What I love most about Naruto (especially the founders era) is that almost every character is so obviously aromantic and/ or ace in some way. There is no need for any of them to experience romantic attraction. It is not what drives the characters or story, and shoehorning it in there only clashes with the priority given to friendship and familial bonds that are central to what makes Naruto, Naruto. (and why it had me in such a chokehold 3 episodes in)

So here are some of my favourite characters (plus sns, and itachi because he and kisame come in the same package lol), and where on the spectrum they fall:

Sasuke: AROACE! and repulsed by both

Naruto: also aroace but his need for love and validation means he wouldn't realise it until his late 30s at least

Itachi: definitely aroace! (Agressively indifferent)

Kisame: definitely aromantic! (And the more i think about it the more I quite like the idea of him being ace too)

Madara: can very easily be read as aggressively aroace (personally I like him as somewhere on the demi or grey spec)

Hashirama: ARO truthism!! (Also love writing him as mostly ace too! Especially if I'm writing Tobirama as a bit of a whore)

Tobirama: I have never seen a more stereotypical aroace in my life! So I usually like to write him as romance repulsed and allosexual (or at least very sex favourable)

Izuna: the most aroallo in the history of aroallos! Romance repulsed, and a whore!

Mito: romance repulsed aro

Touka: also a romance repulsed aro. (They're fwb ur honour!)

Hikaku: the token allo. Jk, he's grey romantic and can't tell the difference between romantic and platonic attraction

I do! I’ve been meaning to talk more about this absolute bastard!

Ayato didn’t come of age under the best circumstances. He’s going through puberty in Aogiri, and they aren’t exactly great at guiding a young boy through a battlefield let alone puberty, so he’s doing Very Bad With All That

He’s both gay and homophobic, this dumbass has problems

Homophobia isn’t all that common with ghouls. Because of their “talk shit get hit” policy, bigotry gets nipped in the bud by hordes of queer ghouls who eat those people alive both metaphorically and literally. Unfortunately for Ayato, Aogiri has some… less than great ideas on what makes ghouls great. A lot of it is weird, bordering on eugenics-y “we’ve bred and evolved for greatness and our children’s blood will be thick with the power of our strongest” and all that. He is brought into this unique situation where “good” is living on to reproduce and make strong children, and “bad” is his personal experiences with Jason and Nico who are the only queer people he knows of. These are absolute dogshit role models but this emotionally neglected teenager doesn’t have anything better

Things do get better when he gets dragged kicking and screaming back to anteiku. While adjusting to living there again, he sees Kaneki and Hide kiss and immediately recoils because THEY ARE BEING GAYS

After awhile of “is this allowed?” and probably saying some slurs, Ayato gets reintroduced to the Talk Shit Get Hit policy by his sister. He’s made to sit down and get talked to about why the fuck he thinks like that, he tells them about how things like that were portrayed in Aogiri, and it’s pretty clear that this dude just legit doesn’t know what gay people are. They just try their best to teach him about different identities. He catches on pretty quick and even reluctantly apologizes to Ken and Hide, and he just tries to put the whole thing behind him

The thing is though, Ayato is gay as shit. He just thought everyone wasn’t attracted to girls but was just supposed to go with them anyway, and his little teen crush on Nishiki isn’t helping him pretend that he doesn’t like guys. Plus now he has access to the internet. Unfortunately for him he doesn’t know what an Internet history is so it took two clicks for Touka to find pages and pages of “boys kissing”

It takes him awhile to come out, and even then he just grumbled that he was gay quietly while in the car with Touka and Renji. They told the cafe when they got back, and once Ayato was done being angry that there was a betting pool on how long it would take him to come out, he was surprised by how little it changed. Only now his family and several anteiku guys are openly telling him about all the things he’s done that made them knew he was fruity years before he did. It seems like he was the last to know

He’s still figuring things out, but it’s looking like he’s a gay greyromantic. He likes boys romantically on rare occasions, though mostly he’s So Horny All The Time and dudes are So Pretty. He’s not so big on the details though, if anyone ever asks him about it he’ll just say he’s queer and never specify

Speaking of So Horny All The Time, At some point Touka had to teach him how to delete computer history because they use the same laptop and he’s been looking up some Things she Does Not Want To See. They’re both embarrassed and they never talk about it again

Once ghouls are decriminalized he can go to high school and interact with other kids his age. By now he’s the first to put someone’s head through a locker if they’re being homophobic. He’s also met a cute human boy that he’s been trying not to threaten with violence because he cannot cope with feeling all soft and giddy over someone

Juuzou: I headcanon him as Demisexual and Aromantic as well!! I wouldnt be surprised if he’d find a queer-platonic partner in Hanbee-but I think of him more as preferring to not have one.

Mutsuki: Gay trans man! 

Saiko: I think shes AlloAro-But one that would like to have a queer-platonic partner. (Possibly in Hsiao?) 

Akira: I think shes hetero romance wise-But I do think shes Asexual!

Assassination Classroom Sexuality PT. 2

So this is part two of my thoughts on the sexuality within Assassination Classroom. WARNING: THERE ARE SPOILERS, PLEASE BE CAUTIOUS WHEN READING THIS POST.

The first person that comes to mind is Karasuma. He’s depicted in the manga as asexual and aromantic and I agree with it. Throughout the manga, he doesn’t show any interest towards any women (bitch-sensei mainly) and got disturbed when she suggests anything that has to do with sex. Finally, he doesn’t particularly understand romantic gestures and gifts which makes me think that he doesn’t really know what to do in those kinds of situations. Now one could argue that he doesn’t have that much experience; but remember this. Karasuma is 28 years old and how many 28 year old males do you know that doesn’t have at least some experience? Not many, that’s for sure.

