Jason who served 13 years at 15 years old.

Who sat upon the Argo II and knew he was going to die.

And wanted his friends taken care of.

He wrote letters.

He had few material possessions and knew them by heart.

All of his coin was to be given to Reyna Avila Ramirez Arellano.

His architecture text books to Annabeth Chase.

Along with his favourite dagger.

He counted his weapons in his head, his armour and donated them to the camps armoury.

The coin in his hand he would leave to Frank Zhang.

If not for use than... As a token for good luck.

The pelt he'd been given from Lupa, he gifted to Thalia Grace.

Maybe it would comfort her own lonely nights like it always had him.

He left her his journal too, at least one of them would get to know the other.

He wrote recommendation letters.

For Hazel Levesque.

For Frank Zhang.

They could enter any cohort they wished.

He heard talks about the future.

And wrote to New Rome University, for Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase.

Give them the peace they deserve.

He wrote to Piper, that he loved her so but knows it isn't returned. That he hopes she finds her happily ever after with another.

He leaves her his mother's ring. The last thing he has of her.

He formally declares Frank Zhang Praetor. Rewriting and filling in the documentation by heart.

He leaves him his Praetor sash, that he will knows Frank will continue to make him proud.

He left his sketchbooks to Leo Valdez. He left him a letter, that Leo was the best friend he could ever ask for.

Abolishing him of any crime.

He leaves him a pencil, asking Leo if he could make him a picture of the places he's seen when he travels the world.

He knows Reyna won't need it but he writes her one too, a recommendation for wherever she wishes to go. And that whatever she chooses he hopes she's happy.

And when he meets Nico, he writes to him too.

Officially naming him as an ambassador of Pluto, free to cross between Greek and Roman as he wishes. He names him as a trusted friend.

And hopes Nico knows how much he is loved.

He wrote details, he wrote well into the night and his hand hurt but he kept writing.

He made his own seal out of wax and sighed them all.

He made copies and hid them in everyone's rooms and his own.

It's fitting no one finds them until he's declared dead.

Leo finds them, in his own ship.

He finds them all, and crumbles to his knees when he realises he wasn't the only one prepared to die.

Except Jason never made any plans to survive.

Hi! I recently saw your post about the Grace siblings' and Percy's eye color and was wondering if you had any headcanons either for the Olympians' general eye colors or eye colors for some of your favorite demigods?

[BREAKS DOWN DOOR] HAZEL EYES. I DONT CARE WHO. GIVE LITERALLY ANYONE HAZEL EYES. it is one of my number one pet peeves in the franchise that Rick seems to be under the impression that. hazel eyes just? dont exist???? he has literally not once given a character hazel eyes. its kind of ridiculous.

i have a post uhhhh somewhere but im too lazy to find it so i'll just repost the art here about my hcs for Percy & the Argo II crew and co's eyes:

some of my strong notes are:

Percy's eyes change color to match the closest body of water, to me. His base color though is dark green.

Nico i give dark hazel eyes (because he has Maria's eyes whereas Bianca has Hades' eyes so her eyes are just solid black). Also his old official art has a lot of green and brown tones in it so that's what I associate him with. He doesnt have a canon eye color so free reign babey.

Piper i give hazel eyes for her "kaleidoscope eyes" cause the kaleidoscope eyes thing is stupid and i think it's funny if the rest of the crew was just so unfamiliar with hazel eyes (cause some people are for some reason. see: Rick) that they were describing it like it was magic. I also usually give Piper sectoral heterochromia with greens and browns.

Thalia i stick firmly with her original description of having "storm green" eyes, though I will occasionally throw some blue heterochromia of some variety her way just for funsies.

Sometimes I will give Annabeth more grey-hazel leaning eyes cause why not. logistically if she has grey eyes theyre probably actually hazel anyways.

In general I like to play around with variety in exact colors and highlights and stuff. Cause it's no fun when people will give characters four different shades of green eyes and ten shades of blue but only one shade of brown. That's a huge pet peeve of mine as well. All my Athena kid designs still have the grey eyes but theyre all very varying greys (mid-tone grey, hazel-grey, blue-grey, brown-grey, dark grey/nearly black, etc etc).

For gods/Olympians i dont have a lot of specific ideas! Besides Hades' irises probably being just solid black or close to solid black most of the time, since we know Bianca has his eyes. I imagine it'd probably change for the gods depending on how they're being perceived or what form they're in.

Category 1- ANGST:

1. Ok not too many spoilers for this one but it’s SUPER angsty. All I can say is Leo faces a very creative punishment from Nemesis for cheating the prophecy and coming back to life, and it’s called “The only sad person in paradise” (undertones of Valgrace).

