solo Songs: "Jolene," "I Will Always Love You" Defeated Opponents: Alice Coltrane, Ruth Brown Propaganda: "One of the best country (and any) musicians to grace us with her talents for decades! A bimbo with a brain and we love her! Beyoncé and Whitney Houston covered her songs. This woman supports women! And literacy! But also her voice is one of a kind and she knows how to command any stage she's on." "She's one of the world's best-selling musicians and she's an actress! Shes's also an advocate for LGBT rights, gives money to HIV/AIDS research, and many more causes. She donates one book per month to every kid born in Tennessee up until they're 5 years old. She put a lot of money into COVID research. Her large chest is so well-known that it's been written about in songs, military tanks have been named after her, and Dolly the cloned sheep shares her name. Also, she apparently wrote Jolene and Whitney Houston's I Will Always Love You in the same day!" "She's adorable. She's funny. She smart and business savvy enough that she would probably be a billionaire if she wasn't also a genuinely wonderful human being who gives tons and tons of money away to various charities and causes. She's so supportive of younger artists and artists of color and the queer community. She's always so gracious and genuinely excited when new artists cover her songs. She's the best thing to ever come from the state of Tennessee and I love her entirely. We do not deserve her but I'm glad we have her."

Hello!!
Do you have a favorite song? Or if you can’t pick a favorite, a song that you’re loving recently?
And what song would you choose to represent Tarlos or brings them to mind when you hear it?
For me, I recently added For Cryin’ Out Loud by Finneas to my playlist <3
Mine for Tarlos would be You’re All I Need To Get By by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell, the lyrics feel like their wedding vows 🥰🥰
Hello!! Thank you for this question and for letting me know your song choices, which I will be checking out! 🥰 I have too many favourite songs to pick just one, but my favourite artist is George Michael, and this is my all-time favourite moment in a music video because it looks like he's about to toll a big bell:
Tumblr media
And this is my second all-time favourite moment in a music video because he looks so sassy and he has my mum's hair:
Tumblr media
For Tarlos, the songs that come to mind instantly are:
So into You by Tamia - It's such an elegent love song and really captures their essence, I think. And so catchy, gosh.
Lunar Light by Gavin Tempest - a beautiful, emotional piano piece that makes me stare wisftfully out of the window and imagine their whole lives in two minutes.
Teardrop by Massive attack (gave one of my fics the title Teardrop on the Fire because of this! - I remember listening to this song a lot when I first found Tarlos)
And this particular cover of I Can't Make You Love Me by Jessie J, which I happened to listen to when I was first watchng Tarlos clips and thinking about them pining for each other. It's such a great song of pining and there's just something about this version that's so melancholy and achy but powerful too.

Ain't No Mountain High Enough
Written By: Valerie Simpson & Nickolas Ashford
Artist: Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell
Released: 1967
“Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” marked the first collaboration between soul artists Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell in terms of releases. It was the first single from their debut album United where it also appeared as the opening track on the record. Although they kept their relationship as professional as could be, the two were practically inseparable with most describing them as “brother and sister.” At Terrell’s funeral after her tragic death at the mere age of 24, her mother barred everyone at Motown from attending except Gaye (who also delivered the eulogy) as she felt he was her only friend there. Perhaps there really was no mountain, valley or river that could ever come between them. The song was listed by writers of the UK publication NME as one of the Top 150 Singles of All Time, and the song was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1999. The song would go on to be covered by dozens of artists, including Diana Ross, The Supremes and The Temptations, as well as the songwriters Ashford & Simpson among others.
