I don’t know !
So link and Impa are really hurt, maybe they’ll find somewhere to camp or maybe the town’s folk will help them? Whatever it is they’ll need to find where the dark magician teleported.
Also we don’t know what the hell the Unicorn-Cat-Chinchilla thing even was? Was it helping the magician or not?
#armless! hero#doodle’s oc#doodlesbf comic#i’ m really excited for what’s next!!#i hope we get to know what link is even searching for?

/busts down your door WHAT ALL HAVE I MISSED IN BNHA?????? I just saw your comic and I’m so confused
okay so bakugou got got right we all know that, shigaraki fucked up his arm, bakugou said “oh I know what I gotta do” and did a good attack on shiggy but his heart exploded </3 and he died but edgshot said “nuh uh” and used his body to stitch it back up and then deku was late to the party and didnt even have time to be bummed out about bakugou’s corpse cause he has to fight shigaraki and then somewhere else afo does stuff blah blah blah and snatches hawks quirk (rip) and then takes off to join shigafo in that fight but all might says “not on my watch” and intercepts him and they duke it out and all this time afo is getting younger cause he used something made from eris quirk so he could keep duking it out with endeavour and that gang so he’s like a teen fighting poor old man all might who used all his savings to by himself a mech suit but it’s not going so hot for him and stain shows up to take on afo with all might but afo still wins and is about to finish off all might when bakugou starts up his own heart with his explosive sweat and makes really fruity eye contact with deku and with the power of friendship deku pauses his fight with shigafo to launch bakugou towards afo and bakugou saved all might and goes “dawg who’s this kid I’m about to beat the shit out of” and all might says “that’s afo” and bakugou goes to beat the shit out of toddler afo and succeeds because afo finally benjamin buttons out of existence but the whole balugou’s arm looks like seconds away from falling off, then after a long day of fighting bakugou takes a well deserved nap and we go back to deku v shigafo and it’s not going well for deku he’s trying to break through to tenko but he’s not getting anywear and then shigaraki steals danger sense and it gets even worse but second user goes “wait ! What if we attack him with psychic damage, give shigaraki ofa and we’ll beat the shit out of his mind so you can do your thing” amd deku is very sad but agrees and then after he goes punches all of the ofa vestiges into shigaraki they end up in his mind palace and little deku holds little tenko hand even though it’s disintegrating his own and this is where we think “wow he truly won with the power of friendship” but no !! He did not ! The afo vestige that loves in shigaraki’s mind comes out and evil laughs and says “you idiot I’ve been behind all the awful missrable things that happened your whole life ! I convinced your dad to have you, I took your og quirk away and gave you half of an ability that should have let you destroy and recreate but only gave you the destructive part because I am evil and you are too because I made you that way” and shigaraki goes :0 ?!1?;& and dissolves because afo cast vicious mockery and got a nat20 dealing double damage. We then exit shigaraki’s mind and deku has no arms !! But behind him avengers endgame style, heroes amass and aizawa steps out of the portal and goes “damn sorry midoriya if only I’d come like a minute earlier now you’re armless </3” but ! He tosses deku eri’s horn because eri havked it off herself to give to deku to save him and deku’s arms start growing back :D at the same time, afo has fully taken over shigaraki’s body and i like “haha tomura is no more it’s just me now” but he’s super bummed out because his vestige brother is gone as well and he’s like “damn what even is the reason for doing anything anymore :// I guess I’ll still kick ur ass or whatever but I’m kinda apathetic about taking over the world now” but while deku gave away ofa he still has some of the embers and with the power of froendship once more, he dodges afo’s attacks and punches him super duper hard, and we see shigaraki again :D and yoichi :00 and yoichi says sone shit to afo and shigaraki turns to deku like “this was truly our hero academia :) tell spinner I love him” and deku says “sure dawg” and they fist bump and stuff
tldr: deku gave up ofa to save shigaraki and bakugou’s arm is super super messed up which is very fun

MHA 419 leak reactions (real ones this time!)
AFO yells at armless child Izuku in the mind palace. That tracks.
Attacking Tomura’s psychological scars allowed AFO to re-emerge. This also tracks. If heart is power, and a scarred, fractured, walled-off interior allows for AFO’s control, then yeah, Izuku cracking “Tomura’s” armor inadvertently allowed AFO to take over the mind palace.
