Arteza sent me Their everblend markers and colored pencils to review and I honestly think it resulted in the best traditional art I’ve ever created. Swipe for materials and my process ✨ . I’ve been wanting to try out this company’s art supplies for a while so I’m really excited about this review! ✨ Their 60 marker set features a variety of vibrant colors and GREAT packaging! I found it really easy to blend and find colors to match what I wanted for my character. I honestly don’t believe I’ll ever have to search for other colors again, there is such a wide selection (even neons). The packaging is really nice and makes it easy to pack up and take your markers with you. It’s sort of like a satchel it’s so nice! Heads up: the two sided marker has a fine point rather than brush on the other end. ✨ The colored pencils OMG this set is amaaaazing! There are 72 wonderfully vibrant colored pencils in the set. They are so soft and easy to work with I am so excited to break them out again for another piece. I loved using them with the markers because they layered so well and looked so smooth together. ✨ I loved the 100 sheet premium sketchbook’s size. It’s perfect for my portraits. The paper is strong and takes on a lot of layering without breaking. The markers definitely leak through the page though. I definitely recommend this brand! They’re relatively inexpensive and have wonderful quality! Next up I’m gonna review the 36-set of Portrait Tones they sent me, this set is gonna basically cover all the skin tones you need along with the more warmer shades. For Akuma’s hair I started with a lighter pink and some quick unfinished strokes to leave white space to define the hairs highlights. There’s a lot of earthy tones in this pack which make for the perfect shade of skin and with the light source hitting him from the left i use the darker caramel color to differentiate the planes on his body. If you’re looking to color all different ranges of skin and warmth, this set will have you covered. It comes packaged in the same type of box as the Tropical set and comes with a fine and chisel tip! Arteza Watercolor *ful review on blog and YouTube soon . . . The short: Similar to the gouache and acrylics, in short, great performing paint for the value. Overall, as good as say... koi, ...maybe even mission gold or thereabouts. . . . Pros: -value, lots for your $ -great colors, great performance -guilt free squishing of paint, you'll feel free to use it since it's not costing you an arm -good flow in water, travels, blooms, well . . . Cons: -no open stock, like the others, but it's priced so well you could get another set easily enough -pigments are not single pigments for each hue, i.e. blues are pb15 mixed with pw6 to change shades, or pg7, etc to create new colors instead of a different pigment like pb29 etc. Could affect your color mixing, greying, but there are so many colors for your eye, you'll have fun with it anyway . . . Would it replace my m.graham, sennelier, wn ? Most likely no, but you could squish out huge generous portions of these colors on your palette and paint away happily knowing your testing out an idea or embarking on something daring just because your supplies aren't costing you much to dream! . . . Today I’m gonna review this 36-set of Tropical Tones Arteza sent me, I want to start off with saying this set will come with basically all the colors needed to complete your piece. In my case, it had the perfect shades for this character’s skin tone and along with that, she has a lot of white in her design which you’re able to make interesting by mixing subtle pastel colors into the shadow. It has a combination of pastel AND bold/saturated colors to define your shape language further. It comes packed in a nice storage case with a legend of colors on top. First up, Gouache! Overall, Arteza, give em a 10 for pretty packaging. I mean, look! These tubes are like Siren! . . . Here's the swatches 😁 . . . The Good: (in brief) -smooth -vibrant colors -pigment spreads easily -mostly opaque enough (see black sections) -lots of options for your $ The Bad: -no open stock (Just get another set, they cost like one meal combo) - The pigments are mostly a single pigment per hue, then mixed with combos to make up colors you may be used to. I.e. "cerulean" is pw6, pg7, pb15; could be bad for color mixing, but great for adding highlights on watercolor with ease 😉 . . . I normally add m.graham gouache to my watercolors. Is this similar, yes... in touch, texture, sight Is it the same in how it's made, etc, no. Does it matter? That's up to you to decide. . . . Would I squish a whole tube out, use it up without guilt and create whatever I want? . Hell yes! . Why? . Because it's great stuff at a great price, thats,Why! . So, instead of saving a precious tube, using it sparingly, wondering if my paintings worthy or not, I'd easily use it up, experiment with it, try new techniques, dare I say, waste a little... And I believe that's the point.
