every few months the f1 fanbase tries to bring back the "you should think logically about the success and prospects of the driver you support" discourse, as if the whole point of sports isn't about falling into a rabbit hole and basing your happiness on the results of athletes who don't even know you exist. it's about emotion.

Why did it take this long for fandom to start being normal(er) about BigB btw? How come I'm finally seeing art of him and inclusion in fics now, after secret life, the series that encouraged people to actually watch multiple povs? I wonder why, now, BigB's personality is being represented as more than just double life angst fodder and/or guy who is so generic he can be placed in literally any scenario to act as any character type.

It's almost as if the mcyt fandom won't interact with or respect certain creators unless practically forced to. Huh. I wonder why that is. I wonder.

on the one hand, yeah, how you treat individual characters isnt indicative of how you treat real people.

but on the other hand, if you're consistently putting aside black characters, female characters, and transgender characters in favor of white, male, cisgender characters, assuming a cast of equal proportions, that is indicative of something!

The amount of times this jackass negs her is off the charts. Like this isn't even the first time and I'm sure it won't be the last. I remember being okay with this ship when I first played T&T, but I can tell you with certainty I fucking hate it now.

today's exam was good. restored a tiny bit of my faith in humanity

#that's what happens when a professor is a human being with emotions and understanding for another person #everyone is happy people pass or people will retake and pass on the retake #mr soil mechanics guy why can't you teach also other subjects #the durability of materials was a fucking joke #and PSB that i'll take on Wednesdays makes me unable to sleep at night #but it's the final boss it's the only thing that's left #the best scenario would be to absolutely obliterate the exam and get full points #gosh the satisfaction would be so amazing #but rule 1 of civil engineering studies do not be greedy when it comes to exams so a 3.0 will be perfectly enough for me #while i still remember i gotta do the surveys on lectures #i gotta write a whole asa essay on one guy in particular #dude failed my friend because she hadn't adjust one paragraph properly #and kept on being a sexist mysoginist and racist during the whole semester #fucking insane when after two girls ask where is one dude they have labs with he suggests they're looking for him to fuck #writing complaints probably won't get him fired but it's better than not doing anything

Fangirls obviously care about appearance but also about the "loyalty" of a male character. It's why it's ok that he treat the heroine they self insert in like shit, because they're still obsessed with her which is still attention

In romance I constantly see the second male lead being stanned not because he is better written than the first male lead but just because his character IS to be in love, so his only goal in life is to have the heroine, contrary to the male lead who dare have a life outside of her

At the end, it's just desire of being obsessed over by a hot guy, more he have nothing in his life than his obsession better he is

am I the weird one for saying my power fantasies never involve men apologizing for doing something disrespectful in the misogynistic way? You can misbehave on purpose, you can ask for punishment because you feel you did something wrong, you can even give permission for me to do some behavioral correction, but my personal fantasies just never involve teaching a man to be respectful because I'm a woman. Gender is separate from biologic sex and shouldn't be what defines any kind of roles...

#i think I'm not explaining it well #but sometimes i run into corners of the fem-dom that are so entrenched in traditional gender norms #and at least for now i need to back out of those spaces real quick #because being anti-sexist takes work #we live in a sexist racist likes-to-put-you-in-boxes society #and bringing that into the places i go to make me happy ends up ruining the fun #feminism #sort of? women are so decentralized in so many narratives i don't want to discount the “feminine worldview” part #but my thought process really feels more like anti-sexism #personal post