2. Leo deals with coping with the trauma of dying. LOT of angsty headcanons, including one where the design for the chb bead for the summer hoo is set in was the moment of Leo’s death. And he just has to keep that around his neck the whole time, and it’s chocking him. The opening line is “Every so often, Leo needed to remind himself that his heart was still beating.”

3. A curse befalls camp half-blood that’s slowly reversing the effects of their powers. Hecate cabin’s spells are being undone, plants are un-growing, arms healed by Apollo cabin are re-breaking. Magic is being unwound, and then Leo’s body starts to ache, and he realises… does that include a certain Physician’s Cure?

Category 2- VALGRACE

4. Platonic Valgrace (Romance implied)- “Never go to bed angry”- Leo and Jason have an argument on the Argo II. Jason thinks Leo won’t understand him because he’s never had to live up to the expectations of leadership that come with being a child soldier. Leo thinks Jason won’t understand him because he’s never had to fend for himself, he believes everything Jason has is because of who his father is. They storm off (Jason in the literal sense), argue with themselves for a bit- I did a really cool thing where I switch POVs every line or so, as their arguments parallel each other, like in a TV show where two characters are rehearsing a conversation with the other, but using the HOO multiple-POV thing- and then they go to sleep. They both have weird vision/flashbacks/prophetic dreams, where they experience a day in the other’s childhood. They then realise they completely misunderstood one another, and they’re not as different as they thought.

5. Jason and Leo go to New York pride. That’s the whole fic.

6. Instead of… whatever that ending to BOO was, the Gods reward Leo for his sacrifice by bringing Esperanza Valdez back to life. She thanks Jason for taking care of Leo while she was gone, and they have a heart-to-heart. They are officially boyfriends in this. Jason keeps being reminded of his own reunion with Thalia, and how Leo had stayed with him through that. He vows to do the same.

Category 3- MARRIED VALGRACE:

7. Leo and Jason get married (A classic “Wedding Episode”)

8. Just a fic describing married life with Leo and Jason- it’s called “Violets and Marigolds”

9. A fic from the POV of Leo and Jason’s kid, Isabella Valdez. Some angst, but I don’t have the full plot outlined yet. She’s adopted, and they don’t know her true godly heritage, and Leo suspects she might be mortal, and maybe Lupa made a mistake. Leo and Jason argue over whether she should join the Legion (They’re living in New Rome). Leo struggles with his fear of hurting the people he loves with his powers.

Category 4- MISCELLANEOUS:

10. Platonic Perleo- Percy and Leo get captured by government agents and have to escape Area 51 (Vaguely inspired by an episode of Helluva Boss)- VERY NERDY. This is a very fun one.

11. Leo talks to Hestia about… life, I guess. I started writing this while still on TLH and never found an ending, but it’s a good concept. Leo learns to accept his powers as something that can be good, when he only sees the bad. Hestia tells him “If fire was only about danger and destruction, then it would be the symbol of Ares, not Hephaestus.”

12. Thalia, Luke and Annabeth find little Leo while on the run. Leo and Annabeth bond over engineering. Luke tries to use Leo’s trauma as leverage to get Leo angry at the Gods. He tries to put the blame of Leo’s mom’s death on Hephaestus, since he’s responsible for giving Leo his powers. He points out how the Gods are all-powerful, and yet they leave the four of them- their own children- to starve on the streets. Leo in canon harbours a lot of resentment for his situation growing up, and Luke could easily spin that to justify his own anger.

TBB X EPIC - Pt. 1

Nothin' like combining two fixations into one.

Kid you not, after the Ithaca Saga was released, I couldn't listen to anything else until like a day ago. And even then what I listened to was other songs from other sagas.

Anywho! I've had this AU idea in my head for a while now (like sometime in November) and now that the whole musical has been officially released, I had the motivation to put the idea onto digital paper.

So, without further ado, here is the first bit of:

The Bad Batch!

Hunter -> Odysseus Omega -> Telemachus Echo -> Athena Tech -> Tiresias Wrecker -> Polites Crosshair -> Eurylochus NOT PICTURED: Batcher -> Argos

I tried to make the characters match up as much as possible, but some are more fitting than others. Don't think about it too much.

Hunter as Odysseus for obvious reasons

He's the dad and the captain/sergeant of the group who'd do anything for his family

I'm sure we would've seen him go full Monster™️ just to get Omega back in S3 if the plot had called for it

His little headband can be a wreath :)

Sure he's not as cunning as og Odysseus but oh well

No idea who Astyanax would be though

Echo as Athena because I wasn't sure where to put him originally

For the longest time I thought about Fennec being Athena but then realized I didn't have Echo as any of the characters so I had him take her place instead

He helps out/trains Omega as Athena does for Telemachus - or should I say, she takes him under her wing?

