Angel's Ark Au rundown:
Hi everybody, I'm the author for a fanfiction called Angel's Ark - but I've never really elaborated outside of the story, what the Au exactly is. Here are some main bullet points. TT CW ahead of time.
Angel's Ark Au is an idea I developed after watching the 1985 Angel's Egg movie by Mamoru Oshii.
The Au combines many of the slenderverse series into a sort of "afterlife", with a heavy emphasis on Marble Hornets.
There are 22 "Angels", each represents a major arcana - if you would like a full list you can ask me, but spoiler warnings for the actual fic. These major arcana include many of the slenderverse's paranormal creatures. For instance, HABIT is The Magician, The Operator/Administrator is The Tower.
In regard to Marble Hornets, it takes on a headcanon that the members of totheark are actually possessed by some of these angels, the masks they wear are meant to resemble their true face. This also applies to entities like Firebrand and The Observer, they are seperate beings possessing a human body.
The Ark is a real place, a separate realm where most of these angels were born prior. It has different magical properties - no one "dies", persay - as long as The Devil and The World are alive.
Speak of The Devil, they are the sort of "leader" of the ark and are in charge of most preceedings that happen in the main city. The Devil has more background info which if you'd like you can totally ask me about it! I loves asks! In basic terms, they are the worst version of one's self. So they appear differently person to person. The Devil is you, but also not you.
The city is a survivor's zone against The Operator. Souls of people who are killed in the slenderverse, or were influenced somehow by it, will end up here at the ark. Obviously, The Operator doesn't like that, and is trying to bust down the doors. For more on the ark city, feel free to ask.
That is the basics! But if you would like to learn more just send in an ask and I'd love to answer it! I will also be posting more info on character designs and such. Hooray, more eldritch beasts!

So I know you received this ask before but I would like to know if you have come across more fanfics about Izuku and bakugo staying as friends. If not that is okay :D
Hello! Here are the rest of all the fics where they never stop being friends! (Here’s a link to the Pining Best Friends BakuDeku list for anyone interested!)

22 Works.
not with those shoulders, darling by Disney_Princess_Izuku( T | 30,133+ | 15/? )
Whoever asshole that said “Midoriya Izuku is a quirkless loser” was a liar, and Bakugou Katsuki would love to introduce them to his fist. Repeatedly.
[Abandoned] On The Run by Justaperson1718 ( E | 159,534 | 29/30 )
(Based in an AU where All Might loses to All For One)
Follow Izuku and Katsuki as they fight together for their very survival and mature through their experiences with each other, on the run together from the League of Villains with no one to depend on but each other. The two will have to work out their differences if they want to continue to live and escape the villains.
Izuku will have to become stronger to finish what All Might started, meanwhile Katsuki will figure out his feelings for his new companion while slowly overcoming some of his bad habits.
[Major Character Death | Underage]
[Abandoned] Call Accepted by Attack_Of_The_Flying_Dekus ( M | 13,784+ | 8/? )
When the screen was clear of lag and static, Katsuki looked at the screen… and froze. The boy was an angel. A halo of green hair sat atop his round face, the curls framing wide eyes and freckled cheeks. The boy on the screen gaped at him for a moment, his mouth parted in a soft ‘o’ before he gave a sweet smile that made Katsuki’s heart beat faster.
”H-hi, Kacchan.”
The Rarity by bittybitt39 ( E | 24,926+ | 7/? )
Midoriya Izuku had been promised at the age of four to his once dear friend, Bakugou Katsuki. Their mothers thought it smart to betroth the two in the hopes that Izuku would be protected and taught in the safety of the guards Mitsuki could provide until the day he was old enough to come to the south kingdom. After all, it was not everyday that the rarity of a male omega was born within these times.
Izuku grows up knowing he is promised, and has vague memories of his alpha from his younger days. He is also gifted, in more ways than one when his teacher Toshinori confronts his mother with Izuku being named as his successor. But a war breaks out between the kingdoms of the north and east, and the betrothed are separated far longer than the royal family would have hoped. But the war raging keeps them separated besides a few letters that are received from those that were brave enough to run through the war lands.
I’ll Be Your Hero by bakudeku ( T | 2,536+ | 4/? )
Katsuki wants to protect Izuku. He wants to make sure Izuku never has to cry again. Maybe this was his chance to fix everything, to make sure he didn’t make the same mistakes as before. If this really isnt a dream, if Katsuki really is in the past, then he’d do anything his little body could to keep Izuku safe.
This time, he’ll stay by Izuku’s side.

