if i ever visit Romania (which is probably never happening), what do u recommend to do/or where to visit. LY SM BTW XOXO
you know, i wanted to make a joke about not coming here but on second thought, Romania is actually lovely for tourists, there are a bunch of picturesque places and it's a beautiful looking country overall
so, as you know, we're all vampires so we have the Bran Castle (Dracula's castle), always a classic. Then there are other castles like Peleș Castle or Corvinilor Castle with great historical importance which i love. Then there are a bunch of monasteries that are also very peaceful, very cottagecore if you will: the Argeș Gates Monastery especially has a really cool folk balad legend attached to it that used to scare the shit out of me as a kid, then there's also other attractions like the Bucegi Sfinx, the Howling Waterfall, SALINA CAVES etc
If you're more chill and don't want to go hiking or on an adventure, then there are always beautiful cities: Bucharest esp the Old Center region, Sibiu, Cluj-Napoca, Brasov, Pitești, etc... There's the National Opera House, the National Antipa museum, Art museums, or if that's too fancy you can always crack open a cold Timișoreana(beer) with the boys in the damp, poorly lit suburbs
#i'd be a terrible guide actually bc i don't like traveling at all it's exhausting#so i haven't been to most of those cities myself but my sister has and so u have her testimony#the only time I've traveled was during school trips#even that was a hassle i can't fathom enjoying this stuff but alas#i prefer walking aimlessly in random places#ask iztea

As Romanian that at one point watch NFCV, I'm angry at the show for various reasons, even for smaller things:
-The Church is Catholic. In real life, is Orthodox.
-The pronunciation of some cities like: Târgoviște, Brălia, Argeș etc.
-And even the map
How even the fuck Moldovia is that huge and the locations are so wrong placed:
-It's Bucharest/București, not Bukharest was the first mentioned in documents in 1459.
-Jassy/Iași, not Jassyo
-Braila/Brăila isn't in the territory of Moldavia as this map shows.
-And is Tamisvar/Timișoara, not Timesvar isn't in that in closer to Banat and Banat is a region, not a city.
If you aren't convinced with geographical positions and the name of the cities that I said earlier:
(This is a map of Wallachia, Moldavia and Transylvania during the Michael the Brave/Mihai Viteazu)
In Romanian translation for the regions:
-Valahia/Țara Româniască is Wallachia
-Moldova is Moldavia
-And Transilvania is Transylvania
#anti netflixvania#like how can i live in peace#when this stupid fucking show offended me as romanian#in all aspects#think god that i stopped watching the show#in nocturne the offended french; aztecs (for olrox); hungarians (for erezebt as an egyptian goddess or something)#this show is story line and antagoinsts are like for 13 years olds

So I watched Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame last night and I had a thought.
Notre Dame being one of the most famous cathedrals in the world, I'm curious if Nocturne is going to adhere to the rule of vampires not being able to set foot on holy ground and if so, will Notre Dame Cathdral will be used as a point of sanctuary for our heroes at some point?
Castlevania vampires burn in sunlight and fear the Cross, but the animated series is pretty vague on whether or not consecrated ground or a house of worship is off limits. We see the Night Creatures are able to enter the Gresit Cathedral easily enough (among other chapel settings in multiple games,) but Alucard confirms they are unaffected by sunlight in Season 4, showing they don't have the same limitations as vampires. Trevor also makes a joke about catching fire since he's an excommunicate, so the idea of someone 'unholy' going up in flames within a church is not unheard of here.
In Season 2, the vampires all question whether or not running water will harm them. This is revisited in the final battle when the undead Bishop blesses the Danube. (Which...is that still holding up? Is the second longest river in Europe completely impassable to vampires?)
As far as I've personally seen, the anime Shiki is the only series I can think of that addresses the holy ground rule, so I think it would be interesting if Nocturne made use of that lore. Plus, it would be reminiscent of the games' save rooms, which are often small chapels or confessionals where the enemy can't follow the player.
That said, there's no real guarantee if Notre Dame or any other specific church or cathedral will make an appearance in the narrative. Actually, I'm almost positive the building the above gif is supposed to be the Palace of Versailles, home of the French court. Which seems to have been overrun by vampires, so...really wanting to know what happened there if that's the case.
Palace of Versailles
Aside from some of the windows...Versailles, maybe?
The original series used real locations present day Romania like Târgoviște, Brăila, Lindenfeld, Dănești, and Argeș, so I wouldn't be surprised if Nocturne followed that pattern with the Palace of Versailles, Paris, and maybe Notre Dame.

So recently I've found out that I've been pronouncing the location of Romania wrong. Courtesy of @silverlakes for pointing out the wrong pronounciation ☝🏻 I appreciate you
I did some research and I think I got the correct pronounciation now (As stated by Google, that is)
So I'm gonna share it with the other non-romanians who wanna get it right;
So Târgoviște = "tere-go-vishte" but the "tere" part is pronounced fast.
Argeș = "are-jesh" (which I pronounced as "are-gesh" but that's dead wrong)
Brăila = "bray-ee-la" (again, "bray-ee" part is pronounced fast)
Gresit = "grey-sit" (pretty similar I think, except the "sh" is "s")
Styria = "stee-ree-a" (pretty self explanatory)
But yeah, I think that's it👍🏻