[Verse 1] Listen, baby Ain't no mountain high Ain't no valley low Ain't no river wide enough, baby If you need me, call me No matter where you are No matter how far Don't worry, baby Just call my name I'll be there in a hurry You don't have to worry 'Cause, baby, there [Chorus] Ain't no mountain high enough Ain't no valley low enough Ain't no river wide enough To keep me from getting to you, babe [Verse 2] Remember the day I set you free I told you you could always count on me, darling From that day on, I made a vow I'll be there when you want me, someway, somehow Oh, baby, there [Chorus] Ain't no mountain high enough Ain't no valley low enough Ain't no river wide enough To keep me from getting to you, babe [Bridge] Oh no, darling No wind, no rain Or winter's cold Can stop me, baby (No, no, baby) 'Cause you are my goal If you're ever in trouble I'll be there on the double Just send for me, oh, baby, ha [Verse 3] My love is alive (Woo) Way down in my heart Although we are miles apart If you ever need a helping hand I'll be there on the double Just as fast as I can Don't you know that there [Chorus] Ain't no mountain high enough Ain't no valley low enough Ain't no river wide enough To keep me from getting to you, baby Don't you know that there Ain't no mountain high enough Ain't no valley low enough Ain't no river wide enough Ain't no mountain high enough Ain't no valley low enough

Accidentally in Love
Written By: Adam Duritz, Dan Vickrey, David Bryson, David Immergluck & Matthew Malley
Artist: Counting Crows
Released: 2004
“I was really struggling with it. I generally don’t write songs on demand, and I almost got to the point where I thought I wasn’t going to do it. They just told me that the song had to be uplifting. They actually said, ‘Don’t write a song about Shrek. Write a song that’s about you.’ The funny thing is, the song ended up reflecting a lot of what was going on in my life at the time: falling in love with someone you’re not supposed to fall in love with because it’s inconvenient. My songs for Counting Crows are mature and generally don’t get a chance to reach kids. To be part of something like that is pretty cool.” – Adam Duritz via Billboard
[Verse 1] So, she said, "What's the problem, baby?" What's the problem? I don't know Well, maybe I'm in love (Love) Think about it Every time I think about it Can't stop thinking 'bout it How much longer will it take to cure this? Just to cure it, 'cause I can't ignore it if it's love (Love) Makes me wanna turn around and face me But I don't know nothin' 'bout love, uh [Chorus] Come on, come on Turn a little faster Come on, come on The world will follow after Come on, come on Because everybody's after love [Verse 2] So I said, I'm a snowball runnin' Runnin' down into the spring that's comin' All this love meltin' under blue skies Belting out sunlight, shimmering love Well, baby, I surrender To this strawberry ice cream Never-ever-ender All this love Well, I didn't mean to do it But there's no escaping your love, oh [Bridge] These lines of lightnin' mean we're never alone Never alone No, no [Chorus] Come on, come on Move a little closer Come on, come on I wanna hear you whisper Come on, come on Settle down inside my love, ohh Come on, come on Jump a little higher Come on, come on If you feel a little lighter Come on, come on We were once upon a time in love [Post-Chorus] We're accidentally in love, accidentally in love Accidentally in love, accidentally in love Accidentally in love, accidentally in love Accidentally in love, accidentally in love Accidentally, I'm in love, I'm in love [Refrain] I'm in love, I'm in love I'm in love, I'm in love Accidentally, I'm in love, I'm in love I'm in love, I'm in love I'm in love, I'm in love Accidentally [Chorus] Come on, come on (Come on) Spin a little tighter Come on, come on (Come on) And the world's a little brighter Come on, come on (Come on) Just get yourself inside her love I'm in love

Marvin Pentz Gay Jr.; April 2, 1939 – April 1, 1984) was a singer-songwriter and record producer. He was one of the artists during the 60s that helped shape the sound of Motown. He started his career in a vocal quartet called The Marquees; he then was a session singer for Chuck Berry and others. He began writing songwriting after The Marquees broke up, relocated to Detroit, and became an in-house session player for Motown Records. He was one of the first artists to embark as a solo artist. His solo career was filled with numerous hits, including “Let’s Get It On, What’s Going On, and Ain’t No “Mountain High Enough,” which he sang with Tammi Terrell that Nick Ashford wrote (of Ashford and Simpson), the song is seen as a love song but, its a song of overcoming adversity or any way you want to interpret it. After putting out numerous hit singles, Gaye earned the titles “ Prince of Soul and “ Prince of Motown.” Gaye’s later work has influenced most contemporary R&B subgenres and overlooked genres such as quiet storm and neo-soul. In the late 70s, he released what is considered Gaye’s music, spoke of love, reflected on what was going on in society, and made fantastic love songs. He has been inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and received numerous posthumous awards, including the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. Gaye is one of the most influential artists in popular music. Gaye and his music will continue to be played, influenced, and appreciated by many artists and fans today.