Oh but AFO just has to get one last jab in against Tomura, so of course he monologues about how Tomura never made a decision for himself in his whole life. Which isn’t ENTIRELY true — AFO couldn’t control young Tenko’s desire to be a hero to Mikkun and Tomo-chan…and to the League of Villains.
We do learn that AFO encouraged Tenko’s conception so he could get his perfect successor, which is just so Enji Todoroki of him.
AFO was close enough to touch baby Tenko (!!!) because he stole candy a quirk from the baby. Then AFO waited years to make Kotaro think Tenko was quirkless before implanting Decay, which is itself engineered from a quirk that could both disintegrate AND reconstruct. Boy does THAT sound like a copy of Overhaul (who was an orphan that AFO was oddly familiar with and knew by name….)
We get both a hero name (Gaen) AND real name for En (Tayutai)! No idea what they mean — Google Translate and Jsho are giving inconsistent answers — but I’m excited to find out when official translations are released!
“Tomura Shigaraki” decays and Izuku is ejected from the mind palace. But AFO doesn’t get his brother back. He says Yoichi is gone. Ruh-roh! He also says Decay and the hatred are gone. And he hears a mysterious echo. Hmm, what could be echoing inside AFO’s mind???
Izuku, now in the real world, tries to stop AFO (who is piloting Shigaraki’s meat suit). But IZUKU DISCOVERS HIS ARMS ARE GONE???? I mean, it’s not shocking bc Horikoshi has hinted at it for forever, but inneresting that either (1) the mind palace and real world ARE entertwined; or (2) AFO took Izuku’s arms as soon as he emerged in the real world. I think it’s the former, which opens the door to some fun shenanigans. I.e., what can the heroes do in the mind palace to harm AFO?
AFO taunts Izuku and says that he “from the start had nothing” … EXCEPT FOR REAL FRIENDS THAT COME TO HIS RESCUE!!!! Sero holds back AFO, proving once again that AFO has a weakness for sticky things like tape and, uh, Mineta’s balls.
Ojiro and Sato are close behind, helping Sero hold off AFO. Of course, Izuku says, “You’re safe” because he doesn’t stop thinking of others even after he lost his actual arms. How did Sero, Ojiro, and Sato get to Mt Fuji so fast?
BECAUSE AIZAWA IS BAAAAAACK!!!
Clearly, something happened with him, Mic, and Kurogiri, and they’re able to use/control Warp Gate. I am hyped and ready for this flashback, please give the Rooftop Trio 2-3 good chapters.
ALSO. Am I the only one curious that Aizawa is in proximity to AFO, and AFO always wanted Erasure? Aizawa has fought multiple Nomu and the entire League at one time or another, but he’s never been near AFO. Then again, Aizawa can’t fight with Erasure himself, so perhaps AFO taking it can get Aizawa into the mind palace……

MHA chapter 419 rant
What the actual hell is this chapter ?!?!?!? What is going on horikoshi?!?!??
So suprise AFO IS BACK👎👎👎 seriously what the hell I knew he was gonna come back but he is so boring and I hate him as a villain like wdym you only pulling up with a plan that failed multiple times cos you have thing for your brother like!?!? The doctor and the hero comission could of been better villains. My point still stands AFO being the main bad guy even though this mf was killed and injured by everyone is lame and stupid 😭. Like can AFO just disappear out of existence already like?!?! Also I really doubt that dfo is true considering this guy just loves to act like a season 1 bakugo and call Izuku useless every breathing moment he gets. Also at this point afo out here using shigaraki like a wet human suit thing and that's it
Shigaraki is dead?!?!!!? Vile. Y'all telling me that shigaraki is basically dead this guy basically killed himself after a little fight (it wasn't little that's a hyperbole it was huge he deserves better than this disservice) sigh so shigaraki died with all his memories and the truth of his own origin which is completely sad and wow the amount of retconning for this is insane. Wdym to tell me that AFO needed someone emotionally weak to take advantage of so he chose kotaro, befriended the guy and manipulated him into having Tenko and then used Tenko as his little thing to make the perfect vessel!?!???!? DAM SHIGARAKI IAM SORRRY HORI DID YOU LIKE THIS
