Antique Georgian Pearl Diamond Heart Pendant
A rare find, this wonderfully crafted antique Georgian pendant has woven natural seed pearls into a heart shape with a sparkling center diamond. The diamond is set in sterling silver with even the bale of the heart having a woven loop. All layers are woven and stitched to mother-of-pearl back in which small holes were drilled for the thread to pass and fasten the ornament securely. All this is handwork done pearl by pearl, which makes it more the treasure! Very hard to find woven pearl jewelry retaining all the pearls and threading secure. https://boylerpf.com/products/antique-georgian-seed-pearl-diamond-heart-pendant

Roaring Twenties - dripping with rubies and diamonds. This chandelier-shaped pendant, which is quite as decadent as the era it hails from, is modeled in 14-carat yellow gold and silver with millegrain borders. It boasts approximately 5.50 ctw of old-cut diamonds, with additional rose-cut diamond accents; and finally, 7 round, faceted rubies, likely Burmese, 2.5 ctw.
Hallmarked for Vienna, ca 1920s. Maker’s mark J-M. Measures 9 cm long, with a weight of 14.4 grams.

Art Deco 1920-1935
The Art Deco period was 1920-1935 and got its name from the International Exposition Of Modern Decorative And Industrial Arts, held in Paris in 1925. This era is known for jazz, flapper necklaces, headbands, tassels and a decade that heralded the liberation of women.
The trend in rings was towards larger more statement type rings. Often featuring a large central gemstone surrounded by diamonds
Tumblr media
Brooches remained very popular throughout the Art Deco period. With brooches even being used on hats and to hold feathers in place. Dress clips that could combine to form a brooch were also quite popular

As a well known style across the world, the Art Deco movement also influenced various other aspects of design. Its influence can be seen in interior design, architecture, industrial design, cinema and fashion, graphic arts.