Borja Flames - Nuevo Medievo
He has three brains, a thousand lives, past or parallel, and his name is Borja Flames. Spanish, Parisian, Burgundian, cosmonaut, we don’t know anymore. His head is that of a pope, a king, a lion, a faun or a melancholic centaur. He is well dressed, with pot holes and beard : Merovingian. We knew him in June and Jim of which he was the southern face (the northern hemisphere being Marion Cousin), a duo recently transfigured under the name of Catalina Matorral, real electronic pastoral. We saw him reshuffle his cards for the first time in 2016 with Nacer Blanco, the first album under his name, whose tipsy clocks, totems like the Tower of Pisa and bony madrigals evoked Moondog, Robert Wyatt and the Postman Cheval, one inside the other, helter-skelter. After which Rojo Vivo (2018) a blend of pale house and tenebrous preachings made us fear and pleasure and dance. Nuevo Medievo which appears today (Les disques du Festival Permanent / Murailles Music) is even more beautiful, more striking. From the very beginning, sung on tiptoe, the silvery voice with robotic effects on a synthetic bedside rug spiked with cymbals makes us feel bareheaded in a vast cabinet of stars, we are captivated. There are laser beams, oracle lyrics with vocoder. Paul Loiseau, the Morse drummer, makes the kitchen set sound like an orchestra of stoned calculators, then Borja Flames accelerates the record’s pulse with the diction of a fed-up TV news anchor before a jungle background until Marion Cousin and Rachel Langlais make everything capsize, she of saturnian vocalization, she of a strangely regulated synth. Then on, the hits fall here, there, everywhere, real ones, a shower of asteroids. Negro Negro is suave, mysterious, moving, as surprising as a kiss we no longer expect. We would gladly listen to her only but then comes Magnetismo making us giddy with joy. Then Marioneta, dry and airy as a Sign O’The Times period Prince, which one could dance to endlessly, even alone, head tucked under arm. Nuevo Medievo moves this way throughout, stiff and groovy, cerebral but exploding with dreamy tumors. Powerfully entertaining, filled with odd rhythms, computer choirs, keyboards that slide and are slippery. Nuevo Medievo is a bit reminiscent of the synth-wave scene and 80s Iberian post-punk. It also evokes lo-fi versions of Franco Battiato‘s panoramic SF hits from the album No Time No Space (far away worlds, sound research, fat refrains), Arthur Russel disco, or even Porque te vas, yes yes, Sade, Motown B-sides played at the IRCAM one evening of blunt slackness, Marvin Gaye and Tammy Terrel in a full-on slow dance under the anachronistic neon lights of a chicha bar or Blade Runner rushes with the Miami Vice original soundtrack. If Nuevo Medievo, like all of music loving cannibal Borja Flames’ records, summons a certain number of other artists, it does so to organize unexpected meetings between them, and to dissect each one in a scientific, erotic, amorous and gastronomic impulse before freeing himself from them and drawing in all the diagonals of authentically unheard features. Throw him a party. Txt : Sing Sing Translation : Cathérine Hershey Music & Lyrics by Borja Flames. Produced and arranged by Borja Flames with the collaboration of Marion Cousin, Paul Loiseau and Rachel Langlais. Recorded in Lucy-sur-Cure, Cinq-Mars La Pile and Saint-Aubin du Cormier. Mix by Manuel Duval at Grange Cavale. Mastering by Harris Newman at Grey Market. Personnel : Rachel Langlais (synths, vocals), Marion Cousin (synths, vocals, percussions), Paul Loiseau (percussions, vocals, synths), Borja Flames (vocals, guitar, synths, percussions, programming, samples).

