“She definitely will be very spoiled. But I don’t think that’s always a bad thing.” Alice pointed out, playfully. She was beyond excited to have another pet in her life and was happy that she got to share the kitten with one of her best friends. ”I don’t care what anyone says, I think we’re going to make excellent mothers to our new fur baby.” She giggled.

“Okay, let me know the details when everything’s settled. Don’t even care what plans I’ve got made I will postpone them just so we can take her together.” She was still so ecstatic that they were taking in the little kitten, happy to just have a fur baby again after so long. “I think she loves it here.” She stated at hearing the kitten purr as Nicola petted the baby.

“Oh perfect, I’ll let you know when the appointment is.” Nicola was excited for the new addition to their apartment. “We are going to spoil her so much.”

“Sure we can do that.” She nodded. “I will also call the vet and get her an appointment as soon as I can.” Nicola said as she ran her finger through the small animal’s fur.

“Well, if you ever do throw me under the bus, I’m coming for you Kingston.” Talya teased but smiling. She knew she could trust Alice - she was practically one of the only people she really did trust with her personal life matters. Only her, Lance, and Mycala knew about her situation with her family. “Oh c’mon, it’s me we’re talking about! It won’t be any basic dress - or an uncomfortable one for that matter. Remind me at some point tonight to go through my wardrobe with you and you point out which ones you like and don’t like. We’ll go from there.” She grinned. “Ayy, I know you’d come round to it. I promised Nicola I’d try my best to convince you. Mission accomplished.”

“Nicola is in on this insane idea? I’m offended. Just consider yourself lucky, Pond.” Alice teased. “You’re the only woman in the world I’d let talk me into wearing a dress. Wouldn’t be caught dead in one otherwise.” Dresses were definitely not apart of her wardrobe - she much rather preferred her oversized t-shirts, pants and trainers. She was without a doubt a tomboy at heart. But even if she hated it, there wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for her even if it meant wearing a dress for one evening; anything to see her best friend happy. “Tell you what though. You get enough wine in me and we can go through your wardrobe tonight and you won’t hear me complain once.”

“Ooh names that’s a tough decision.” Nicola chuckled as she moved to pet her back while sitting on the floor. She looked up at Alice and grinned. “Vet research is always better than academics.” 

“Should we both just make a list of names we like and find one we both like?” She suggested. "At least we won’t have to worry about her hating the name we chose and resent us for it. One of the many plus sides of having a fur baby instead. And I’m glad we agree, it’s a hundred times easier and won’t drive me insane.” She laughed.

“You’ve got nothing to worry about - I was kidding.” She stated. “I’m just being a chicken right now is all. I just don’t know how to go about telling said person I like them without making things awkward.” She shrugged. Alice couldn’t have asked for better girl friends when Talya and Nicola came into her life, the two of them making her everyday life just so much better. “Of course! What kind of friend would I be if I didn’t keep your secrets? Besides you’ve done it plenty of times for me, would never imagine throwing you under the bus.” Her serious tone was quick to change when she heard the mention of borrowing one of Talya’s dress. “Me in a dress? I’m pretty sure you’ve been hit on the head, babes.” She teased, letting out a playful sigh when her friend gave her a pout. “But for you? I don’t see why not.”

“Would you believe me if I said yes?” She asked, playfully. Dating definitely hadn’t been something she excelled at in high school, going through way too many break ups then she’d like admit but luckily having her best friends there whenever she needed them helped out a ton. Especially on nights where they just spent the night inside eating their feelings away with ice cream. She knew that having a big crush on one of her friends was going to be her downfall especially if she found out, she just didn’t want anything to be awkward between them. She smirked at Talya’s comment about the ice cream. “I’m sure Mycala won’t mind you having just one carton, but just in case - I won’t tell if you won’t.” However, she couldn’t help but let her playful smirk turn into a smile when she heard her mention her and Nicola’s weekend plan. “I’m always down for fun with my two favorite girls.”

