Ares: I know.
Odysseus: We also know it's an unhealthy coping mechanism?
Ares: We're ignoring that fact as well.

Diomedes
Ok so this wikipedia article was a LOT more elaborate than I expected, I just spend over two hours going through it and making notes Nobody asked for it but here are my notes on Diomedes, theyre not consistent, i changed style and detail a few times, but alas here we go:
Diomedes:
strong defender of justice, deserves better
lost a lot of people
warrior very young
athenas favorite warrior
his fathers glory (and shame)
breast plate from haephestus
shield from his father blessed by athena
fathers sword
spear
boars, lion
most expiereneced warrior of achaeans
doesnt like achilles
brought 80 ships
Sthenelus, chariot driver, best friend, epigoni
youngest of the kings
(post homeric: offered immortality, divinified)
helped Odysseus kill Agemenons daughter
helped Odysseus kill Palamedes (bitch deserved)
brave, NOT haunted by hubris
wounds both ares and aphrodite (same day) and attacts apollo, but withdrew in time
granted divine sight to see immortals (on that day)
grew up way too soon
big battle when 14
more level headed than Ody (can take an insult)
doesnt hesitate to call out bs
“let him go or stay, the gods will make sure that he will fight” (hc: he tried, very humbled by the gods)
athena joined his fight once, driving his chariot and guiding his spear
“friends” with glaucus (trojan) (“i wont fight more immortals” “bro, our grandparents were bros”, “ok give me your gold armour, ill give you my bronze one”)
saves Nestor (ody runs away when he asks for help :(
wants to kill hector so he doesnt get taunted (Nestor says no, Zeus says no 3x /+1 lighting) he eventually turns back and gets taunted, he kills another guy
he attacks the trojans at night and wins, after hector boasted, in the end diomedes is the one worshipped as immortal
agamnenon wants to leave, Dio says hes a bad leader (yes), and that he’ll stay to fight the city that is doomed to fall, even with zeus fighting for the trojans, nestor says he has no better idea, proposed to appeall to achilles with gifts (ody and agamenon agree), they fail, Dio tells them “told you so” (but it doesnt matter anyway, theyll win)
he sleeps outside his tent in armour (they wake him n others at night for council about spies, Dio volunteers, he gets to pick a second, he goes for Ody, ody didnt rly want to go, Dio choose him anyway despite deserting him)
Dio and ody face the spy of the trojans Dolon, (hiding between corpses) he almost runs away but Athena “is fighting to be known” doesnt want someone else to strike first, so she makes Diomedes throw the spear and orders him to stop, Dolon tells them good gossip, including white horses, Dio kills him
they do some more bs, like killing people in their sleep (dio) and stealing horses (ody) dio considers unaliving more until athena suggests he may stop so other gods dont get jealous
both kings are good at being stealthy AND open combat
Rhesus horses are badass (first sign for the fall of troy), Dio gets them (bedding gift?), people without the horses and king leave W for the achaeans
Lord of War Cry
dio throws a spear at hector, apollos helmet saves him, but he mingles with the crowd, first time that Dio speaks back and calls him a dog (even the best men loose their temper at times)
Paris shoots his foot, (fucking moron blasts about it, Dio gives him a verbal lashing) he withdraws under cover of Odysseus, ody gets an ouchy
agamennon wants to flee (again), Dio tells them they should just let themselves get wounded again
Dio wins all funeral games of patroclus (though wounded) – Athena makes sure of it – draws first blood in the fight with Ajax, they stop him worried he’d kill him
Athena appears to him undiguised, Athenas favorite
kills some amazons, Achilles kills his cousin (who was a bitch), dio mourns him though and wants to have achilles punished
Dio and Ody bring Achilles son to Troy after Achilles death (bc they could not win the war without him there)
Ody and Dio sent to negoiate for peace after Paris’ death (by poised bow that the two of them stole?)
dio and ody gotta steal a statue of athena, ody disguises himself as beggar at night, dio follows later and brings the statue out
Ody tries to stab him in the back?? (to get the glory himself???) Dio catches it and ties him, and shoves him infront of himself, but refrains from punishing him because they need him (“for the greater good”)
dio is one of the warriors inside the trojan horse
dio leaves immediatly after the fall of troy (after the achaeans angered athena through the rape of cassandra by ajax the lesser) and arrives home safely (favored by the gods) Post Trojan war possibilities:
when he gets there his wife has commited adultery and keeps him out of town (palamedes brother having told he brought a different woman) aphrodite being pissed about the scratch helps her get many lovers, he has to leave again
gets kidnapped by some guy to get sacrificied to ares, gets saved by a girl
comes to the court of some other king who offers him his daughter as wife and lands, if he fights for them, so he does, and has two sons with her
he refuses to fight more trojans later on, he just wants to live in peace
birds haunt him and his men (his men cried so much over his death they got turned into birds)

If Odysseus was luckily bestowed demigod status after he died
And knowing he could easily take on Poseidon, Odysseus took the time to mess with him even more. After all, he was related to Hermes, the god of mischief. No one stopped Odysseus because he was kind of warranted this after the insanity he went through to get home.
