Some artists that I think Arthur would really like cuz I'm kinda bored(aka, an excuse to show art history):

John Singer Sargent (1856-1925):

John Singer Sargent is an icon and his composition is legendary. He wasn't that focused on very intense detail as he was with form and it's amazing what he was able to do. Eye catching, yet unrendered. Realistic, yet simplistic. Though he paintings were phenomenal, I think Arthur would enjoy his charcoal portraits the most, though. They are so beautiful and I feel like Arthur would be fascinated by how Sargent was able to use tones to give the allusion of detail rather than actually drawing out the detail. I think Arthur would adore how Sargent made them feel so real with how simplistic the composition is.

Thomas Moran (1837-1926):

Thomas Moran is a landscape artist whose main muse was the vast American frontier. His most famous paintings are that of Yellowstone National Park and the gorgeous Grand Canyon. His oil paintings are colorful and vibrant and have so much emotion to them. Given that Arthur is often outdoors and is super connected to nature, he'd probably really enjoy Moran's oil paintings of higher elevation like canyons and mountains.

Alexandre Cabanel (1823-1889):

Alexandre Cabanel is a portrait artist who created some of the most iconic oil paintings to have ever graced our eyes. His academic style of painting focused a lot on detail and precise rendering, unlike Sargent. Given the general gloominess and the melodrama of his oil paintings, I feel like Arthur would really like the figures that Cabanel painted, especially considering how emotional they are. Arthur, being emotionally repressed, might connect even more with them because of it. Cabanel was a damn genius.

Ulysses S. Grant (1822-1825):

I know some of y'all are like "what the hell is Civil War hero and US President Ulysses S. Grant doing on this list?" Well, cuz he was a pretty dope artist too. In the few drawings we have from him, his main medium seems to be watercolor and his watercolor drawings are really unique. They focused more on composition than detail and they remind me so much of Arthur's own drawings, except they are in watercolor rather than lead or charcoal. I think Arthur might also enjoy how personal they all feel and how simplistic.

Winslow Homer (1836-1910):

Homer was an impressionist painter whose main muse was the everyday man and woman. His oil paintings are vibrant and full of life as they depict the everyday life of workers rather than people of leisure. Unrendered strokes from the brush put so much personality into the paintings and even life. Beautiful and bright paintings, all of them, but I feel like Arthur would connect most with the ones that depict land rather than the ones that depict water.

Looking through the window of his office, Auron has an almost perfect view of town Square. He can see the people cheering hear the singers performing. but something or more accurately someone was missing. But just as the thought started to linger, he heard an all familiar knock. 

“Hello Rook~ come to ask me why I’m in the office so late..especially on New Year’s Eve”

“Actually. I was going to ask if you wanted me to show you a lot better off of a view than that office window of yours”

“what did you have in mind?”

Rook extends their hands gesturing for him to follow them. He reluctantly takes their hand before he is quickly pulled down the hallway.  many objections from him along the way. things like. 

“why are you running so fast?”

“Where are we going?”

Met with answers like

“Thats not important”

“You’ll see”

They stop at the end of an obscure hallway to a door.

“This is the door to the roof…”

“…..👀”

“OH! Where going to the roof!…why are wE-”

Rook swings open the door grabs his hand and runs up the stairs all the way to the rooftop

“…..” he looks at the city below him.

Town Tavern was opened Jul. ‘55 by owners Marie and Earl Turmon, locals who lived at nearby 708 Madison. In its heyday of the late 50s the 24-hour bar, casino, and coffee shop was central to Westside’s nightlife scene. After the closure of the Moulin Rouge in Fall ’55, Town Tavern became the main Westside destination for black performers who were headlining the segregated Strip hotels.

Nat King Cole, Sammy Davis Jr, Cab Calloway, Arthur Lee Simpkins, Bob Bailey, Dorothy Dandridge, and the Ink Spots all performed in a single night during an NAACP cocktail party in Dec. '55. Review-Journal columnist Forrest Duke wrote of another night when, “Pearl Bailey and her Flamingo gang sashayed over to Earl Turmon’s Town Tavern Wednesday night, and the joint was, to put it rather mildly, jumping.” Another columnist’s blurb describes an employee’s going-away party with music by jazz musicians Christine Chatman (singer, piano), Al Morgan (bass), Chuck Hampton (drums), and Bob Bailey as emcee, “there with his lovely wife Anna who dances in the Pearl Bailey’s Flamingo show.”

The club became “New” Town Tavern in late ’59 and operated more or less continually until 2013. Westside's nightlife scene deteriorated in the 60s – the unplanned byproduct of integration was the decline in black gaming establishments, but Town Tavern remained. Florence Elmore owned the club in '70-71. Danny Curtis & Elijah Green bought the club in '71; Green was still the owner in the 80s, renovating and enlarging the club after a fire in '81. In the 90s it became “Ultra New” Town Tavern and continued operated under this name until closing.

Town Tavern originally had a top hat-shaped sign. Its second sign with "Town Tavern" in a ribbon and "Casino" in a circle, was installed in the early 60s and remained until 2023. In 2016 the words "Town Tavern" were replaced with "Tokyo" for a casino which ultimately never opened. The sign was removed from the building on 8/16/2023.

Fuller's Index of Nevada Gaming Establishments says the Club Alabam was licensed for 21 from 5/1/43 to 7/2/43. Shelly, full name Mishelle Heiral. Trash Goblin. The calmer half of the chaos trio but not by much.

