I don't usually pay much attention to mixed media, but these pictures caught my attention.

The first picture - a character surrounded by these plushies(?). It's a really eye-catching design choice. The 3D elements are covering (maybe crawling towards?) the 2D. With the way they are positioned, they seem vaguely threatening. There's that obvious juxtaposition of simple, happy characters and a suggested horror atmosphere.

The second picture is really cool. The 2d character is even more flattened by being placed in a rectangular background, yet at the same time, he is next to this obviously 3d creature.

I like how the 2d and 3d elements are mixed, so that they look like they belong in the same world, yet they also look distinct. The rabbit-like creature is obviously made of some plasteline-like substance, yet parts of its face seem drawn on. The material also seems so be squished down a bit, making it a bit flatter, but still 3d. As if it was trying to fit into the 2d world but couldn't quite manage it.

The plasteline on the weapon is also a really nice touch. Unlike in the first image, there is that direct interaction between the 2d and 3d.

The composition in this second image is a bit odd, but it works. It reminds me of a comic, in a way. Is the square a panel? Or perhaps a door, behind which is a red light? Or one can just say it's abstract and purely a design element.

Another bunch of out of context oc art... Something something aggressively masculine little guy who is about to go through a humiliating ordeal of being vulnerable and realising that he is just a kid

"Whoa, I think something is messed up in my brain. This doesn't look like my normal dream! Where's all the babes?"

"That's because it's not." Simon steps forward toward... himself.

"Hey, I know you! You're the guy who I stole those glasses from! Well, you can keep them. They make me look like a nerd."

"Hey, what are you doing? What... what is this? Some kind of hug?"

"I spent so long trying to forget about you and... running away from my past. But I think I get it now." Ice King might not understand the significance of their meeting, but for Simon, it's closure.

"It's... hard to accept things that are out of our control. I wish I could have done more, but... what's done is done. I have to move on with my life now. It's what Betty would have wanted." He hugs Ice King a little tighter. "And... to deal with that, I have to deal with you."

"Wow, you sure do talk a lot."

"Yeah... we do, don't we?"

Poof! Just like that... the Ice King disappears into a flurry of blue sparkles. Simon inhales softly as they become part of him, and when he exhales... he's staring up at his ceiling in bed.

And he feels... better.