Poseidon, Hades, Ares, Odysseus, Zeus, and Hera were having brunch together. Hera brought over another stack of pancakes for the group.
Hera: Ody, enjoy the brunch, but is Penelope not joining us today?
Odysseus: She's exhausted from last night, but she does love your cooking.
Hera: And I love her and you because you're a good man who doesn’t cheat on his wife.
Hera glared at Zeus before sitting down next to him.
Poseidon (scoffing): You act like he’s a hero.
Zeus: Not this again.
Odysseus: Let him whine again; he's still hurt that I wounded him with his own weapon.
Odysseus smirked, relishing the chaos he was stirring.
Poseidon (frustrated): At night, I can still feel the trident in my chest, puncturing my organs.
Odysseus (mocking tone): Oh boo freaking hoo. I made more use of it than you ever did, fucking idiot.
Poseidon (defensive): Hey, I’ve done serious damage to mortals, taken down fleets, made men fear me, and used the water as my body to do all of that! I am tough as steel! One human man was never an issue to me!
Odysseus (smirking): All I remember is you begging me to stop while I stabbed you with your own weapon. Then you thought you won our battle by making me a monster like you. I wanted to get home, you got upset because I didn't kill the son that from my new knowledge you never visited. Whatever makes you happy though.
Poseidon: You've heard legends about my strength and power!
Odysseus (after finishing his tea): Then I saw that you are powerful and have small penis energy and had to one up a human man. You know, like bitches do.
Poseidon (angry): I could dropkick your ass right now I don't care if other people are here! I don't give a fuck!
Odysseus (grinning): I can definitely beat your ass now as well. Want to test that theory?
Ares (intervening, amused): Uncle Poseidon, stop before he uses someone else's godly weapon on you.
Odysseus (snickering): You think he'd cry this time?
Poseidon (shouting): Okay, why is he here?!
Ares (nonchalant): Hey, leave my great-nephew alone. I invited him over for brunch.
Poseidon (exasperated): He’s not welcome here! I want him out of this brunch now!
Ares took a quick sip from his tea cup then placed it back down on the saucer. He was a God of War, but not lacking in good taste when it came to tea.
Ares (maintaining his composure): Those who want him to stay, raise your hands.
Ares, Hades, Zeus, and even Hera raised their hands causing Poseidon to shake with rage as the tides outside matched his enraged energy.
Ares (with a satisfied grin): You've been outvoted, unc. Sit down and eat your pancakes. You can fight him afterwards.
Odysseus chuckled, snatching a pancake off Poseidon's plate. The God of the Tides stood up and stomped out of the room in frustration.
Poseidon: I will be waiting outside!
With that, he left in a huff, the rage causing the tides outside to churn wildly for a few moments.
Odysseus (chuckling, mischievous): I'm glad that you welcomed me and my family to Olympus. This has been a fun time so far.
Zeus (pleased): Yeah, we all enjoy your company, and it's only been a year so far.
Hades (with a bemused expression): Honestly, anyone who makes either of my brothers this mad is always hilarious to me. Poseidon has a serious grudge against you, and it's been a long time since that last happened.
Zeus (shaking his head, incredulous): I can't imagine being that petty and holding a grudge for so long.
Ares (rolling his eyes): Dad, even I know that's a lie.

The Kingdom of Thornvale: Death of a Troll King
Sarenith 10th-18th, 4711
The Lords of Thornvale returned to their kingdom to reunite with Karis, bolstering their strength for what they anticipated would be dangerous days ahead. Saryn, riding upon his griffin, flew about the kingdom to warn everyone of the growing troll threat - even going out of his way to visit the small village of Simpleton.
Upon arriving in Haven, Saryn is met with a vigorous crowd listening to a well-dressed man speaking ill of the lords. The agitator, a gentleman named Grigori, freely stretches the truth and throws wild accusations at the Lords, stirring up the commoners and winning more than a few to his viewpoint. Cedrin the steward informs Saryn that Grigori has been in town since the beginning of the month, causing such trouble. While Saryn attempts to speak with the stranger, he discovers little, and instead departs town seeking to deal with the growing troll threat.