Izuku lost two arms and is getting the worst end of the stick as always. As an izuku Stan this isn't it for me like what are you telling me that HE LOST TWO ARMS AND THEN PEOPLE DO COME BUT I AINT SEEING NONE TRYNA HELP THIS GUY. ALSO IZUKU IS NOW ARMLESS AND QUIRKLESS WHATS GOOD ON HERE??!?????!?!? Also looks like izuku out here being the only one who doesn't actually get a full heart to heart with their villain at least ochako and toga were treated better and got that little sob scene where they called eachothers names out and what not but izuku and shigaraki gotta be sentenced to pure suffering for no reason 🤦♀️. Also the whole page is Hella and I mean Hella creepy and off like wth is this it's too gory (I know that's not valid criticism but this is my opinion) Izuku out here being the only one who can't be a proper hero like the guy couldn't even stand up to AFO unlike bk this is just mountains and mountains of disrespect and disservice . SOMEONE CHECK UP ON POOR INKO AND IZUKU
The quirks the backstory the things?!?!. So basically overhaul had the oh quirk or whoever the guy in the picture manga panel thingy which looks like OVERHAUL. This guy had an op quirk like he had the power of destruction and reconstruction but then afo takes that away and then has the doctor somehow somehow genetically modify it ( istg i still dont know how that works or how he could do that) and then TOOK SHIGARAKIS OG QUIRK WHICH (what was his og quirk we arent ever told) and then proceedes to set this child who wanted to be a hero for pure failure. Also what is going on with AFO and kotaros relationship and why does the description of kotaro being mentally/emotionally weak heavily remind me of inko midoriya. Also the RETCON LIKE OH AFO IS LIKE HAVE A KID FOR ME OR SOME BS AND HE HAS A KID AND THEN KOTARO APPARENTLY FULLY LOVES HIS FAMILY HOWEVER IT LOOKS LIKE KOTARO LOVES AFO More THAN HIS FAMILY
Eraserhead making a comeback and finally apologising (or not). I mean at least Eraserhead is back and apologising to his student for failing to be a teacher to him which ok cool cliffhanger I guess. Also where is mic I don't think I can take it if mic is secretly off screened especially cos Eraserhead is crying why is the guy crying like is he crying for izuku which dam as he should your student is dying but he was legit shouting left and right for bakugo 🤷♀️. Also Eraserhead has a lot of apologies for izuku considering how he treated the poor dude. ALSO DOES THIS MEAN OBORO IS BACK TO THE PLOT SOMEHOW ( I love oboro) but how does this work how did it happen how did he break free Iam so confused did much due for oboro or something.
Sato, ojirou and sero out here coming in clutch. but none y'all running to see if izuku ain't gonna die from blood loss or something. Cool entry I guess everyone can take a good fight with AFO but Izuku because hori doesn't like izuku and izuku just sucks!!!. I get it 1A is too big so hori out here needing to give everyone their little moments but like?!?! This just makes afo seem so weak it first went from only all might being the one to even fouch and defeat afo and now its everyone thats not the ofa users which great (sarcasm if you couldn't tell). ALSO THIS MOMENT DONT WORK BECAUSE IZUKU LACKS DEVELOPMENT AND SO DOES 1A and their whole dynamic?!?!?!!!!!???!
I Have ALREADY SEEN THE SHIGARAKI MIGHT COMEBEACK COS AFO CAN HEAR HIS ECHO BUT I DONT WANT HIM BACK AND IF HE DOES HE SHOULD DIE WITH IZUKU COS I GENUINELY GIVE UP
In conclusion, I hope both izuku and shigaraki die and izuku to be remembered as the greatest hero and that's it honestly!!
#mha 419#mha critical#bnha critical#mha#hori is a bad writer#horikoshi critical#izuku deserves better#bhna critical#bnha#shigaraki deserves better#what the hell

While I could see how the ending of Touya going home to eat a meal with his family was expected, I always thought that was a touch too fantastical. Not because it wouldn't have been the perfect ending - it would have been a very fitting one, given the recurring motif of Todoroki meals - but because I felt it would've require an absolutely extreme restructuring of Hero Society - a complete change in attitude towards Villains, and, frankly, the destruction/reform of the current in-universe prison system. Which we saw none of in the 100+ chapters of the final arc post-Jaku.
Like. For Touya to be able to go home, means that the system is willing to change everything written here:
A detention facility constructed in the open waters about five kilometers from the mainland. Though nominally a prison, the facility effectively serves as a dumping ground for individuals who pose significant threats to public safety and security. Regardless of sentencing status, these individuals are incarcerated and heavily monitored. The prisoners have a wide range of quirks and are assigned to one of six cell blocks based on the danger their quirks represent and the severity of their cases. The more dangerous the individual, the deeper they're kept within the prison. Tartarus is the dark side of quirk society, and it is said that anyone imprisoned there will never again emerge alive.
