Oh no, those are holes! We've got this thing in Sovereignstuck where trolls will imprint on whatever raised them and develop physical traits from it upon pupating, there's a whole post explaining it (and some other Sov troll biology) in much more detail here if you haven't seen it yet. Tejuri was raised by a snake lusus, specifically modeled on a burmese python for the most part. The heat pits on snakes vary based on family and species, but the ones on pythons in general tend to line the upper lip.

(This is a ball python but it's similar for burms if you take a look at them.) On Tejuri they're non-functional, and they aren't shown in all artstyles (they likely aren't gonna be on her character sprite, for example), but she does have them. Tldr it's part of her being a snakegirl! It does kinda look like a moustache though.

i am 90% sure the answer to this question is 'spoilers', but why is there no bronze sign in the player group for sovstuck?

That actually has a lot to do with the NPCs… Or, the “Alpha Session” of SVURB. That Kromab, Argebi, was a Knight of Hope… Leading an utterly doomed session. She was more or less a symbol of there being a “missing piece” that basically marked it all dead on arrival. Total lack of harmony amongst those players in every sense, even down to their ages.

She was the Foolish Gold who thought she could make it work. Dense brick of Pyrite that she is.

Most of the crew is pretty unanimous with our opinions, and I'm much of the same, but it's a fun hypothetical! so here we go,

[ Tejuri Kromab ] Hell yeah! Granted our Southern-Hospitality might collide a bit, but not in anyway negative! I'd be interested in what she's writing just out of pure curiosity. I am sharing some sweet tea with her.

[ Presae Covnul ] Split. Doesn't know half of the electrical appliances I'd be using, and would probably tear them apart. But otherwise seems like a pretty chill roomie! Would make a mean soup that would cure me of all diseases.

[ Pardus Rubato ] Split. Would probably blare the music she's working on at 2 am. While the music in itself is impressive, but I'd be tormented with unwarranted AMV's every time I take my headphones off. But I must also consider that, 1. is kitty 2. PARKOUR.

[ Retris Morage ] Wouldn't Mind! Having a decent place wouldn't be out of the question, and a pretty nice guy once you befriend him! Probably would pester him with too many questions though given his knowledge.

[ Ajax Barrett ] I don't see why not! Watching shitty or good movies sounds like an absolute TIME with him, plus I'd like to take him to a rage room and absolutely Wail on a TV.

[ Emeric Sargas ] Split. We'd need an entirely separate ventilated room so I don't get attacked by fumes that could kill me, but otherwise would be a fun roomie! I think they'd be interesting to talk to, even if my brain would get melted a little. But I'm pretty sure it's already halfway there on it's own.

[ Kausat Stolar ] ...Split, but leaning on yes. Got the same interest of Weird Houses. Although he takes it a bit more... Seriously then I do. Would absolutely not go with them on a Abandoned House exploration, but would absolutely make him Worse by showing him the game "ANATOMY".

[ Tomiei Aerras ] Eeeehhhh...... No. She's hilarious, no doubt, but Hardcore Tiktok People scare me.

[ Annomi Errata ] Absolutely not. I think I'd knock him out cold out of pure reflex if he even breathed at me wrong.

[ Inaniloquent Commander - Inaco ] Split, leaning on no. On one hand, the garden would FLORISH. On the other, no leniency on rules would probably jack up my anxiety real bad.

[ Argebi Kromab ] Unsure... I'm sure she's wonderful, and the package deal with Khanda doesn't bother me too much, but it's a living situation where it'd drift more into "You do your thing, and I do mine". Can't really say for sure why!

[ Meseri Covnul ] No, but for my own safety & sanity. I'd like to keep my skeleton, thank you.

[ Khanda Morage ] Split. He'd tell me something Entirely Untrue, and the worst part is that I might believe him if I have no knowledge of the subject in the first place. Would be embarrassing in the long run. But, is hilarious, and probably plays a mean DND game.

[ Arsine Sargas ] Running so so far away. She'd get a wiff of my brainworms and use them to her advantage. No thanks. + The apartment would smell like wet cigarettes' 24/7.

[ Ochosi Stolar ] Split. High energy would probably get me pretty exhausted after a while, but in moderation would be pretty cool! Would give me near heart attacks though with the kinda stunts he's doing.

[ Dulvyx Errata ] Nope. Absolutely not. A thousand times no. Self Proclaimed "Empaths", scare me.

[ Atrisa Alrium ] HELL yes. Seems so sweet. And our grocery list would include a gallon of Women Respecting Juice. I wouldn't allow myself to get dragged to a bar, but small socialization events would be healthy for me I think!