Reunited, the Lords head south, back to the troll lair they discovered earlier. Entering the old dwarven ruins, they find many slain humanoids - mostly humans, but elves, gnomes, and halfings as well. All the corpses appear to have been decapitated, and the bodies mauled and shredded; some even have been eaten.
Deep in the cave, they discover evidence that a kobold has been living here with the trolls, and after dispatching a single two-headed troll, the group finds the rest of the lair empty.
Fearing the worst, the group follows numerous troll tracks northeast, to a small lizardfolk village nestled on an island in the Murquee River. There, they realize that the Trolls have called upon their lizardfolk allies to bolster their numbers, and that the large warparty recently departed southeast - headed right for the village of Simpleton. Just before departing, however, the Lords hear the wail of a child! Karis, ever the stealthy one, swims and flies into the camp, investigating a dilapidated mud hut at the edge of the village. There, he discovers a small human lad, captive in a cage of reeds and mud. Upon freeing him, the pair are confronted with a ghostly bluish light in the shape of an old lizardfolk warrior! Karis, with the boy in tow, flees quickly, and the group leaves the growing commotion in the village behind. Saryn, seeking to reunite the lad with his family, discovers that the boy is Tyg - the missing child form Simpleton who was lost months ago! Realizing they could not fight trolls with a child accompanying them, Saryn flies off to Simpleton, hoping to return Tyg to his family. On the way, however, he spots the Troll warband on the shores of Candlemere, heading toward the human village. Hargulka, accompanied by several trolls, a party of lizardfolk warriers, and Tartuk, the purple kobold seemed bent on destroying the humans they considered a threat. Saryn helps Odis prepare the village for the upcoming battle, while the rest of the Lords march through the night towards the upcoming battle. As dawn broke on the 14th of Sarenith, the three forces collided! The battle, lasting mere minutes, resulted in the Lords being victorious, but losing one of their own - Armauk Blackstag fell during the battle to the vicious blows of a troll. Sadly, many of the warriors from Simpleton perished as well, taking the brunt of the initial assault. But Hargulka was defeated, his body burnt and lifeless; the troll uprising broken.
The villagers of Simpleton, tangibly aware of their vulnerability in this dangerous land and immensely grateful for the heroic actions of the Lords of Thornvale, decide that evening to rename their village Blackstag, to honor the fallen lord. They also ask to join forces, becoming a part of the fledgling kingdom to better protect all against the threats of the land. The Lords graciously accept.
Soon after, the Lords visit the Sootscale Tribe, delivering the head of Tartuk the Betrayer to the Chief, as promised. The Chief stays true to his word, and unites the tribe of kobolds with the kingdom of Thornvale, and is granted the title of Lord himself. From there, the Lords deliver the body of Armauk to the Temple of the Elk, and his brothers in worship. Jhod and Justynia, both saddened to recieve such news, prepare a simple yet touching burial for the brave priest of Erastil, laying him to rest in a nearby clearing. Gloritil Greyforge promises to carve a fine headstone bearing tribute to the servant of the Stag God.
Turn 11; Sarenith, 4711 AR (repost)
Petitions:
Cedrin the Steward reports that the Lords just missed the arrival of the Justynia, the paladin of Erastil, who had come delivering a letter from Jhod the priest to the Lords.
Upon arrival, Saryn notices the audacious speeches given by a rabble-rousing stranger. Cedrin the Steward informs him that the man - known as Grigori - has been here for several days riling up the townsfolk with stories of how the Lords have been failing in their responsibilities to the people of Thornvale, and attempts to silence him peacefully have failed.
Cedrin introduces Roy and Latricia Rezbin, two refugees fleeing the rising danger in Brevoy, seeking to begin anew. They claim to have scouted an area in the Narlmarches and desire to establish a homestead there. They are petitioning the Lords of Thornvale for aid and assistance in starting their settlement.
Gold Rush! The Council of Commoners reports a flood of new visitors in Haven; prospecting parties and the kind that follow them. These groups have been scouring the Kamelands north and east of the town, seeking more of the gold discovered earlier in the month. Several clashes have gotten violent. The Council recommends finding and securing the site before the problems grow.
Cedrin the Steward reports trade with Varnhold has exploded recently, With overflowing harvests of fangberries and moon radishes, Herr Brasse has been working nonstop making his famous drinks, which have been selling like wildfire to merchants and woodsmen alike. With this influx of trade and people joining haven from the Garess expedition, it may be time to think about expanding the village and adding an inn and other amenities.
Edicts:
You may issue one edict for the month of Sarenith
