“I’ve seen the things you do to them.”
“They’re criminals!”
“They’re civilians” I’d be lying if i said i wasn’t affected by recent events. We’re one signature away from the terror bill and it frightens me. It doesn’t seem to be only us, and a pattern is emerging. People in power are using a shared tragedy for their own goals. Instead of aiding those in most need of their help, they’d rather spend resources to keeping their cries silent.
It’s terrifying.

5 ideas for an unforgettable summer vacation in Belgium
You want to spend the warm season discovering Belgium? Here are 5 activities you shouldn’t miss if you really want to take advantage of everything the country has to offer!
1. Visit the Jules Destrooper Visitor Center
Whether with family or friends, you’ll love taking a stroll through the Jules Destrooper Visitor Center to discover the rich history and secrets of these internationally-loved bisuits. You’ll learn about the old family recipes, every facet of the production processes, and of course, you’ll also be able to taste a wide selection of delicious products!
Kids ages 8 to 12 will be excited to go on a treasure hunt in search of the Golden Biscuit across a 2-km hiking trail full of fun activities. And why not visit the center by bike and make it a fun – and healthy – activity? Groups can spend the day on the Sweet Biscuit cycling route, discovering the histories of bread, pastries, and biscuits : all while pedaling in a beautiful countryside!

2. Explore Bruges’ canals
What’s more relaxing than getting quietly meandering in a beautiful and historic decor? Listed as a Unesco World Heritage Site, the city of Bruges has an intricate web of interior canals that you can use to travel among quaint little brick homes. With their gothic style, they showcase the true style of Bruges. Perfect for a romantic stroll!
3. Sample all kinds of Belgian waffles
Dip your toes in Belgian cuisine with waffles! Liege waffles, Brussels waffles, and beer waffles may all be equally Belgian, but they’re all a little different and should definitely be appreciated for their uniqueness. Liege waffles are round and covered in nib sugar, Brussels waffles are square and soft, and beer waffles are made with Belgian beer and aren’t as sweet as the other two.
4. Follow the famous comic book route
A true street art mecca, the Belgian capital inaugurated its own Comic Strip Center in 1989, and is also home to the Museum of Art of Imagination. In order to truly understand and appreciate the beauty of Belgian street art, follow the route from one comic book wall to the next; it’s a really fun and artistic way to make your way through Brussels!
5. Don’t miss Brussels’ must-sees
It’s definitely worth it to give yourself a few days out of your trip to stay in Brussels. Apart from the comic book route, you should see the Grand-Place, considered the geographic heart of Brussels, and its awe-inspiring architectural richness. Found in the old historic center of Brussels, both the Îlot Sacré and Sablon quarters are must-sees. Don’t forget to take a walk by the Manneken-pis, the 55,5 cm fountain that makes everyone who passes by it smile. And lastly, be sure not to miss the Jacques Brel Foundation : you’ll be able to really appreciate the great works of this artist, while also supporting cancer research.