By Design by EtherealBeing ( E | 7,513+ | 2/? )
As time went by, Izuku found it more and more difficult to reconcile his perceived quirklessness with the ever-growing permanence of his imaginary friend, Kacchan. This boy he’d created, whose very existence was designed to balance out his own shortcomings — he couldn’t always see him. Hear him. Feel him.
Kacchan, this boy whom Izuku made as an extension of himself — he wasn’t always real.
Yell It From The Top Of Your Lungs by estupidaval ( T | 2,897 | 1/1 )
Being seen as weak by many is frustrating. Even so when it’s almost everyone who looks at you.
-
At this, Izuku sheepishly lowered his gaze, and said “Strong people cry…”
At this, Aizawa smiled again, “And what are you doing right now, Izuku?”
“Crying,” He replied as he picked at his finger nails.
Aizawa decided to keep pushing, as Izuku knew what he was implying, but wouldn’t budge.
He raised an eyebrow and spoke up once more, “So, you are…”
And ‘Ah, there it is.’ Aizawa thought to himself as a smile crept it’s way onto the boy’s mouth. Izuku lifted his gaze once more and looked back into Aizawa’s eyes,
“Strong.”

SeriesPart 1 of Life is stupid, but we can make it work
Big Mistake by Aizawx ( T | 2,452+ | 3/? )
Midoriya is a teenager who has a crush on his childhood friend, and it turns out he likes him back. When they kiss they forgot to check if they door was closed. It wasn’t.
Hisashi does not approve of his son being gay, so Izuku is kicked out of his home with no where to go.
Until a teenager with black shoulder length hair comes back into his life
Childhood friends knows too much by cosmiictea ( T | 1,904 | 1/1 )
Bakugou Katsuki and Midoriya Izuku are childhood friends that has so much dirt on each other. Everything escalated from 0 to 100 real quick when one of them spilled the beans so it’s a war between two childhood friends and rivals on who could make the other cringed so hard that they shudder from hearing what they did as a child from the other’s mouth. That’s basically it.
SeriesPart 1 of BakuDeku: childhood friends
Magnolia Dreams by ElopeToTheSea ( T | 7,098 | 1/1 )
“Kaachan!” Deku’s voice. Sweet and cheerful, like a midday breeze. He was looking at him with those big bright green eyes, holding a flower crown in his hands. “Look what I did!”
“What’s that, Deku?” he asked. He was five, flower crowns weren’t something he was familiar with.
“Mom taught me how to make them,” he replied, placing the flower crown on top of his head. “They’re called flower crowns! I made mine of Magnolias!”
“They’re so lame,” he snickered. The field they were sitting on was covered in flowers. From white lilies to purple orchids. They all bloomed in spring. “A true crown is made of metal, idiot!”
[Major Character Death]
The Childhood Friend by Fuyuzashi ( T | 13,123+ | 4/? )
Friends are a big influence in one’s life, especially to Izuku who literally spends 2/3 of his whole life with Katsuki. Usually, friends can pick up each other’s habit if their relationship lasts long enough for the change and after ten years of friendship, Izuku started to notice the change.
—
Basically, this is just a fic where Izuku and Katsuki kind of became real friends instead of a one-sided friendship where Izuku follows Katsuki around and gets bullied. Spoiler alert they fall for each other in the end.
For Years and Years… by Shadowolven ( G | 1,447 | 1/1 )
Ever since Katsuki first laid his eyes on Izuku, laid eyes on that blinding, innocent smile, Katsuki felt an odd connection to the other. Even if Izuku was the plainest one out of the entire village with no notable qualities to speak of, there was still something about him that tugged at Katsuki’s heartstrings—at his very soul.
They soon became friends and made fond memories together, but then Katsuki began to recall fragments of memories from a different time, from another life.

