It wasn’t long before we figured out we both have a profound passion for leopard print 🐆 our Nonne 👵🏻 and our Italian heritage 🇮🇹 . When she asked me to partner with her for her annual @armcandy4acause fundraiser benefiting @live.laugh.love.learn.lino I knew it was something i just had to do. . Despite a healthy pregnancy, @live.laugh.love.learn.lino suffered from hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) during the birth process in which he had no heartbeat for his first 8-10 minutes of life. During that time his brain received little to no oxygen or blood causing a multitude of lesions and other complications. As a result, parts of his brain had died causing serious brain injury, most of which is related to his fine motor skills. Namely, his mouth & tongue, making it difficult to eat and his fingers & wrists, making it difficult to open a flat hand or grab items. His gross motor skills affected include his arms & legs making it difficult to bend or extend and his trunk & neck making it difficult to hold his head or body upright. But his fine and gross motor skills are just the tip of the iceberg. Other parts of his brain were affected as well and he has had numerous diagnoses in just 20 months, ones that would leave him with a battle to fight every day for the rest of his life. A mother daughter duo with a mission to give back 🙌🏻 ❤️@zagarahome “There are so many fundraisers during the holiday season and as much as I love to give back, I always felt that the donations may end up in a black hole. My mission is to bring my customers face to face with the organization or family that they are helping” ~ Oriana  In 2015, we launched our Holiday Shopping Soirée and Fundraiser as a means to allow our customers to have access to touch and feel our products first hand all while helping to support the local community that had supported us. Over the years, the event has grown to include entertainment such as celebrity appearances, a fashion show, DJ, fresh food donated by local restaurants and cocktails not to mention a red carpet.  The event is held in November to kick off the holiday shopping season in hopes that people will not only support a small business but help a good cause while doing so. I am honored to be part of Paulette’s “C” of Blue Fundraiser for the 3rd year in a row as we help raise funds and awareness for #colorectalcancer 🙌🏻 Together with @fitness64 we have designed a signature #Armcandy4ACause bracelet in which the proceeds are donated to the Paulette’s “C” of Blue Fundraiser. This year, we have decided on a Blue Tibetan Wave Agate with Gold Pavé Accent commemorating Paulette's drive to overcome her battle as a true warrior. No one knows the importance of maintaining your health and fitness even through the most difficult times than @fitness64 For the last ten years she has hosted a 5K/1 Mile event to benefit the colorectal cancer program at @centrastatehealth – a program she credits for saving her life when she was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. Due to COVID-19 This year's event will now be 100% virtual – because even though we cannot be together she still wants to inspire the community to get outside and run (or walk) and live your healthiest life. Armcandy 4 A Cause” is an initiative I started 4 years ago where I design a special bracelet and donate the proceeds from the sale of that bracelet to a specific organization. Both the beads and the charm have a special significance and this year Chuck helped me design this “Wish Upon A Star” bracelet. he chose a pavé shooting star charm indicating "wishes do come true" and he selected the aquamarine gemstone as a representation of good luck, fearlessness and protection. It is also considered a stone of eternal youth and happiness. proceeds from the sale of the “wish upon a Star” bracelet will be donated to the Make-A-Wish New Jersey Foundation on Chucks behalf. Two years ago Chuck was the recipient of a special “Make A Wish” so he has chosen to donate this monetary gift to the @makeawishnj foundation whose mission is to grant the wish of every child diagnosed with a critical illness.