Today's compilation:
Billboard Top R&B Hits - 1968 1989 Soul / Funk
One neat quirk about Billboard's R&B chart in 1968 is that it opened and closed the year with two different versions of the same song: "I Heard It Through the Grapevine" was first released in '67 by Gladys Knight & The Pips, and was then followed up in '68 by Marvin Gaye too, but funnily enough, Gaye's version was not a cover of Knight's & The Pips'—Gaye had actually recorded his version first, but Berry Gordy shelved it, and the song didn't go public until Knight & The Pips' version became a massive hit itself. And while Knight & The Pips' rendition actually became the bestselling single in the history of Motown, Gaye's version ended up surpassing it and held that same crown afterwards too. Inexplicably, his version is left off of this ten-song set, and Knight & The Pips' take is on the 1967 release in this series instead, but we still get Gaye's terrific duet with Tammi Terrell on here in "You're All I Need to Get By," which ended up getting hip hop-covered more than two decades later by Method Man & Mary J. Blige for another pretty timeless hit too 👍.
And 1968 was also a year that saw a new type of soul sound—Philadelphia soul—making some serious strides as well. Helmed by the hit-making duo of Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff, the Philly soul approach was one that incorporated beautifully lush and swirly string arrangements into its works, which would end up inspiring the start of disco too, and you can hear in a couple distinct songs on this comp, with The Delfonics' opener in "La-La-Means I Love You" and Jerry Butler's "Hey Western Union Man."
Another pretty big thing that had taken place in '68 was the sonic transformation of The Temptations, who would begin to pioneer another new type of soul—psychedelic soul—with a song like "Cloud Nine." Previously, they'd been known for a more traditional kind of soul, with a chain of hits that'd included such classics as "The Way You Do the Things You Do" and "My Girl," but now, with the departure of the legendary songwriting-and-production trio of Holland-Dozier-Holland from Motown, the label's newly-de facto A-team of Barrett Strong and Norman Whitfield had been enlisted to riskily take the group in a more progressive and adventurous direction. And it worked.
A couple more brief things: it's a shame that Aretha Franklin's not on here. Evidently, Atlantic Records was willing to give Rhino Records a license for "I Never Loved a Man (The Way I Love You)" for the '67 edition in this series, but nothing else beyond that for both that year and this year. And Aretha had three R&B #1s in '68, with "Chain of Fools," "(Sweet Sweet Baby) Since You've Been Gone," and "Think," but you won't find a trace of her on this album.
And likewise, Otis Redding isn't on here either. It would've been nice if Rhino had paid tribute to him by including his big, posthumous #1 hit, "(Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay," but representing the Stax/Volt family on this comp in his stead is Johnnie Taylor's "Who's Making Love." Taylor is somewhat underappreciated as the bestselling artist in the entire history of Stax, and I'm pretty certain that "Who's Making Love" inspired Queen's "Another One Bites the Dust," because there is definitely a similarity in each of their main riffs; I've never seen anyone confirm that, though.
So, as you can see, there were a lot of moving parts and big things abounding in '68. Motown was still going strong while adjusting to internal and external developments, Aretha was continuing to kill it on Atlantic, James Brown took home the top R&B hit of the year with "Say It Loud - I'm Black and I'm Proud," and Philly soul was starting to set itself up for a whole lot more success in the following decade too. Unfortunately, this comp isn't able to capture bits and pieces of everything that was happening with R&B, soul, and funk within this specific year, but every song on here is still terrific nonetheless.
Highlights:
The Delfonics - "La-La-Means I Love You" Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell - "You're All I Need to Get By" The Temptations - Cloud Nine" Smokey Robinson & The Miracles - "I Second That Emotion" James Brown - "Say It Loud - I'm Black and I'm Proud (Part 1)" The Temptations - "I Wish It Would Rain" Johnnie Taylor - "Who's Making Love" Jerry Butler - "Hey Western Union Man" The Impressions - "We're a Winner" The Dells - "Stay In My Corner"

The Magic of Duet Songs in Music Collaboration
Music has always been an essential part of human expression, and among the most captivating styles of performance are duet songs. These songs bring together two voices, harmonizing melodies to create an emotional and immersive experience for listeners. Whether it’s a love ballad that captures the essence of romance, a power-packed rock anthem, or an R&B groove filled with soul, duets continue to hold a special place in the music industry.
From the early days of opera to the modern pop scene, duets have evolved across genres and eras. The chemistry between two singers can elevate a song, making it unforgettable for audiences worldwide. Whether performed by two established artists or bringing together emerging talents, duets often symbolize artistic unity and emotional depth.