20 Kids and a Teacher vs. the World by AlexInfinite by AlexInfinite ( T | 12,970+ | 5/? )

Two years and a conversation later, their party grows from two 15 year olds with the lacking of self preservation skills to a party of 20 insane kids and the poor teacher they brought along for the ride. Finding a legendary civilization in the clouds in order to stage a revolution shouldn’t be too hard, right?
Izuku, ever the pessimist of the original two, begs to differ.
Instinctual Love by ChestnutPatronus14 ( M | 2,191 | 1/1 )

But in a world where Deku is the only dragon without the ability to transform, it has never stopped him from following the prince around. So when he gets hurt, is it instinct that drives him to find him? Or is it love?

TTT Locals: 14.05.19 - Ice/Earth Control
I’ve been meaning to create a tournament log for a while to log my games and make note of things that I thought went well, and things that didn’t. This is the first of what will be many posts going over my experiences at the tournaments I participate in. I have been developing and testing Ice/Earth since the beginning of Opus 8, and I showed up today with a decklist I am fairly confident in. I’ve been testing and theory crafting pretty heavily in regards to all of the different nuances and options that Ice/Earth offers, and I think I’ve finally found a good mix of plucking resources out of my opponent’s hand via discarding, and controlling the field in a meaningful way. Here’s the decklist I ran tonight: https://ffdecks.com/deck/5974004292648960
Today was 4 rounds of swiss, and my overall record was 2-2. Here’s what transpired:
Round 1: Ice/Earth mirror - WIN
It’s always exciting playing the mirror match. Ice/Earth is such a versatile archetype, which leads to a variety that you wouldn’t see in any other archetype. My opponent was playing a discard heavy deck, utilizing cards like Serah, Sephiroth and Glasya Labolas to make sure I have little to no hand to work with. My opponent was able to pressure my hand really well, but I ended up playing conservative enough and keeping enough cards in hand to not allow their Sephiroth to lock down my board state. I was able to get an early Scale Toad on them, and that mixed with Flan, Sephiroth, and Genesis, I was able to keep on a similar level of pressure. My opponent ended up bricking on backups while I was able to flourish, which ultimately led to my victory in the matchup.
Round 2: Mono Earth FFXV - LOSS
This is a matchup I have little experience with, and the lack of experience mixed with playing one of our strongest local players led to a pretty convincing loss. They were in control the whole match, getting a lot of value off of a turn 1 Noctis into a turn 2 Gladiolas. The early Noctis made playing Scale Toad and/or Flan early a difficult decision, because it wouldn’t take much to wipe them off the board with his special. That pressure mixed with excellent value off of damage made this a hard matchup to get anything going in. My opponent ended up getting both copies of Wol, Shantotto, Veritas, Minfilia, and a few other useful cards into my damage zone. That mixed with a few poor plays on my end resulted in a loss. I’ll definitely be thinking more about this matchup, because I have a feeling that this is something I’ll be seeing outside of my local community.
Round 3: Moogles - WIN
This matchup was disgusting. My opponent played well, but I started with an early Garland (IX) they never found an answer to, slammed a Veritas on the table when he finally played a forward, and carried an insane amount of momentum to make this a 7-0 shutout. One of my favorite plays that came out of this matchup was getting my opponent down to a Veritas on board, and me using Rinoa to flicker my own Veritas, killing their copy, which chained into killing mine to remove a backup of theirs. It was brutal, but hey, these kinds of games happen from time-to-time. I did get to play another game with this person which ended up being a lot closer, and they ended up winning due to a bone-headed move on my part. Note to self: Never waste Wol’s ability to make your forwards unable to be targeted by EX Bursts, even on the 6th damage.
Round 4: Ice/Water Value - LOSS
This is honestly the hottest deck of the night. My opponent is one of the many well-regarded players at a local and national level, and they hit me with some real hotness. Turn 1 Agrias flipped into a Brahne, and was followed by a 2CP DGS. My deck doesn’t handle early aggression well like this, and that coupled with Leila/Viking and backups that kept my board state locked down, it was over pretty quick.
Deck Analysis: The Good and the Bad
