First I’ll introduce myself…

Herro, I’m DesBea! (Ao3) or des-paa-cee-toeee, or commence. I arrived in the fandom almost 4 months ago, now I’m a resident Bain stan,, (my friends call me a simp and it’s true)

I write angst and sometimes fluff. I draw a lot but it’s all spoilers, come to think of it ALL MY WRITING IS TOO. I love metaphors and pronouns, they’re so cool. Also IMPORTANT: I have a noodle brain and I’m forgetful, please be patient with me I’m tryin—

I started off on PS4, (I don’t recommend that)

I’m Infamy VII on PC right now and am willing to help users here on tumblr if they message me! If you’re doing Career I’m more than happy to oblige?? (That would be my fourth time playing through the whole thing)

I might’ve accidentally converted the PAYDAY tumblr fandom into really liking Bain, oops. I’m not sorry though.

@artcupcakes or AC! Does some headcanons and is just a nice person to interact with. I think AC’s pronouns are she/her? Ships WolfHox, MasterGuide/NaviMind and uhhhh wait that’s all, right? I think I saw her tag Houston/Chains once, don’t quote me on that. Part of the SNEAKY TAGGING SQUAD. Stans Duke.

Very talented artist and is making a good foray into writing! She likes being asked questions (though I think we all do?) and has a bunch of motivation to do everything. I talk to her and she’s amazing, VERY COOL.

@what-yadoking-likes or Yado! FUNNY PERSON. The screenshots I took makes it seem as if she’s a major Bain stan, not really though I just thought it was funny. Only writes and rarely draws but like. The best writer out of all of us;; she’s so good at describing things what?? She put her skill points into being an author! Knows more lore than I do.

Does the most random headcanons… very popular for GOOD REASON, she’s great!! Ships WolfHox, MasterGrinder and sometimes MasterGuide/NaviMind.

@hoxooster or I call him Hoxo! Very talkative and usually reblogs other people’s posts! He’s one of the Payday content regulars, and I find myself super engrossed in the real life stories he tells in his tags. Hoxo has a penchant for relating posts to experiences he’s had and wow. Also talks a lot, VERY NICE TO HOLD CONVERSATIONS WITH.

LOLLLL okay I got permission to tag this dude so here he is. @existentialcrisisetcetera or Bandit reached out to me a couple weeks ago because they liked all the spoiler ANGST ASKS I gave to AC.

Doesn’t post Payday stuff, but is a very awesome supporter and I appreciate them. Also likes Bain so that’s a plus in my book. (actually I think we all do after those asks/detailed posts I did, not including the next person because—)

Who are some people/writers/artists in the Payday fandom you feel intimidated by and admire from afar?

Hmmm... 'intimidated by'? Intimidation is... hmm. Well, I don't feel intimidated by anyone here. Not in an arrogant way (as in I AM THE GREETIST) but in a... we all have different skills, preferences and focuses kind of way? And I mean sure, I’d love to be a better artist, but I think growth comes from appreciation and a desire to keep learning rather than intimidation. 

But admiring WELL. I admire many people within this fandom. This is for sure not a complete list & I’ll likely add to it/edit it as time goes on, so nothing personnel, kid.

Artists

@neomineom I ADORE their art! They have mostly drawn Sokol/Dallas, but in the past also did some Chains/Houston. I love how they draw & colour things in a soft, pastel-ly, realistic way. Some work is NSFW but you can only see it if legally allowed to do so in your country.

@handhelld An artist & writer. Their art uses such bright colours that just P O P. I want to learn their secrets 👀 They also write EXTREMELY hot fics over on AO3.Their NSFW alt is also a personal fave of mine.

@lambda-complex I haven’t seen them active so much on here lately, but their art is phenomenal in terms of colour (that one Wolf with drill pic is insane), poses (Chains on a horse say whaaaaatt?).

@biframes A recent addition to the Payday Tumblr community! They have uploaded so many cute comics and single-shot posts of the gang and have a soft spot for WolfHox (I have famously shared in the past how many times I have viewed their AO3 fic - their handle is lowpolycloud - and consider it one of the very best WolfHox NSFW fics out there).

@artcupcakes = A bit less active these days but a talented artist and writer! They also made Grade A shitposts.

Desbea @des-paa-cee-toeee = I love and hate their work because there’s never a happy ending, but it scratches that angst itch. It’s not overly done/overly dramatic or eye-rolling-ly OoT as some angst can be - its a fine line to tread and D knows how far to push. I also cracked up L O A D S at their poly soulmates AU fic, which I believe never made it out publicly. I also... both loved and hated their Hanahaki NaviMind fic written on here. It hurts but it was so good I was grabbing my phone like a little gremlin every time I got a notification through from them.

@scrungly-sad-vlad-is-bad = the madperson did it, they went and wrote GolfGuide. I am very much looking interestingly at whether they will write more like the little content gremlin I am.

A Payday 2 AU where the contractors are 'Madams' & pair their escorts with insanely wealthy clients.

I have no further thoughts for now, but this heavily inspired by @artcupcakes and @bainposting respectively: the Butcher only has one escort. It is Dragan. He is hired out for s*x, personal training & cleaning the households of middle-aged, bored housewives, who provide him with a pastel apron to complete his chores.

This is your fault, @artcupcakes. You said he looked like sans. I was in the fandom for like a full year back in 2016 or whatever.

Also, the Keeper’s left eye isn’t on fire or anything, the people he’s intimidating experience sort of hallucinations about his appearance. Think of a gleam or something shimmering, the victim catching a glimpse of horror.

sans is like… well fanon says his eye catches fire but CANONICALLY he briefly flickers between cyan and yellow while throwing the player into walls and stuff. The difference is uhhhh lightbulb vs sparks of electricity, yeah?

FURTHERMORE, Bain says that he knew that his team would come for him. sans has been broken down hard enough to where he doesn’t even try.

They’re more like opposites? (Bain and Papyrus have more in common than him and sans, honestly speaking. Their unending devotion is similar, and there’s basically nothing you can do to make them stop believing in you)
