Bringing up the Defence Club application form Kinshiro has been inteintionally putting off right as he's already pissed off at them sure was another astounding move from Ibushi.

So I was reading this article for no very particular reason, and I stumbled across this word いぶし銀 ibushigin—literally, "tarnished silver".

It's from the verb 燻す ibusu—"to smoke (something); to oxidise". That's the same kanji Ibushi's given name is spelt with, of course. But Jisho also has it as "something restrained but impressive (e.g. performance); something quiet but superb; something masterfully controlled​".

Sound familiar at all?

This is what the article says:

いぶし銀 ibushigin means someone who holds real ability that is not flashy or gaudy. For instance, an actor who, while never centre-stage, has made their name in supporting roles, and is recognised for that understated ability. While they don't stand out like a celebrity, they have real importance and skill.

So it's literally Arima's name, the Silver Chevalier: his name is his role. He's just there in the background, getting on with shit. Never noticed like Kinshirou, but essential to the operation.

Note some of the pictures have text which adds to the experience, while others duplicate text from the tweets they're from - you could probably still read the former using a screen translator and read tweets with the autotranslation, but there was a bit of a misunderstanding going around about one of the routes which warranted a proper translation.

[Note 3: 2nd grade is the highest possible grade you can get in this test. To get one, you'd need to score 70% - 100% and the pass rate is 20%.]

[Note 4: Originally, my brain rationalised this as the gold nugget keychain being on the bag, but...you can have bags with handles, clasps etc. made out of an alloy containing 24k gold and that can still count as "pure gold".]
