Day 12 : flower crown

It’s been awhile since they took a day off from work, since it was spring season they decided to have a picnic on a flower field. They just finished arranging everything, and was sitting beside each other. She placed her head on his shoulder while watching the ethereal view in front of her.

“Let’s pick some flowers” she stood up and and hold out her hand to Artem.

He grabs her hand and follow her on the middle of the field. They pick various color of flowers, suddenly Artem stop in the middle of the field while watching her happily picked flowers. He took a mental note to bring her again here every spring seeing how much she is enjoying it. After sometime she grew tired, and they went back to their spot.

“Are you having fun?” He asked while he lay his head on her lap,

She only nods, while busily fidgeting with the flower she just picked. Artem just watches her make a flower crown. A fond smile spread on his lips, admiring her beauty in all of her seriousness.

After finishing the crown she nudged him to sat down, as she placed the flower crown on top of him.

“Perfect” she whispered

Artem was speechless and flustered at the same time, seeing his reaction a chuckle left her lips. Not wanting to let this moment go to waste she pull out her phone and snap a photo of him that will probably be her new wallpaper from now on…

I’m at it again, analyzing random stuff that Mihoyo has about Tears of Themis. So each of the guys has a wallpaper with the MC featuring flowers, color schemes, and various other tidbits. So, me being me, I wondered if these things could give insight into the guys characters and potential plot points. So, without further ado, here is Artem’s.

The color of interest here is red and it is mainly seen on the MC which is something else these wallpapers have in common, for the most part at least... Red is such a vibrant, noticeable color and Artem is a more private individual which makes this red and interesting choice. Artem doesn’t lay everything out in the open immediately, in fact he’s struggling with telling Mc how he feels. Red is typically viewed as the color of passion and strong emotions, which Artem certainly has. He’s been shown to deeply care for MC and he is very passionate about helping people. One thing that is important to remember is that many  colors have different meanings depending on what culture you’re looking at. That said, red is sorta special. People have a psychological response to red. I won’t go into detail but suffice to say that red changes the way we look at people. According to an article on Psychology Today, men have greater sexual interest in women wearing red and there is some sort of mental connection between red and dominance. I do wonder if this more psychological view ties into Artem and his story’s connection to red, but that would be a post in and of itself.

With the flower language part of this you’ll have to bear with me, it’s not my strong suit. After scouring the internet I finally found what I think these flowers are: a white variation of the Japanese cherry.  Now, cherry blossom symbolism is a varied thing depending on who you ask. Oftentimes they mean renewal or the fleeting nature of life. Sometimes people say they symbolize love or feminine beauty. Considering the character is Artem and the game is an Otome I’m assuming their meaning of love is being implied here. That said, MC may be a very ‘renewing’ entity for Artem. Her innate sense of good and determination to uphold the law is quite possibly very refreshing to him.

The little coins shown are most likely an attorney badge and I’d be willing to bet that the papers Artem are holding are case files. These two things tie into the fact he’s a prodigy in terms of the law.

The thing that I found most interesting about this image is the red string that can be seen winding through it. While it’s not attached to either character, I suspect it’s likely symbolizing the red string of fate. The red string of fate is supposed to attach a person to their true love so if I'm correct it being in the image implies that Artem and MC are each other’s true love. Artem is pushed especially hard in the game so I feel like this is probably the case. That said each of the wallpapers has a string winding through it though of a different color.

Finally, position wise it appears that MC is hugging Artem. Kind of like she jumped and surprise hugged him to be exact. She’s shown to be very happy, laughing even, as he gazes down at her with a stoic expression. He’s leaned back but doesn’t look like he’s actually falling. This could be to show that he is very reliable and won’t fall easily in the face of sudden changes. There’s also the fact his arms aren’t wrapped around her. This is possibly due to the fact that he himself is hesitant about how to approach his feelings. He knows he loves her, but he doesn’t want to mess up, hence the lack of embrace on his part. On MC’s part, she’s obviously very comfortable with him. You don’t just tackle-hug anybody. She also trusts him, she has no doubt in her mind that he’ll catch and not fall himself.
