HOLY SHIT
was no one gonna tell me there was a cinder spires novella coming out today!!!????
Well this is all I’m going to be talking about once I get my hands on it, I’m sorry in advance
From the synopsis it looks like is about Benedict before the events of areonauts windlass, now from that description you’d think it be about the time he went to habble risen and got stabbed but apparently we're going to the colony spire, spire Dependence.
The mere existance of colony spires does raise some questions which will probably be in a later post as this one is dragging a bit long as is for a book series 3 people have read

New OC: His Dark Materials
Name: Finn Linxy
Age: 29
Daemon: Arctic Fox; Name; Zarex (Shortened to Rex)
‘Job’: He is an areonautic explorer (I think that’s the term). He has his own hot balloon and him and Rex explore the north a lot. Then he is a pick pocketer. He sometimes goes to the college to present some of his findings or visit Rodger (his nephew)
Relationships:
Lord Asriel: Enemies to lovers but neither of them have expressed their love for the other (Their daemons do cuddle and get close to eachother though)
Lyra: Friends, he brings her small things from the north when he goes to the college
Miss Coulter: no
Rodger: His nephew. He also brings Rodger things and expresses to the two children how he will not bring them to the north but he will share his findings, notes, and other things with them so they understand the world as well.

Boeing partners with Tactical Robotics to develop VTOL tech
Boeing has signed a new agreement with Israel-based Tactical Robotics, an exploratory deal that will see the two companies work together jointly on “developing, producing and marketing” aircraft with vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) capabilities based on Tactical Robotics’ ‘Fancraft’ enclosed rotor technology.
Already, the Urban Areonautics-owned Tactical Robotics has developed ‘Cormorant,’ an autonomous flying car vehicle that has the footprint of roughly a Humvee, but that can take off and land vertically thanks to its Fancraft rotors. Unlike open rotors, these are placed inside ducts which provide advantages both in terms of directing airflow, and providing enhanced safety for anyone around the vehicle because they’re mostly covered. This new arrangement between the two companies will begin with exploring options for Cormorant in terms of production and deployment, for potential applications including disaster response.
The overall deal between Boeing and Tactical Robotics could be much broader-reaching, however, and includes development and exploration of both piloted and autonomous VTOL aircraft. This is yet another example of how the VTOL industry is heating up in terms of partnership, investments and productization.

@reignofolympus I finished writing up Reagan’s bio. Let me know what you think, if there’s anything you want to work on!
Her mother, Kara, is a DA, and her father, Neil, is an areonautical engineer. She was 9 when she went to Camp Halfblood- that was the longest Kara could hold out with the monster attacks. It was a hard time for the family because Kara had to explain what Reagan was and that Neil was not her real father. Kara had Reagan stay at camp that whole year as she and Neil worked through things. Reagan wasn't claimed at first, but it didn't take too long. She started exhibiting some abilities linked to Zeus and, after causing a small ligntening storm when she was told to stay at camp even longer, she was claimed by the king of the gods. She finally met Zeus during the Solstice trip to Olympus when she was 11. It was awkward to say the least. But, she didn't ask him why he hadn't bee in her life. Truth be told, she didn't care. She told him that she had a dad, but it was nice to meet him anyway. They had sporadic interactions throughout her life. She went on a few quests where Zeus complimented her on a job well done afterwards. She was grateful, of course, and actually pleased. But, neither really made a huge effort to have a true father-daughter relationship. It's hard to say whether her chosen career path was influenced by her mother or Zeus- both probably had a hand in it. Though they were not very close, Reagan did want to make her birth father, her godly father proud. So, upon entering college, Reagan began studying for a career in law enforcement with being in the FBI her ultimate goal. She finally became an agent at the age of 28.