A Brief History of Duet Songs
The history of duet performances dates back centuries. In the classical era, operatic duets between sopranos and tenors were used to dramatize powerful emotions on stage. These performances allowed composers to experiment with harmony, dialogue, and contrast. Fast forward to the 20th century, and duets became an essential part of musical storytelling in jazz, blues, and gospel.
By the 1950s and 60s, duet songs had cemented their presence in pop culture. Iconic duos such as Sonny & Cher and Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell created timeless classics that are still beloved today. The 1980s and 90s saw an explosion of unforgettable collaborations, with hits like Endless Love by Lionel Richie and Diana Ross, I Knew You Were Waiting (For Me) by Aretha Franklin and George Michael, and Beauty and the Beast by Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson.
In recent years, modern artists have continued this tradition, experimenting with new sounds and blending genres to produce fresh and exciting duets. Songs like Shallow by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper, Señorita by Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello, and Stay by The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber have shown how duet performances remain a dynamic force in the industry.
The Appeal of Duet Songs Across Genres
Duets are not limited to one genre—they thrive in multiple musical styles.
Pop & R&B – Many of the biggest pop and R&B hits have been collaborations. Beyoncé & Jay-Z, Rihanna & Drake, and Ariana Grande & The Weeknd have produced chart-topping hits that blend powerful lyrics with infectious melodies.
Country Music – Country duets have long been favorites among listeners. Whether it's Johnny Cash & June Carter's Jackson or Kenny Rogers & Dolly Parton's Islands in the Stream, country music has used duets to tell heartfelt stories.
Rock & Alternative – Rock music has also embraced duets, often blending raw emotion with intense instrumentals. Songs like Under Pressure by Queen and David Bowie or Close My Eyes Forever by Lita Ford and Ozzy Osbourne showcase the genre’s ability to bring together contrasting yet complementary voices.
Bollywood & Regional Music – Indian music has a long tradition of duets, especially in Bollywood. With male and female playback singers collaborating, Indian cinema has given us iconic duets like Tere Bina and Tum Hi Ho, which continue to captivate audiences.
Why Duet Songs Resonate with Listeners
One of the main reasons duet songs are so popular is their emotional depth. When two artists bring their unique styles together, the resulting synergy makes a song more impactful. Whether it’s a romantic ballad or an upbeat dance number, duets often convey two perspectives, making them relatable to a wider audience.
Additionally, duets offer opportunities for vocal contrasts that solo performances simply can’t achieve. The interplay of different vocal tones and techniques can add drama, tenderness, or even tension to a song, making it more engaging. This is especially true in songs where two singers engage in a lyrical conversation, exchanging verses and harmonizing in the chorus.
Duets also foster collaboration between artists, sometimes bridging different musical styles. Many modern collaborations have introduced fans to new genres and artists they might not have explored otherwise. When a pop artist teams up with a country singer or an R&B star joins forces with a hip-hop icon, the result is often a song that brings together diverse musical influences.
Famous Duet Songs That Left a Lasting Impact
Over the years, duet songs have produced some of the most memorable moments in music history. Here are a few iconic duets that have left an undeniable impact:
Endless Love – Lionel Richie & Diana Ross
Don’t Go Breaking My Heart – Elton John & Kiki Dee
Something Stupid – Frank & Nancy Sinatra
I Got You Babe – Sonny & Cher
A Whole New World – Peabo Bryson & Regina Belle
The Time of My Life – Bill Medley & Jennifer Warnes
These songs continue to be beloved across generations, proving that the magic of duets is timeless.
How to Create a Perfect Duet Song
For artists looking to create a great duet, several elements need to be considered:
Chemistry Between Singers – The most successful duets come from artists whose voices complement each other. Whether it's a contrast in vocal tone or a similar singing style, finding the right partner is key.
Lyricism and Storytelling – A duet song should feel like a conversation between two people. Well-written lyrics that allow both singers to express emotions make the song more compelling.
Harmonization and Vocal Blending – A duet should use harmonization effectively. The interplay of voices in the chorus can elevate the song’s emotional weight.