Then I realized it somewhat fits because Echo is a strategist much like Athena

Wrecker as Polites because they're rays of sunshine who could do no wrong

It is hilarious to picture him singing Polites' part in the musical though because Steve's voice is so high and very much not what Wrecker's singing voice would sound like

That's literally it - I'm so sad that my favorite gets killed so early into the musical :(

Tech as Tiresias because he's all-knowing and not-so-good at seeing

Didn't know where else to place him

Fun fact! "No Longer You" is my favorite song from the entire musical

Crosshair as Eurylochus because of the falling out he has with Odysseus (i.e. Hunter) despite how close they are

Makes poor choices that they genuinely believe are justified

Value loyalty and transparency and when that's broken, so is the trust and relationship they have with the person who broke it

Like with Wrecker, it's funny picturing him singing Eurylochus' parts because Armando's voice is so deep

Omega as Telemachus for the obvious reason of being Hunter's kid so by default she gets the role

She's got Telemachus' passion and strength though - albeit if she's still naive and in need of a mentor

Batcher gets to be Argos too

▸ no matter how bad the situation is—on a scale of apollo to lester—you always manage to walk out of it unscathed (which is pretty surprising, owing to the number of sarcastic comments you’ve made at the wrong people)

▸ you’ve occasionally had library dates with all the girls! <3

▸ you’ve never regretted a single moment with your found family, especially since they’re always there for you, no matter what! if they ever find you going through something alone, you bet at least two of them are coming over to your room to eat your favourite ice cream with you binge watch your favourite show’s newest seasons

Usually, the Argo II monthly meetings are a casual thing, no one ever has plans in advance as to what they'll do once they're there. So it's pretty damn weird when you show up with a whole cake, a massive bag of snacks, and decorations.

"Cake!" Percy approaches to help you with the stuff. "Nice."

"What's all that for?" Frank asks with curiosity.

"My birthday," you replie casually.

Leo chokes on his drink while Annabeth stiffens in place, everyone else lets out different types of replies in various levels of panic and feigned exclamations of "Right, Frank! It's their birthday, don't tell us you forgot!" Everyone except Jason, Nico, and Will, of course, they all had marked the day in advance.

"Happy birthday!" Jason approaches with a sweet smile and gives you a crushing bear hug and a birthday bag.

"Thank you, man!" You smile happily, dropping the snack bag and the decorations on the table.

"We need tape!" Percy quickly gets up and walks to the door. "I'll get it!"

Annabeth grabs her cap and puts it on, instantly disappearing. Piper pretends to take a phone call and leaves while Leo rummages inside his tool belt. Hazel stretches a hand behind her chair and pulls literal treasure from the ground while Frank fidgets beside her trying to come up with something.

Nico and Will approach you, giving everyone else time to recover. Nico goes first, handing out his carefully wrapped present. He encourages you to open it—mostly to give everyone else a chance to find something—and inside you find a bag of rock-shaped chocolates of different colors and sizes and a whole new limited-edition deck of Mythomagic.

"Rocks!" You smile. "Thanks!"

Will goes next and hands you an envelope. "I thought it'd be nice to stretch out the celebration for another day."

"What?" You tilt your head in confusion and take a peak inside the envelope. "Ohhh!" You pull out three tickets to the newest Broadway show you once mentioned you were interested in watching. "Will!"

"Don't even," he brushes it aside. "Sponsored by dad, he says hi and happy birthday, by the way."

"Tell him I say hi back and thanks a lot!" You look at the tickets again. "There are three tickets here..."

Will blushes and clears his throat. "Yeah, I uhm—I don't know if it's okay with you, like, you can say no if you want to, but I thought we could go together?" He signals at you and Nico. "Like... us."

Nico gives Will a look but his boyfriend pretends not to see it, smiling at you bashfully.

"Oh," you feel fuzzy inside but quickly brush it off before getting the wrong idea. "That's really sweet that you want to escort me, thank you."

"Don't say it like that," Will laughs, though it comes out a bit too loud. "It's more like... a hangout. Right, Nico?"

"What he said," the boy says plainly, a light pinkish blush on his face.

You open your mouth to reply but someone storms into the rec room, screaming and stomping his hooves down the stairs. "I HEARD SOMEONE'S A YEAR OLDER TODAY!"

Hedge shows up at the foot of the stairs and happily makes his way to you, roughly patting your back and rambling about how small you were before and how proud he is that he's seen you grow (he literally never saw you as a child).

His present is a pocket knife and a survival guide that looks suspiciously hand-made by the satyr, but you can appreciate the effort, and it's a really cool gift anyway, so you smile and thank him for his presents.

Jason is next, and his gift makes your jaw drop to the floor as you open it, it's the official plushie of that one blorbo you've been yapping about for the past six months. "Where did you even get that? It's not supposed to be out for another two months!"

"I know a guy," he winks at you grinning. Then he pulls out a birthday card. "This is from Bobby, he couldn't make it but sends you his best wishes."