Judging by his appearance, it isn’t a shock that Karasuma is really good looking. So, I would like to assume that he was just as good look when he was younger, which probably made some girls go after him and being a teenager, he might have dated around but felt no feelings. AND THAT’S OKAY! He doesn’t have to be experienced to know what to do, but at the same time, he probably have had SOME experience with girls (granted, it is possible that he just brushed them off or he just doesn’t give any damns).

I got this on my last post from someone who said that Yanagisawa (aka. Shiro) was gay. And I’ll be addressing that claim here. Unfortunately, I’ll have to respectfully disagree with that statement and here is my reasoning as to why. Yanagisawa is rather psychopathic and sadist (from all the showings of him in both Manga and Anime) and doesn’t seem to derive any pleasure from being around anyone. Personally, I think he leans towards the Asexual or undetermined side of it due to the fact that his interactions towards any one (Human Korosensei and his fiancee, Aguri) was rather sadistic and torturous as well as abusive.

Overall, Yanagisawa doesn’t seem like he wishes to even pursuit a romantic/sexual relationship with anyone and would much rather work on creating weapons for the government. If anything, he lusts for power but power isn’t particularly a gender or a living thing so... But these are my reasons on why I’d have to respectfully disagree with the theory that Yanagisawa is gay.

Okay, moving onto Kanzaki.

*someone raises their hand* “Why Kanzaki? Lith, you didn’t address any females in your last post.”

That is true but here is the first female, so deal with it. ANYWAYS, I picked Kanzaki because of how her character is. She doesn’t seem to have any desire to pursuit a romantic relationship, yet feels gratification and perhaps romantic feelings towards those she has developed a close relationship towards. By that logic, it would make her a demi-sexual/romantic. (I have a very limited understanding of demisexuals but from what I have read it is someone who only feels romantic feelings for those who they have created a very strong bond with... Anyone, please feel free to correct me if I’m wrong).

But, from what I also understand, demisexuals don’t have to be in romantic relationships to feel that connection. Which explains why she was perfectly fine with breaking down her mask in front of Kayano, Okuda and Sugino. It’s because she feels the most connection with them and that is why she’s able to show her video gaming side. At the same time, she wasn’t comfortable with the rest of the class knowing it, and that is why Chiba and Okajima (among the others she managed to shoot down during the civil war arc) were rather shocked at her suddenly appearing and shooting them out of nowhere.

And finally, Yada. Canon wise, Yada has been confirmed to be a lesbian. She is in love with Kataoka. Yet, there are some fans who ship her with Kimura; and I’ll admit that Yada and Kimura makes a great couple. So, by that logic, you could say that she’s bisexual since Kimura was thrown into the mix.

However, I agree with her canon sexuality - where she is a lesbian and here is why. Many people have noted that Kimura and Yada literally have not talked with one another and therefore it is not possible for them to be a ship. I see Yada more as a lesbian due to the fact that she gives off the vibe of it, plus, she has been seen clinging onto women (Kataoka, Bitch-Sensei, Kurahashi) more than she does males.

In fact, there isn’t that many times where I have seen her interacting with a guy classmate in the series. (I can’t bring up a specific example unfortunately). But of course, you could argue that she’s just more comfortable with females than males. That could be true, but it still doesn’t dispute the fact that she actually does not like Kimura in that kind of way. For more information on that please read this article here

Gosh, there's so many, but let me think...

So first off, Crona AND Death they Kid, and soul from Soul Eater. Crona is lithromantic allosexual, dtk is alloaro gay, and soul is nonsam aro. Dtk has white rings on his middle fingers so that's where that stems from. Soul doesn't seem to romantically like anyone in the show but he does deff show sexual attraction. And Crona doesn't want Maka (or DTK, in my fanfic) to reciprocate

Abby Jones from Great Pretender because she has this weird hangup about virginity but also seems to hate romance. Dorothy from great pretender because she legit says she doesn't like that kind of thing but definitely feels sexual attraction, she's, like, romance repulsed/neutral.

Hawks and Mina from Boku No Hero Academia because mina is canon cupioromantic aromantic and Hawks just has the orange color scheme and because of some cool art my mutual made<3

Philly the Kid from Cannon Busters because he doesn't show any romantic attraction but shows a bunch of sexual attraction.

Oreki Houtaro from Hyouka!! He's arospike allosexual holy crap I can write an entire essay like it's plot relevant how aromantic he is, and he shows sexual attraction towards Chitanda multiple times

Punpun Onodera from Oyasumi Punpun because it's like plot relevant how alloaro bi he is. His relationships always fail because he's only sexually attracted to his partner and hates romance.

Touka Kirishima from Tokyo Ghoul because it's like a part of her personality. She never shows romantic attraction despite being Kaneki's love interest, but she specifically straight on says she wants to do it with him.

Sora from NGNL because it's canon!! He is quoiromantic specifically and definitely heterosexual.

Light Yagami from Death Note is alloaro gay. Just because.

And lastly, Yoruichi Shihouin and Uryuu Ishida from Bleach. Yoruichi is a trigender bellusromantic alloaro lesbian. She canonically doesn't care what pronouns are used for her and she flirts and does romantic coded stuff but never seems to commit, but she does seem to have sexual attraction because she makes fun of Ichigo who rarely does.
