HI SORRY IF THIS IS TOO VAGUE BUT. would love to learn more about andy and khalil's relationship. deity of some kind x just some guy pairings make me go crazyy and i would love to learn more about their dynamic

YOU'RE FINE! Andy and Khalil are special to me bc they're Aro4Ace like me and Hershel

Their dynamic primarily centers around the fact that like, Andy doesn't know ANYTHING about humanity. Since Angels were the Sun and Moons first attempts at making a species, they're kinda OP and don't require things like sleep, food, water, or anything. Andy makes a fool of himself and Khalil has to be like "HAHA YEAH WHAT A WEIRD SILLY GUY" as Andy like, eats a raw egg whole.

There's this in the silly context of course, but also in the like, more serious context of Andy while not understanding human things, also doesn't fully get HUMANS (or angels for that matter) at all. They've kinda been able to coast through their ageless life since they're considered super important being the Second Angel Ever Made. Andy isn't purposely malicious to people, but he kinda ignores people and doesn't take their problems/feelings seriously. A part of it is due to the aromantism, but another is Kokabiel (head angel) being able to let them just get away with whatever. Being on earth and not having that kind of environment, forces Andy to like, actually care and try to understand and fix his mistakes. And he makes a lot of mistakes!

Khalil on the other hand is just a college student who is struggling with his sexuality and a secret relationship with his gay partner beckett (there's homophobia on this alt earth). He views Andy as an annoyance for the longest time, someone who keeps messing shit up for him and making his life harder. Andy makes Khalil's relationship with Beckett harder but is also the only one that Khalil can really talk to about his doubts and troubles regarding the relationship. Andy's the only one who will try to comfort him or try to cheer him up. And andy doesn't always have the best advice, or anything, but just having someone there sometimes is enough.

There's several other nuances to it that I can't really get into, but I just care. A lot about them. Khalil is like this very tired cat that andy is running circles around like a dog. Khalil was mistified by the fact that Andy was an angel for a second before he saw them shove a whole chili dog in their mouth and Khalil thought "this is what my religion is based around huh."

A word, please, fandom.

None of the PL characters have a confirmed canon sexuality. There’s nothing in the games or the canon material that states Randall is bi, that Descole is gay or that Layton is straight. Akihiro Hino hasn’t descended from on high to ban my Laywright fic.

It's not homophobic to ship Descole with a woman, unless you actively go out of your way to shit on gay ships/headcanons. It’s not ‘ignoring canon’ if you ship Descole with a man.

It isn’t biphobic to ship Randall with a woman. It isn’t biphobic to portray Randall as gay. Yes, Randall and Angela have a relationship when they’re teens. Yes, a lot of fans portray Henry, Hershel or Descole as having feelings for Randall, and Randall reciprocating those feelings. You can enjoy both.

It’s isn’t bad if you ship Layton with anyone other than Claire. I know, the FEELS of Unwound Future will forever haunt players and Layton as a character. If you don’t think he’ll ever find love again, that’s cool. If you’ve made a self-insert OC to ship him with, then that’s cool too. (I wish I was that brave.)

But y’all have to stop acting like your SHIPS AND HEADCANONS ARE CANON and that fans are ATTACKING YOUR SHIPS if they make content you dont like.

Also, consider making some asexual, aromantic and trans character content while you’re at it.

When Theron and Dominic first started their ~relationship~ did they ever worry that they would die bc of the parabatai bond(AFAIK that's how it works ? I've never read shadowhunters so I'm rusty on the lore)

Also does Dominic know he's aromantic, or does he think everyone does relationships like him?

PERHAPS MAYBE! and yeah the lore is like, if parabatai have mutual feelings there is a ~curse~ that happens, which gets revealed to be they turn into giants of angelic fire and then die (which sounds cool but it's really really stupid in practice and i hate it just trust me on this)

So I think at first they were a bit more worried about the curse coming on, but after a year they were like, yeah this is probably fine. We're probably in the clear. Which for Theron is like <:) cause it means Dominic doesn't love him back but in Dom's eyes he's like. Hell yeah this is clearly just a platonic arrangement. fuck yeah fuck yeah.

And I'm going to be candidly honest, Dom's relationship to aromanticm is based on hershel's relationship with Aromanticism. in that like, he does not know he is aromantic because he also thinks that it's not real. and that people being in "love" is just shorthand for people being horny for each other. Doesn't really help that his dad was asexual and had a CLEAR crush on his own parabatai that he didn't clock, so Dom read Cicero talking so fondly and kinda romantically about his parabatai and Dom went like "ah so a parabatai should be someone you want to fuck."

Dom is not good aromantic rep at all btw, it's why it never gets brought up in the story and is more a fun fact. Not a part of the question but i've also decided to retcon him being pansexual. I've decided he's just got an ambiguous sexuality. you the viewer get to decide if he's a super repressed gay man or he does in fact like women and just hates the part of himself that likes men really really bad!

Ok lets get greyromantic in here. Prosthetic Love is probably the only description of like. the feelings relating to romantic love that I've fully related to which should have been a clue bc like. While I think it was meant to be a sort of tongue in cheek understatement like "Of everyone I've ever knew/I've gotten used to/I've grown attached to you being here/of everyone I've ever knew/I've grown to count on you/as my own fingers". Like I don't think "I've gotten used to you" is supposed to be a wholehearted romantic statement.

But to me its a beautiful statement of what a romantic relationship and love means to me, its about the relationship and life I have with the person of my choice (the boyfriend). Like what's good to me about loving is the quantifiable like that, it's knowing that that person can be your constant and on your team and you're the same in return bc you chose to be that for each other rather than. I don't know how people who aren't on the aromantic spectrum experience romantic attraction and feelings but from like every other love song I've heard it is different than that!!!

(for me its just like. okay like Friendship 2 basically. and I like doing romantic shit so I decide who I want to do that with based on who I experience Friendship 2 type feelings for and its functionally romantic love for me. I literally thought romantic attraction was made up to sell hallmark cards until I was like nearly 17. This is why I ID as greyromantic.)

but also in terms of simple love songs I really like Acolyte it just reminds me of me and the boyfriend. "I want you to marry me/we'll wait a few years/I don't mean to frighten you/I just wanna be clear" and "Darling, let's get old" just cute. I like it :)
