Submitter's Note: Alexandra Patsavas was the music supervisor for the O.C. (2004-7). She and show creator Josh Schwartz worked together to make the music like another character on the show. It drew attention to itself. At one point, mercilessly memed with MMM Watcha Say after SNL's digital short the Shooting. However, many musicians were launched into the mainstream after being featured on the show, having previously been indie acts. The 6 mixes remain a snapshot of that specific mid-2000s music culture moment when indie rock and dance punk were cool and the second British invasion was swinging into the US.
