oooh, this is an interesting one

i once told a friend, i forget who, that Mikel is what an AI would spit out if i gave it a bunch of traits i find desirable in a man. and fitting for an AI, mikel isn't actually someone i want in that way, if that makes sense? he's kind of...uncanny valley. off-putting. not quite "inscrutable," but, hmmm. sort of like his life partner granit, he's unlike anyone else out there, but in a very different way than granit is.

favorite thing about them: the passion, the stubbornness, the slight insanity, the toothy-grinned charisma. i think he'd be a great politician, which is a compliment in a sense that i love politicians in an academic sort of way (hate them in practice, with very few exceptions). the behind the scenes machinations re: auba's departure in all or nothing were kind of terrifying and fascinating at once. also, what he did for granit literally brings me to tears. it's the disney love story that disney love stories want to be. oh, also his ass. what the fuck kind of workouts is he doing

also random fun fact: his older sister is a bougie artist who lives in mallorca year-round

least favorite thing about them: a) what he's doing to aaron ramsdale. b) that he's a native speaker of euskera but he's NEVER spoken it anywhere. it is a beautiful language and i'd love to hear him speak it. mikel, your less hot counterpart xabi has spoken it in interviews, get on it

maybe, in some ways, The Best OTP Of All Time (*aside from rakidrić). it's everything, everything.

i write about it a lot on here from the perspective of what Xhakarteta did for granit, and will do that again in my granit ask. i think it wasn't as obvious specifically what it did for mikel until granit left and mikel really seems to have lost his marbles a little. i have the feeling that mikel doesn't fully respect that many people, or trust that many people, and i think his utter and complete respect/trust for granit was a relief to him, and having granit around as his true equal did more for his stability than he knew.

plus they're gorgeous together physically. imagine their kids! like. damn. they'd also speak some of the coolest languages on the planet.

xhakarteta is weird because i bash on my own writing a lot, but i'm really satisfied with how i write and interpret them. i give them that little exciting something extra 😈

random headcanon: mikel probably has the most basic milquetoast liberal politics on the planet

unpopular opinion: he looked better with the Rangers-era long hair and he needs his earring back! i don't know how unpopular that is on tumblr, but i think it's unpopular with him lol

I just realized that a lot of artists who performed World Cup songs have also been part of Disney movies:

Ricky Martin (France 1998) was Hercules in the spanish dub of said movie.

David Bisbal (South Africa 2010) sung the credits version of Into the Unkown in the spanish dub of Frozen II.

Shakira (South Africa 2010, Brazil 2014) was Gazelle in Zootopia.

Will Smith (Russia 2018) was the Genie in the Aladdin live action.

What are some Spanish-language artists you listen to? How did you discover them?

Hello anon.

The very first guy I discovered was David Bisbal when I probably like 15/16 or so. I think he was reccomended to me by an old language exchange partner. "Bulería", "Dígale" & "Ave María " were some of the first songs I listened to.

I enjoy the Los Temerarios. The taquero at the mexican store/restaurant had then playing one day and I really liked it.

I do enjoy some of the raggaeton music too. Like Farruko, El Alfa, Bad Bunny to name a few. Their stuff is vulgar but some of the beats are pretty catchy.

There are many other artists I like only a few songa from but that is just a few of mine.

While not quite exact, this song reminds me a lot of Brienne in post-show and encapsulates a lot of the feelings I’d imagine she would have after GOT canon. I love this song very dearly and have listened to it with the written lyrics and without the written lyrics. It’s a haunted and beautiful song.

Last movie: That I finished? Princess Switch 2: Switched Again. It’s maybe the third Christmas romance movie I’ve seen in my life but I really loved this one. It’s a good bad funny unlike the first which was just boring lol. Why have two Vanessa Hudgens when you can have three? 

Last show: Avatar: The Last Airbender. I’ve been slowly rewatching it since it came onto Netflix in 2019.

Why I chose my url: I’m not exactly bi- or multilingual now but I was raised among many spoken languages. Vira was a name given to me by a friend, it is a play on my name in one of their languages. Reve is from a language I spoke as a child and no longer remember.

Last book read: The Pursuit of Mary Bennet by Pamela Mingle. (The story was was ehhhhh. It was first person and read a bit like a YA novel. Sometimes I felt the author imposing her beliefs a bit strongly. The MC also felt like she took a new character and decided to call her Mary Bennet. It was so-so, enjoyable but I wouldn’t recommend spending money on. If you find yourself intrigued by the idea of a Mary Bennet Spin-off, The Unexpected Miss Bennet by Patrice Sarath was a bit more true to the way I imagine the book character and more character-centric. One thing I do appreciate these novels for is painting the Bennet sisters’ relationship is a less harsh light.)

Top three fictional universes I’d like to live in: 1)  Pokemon (I want to be ten and go on adventures and get protected by plot XD) 2) Crazy Rich Asians (I just want to be friends with Go Peik Lin and Astrid Leong) 3) A:TLA post-hundred years war and without the existence of LOK (that’s too dark to retire in lol)

Don Felipe and Doña Letizia have talked with three very popular singers, with a significant number of followers in the field of music in Spain and, furthermore, with a great projection in Latin America. They are also great exponents of the value of music created in Spain, a sector that has an impact of 5,000 million euros, more than 50% due to live music. The festivals move more than 2,500,000 people each season. In Spain about 850 festivals are held each year, only the ten largest have an economic impact of more than 400 million euros and attract 1.6 million people. Live music accounted for a net turnover of more than 223 million euros in 2016.

For this reason, the arrival of COVID-19 has been especially damaging for this sector by forcing the cancellation of events, festivals and performances of all kinds, leaving artists, promoters, agencies, assemblers, technical teams and the entire industry without entry. It moves in this area, in most cases small companies and freelancers. Just before the state of alarm was announced, David Bisbal had just released his new album "En tus Planes", the seventh of his career, and was scheduled to tour more than 60 concerts throughout 2020 around the world, with performances in Spain, Latin America, several European countries and the United States.