That's how the story describes Tartarus, and absolutely no one in-story ever considers this bad (...except for the MLA's political party, who accuses it of human rights violations, but they're evil, so it canceled out to good/neutral again).
For Touya to go home, means that Tartarus is just not a thing, that he's not going to be in another similar prison straitjacketed 24/7 with guns pointed at him; he's not going to be locked in there because even if he can't use his fire anymore without hurting himself and that's good incentive to stop, he had/still has dangerous anti-hero views (Overhaul was armless and essentially 'quirkless', and thus of low threat to anyone, but he was still put into Tartarus for his 'dangerous ideology', as per the character book).
It would mean that Touya is receiving therapy in prison, so that when he steps outside, he's stepping out after having gone through a thorough checkup and made sure that he's not harboring harmful-to-self-and-others thoughts (see: Ending the Villain, whose first action when he was released from prison was to skip a meal to stalk Endeavor.) It would have to mean that the public will stop ostracizing people and be willing to give Villains second chances, at least enough to stomach the idea of Touya not receiving the death penalty and living in house arrest or something.
All of this is never hinted to happen.
It's the same for the idea of Toga joining UA, or Shigaraki becoming a hero, or even Spinner becoming an advocate that people listen to and take seriously. For that to happen, things would have to change. Someone - a hero, all the heroes, collectively - had to have declared and promised with all their hearts and might to make these changes, to be willing to go that far.
And these changes don't just apply to the League - gets applied to all Villains and all criminals and all people! If it was just the League who gets these benefits, it will be because of the high-level connections the League has to top-Heroes like All Might and Endeavor, and that would be audacious string-pulling, nepotism, and outright corruption of the highest degree. If you want to claim that Hero Society is doing better, you cannot have this either. Appropriate leniency and consideration of circumstances and rehabilitation and understanding and all that has to be shown equally to all Villains. This is what I mean when I say to save the League, you have to save all villains.
For the Villains to be saved and to be able to live happy socially-integrated lives meant that their society has been radically and irrevocably changed enough that they can and have a reason to participate - that that bright future truly included them - but it just didn't happen. it wasn't happening in 'we all became the greatest heroes' chapter 325, it wasn't happening in 'Tsukauchi grudging admitting they have to acknowledge villains are human' chapter 378, and it's probably not happening now.
#nalslastworkingbraincell#i did think that Touya would get takeout Soba with Shouto and the sibs during a prison visit#but that was already pretty optimistic thinking

I know you done content on hard versus soft magic systems but what is your opinion on crunchy versus smooth?
I will use atla to explain.
Season one The power system is well defined but basic Air Water Earth Fire. Simple to understand very straightforward (smooth)
By the end of the legend of Korra, you have several sub-categories and completely new categories as well (crunchy)
ah, a greebled magic system
I like complicated "crunchy" yet rigidly-defined magic systems, because they give the creator a lot of stuff to play with while also giving them constraints to operate in that dictate a lot of what can and can't happen with the plot. The danger, of course, is in introducing a form of magic that actually makes no sense, or something that devalues other elements of the system because its impact wasn't fully reasoned out, or carving off a part of an existing magic chunk and making it inaccessible for unjustified reasons.
I also feel like sometimes the extra crunch of a magic system can betray a lack of creativity on the part of the creator - having to invent entirely new magics instead of considering new applications for the old ones.
Bloodbending? Lightning-bending as an advanced firebending technique? Combustion Man as a unique one-off assassin? That armless waterbender lady with a completely new martial arts style? Zaheer using airbending to kill the Earth Queen? Dope new applications of existing concepts that make the magic system feel large, fluid and powerful. These are extensions of existing concepts that feel logical, or at least understandable.
Airbenders Who Abandon All Earthly Connections Can Levitate Now? Weird and kind of retroactively disruptive that it never came up before.
By The Way Lavabending Is Its Own Special Weird Thing Now Like Metalbending Was? Feels like we needed to invent a reason for this sidelined character to matter.
