I haven't really listened to a lot of podcasts but I'll definitely give it a try. do you have any recommendations? maybe about football (cause that what I'm obsessed with at the moment) or anything really

i like The Guardian’s Women’s Football Weekly a lot! they upload every Tuesday talking about the past week’s games and i like the hosts, they always seem very nice and i like that it’s primarily women. there’s an arsenal podcast called Arseblog Arsecast that does episodes on the women’s team every so often but half the time it’s just men talking about them and idk, i don’t like it lol.

BBC’s Football Daily also does a Women’s Football Weekly which i quite like but haven’t listened to that much, it’s with Ellen White and they talk to the players quite often, like last week’s episode they spoke to Hannah Hampton, Khiara Keating and Niamh Charles!

there’s also one called Two Girls Talk Balls but i haven’t listened to it yet! these are also all more eu/uk centric, but i just had a quick look and it looks like there’s quite a few for the us as well!

Have you seen the new Arsenal women arsecast honestly fantastic episode learning about the behind the scenes of Arsenals media team

I have - a really interesting episode, nice to get more of an understanding of behind the scenes of the social media/content side of things.

Plus, Leah's Q&A about the players at the end was hilarious. Continued 'Viv is the best' and 'Jill's so annoying' propaganda 😂

Tim Stillman does such a great job with the Arsenal Women Arsecasts, and in covering the women's team generally.

Some general WSL podcasts:

Two girls talk balls: very entertaining, loads of humour

Box to box WSL: talk about all of the WSL and frequently have expert guests

The Athletic women's football podcast: quite professional, a lot of good guests too

Relatively Football: always comes out super quickly!

Women's football weekly by TalkSport: is a radio show originally so a bit different

WSL + other leagues:

Women's soccer show: main focus is WSL but also talk about most other major leagues so good if you want to keep up with a lot of leagues

The Far Post: about the Australian league and Australian players in other leagues, including the WSL

FootyFE: different episodes focused on different leagues

Frauen Fußball Show: all about the German Bundesliga in English

Club specific:

Fran Kirby's Fight club: Chelsea

Went to mow Kingsmeadow: Chelsea

London is blue: Chelsea, look out for the women-specific episodes

Not to restart the argument but one of the anons mentioned that Tim also said Heath had not been impressive do you know which source?

No idea, he writes here https://arseblog.news/category/arsenal-women/ and he's part of the Arsecast, but something tells me it was a lie or it was worded differently by him. Maybe he said that her being injured was unfortunate or something similar.

For anyone who's interested, Tabea Kemme appeared on this episode in May, they start talking about her from 35:10.

General:

1) Tim describes her as a "fascinating character" and I agree (he also thinks she's hyperactive lol).

2) talks about when she got injured, calls 2018 her "worst year", and why she joined arsenal.

3) says that she didn't feel excluded from the team even though she was mostly out.

4) Dan, Jordan, Tabea and Viki were apparently the "rehab crew".

5) talks about her police work and why she joined the police force and I think it's quite interesting.

6) talks about her side projects, or "extracurricular activities" as Tim put it lol, (ex: farming, building and her camper van). "It's good for my mind and my mentality as well" - Tabbi.

7) talks about Lia, how she's adapting in Arsenal and Lia's injury. "unfortunately it's her left and my right" ahdahdksh please Tabbi 😂

8) says that joe wanted her to play as a fullback or a winger but it didn't matter which position she plays, what matters is who she's playing with. (RIP💔)

9) says that playing so many positions was good for her because every position has a different point of view.

I wish I had listened to that episode when it first came out but I think it's never too late to know how she is as a person and how her mind really works.

Omg the new Arseblog its soooo good, they go so in depth about the dutch girls personalities! My favorite part has to be Leah gushing about Viv tho ahahah

I've finally finished listening to the full podcast - listened to most of it yesterday but didn't have time to finish it til just now.

I absolutely loved it!

Great to get so much detailed analysis of the Dutch players' personalities and playing styles.

Loved the interviews with Leah, Viv and Jill - sounds like Jill has settled in well.

In amongst all the excellent analysis/discussion, a few fave moments:

DVD driving Ann-Marie to the station after interviews etc - what a sweetheart!

A-M saying DVD "she stumbles into the mix zone and just starts babbling to everyone" 😂

Leah gushing about Viv - saying she makes her feel like a 10 yr old/inadequate, bless! Also, you can tell she was really unimpressed by Viv not being in the FIFPRO - feel like she and Katie would go to battle for Viv to be included in these awards.

A-M saying how intimidated she was going up to Viv for the first time. Viv must have only been 18 then! Also love that she says you can tell when Viv doesn't like a journalist.

Tim: "Do you want to get under the umbrella" Viv: "No, I wanna go inside" 😂