While I went 2-2, this is the most consistent my deck has ever felt in my experience playing it. Veritas was the MVP, but it always has and will be. If Square Enix and Hobby Japan instate a limited/semi-limited list, I expect him to be on there day 1. Garland (IX) was fantastic as well, and him mixed with Veritas in the early game is absolutely disgusting Miner ended up being a huge value in the deck as well due to recursion of Veritas, or any other key forward I needed to make some ridiculous plays happen.
I’ve been a champion of Ark Angel TT since I saw the card in pre-release, but honestly this is the most underwhelming it’s felt in any iteration of Ice/Earth I have run in the past. I suspect this is due to Veritas being a 3-of, which it normally has been a 1-of in the past, but I think I’m going to need to move away from Taru Taru if I want to push this deck even farther. Luminous Puma never felt useful either since I was never sitting on 5 consistent backups, and that’s generally the time I would play it. Gumbah is also a silly meme card, but in a matchup where Veritas is featured heavily, I do expect it to be extremely useful to have on board. Epitav never saw the board, but is an excellent, basically 1CP backup that I could use to ramp into another play due to Undead Princess being just as good, if not better in the break zone. I always ended up getting both of my copies before doing anything with Epitav, but I think he’s still worth including for now.
Changes
-2 Ark Angel TT: Taru Taru never felt as valuable as it used to be in the deck. This card could easily be replaced by the likes of Cid Raines, Lasswell, or any other forward that could provide more immediate value. Lasswell might be a poor choice due to the smaller amount of ice characters in the deck, but we’ll see.
-1 Luminous Puma: I never got the value I wanted out of it with it being in the deck. I used it one time to get Veritas and Snow out of my break zone, which in itself is a reason worth using it, but I found myself pitching it to play cards more often than not. It’s a great card that I would love to have in the deck, but I feel like I need Galdes in the deck to consider having it in future builds of Ice/Earth.
+1 Garland (IX): This card is huge for this deck. Similarly to Veritas, I find myself wanting a 3rd copy for the sake of getting it into my hand sooner rather than later.
+ 2 Noctis 7-077L. After seeing an Ice/Earth player find success with this card at the Water CC, and after overhauling my backup line to be primarily Earth, I think this card has a lot of potential to slow down the tempo of certain matchups that I would normally fall over and die in. Replacing Ark Angel TT with Noctis does skew my curve a bit into the heavier side, but with my sweet spot sitting around having 3 backups on board, this might not be a bad call. It’s worth testing, for sure.
Suspect Cards
Kam’lanaut: It’s great for fixing my backup line with Chaos if I need it, and it’s great for pulling a Veritas into my hand. I’m not 100% sold on having it back in the deck right now, but it definitely serves a purpose.
Glasya Labolas: I found myself wanting Hecatoncheir so many times with Veritas on board. That’s what the replacement would be if I went that route, but the 7000 damage to a dull forward, the freeze, and the discard are HUGE for this deck. The jury is out on this decision for now.
Goblin: This card is SO useful when I need it, but is completely passable if I have a Flan and Scale Toad on the board. I’m still keeping it in for monster fixing, but it’s definitely suspect.
I hope this gave you some insight on what happened tonight! Seeing all of the variants of Ice/Earth out there has been really exciting to me, but I think what we saw at the Water CC is where this archetype should be headed. My decklist is getting dangerously close to being a carbon copy of that deck, and with good reason. Instead of focusing on either discard or control, it does both well. I like what I’m running just a BIT more than what was played at the CC, mainly because it’s able to get more consistent discard up and running, and still controls the board in a fairly convincing way.
My next big tournaments are going to be the Acen win-a-box tournaments this weekend, and the Local Qualifier happening in Iowa next weekend.
I’ll be bringing this list to Acen with me for the win-a-box tournaments that will be hosted there, I’ll be spending a ridiculous amount of time and money at the Cystore popup, and trying to mingle with all the iM@S producers that will be there. As much as I love this game, I’m a weeb first ;)
Thanks for reading!