There's a risk to carving off too many chunks of a magic system, I think. Avatar started simple: everything the heroes could do or figure out was an extension of first principles. Lightning is kinda like weird pure fire, so lightning-bending made sense as an advanced firebending technique with a big risk of blowing up in your face. Bloodbending is literally something any waterbender can do once they realize it's possible - the horror of it is that it's a forbidden technique that becomes impossibly easy just by knowing about it. Toph figuring out metalbending by virtue of having a completely unique and incredibly granular sense for the earth around her ALSO worked, because (a) "metal can't be bent" has been firmly established several times and is clearly common knowledge, and (b) she was clearly the first person who'd ever had that combination of skill and disability and she was building her style from the ground up.
By the Korra timeline, however, we start running into things like lavabending, which should absolutely not be its own weird thing. It's just rock. We've already seen Kyoshi bend lava. If I recall correctly, the show doesn't sufficiently explain why lavabending is a weird separate thing from earthbending, making it feel like a logical component of the earthbending powerset is being arbitrarily gated just to make an otherwise disregarded character Slightly Important by being able to do it.
Stuff like that makes the magic system feel less internally solid. "Why CAN'T this magic do [thing]" is an extremely important question for a worldbuilder to be able to answer, and an overly greebled and partitioned magic system often can't explain why magic X and magic Y are totally separate. Skills and techniques and personal preferences among casters are fine to explain why something may or may not be possible for someone, but "what magic can and can't do and WHY" is something that I think should be as firmly, logically coherent as possible.

Weird question: does anyone else write or envision their hero character as somewhat disabled after changing into a Pokemon?
Like, obviously there's the amnesia, but what about their new body?Especially for the quadraped and armless Pokemon.
Like, they were a human, they had hands and arms, feet and legs, were much taller, were bipedal, and were able to grab and hold things.
They have none of that now. They have to get used to being on all fours, have to get used to a new way of walking, of eating, of holding things.
They might depend on others for help doing things that they were able to do on their own as a human, like eating, putting on clothes, carrying things.
Their body is foreign to them, they have to adjust to a new way of living. Not to mention learning to use and control their powers as a Pokemon. I dunno, that's how I always saw it.

(Interrupting the Hell Tower Q&A for a moment to show you a redesign of an Oc I haven't drawn since high school)
Diana Jewel
(The original designs from 2021, I changed her name to Diana because I thought it sounded cooler)
To be honest, when I first created her I just basically stole Strawberry Crêpe Cookie's design from Cookie Run Kingdom. When I first discovered the character I thought they were armless, because of the fact that they hide most of their body under a cape.
I thought it was pretty cool to see an antagonist with a disability, I have never seen something like that at that time. So I guess that creating an OC looking pretty much like them was my way to show my appreciation, I think.
And then I discovered that Strawberry Crêpe Cookie did, indeed, have arms underneath the cape. Whoops.
But even with that discovery, I still thought that the idea of a villain with a disability was still very great, so I decided to make some modifications to my OC. Especially the design, I didn't want to be accused of plagiarism.
Meanwhile I also thought of a backstory and personality, from which I got inspired by the songs "Primadonna", "The Family Jewels" and "Bubblegum B*tch" from Marina and the Diamonds: a privileged girl who grew up in a rich and imperfect family, she has an incredible talent for robotics and mechanics but because of how she was raised she's also very immature and incapable of showing affection (at least, for now).
I have an idea of creating a story with her in it, where, after committing a theft, Diana and a couple of other villains get transferred in a special school of heroes to change their behaviour.
There Diana would learn to grow as a person along with the other characters she meets there, in a world that is basically a combination of "Despicable Me" and "Big Hero 6", that it also makes a commentary about the school system and how it affects its students... But I think I'll stop here, I've already talked enough in this post lmao
But I do like to talk about the many ideas I have in mind, I have many stories that I want to tell yet so little time and energy to talk about and develop them. As for now I'll remain in my comfort zone that is the Pizza Tower fandom, but who knows... Maybe someday I'll be able to tell my own stories to the audience...

Let's Talk About: Fantasy High Junior Year and The Last Stand
Well, gang… That was one wild episode. And the stress levels? Woo!
First things first: if I lived in the world of Spyre and I had to take the Last Standard Exam? I will definitely not pass. A 300-word essay in five minutes while fighting monsters? What the hell, man?
(First aside: also, when Fabian was writing on the Mimic table… It did not look like Fabian was writing on the Mimic. He looked like he was giving the Mimic a different pen…)
I'm just so glad the Bad Kids had two auto-pass chances. And they used them on the right questions. Because, brother--the math question? With the time limit? Unbelievable.