Hello again! I wanted to ask about the Ancestors. Not the canon homestuck Ancestors, mind you, I mean… the Ancestors. What about them? Are they even important? What are their classpects? I’d love to hear about them. Please.

(I know think one’s a Knight of Hope, right? I mean those Ancestors, in case it wasn’t clear. And thank you, by the way.)

Ohhh, fun question!! More than happy to answer!! Your memory serves you correctly- there is in fact a Knight of Hope!

Fun Fact: Not all of The Ancestors in Sovereignstuck are present as NPCs! This is due to how and why they’re present in the first place- they exist not through Dream Bubbles, but as… Well, NPC figures on various Player characters’s Lands!

They’re there because they failed their session with flying colors- they lost Hope in their session enough to just give up. They’re essentially stuck in the game- being in the Player session purely because their own session’s servers shut down around them. The game’s AI liked them, despite their catastrophic failure, and decided to “reuse” them as NPCs, like a real DM would. The reason a handful of them aren’t present is because they died prior to the Server Shutdown. Those not present for the game are represented by stand-ins. Sometimes these stand-ins are Consorts, sometimes they’re something else.

The Ancestors are, in fact, actually important to the plot. This can be good… And really bad. They suffer from the same Death Brainrot that the canon Dancestors had. So, imagine the Dancestors… But plot important, and some of them have Command Centers similar to The Exiles. You know… Direct narrative-controlling devices? Ones that plant thoughts, ideas, actions, and plot points directly into other character’s minds? Yeah.

Anyways, here’s the list of Ancestors/NPCs that are present in their original state in the plot:

I know you said “amongst my OCs,” but the true answer is so easy that I can’t possibly decline stating it. So, apologies in advance for deviating from your intended formula here.

Khanda and Argebi have joint ownership of the Yaoi Paddle and battle for its usage regularly. How much irony is being employed in their long-term possession of such a cursed artifact is unclear.

Hoho! Fun question! Worry not, it works exactly the same! In fact, it actually becomes a major point of conflict in the story!

In the Player cast, our Knight is Presae Covnul, Knight of Void. She belongs to @octopeixes. She’s really fucking interesting. Go bother him about her. She’s holding the session together with marmite and duct tape.

In the Patron cast, we have Latula Pyrope, Knight of Mind, who is written by @scalematez! Latula is the leader of the Patron Team, whether she likes it or not. She’s very stressed about this, and does employ assistance for it. Go ask Scales about that! ;)

And finally, in the “NPC” cast, we have Argebi Kromab, Knight of Hope. She belongs to @scalematez. She has the most unfortunate classpect I’ve ever seen in my life. I love her so much. She’s a favorite of mine.

Oh man woah thank you so much for the interest!! I'm gonna put this info under the cut since it's long:

Argebi Kromab was a goldblooded troll born on early Earth C. Ever since she lost her lusus at a fairly young age, she tries her best to remain positive throughout situations. Unlike her descendant, she herself is not a psionic, and she never god tiered.

She is energetic, incredibly friendly and a bit dramatic. Argebi feels failure intensely and copes with her situations, trauma and growing insecurities by trying to suffocate them under a stubbornly positive outlook.

She will try her hardest to believe the best in people that may not even deserve it, and will try to paint the consequences as brightly as she can. This does put her in awful situations more than once. While the root of her hope is genuine, she feels the need to overcompensate for her failures and her energy can come off as overbearing (or just plain annoying, depending on who you're asking).

Argebi, along with the other 11 alpha session players entered the game long, long before our current cast. She took up a sort of leader role among the crew, but with how over-the-top she can be it was easy for people to not really take her or even the game itself at large seriously.

And when I say it was hard to take her seriously I should mention she was a LARPy gangly little 5'2" nerd in D&D cosplay at the time in a group of people that mostly didn't even really know her that well (sans her moirail, who she lives with), and she was trying to make anime speeches about friendship and hope and things that this group of hopeless players weren't all entirely sold on.

The more she overdid the Hope player "Believe in yourself, we can do this with the power of working together!!" thing the less it worked, and the less it worked the more she overcompensated. Taking on challenges she wasn't practically ready for out of sheer belief in the session's chance at success.

I find it worth noting that the presence of a Knight of Hope implies a lack of Hope existing in the overall session. The session was hopeless. In a sense, they were kinda fucked by nature.

With the fact that most there had no motivation to actually make game progress, no hope in succeeding, eventually the entire party failed by way of simply making no real progression. And when the game's server gave up on them and shut down, their data ghosts have been trapped in it since.