Opus Explorations - FF7 In Depth
Forwards Ark Angel TT - This is absolutely a testing card. I can't decide if its effect is absurdly strong or completely irrelevant. Could be culled after a weeks testing. Ranger - I'm taking Square Enix's hint that with the plethora of new monster cards released this set, we may have to pay a bit more attention to monster destruction (I'm looking at you, Scale Toad). Ranger isn't a great card but represents good value if you can break an opponent's monster. And the 2k on swing damage could be a finisher for barbariccia or diabolos (I'm struggling to justify this card...) Yuffie - This is the most accessible haste forward that wind earth has had access to that doesn't involve any chocobo shenanigans. Yuffie will do exactly what a ninja should do, surprise your opponent with a haste attack. You might not get it off at your weekly locals once people suss out your tactics, but I expect her to do more than a 2cp card should in most "blind" circumstances. Aerith - Absolute unit of a card. Depending on testing, she may end up as a 3 of. Dubbed "Wind-mu" by one of our local players, Aerith gives your Category VII combo pieces some much needed protection. Buy your foils now, the price of this card may rocket in the coming weeks! Cloud - In trying to decide what is the best cloud to play in this deck, I settled on our Opus 4 boi. Ex burst is lush for this deck, the ping damage is great for a 3cp forward, and I aim to pull off a Fina - Blade Beam combo at least once this set, or this deck will be dubbed an utter failure. Y'shtola - Y'sh is a lock in every deck running wind from now until the end of time. That's all that needs to be said. Barbariccia - Extra bit of removal that the deck may or may not need. It's worth may be linked to the success of the new legend Aerith, but it's too early to tell. Future decks could switch this to 4 drop Moogle for some added draw power. Tifa - There is a bit of an awkward dynamic with starter Tifa - I need the Tifa down to proc Clouds enter the field ability, but I need Cloud down to reduce the cost of Tifa. If you can keep another Category VII forward alive a turn, dropping Cloud H and Tifa S on the same turn (and potentially killing a forward) represents great value for your investment, but it might not always work that way. Wol - Swiss Army Knife forward. Does everything. Costs £30 for a reason. Barret - Not a huge fan of the card, but I know Tom will whinge at me if I don't include at least 1 in here. I don't think he'll often survive long enough to create significant value, but I vow to at least play him once before I condemn him to the abyss. Cecil - Extra removal, ex burst and a big body. What's not to love? Fina - Fina is more of a luxury than a necessity in this deck. I'd be lying if I justified her inclusion with any statement other than "blade beam glory play". Summons Alexander - More monster destruction. Could change in the future to the new 4 drop Alexander. Hecatoncheir - Heca gives the deck another type of removal, particularly to deal with an opponent's Y'shtola, Zidane L or Aerith. Diabolos - Yup. Monsters Deathgaze - No idea how good deathgaze will be. The effect is strong but if people begin to run monster destruction for 3cp's as standard, it may not be worth the deck slots. Time will tell. Basilisk - Not owning a 3rd diabolos gives me an excuse to test Basilisk. I firmly expect him to become a 3rd Diabolos after approximately 1 week of testing. Backups Archer - The deck wants to use chip damage as a platform to achieve greater things. There is not much Minwu around at the moment, but Archer is a safe insurance policy should he make a surprise appearance. Godo - Yuffie enabler. 1/3 of the Category VII character fulfillment achieved. Sign me up. Sherlotta - Purely for Blade Beam payment. People much smarter than me will dream up some mad combo plays with this card, but I am a simple person with simple ambitions. Give me fire CP, Mysterious Woman... Jessie - Searcher for the decks jankiest forwards. If it wasnt for Yuffie, she would not be a 3 of. But the quicker you can fulfil the haste criteria, the better. Maria - This deck may not need a booster backup, but Maria is worth including if you cannot create sufficient openings via removal and just have to beat over the top of your opponents forwards. Maria could be cut fodder in the future. Marlene - Ex burst retrieval will be sweet, but otherwise she is included to round out 3 Category VII backups. Miner - You playing Earth? Then you're playing Miner. Shantotto - Default reset button for those "oh shit" moments.