"This is awesome, Jason," you squeeze the plushie in your arms and hold the card carefully. Nico and Will look a bit pouty for a moment, but you overlook that.

"Sorry for that! It was my girlfriend, I had to pick up," Piper reenters the room, holding a large stick in her hand. "Here's your present, Y/N."

"A stick!" You beam, taking it from her very carefully. "My favorite!"

"It's not just any stick," Piper smiles, adopting a dramatic tone. "That is a friendship stick, Granpa says we give those to our closest friends to represent we are branches from the same tree."

"Why didn't I get a stick last year?" Leo frowns.

"Not now, dude," Piper mutters.

"That's so sweet and original," Will says with a knowing smirk. "I really like how that stick looks made exactly from the same wood the tree outside the Big House."

"All wood looks the same, Will," Piper states curtly.

"I disagree."

"Tape!" Percy returns holding the small roll. He also has a plushie shark under his arm with a blue ribbon around the chubby head. "Happy birthday, Y/N!"

When he hands the plushie, you can feel the slightly damp texture and you pause. "Is this wet?"

"It's part of the charm, don't question it," Percy replies without facing you, picking up the decorations and hanging them around the room.

"My plushie was better," Jason mutters, also picking up a few decorations.

"HA-HA, this is not a competition, superman!" Percy says tensely, then mutters. "If it were Nico would find the way to cheat..."

"For the last time, it was a fair tactic—"

"Happy birthday, Y/N, here's a crystal to make sure the stick and the damp plushie aren't haunted," Hazel gives you a nice lavender rock that you happily put next to your chocolate rocks.

"My present didn't arrive on time," Frank blurts out anxiously. "Amazon misplaced it. You know they hate me there."

"No worries, Frank, I get it," you smile innocently.

"Well, anyway, you got the lame presents out of the way, here's mine," Leo hands you something that looks very much like an explosive. "Why don't you open it like, over there, away from us?"

You stare at him a moment, but Leo would never actually murder you, no matter how much he threatens to do it, so you shrug and walk over to the table where you previously left the cake. "Sure."

Everyone gives Leo nervous glances while he keeps a smile on his face, which isn't really calming since he has a very unnerving grin. You press on the switch, and from the bomb erupts a massive amount of colorful confetti that spreads all over the table and the floor.

"Ohhh fun!" You exclaim.

"Oh, thank gods," Leo mumbles, his shoulders falling with relief. Then he raises his voice. "See? Now it's a real party!"

Piper puts some music on and everyone gathers to get cake, and play board games, Annabeth comes back after two full hours claiming she was upstairs in the bathroom.

"It's lady stuff, Valdez, stay out of my business," Annabeth snaps after the boy tries to question her. "Anyway, happy birthday, Y/N."

She gives you a properly wrapped present—in the newspaper, because eco-friendly—and inside you find one of the books you've been dying to buy for the past year, hardcover and collector's edition.

"Wow, guys, I wasn't expecting all of you to have presents for me," you smile big, looking at all the cool stuff your friends gave you. "This is the best birthday ever!"

Everyone shares slightly guilty looks but say nothing, giving you a second round of hugs. Jason makes sure everyone writes down the date before leaving so this doesn't happen again.

Baby sister (Amber) just got to Chapter 49 which is Leo’s first POV chapter after being flung away from the Argo II by Khione.

We finished the chapter before that when Percy defeated Akhlys and is now facing Nyx.

She squealed when I read the name “Leo” for the next chapter.

I have never heard that kind of sound come out of her before.

Needless to say, she is loving The House of Hades.

Jason's eyes widened as he realised who this visitor was, feeling like he'd been thrown overboard and told to swim for shore. He was Roman and rarely met the Gods, but had done his research on the Ancient Greek myths, on the stories older than Rome by thousands of years. Poseidon was not a god to trifle with or disrespect, and Jason was convinced he was about to die. He'd let Percy fall after all, and the Lord of the Seas would surely want to kill him for failing his son.

For failing his favourite child.

Shortly after Percy and Annabeth fall into Tartarus, the Argo II gets a godly visitor.

Notes :

Okay first thing first, this is the first work of a series and you should most definitely read the whole thing. All of it is amazing. So many feels. So many comforts.

Second thing, this work I feel is a little intimidating. It gives off such a wonderful air for a mad god Poseidon. It makes sure that it is understood that God's have their darksides. That being said the same series not three works later Poseidon is kidnapping his kid because he misses him. the series as a whole can not be fully described in any single work, which is why while I am only officially reccing the first I suggest you read and appreciate all of them.

Thus work in particular really shows the love that Poseidon has for his son; while also showing how the other slightly less acknowledged demigods see the gods. If you want a deep read that really makes you think through tears of laughter than the whole series is for you.