Genre and Instrumentation – Choosing the right musical backdrop is crucial. Whether it’s a soft acoustic setting, a grand orchestral arrangement, or a high-energy beat, the music should support the dynamic between the two singers.
The Future of Duet Songs
As music continues to evolve, duets remain a powerful tool for artists to connect with audiences. Streaming platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube have made it easier for collaborative tracks to gain traction, with listeners eagerly awaiting unexpected pairings between their favorite musicians.
Today’s artists are experimenting with new sounds, blending electronic music, hip-hop, and even global influences into duet performances. The rise of virtual collaborations, where singers record from different parts of the world, is also changing the landscape of music. Social media and short-form video platforms like TikTok have further amplified the popularity of duet challenges, where aspiring singers can add their own vocals to an existing track.
Final Thoughts
The magic of duet songs lies in their ability to bring artists together, creating something greater than the sum of their parts. Whether it's two legends sharing a stage or a fresh collaboration that surprises audiences, duets continue to shape the world of music. If you’re looking for a playlist filled with timeless duets, explore some of the classics and modern hits that showcase the beauty of musical collaboration. The future of duets is bright, and as long as music thrives, these collaborative masterpieces will continue to capture hearts worldwide.

Almost A Hit Flashback: 80s Edition
As most music fans know, songs that reached the Top 40 in the U.S. on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart were considered to be hits and tended to get all the glory...although even some of them became known as forgotten hits. With this new weekly feature, I want to show some love to the great songs that didn't make it into the Top 40. Maybe they performed well on another genre-specific chart but didn't make it to the Top 40 on the Hot 100 or onto the Hot 100 at all. For now, I'm going to start with the 80s because there are a plethora of songs for me to choose from that I absolutely love.

Originally recorded and released in 1967 by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell, it surprisingly wasn't a hit at a time when any song Gaye put out was almost certainly guaranteed to be a hit. In the years since, it's been covered by several different artists. But its best-known cover was released in late 1982 by Cheryl Lynn and Luther Vandross as a single from her album, Instant Love. It fell short of the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart in the U.S., but climbed all the way to #4 on the R&B chart and remains a staple on Adult R&B formatted radio stations in the U.S. as a favorite of those who came of age in the early 1980s. If you follow current popular music, you'll be able to tell right away that "If This World Were Mine" was recently used as the basis for Kendrick Lamar and Sza's recent hit, "Luther."

Artist: Queen
Released: 1976
The song was the eighth track on their album “A Day At The Races” which was released in 1976. The song also appeared on “Queens First EP” released in 1977. The song is about how Freddie is an old-fashioned lover, taking his partners on old-school dates such as dancing or dinner, also hinting at the fact that he is a good lover.
[Verse 1] I can dim the lights and sing you songs Full of sad things We can do the tango, just for two I can serenade and gently play On your heart strings Be a Valentino, just for you [Chorus] "Ooh love, ooh lover boy What're you doing tonight? Hey boy" Set my alarm, turn on my charm That's because I'm a good old-fashioned lover boy [Verse 2] Ooh, let me feel Your heartbeat (Grow faster, faster) Ooh, can you feel my love heat? (Ohh) Come on and sit on my hot seat of love And tell me how do you feel, right after all I'd like for you and I to go romancing Say the word, your wish is my command [Chorus] “Ooh love, ooh lover boy What're you doing tonight? Hey boy” Write my letter, feel much better I'll use my fancy patter on the telephone [Bridge] When I'm not with you, think of you always I miss you (I miss those long hot summer nights) When I'm not with you, think of me always Love you, love you Hey boy where do you get it from? Hey boy where did you go? I learned my passion in the good old-fashioned School of lover boys [Guitar Solo] [Verse 3] Dining at the Ritz, we'll meet at nine (One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine o'clock) precisely I will pay the bill, you taste the wine Driving back in style in my saloon will do quite nicely Just take me back to yours, that will be fine (Come on and get it) [Chorus] Ooh love (There he goes again) Ooh lover boy (Who's my good Old-fashioned lover boy?) (Ooh ooh) What're you doing tonight? Hey boy! Everything's all right, just hold on tight That's because I'm a good old Fashioned (Fashioned) lover boy