Doli and Chooli. Little sister and older brother. Doli looks like cinnamon roll could kill you, Chooli looks like he could kill you is a cinnamon roll.

Jason Sinclair. Stupid man thing. Is the bad guy out of my ocs. "Am I the drama? I don't think I'm the drama..." lookin' ass.

Lilith Strickland. British woman who is out for Jason's blood after he robbed and tried to kill her. Only survived out of spite and pure spite alone.

Hazel Morgan. Was only made because Arthur looks like my dad (yes I feel very awkward and uncomfy when I see thirsty fan edits/art of Arthur because of that but you all do beautiful work) and because I felt bad that he didn't have an heir. Also so Jack would have a friend in camp and later on have someone to he there for him after his parents' passing. No romance between them, just a big sister and little brother bond. Smol sweet sweet baby gorl.

Abigail tries to be supportive and plays it while she drives the kids to school, now she and Jack know all the words to Vampire and listen to it once they’ve already dropped UMD off

-both Marston children always dress as something weird for Halloween

John and Abigail stay up late making the costumes for their weirdo children bc they love them :)

On a similar note when John and Arthur were kids they were little matching power rangers and if you bring it up to Dutch he WILL cry over it bc he loves his babies

-the entire Marston family takes Halloween way too seriously to be completely honest

Abigail and John are the cool family in the neighborhood with the really good candy

-Because Isaac doesn’t live with them full time these two go absolutely bananas when he comes to stay with them, Charles is scrubbing down the house while Arthur clears out the grocery store of all his favorite snacks :)

Before he visits Arthur is texting Eliza like “what drama should I know?? Any new friends? A girlfriend? A boyfriend?!?” Just so he’s up to date

-Arthur loves Raisin Bran/Corn Nuts/other old man cereals

-we’ve touched on this before but Charles’ mom absolutely adores Arthur and when she comes over she’s basically shoving Charles out of the way like “my baby darling Arthur how are you!!!🥰”

-Isaac plays baseball and Charles and Arthur are full on sport dads in the best way possible

They bring snacks for the team, they’re sitting in those little fold up chairs, they’re cheering louder than everyone else in the stands, etc.

Arthur ‘sentimental ass’ Morgan keeps a little box of all the memorabilia from baseball throughout the years :)

Finished catching up with the episodes this week and first of all congratulations it was fantastic every bit of them, this has become one of my favorite podcasts I’ve ever listened to!

Second of all I was talking with my boyfriend this afternoon about people we know that have story names and would have powers in the Camlannverse and we were wondering, only one person of each story name survived the Cataclysm, or every one with the same name is alive and kicking? As in, for example if there were another Arthur in the same area at the time of the Cataclysm could he possibly go and compete against the one we know for the knights?

Also, are you planning on releasing the music of the show? I really enjoyed the different songs that play at the beginning of the episodes!

Hello hello!! Thank you so much for the incredibly kind words, this is wonderful to hear!!

Many more than one person with each name survived! At first, the reason the group only know one person of each name is just that they've encountered so few survivors. Like, there are 67 million people in the UK, and by the start of series one, Dai, Morgan and Perry have seen about 300 people in nine months. By the end of the series, Arthur and his Knights have only seen about 1,000. So with those numbers, every name is relatively unique.

But (spoilers) - as confirmed by the end of the series, there are many more survivors than the gang previously believed. And this means many more duplicates! In Arthur's case, he is actively hunting any rival Arthurs and getting rid of them, because he recognises them as a threat to his power. For the others - it's a mixture of luck and fate. A Gwaine by himself wouldn't last as long as one who'd found an Arthur, or other Knights, and could be killed by a different story (as we see nearly happen with Perry and the dogs). So it's kind of a lottery as to who's survived, even if they have magical names.

Also, we are planning on releasing the music! @tincanaudio will be releasing a soundtrack album on bandcamp later this year, the exact date is TBA. We'll be using proceeds to help fund s2!

Though it's worth noting we won't be able to release the vocal tracks for two reasons. One is that each song is a folk song and we'd need to come up with our own new original arrangement for each one, which is a buttload of new unpaid work for both Amber and our singers, and second is that we'd need to arrange recording all that, which again just isn't practical from a financial POV.

However! All the instrumental original scoring that Amber has done throughout the series will be on there, and there's a Spotify Playlist of the folk songs if you ever want to listen to them.

Ello! I vaguely remember that you said you rarely play video games/smartphone games other than the Sims 4. Could you share with us which part of the Sims 4 is the most enjoyable to you? Ty!!!

The open world. Sad it means I can’t play with multiple households or have to give up totalitarian control if I do, delighted with what it does to the gameplay. Besides, it’s fun to see what my other sims get up to when they’re left to themselves, I had my Martha Jones marry Bobby Singer which I thought was hysterical at the time.

(And no, I did not have BBC Sherlock sims to even out the playing field, instead there were Les Miserables sims. And Harry Potter. My Tom Riddle was incompetent at Crime, so I let him be an artist while Donna Noble paid the bills, which frankly was incredibly on brand for both of them. I mourn that save, lost to an old computer and the sands of time, to this day.)

For what it’s worth I have since become a true gamer girl, that is to say I now play Red Dead Redemption II and practically only Red Dead Redemption II. I can and I will make fun of Arthur Morgan if anyone wants me to.