And let's talk about the monsters. Because Wave 1 was already nuts--but Wave 2 monsters were large and in charge. And the wave that followed that?
Let's just say the Intrepid Heroes lucked out with the spells they prepped. Brennan, much as he cheers his players for besting him, seemed really put out that some of his nastier monsters didn't even get to do much play because of area effects he didn't foresee.
(Second aside: The Crab-Man saying "crab-man!" was extremely funny to me.)
(Third aside: Siobhan going full Axford by reading the books and preparing her own little Operation: Slippery Puppet with her Dry Guys? Amazing.)
Going back to seeing things in advance--who would have thought that the last standard exam would have smooch attempt checks as it wound down?
And while we were all prepped and ready for Kettlechips Cauldroncorn to do some heinous shit this late in the game--I truly did not expect for her to change course and do something much MUCH worse. Like, what in the absolute hell? Holy shit. HOLY SHIT.
Next episode is gonna be explosive, I feel.
Until then, let's go through some of this episode's hits:
"Butter up the proctor!"
"Cook that shrimp!"
"It's gonna be about docking."
"He's (h)armless!"
"It's all love now."
"Butter gummies!"
And light's up for Zac "Crit King" Oyama.

I REALLY hope the latest leaks aren't true...
I REALLY hope I'm not seeing what I think I'm seeing...
AFO manipulated Tomura from his very conception since Hana was supposedly "too old" for him to do it to her. Which is INCREDIBLY stupid!
And not only that, Izuku also ended up losing BOTH of his arms! Like he hasn't had enough shit thrown at him than he already did!
And not ONLY that! The other characters started to show up and saying they'll take care of AFO!
So the Main FUCKING Character doesn't get the final fight to himself! He's crippled and has to rely on the other characters to do it for him!
What a fucking joke of a story! How can anyone read this and think this is good story telling!?
Hi @theloganator101 👋,
This story is a complete joke now.
The truth of Tenko's backstory and all the Kotaro and AFO friendship shit is just ridiculous.
Hana being too old feels like a lazy excuse as to why AFO didn't use her. Sure, AFO would have a harder time with her, but a kid accidentally murdering their whole family would make them susceptible to manipulation through that trauma whatever their age.
Izuku losing both arms felt disgusting to see. The manga panel was so gory. The poor kid has already lost his quirk he worked so hard to master, then his arms on top - he's bleeding out and distraught because of that, along with Shig dying. When help arrives, no one - not even the adult hero present - (FUCKING AIZAWA) is rushing to help him.
Aizawa gives an overdue apology (using Izuku's first name, that feels unearned and OOC), which well - I'll be blunt he fucking should be sorry. Aizawa didn't teach any of 1A this academic year (only someone outside his class!) then threw them all (including those who had problems with thier quirks) to the wolves against the biggest villians in Japan. He's lucky 1A aren't perma-dead yet (but some might be soon with Izuku's state and Ojiro, Sero and Sato rushing ShigAFO 😬.)
I have never seen an MC humiliated like this. Never have I seen an MC not be able to fight their own battles or achieve their goals quite like what Hori has done to Izuku recently.
How can Izuku be the number 1 hero, or be a hero at all, armless and quirkless?
How can he save Shigaraki when the villain is dead?
How can Izuku continue to fight at all, let alone against AFO, in the state he is in?
Izuku began the story as a quirkless civilian boy, and he looks like (if he survives) he is going to end it as a civilian again - quirkless as well as armless with a shit-ton of PTSD.
Rather than the, as previously promised by Hori, next number one hero.
This is not the manga I gleefully began investing in.
This has become morphing over time into something else entirely - a bastardisation of the original premise of MHA - My Abuser Academy.
I am so angry. Never have I felt bait and switched by a manga as much as I have this one.

This is MHA though.
AKA, the series of constant fakeouts. So I'm going to go on record and say that these recent manga events are done for shock value and will be reversed. If Tomura actually stays dead and Izuku ends the series quirkless and armless, I'll happily look like a clown.
I just find it impossible to believe that the same series that let Gran Torino survive a fist through his torso would kill the main villain and also permanently maim the protagonist. No. The general lack of lasting consequences in MHA doesn't vibe with this. Because Izuku failing to save Tomura makes him the biggest loser in Shonen history. This would be like if Sasuke got killed by Madara and stayed dead, and Naruto ended the series in a wheel chair after barely surviving having Kurama ripped from him. In a shonen, when you pledge to do something, it has to come to fruition. Especially if it's an end of series goal. So that's why I genuinely believe this'll be undone.