“You best not be. You deserved better. No if’s, not buts. I might be a little bit biased considering you’re one of my best friends but we’ll ignore that.” Talya joked. She could relate how tragic her love life had been compared to Alice’s, never having maintained a proper relationship. She tried with several boys but she felt conflicted - feeling like she couldn’t be a real self while she was in the closet. And then with girls? They were brutal. “See? This is why I like you. You keep my secrets. I trusted you to keep my sexuality a secret in school, I can trust you with Mycala.” She laughed before smiling. “Yay! Aw it’ll be such a laugh! It’s been so long since I’ve gone out. Especially if we go after finals week? We’ll have a real reason to celebrate! I know you hate them but you can borrow one of my dresses if you want? I bought way too many last time I went shopping.”

But have you ever had that mindset of not being able to consider dating someone because their not someone else?” Alice questioned. Other than Nicola, Talya was another person she would share everything with but for months now she just hadn’t been able to find a way to tell one of her best friend’s that she was crushing on her. A part of her was just terrified of screwing up what they had. She smiled and shook her head when she heard her friend say ‘nothing special’ had happened. “Dunno, I’d say hitting 1.5k is pretty special. I’m waiting for when we get to celebrate you hitting 2k. How is Lance by the way? My social life has been dry the last week and it feels like I’m out of loop with everyone. And ooh yoga?? Let me know how that goes if Mycala actually convinces you to take it up.”

“I can’t say I’ve felt that way but I can imagine it’s difficult.” Talya frowned. Alice hadn’t said anything before about being hung up on someone - she found it odd since they always spoke about dating. “I hope you’re not hung up on that girl from high school. Can’t remember her name but you deserve way better.” She assumed she was talking about her, otherwise Talya would know about it. “She laughed, “Will do. Mycala’s all on that self-care and health kick right now. She’s been dragging me down with her but I can’t say it isn’t needed. I mean - look at me.” She motioned her ice-cream carton with a smirk. “He’s good! I think everyone’s just been so busy with school since we’re getting to those last few months of the year. I can definitely say that about myself - I spend everyday doing coursework and then streaming during the night. It’s exhausting but I can’t complain.” She took another bite. “Reminds me - I ran into Nicola the other day. We’re planning a night out soon at that bar in town? Saturdays are Girl’s Nights and I need to make out with someone.” She joked.

“Sure I can do that.” She nodded and went to grab her jacket and bag. Nicola laughed. “Oh yeah this will be the most spoiled cat ever.” She smiled as she set up a bowl for water and another for cat food and placed them by her door. “She seems to be settling in alright. We should take her to the vet at some point to make sure she’s okay physically.”

"I think she has, but between the both of us I don’t think it’ll be long until she’s properly settled in. Most importantly - what are we gonna name her?” She grinned. “And definitely. Wouldn’t want the little baby to get sick." She got up from her spot to grab her phone. "I think I've found the perfect reason to stop studying for the evening. I'd say researching vets for our new fur baby is much more important."

Black hair with red highlights?” Talya asked, digging into her ice-cream without another minute spared. “At least you’re actually going on dates - I remember when a few years ago, you would’ve been too nervous to do so. Steps in the right direction, babes.” She smiled comfortingly at her before huffing when she asked about herself. “Ah, nothing special. I hit 1.5k Twitch followers over the weekend. Had a dinner catch-up night with Lance. Mycala’s trying to get me to go to yoga with her as I do no form of exercise and sit at a computer as a job.”

"I'll handle giving her a bath if you wanna make a run to the store for some cat food?" Alice suggested. She was a huge animal person, her and her brother having grown up with both a dog and cat in the household and despite how tricky it had been to bathe their cat who absolutely hated water she had found it easier after a few baths. "Glad I'm not the only one who has a problem when it comes to buying their fur babies things they probably don't need." She teased as Nicola walked through the front door about twenty minutes later with a sack with not just cat food but also some tiny toys for the kitten. After bathing the kitten she had settled on letting her roam around their place.

Alice’s face lit up when she noticed the kitten in Nicola’s hands. “Oh my gosh!” She said excitedly, sitting her laptop aside and going over to where her best friend stood. “You’re right, I’m definitely okay with it. How could I say no to someone so cute; she’ll definitely make a nice addition to the apartment.”

*knocks on Alice’s doorframe then pops her head in* Sp I may have made an impulse decision but I think you’ll be okay with it. *moved fully in frame and has a kitten in her hands* I found this little thing outside by the dumpster. She was looking all sad and alone.