In the wake of failure and being eternally trapped among her peers (many of which now hate and resent her) she's become a lot more unstable. She's spent possibly hundreds of years in a Hell of her own making.

She has lost her sense of reality by the time the new session begins. And then, she gains access to a command center.

You see, after so long in such a hopeless, stagnant situation, seeing a team that actually has hope is overwhelming. A party that, while they have conflict, ultimately mostly care about each other and believes in each other. She wants to help them succeed, but that doesn't mean she's doing it right.

Though on one hand she does try to help them play the game, there's a part of her that is also living vicariously through the command center.

She IS taking it seriously, but her way of taking it seriously is entirely and fully disconnected from reality. She's treating it like a fiction that can be rewritten, and she's not exactly the best writer.

Her efforts are well-meaning, often misguided, and can be downright obsessive. She's entered the battle for narrative control swinging and for that she's earned an unwitting sort of antagonist role.

Somehow I forgot to answer this last one! So lemme get into that now, sorry for the wait anon!

Largely off the bat it depends on who's confessing to them in any of these cases, though I think that's a given?

I don't know what it is with Tejuri in this session but if I had a nickel for every character that's had a crush on her I'd have.... what, maybe at least 3 nickels? And that's all just redways. I guess that makes sense for a Rogue of Hope. There's a little part of her that loves feeling wanted too. Generally if you confess to her and she isn't, like, taken already she's down to go on some dates. If you're really extra about it that's just a bonus, she's a romantic little cheeselord, though it's not necessary per say. If she has to put someone down, she'll try to do so as politely as she can, but she won't budge if you can't take the hint.

Her Grandcestor, the Idolator, isn't too different, though she's even more chill about it. A little bit less of a romantic because, frankly, all her matesprit or kismesis relationships kinda tend to have the starting note of "this isn't going to be permanent". She's actively dying and that's assuming Voidrot kills her before the government or some highblood does. It's harder for her to accept a confession for that reason, unless it's someone she really knows well enough to know that they can handle her lifestyle and... her circumstances.

Argebi has been confessed to 3 times already and 2 were kind of unfortunate and toxic for her. Pre-death her reaction tended towards simultaneously making a big deal and not making a big deal out of it. She was always excited but wasn't entirely bashful about it I suppose? More like, she's just excited to be here. You would like to take the mighty knight out on a date? Then, a date it shall be! Back then she would plainly reject anyone she doesn't like though. Not in any cruel sort of way, she just didn't tiptoe around the truth much. Post-death though... a bit different. She became a bit more of a doormat, I'm half-convinced she classpect inverted or something. Her concept of being actually loved in that way has been completely messed up so by the time someone actually genuinely does it's a bit hard for her to believe.

I'm giving all 3 of them different answers as a baseline so there's no duplicate sins.

It's hard to assign with 100% accuracy but starting from the oldest generation to the newest.

The Idolator is (loosely) Wrath, mostly in the sense of a discontent towards those of high status. Not that much "wrath" though so much as justified violence. She isn't really a rage player per say (the exact opposite) but it's hard to assign anything else that hasn't already been taken.

Argebi is Envy and there's story-wise examples of this. Trying to insert herself into control of a session that's just cosmically more well-off than hers could be taken very much as a form of envy. After all when seeing a group of players that are actually trying to move forward and are actually getting somewhere with it? Sure she wants to help, but there is a level of longing for having had a session like that herself. She would've been set had she been on a different, more motivated team and she's envious of the one she sees on screen now, whether she admits it or not.

I find it interesting that some of the oldest symbolic portrayals of the 7 deadly sins have portrayed Envy with a snake, though that's coincidental to my reasoning.

Tejuri is.... I want to say this as carefully as possible. Lust. But without elaborating on the other common meaning of that (*coughs*), I want to clarify that the original word was actually a general term for desire that is not exclusively sexual. It's also been defined as an "excessive love of individuals" in some cases, such as by Dante, in the idea that "excessive love for man would render one's love of God secondary". Ultimately she would probably choose the people she cares about first and foremost if, for some reason, God was just standing right there and she had to fight him.

Snakes also get associated with lust sometimes so that's fun.

And here we have Tejuri, and Argebi! My fantroll and her ancestor (not dancestor, our fansession works a bit differently from the original so there isn't really any time paradox shenanigans), in the Hiveswap style. Rogue of Hope and Knight of Hope respectively.

Despite Tejuri being a psionic and Argebi being her ancestor, Argebi herself isn't actually a psionic. She's just wearing that getup because it looks cool.