Because the alternative is a worse ending than any other shonen in recent history. Shoto can succeed at saving Dabi. Uraraka can succeed at saving Toga (I don't believe MHA would kill Toga, again, because of a lasting lack of consequences in this series) but Deku fails. Completely and utterly. Imagine if they just kill AFO while he's using Shigaraki's body. What makes this even worse is the fridge logic of a world where they simply wanted to kill the villains. If Izuku hadn't gotten yanked away from the fight by Toga. If everyone went for the kill from the start. We have a "better" outcome in that fewer people got hurt or injured. Is that the message? That we should just kill our enemies, and that the product of a flawed society and failed social safety nets should be taken out back and shot like a rabid dog?
That's also an ending where they'd learn absolutely nothing and would ensure this probably happens again 20 years from now, except worse given the number of singularity quirks that will be running around. On a side note, you wanna know a practical reason for why they shouldn't ever kill Tomura? Because if he can be convinced to stop, he could go around and harvest dangerous quirks from people in the future, and thus save everyone. The quirk singularity isn't that big of a deal when we have someone who already has a singularity body and also can give and take quirks. He becomes a repository of all the powers that would destroy humanity in the future. Tomura is a very neat and tidy solution to a problem the heroes haven't put any effort into understanding or solving. It's an issue that we have definitive proof is a thing, and Deku can't punch it out. For utilitarian reasons, Tomura must live. What's a few of the hundred lives he's taken vs the entire world? They legit don't have any other answer.
Maybe. But even if it is for shock value and they undo everything, that's worse than it happening in the first place for me. Because then it was for nothing. I'd rather Horikoshi make a decision and stick to it, not just in this case but in general. Even if Izuku being armless and Tomura being dead is the last thing I want, him reversing it and putting them through that for nothing feels even worse.
(Also, this is Izuku and Tomura we're talking about. Horikoshi hates them I can definitely see him giving them a bad ending)
And no one in MHA- especially the so called geniuses- is smart enough to actually use him as a solution. Haven't they already decided it's better for him to die? Even if Izuku does manage to save him, he'll get locked away immediately.
It's a lose-lose situation

Maybe we're reading too much into Uraraka's reaction at the end of 425... I bet it is just Izuku feeling like he is going back to being ignored and discriminated cause he will be quirkless again...
Maybe the rest is just trying to process the situation, it's the same for her, they need to start over, and to just move on with another complicated step like talking about feelings, even if Izuku's ready, is not easy...
Maybe she's really evaluating her feelings after what happened with Toga. She might not feel like the 'same girl' she was before the battle... somehow
Izuku's just fearing how his friends will react after everything since... he might not be able to continue being in the hero course after some time.
He's fearing the day they will set him aside cause they think he won't be able to do hero work... he's probably expecting rejection again, but he finds it different now. They won't just say it; they will be soft about it cause they're friends, but it will still be there, looming over him.
It will keep him in the shadows again, and it will bring back the label of quirkless and incapable. He will be different from everyone else again. It will make his greatest victory seem like the day he lost it all again, including his chances of being with someone, that's why he's sad.
Cause he turned the experience into a dream. One he had and was amazing but now is over, and he is once more awake and aching of all the possibilities being taken away from his hands.
Like 'have a free trial, but you will not be able to keep this'. He can move one, he can do that, and he will be happy if someone acknowledges what he did, but it will feel as if he won the game that one time with a trial version, only to be left out of the game afterwards with no option but to see everyone else play from now on, might've as well remained armless... it would have made more sense
Sorry, I just felt like our greatest hero needs a hug and some reassurance and love. It makes me sad to even consider what's going on in his never stopping analytic mind...
I won't be surprised to find him sitting down alone while they travel the country, writing again in his notebooks, just to feel like himself for a moment, like before he met All Might, like before he had friends...
I'm sure Katsuki will be there to kick some sense into him, and everyone be there for him once they notice, but in the meantime, Izuku will feel pretty lonely for a moment. Usually, other people are not the enemy, Shigaraki was not Izuku'senemy, -he was just incomprehended- but the demons inside our head, Izuku's head, those demons are back with a revenge, he will need to be saved
Uraraka will be very remorseful of her reaction, probably, when she is aware of how she acted. But I don't think we've seen the last of Izuku's tears in this story... The painful arc just got started
