one thing about me is that i love music and i listen to it all the time but i dont know a single thing about the members of the bands that i listen to. i might have seen pictures of a few of them, maybe know a few of their names. but like if there are multiple people in a band that sing? i can not tell you who sings what. i'm like totally blind to being able to identify who is singing/speaking if audio is not narratively driven i think.
#had this realization just now listening to tmbg#i probably know more of their discography than any other artist#i know its two guys named john. i've seen them.#are they both singing be honest. are they might be giants songs all sung by one guy or not i cant tell T_T#this is a skill i did not know i completely lack#.txt#deadass i was at a crane wives concert and had never seen a pic of them before#and it wasnt til partway through the set that i was like 'oh yeah there ARE different voices singing the different songs arent there'

Do you hear the Clones sing? (sad!)
I slobbered this down after I got inspired by “Do you hear the people sing” from Les Misérables. It is not written well since I was not feeling great while writing it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gYb9sRLUDyM
Major WARNING, folks: Major characters die, this does not end well. Absolutely not even remotely well.
The senate is already usually a very crowded place. But now it is packed with Clones. The doors behind the pods of the different senators open up and show thousands of identical faces. There are troopers and officers all the same shoulder to shoulder as they lay down their weapons to their feet and take off their helmets.
The chancellor interrupts the session and demands the Clones to leave again, but they stand there unwavering. One in blue armor and a blonde buzzcut lifts a fist and starts singing. "Do you hear the people sing" his voice is not beautiful, has never been made for singing, but it carries through the giant room like a battlecry. "Singing the song of angry men." Other soldiers lift their fist as well and join in. "It is the music of a people who will not be slaves again."
The voices get louder. More and more soldiers lift their fists into the sky. The grand chamber of the Senate begins to vibrate with every syllable of the song "When the beating of your heart echoes the beating of the drum" It's a frightening sight to see the soldiers fight like this. The way they laid down their weapons but still so powerful and dangerous "There is a life about to start when tomorrow comes."
And for a moment the republic stands still and watches.
The plazas all over Corouscant are flowing with marching soldiers. All colors no matter which battalion shoulder to shoulder a fist risen against the sky, and singing, almost screaming. Unpracticed but powerful. There is a child that bursts out in scared tears and hides behind her fathers' leg to hide from the scary men. There is a worried mother of 3 who pushes her awestruck children back into the house. There are a few teenagers who immediately recognize the melody. They shoot each other a few uncertain looks before they start marching. They rise both their wrists and start singing the loudest they have ever sung.
There are tears glistening on every soldiers' face. They stand proudly between the monstrosities that are the housings on Corouscant.
--
And then everything breaks apart.
The uprising falls as quickly as it has begun, the police drives them apart with brutal force, thousands of bodies already scatter the streets of Corouscant before the sun can set on the gruesome picture.
"Would the prisoners request to be blindfolded?" Cody smells the sting of blaster smoke and burnt plastoid in the air. There is a few drops of blood right between his feet. His stomach feels like it might turn over when he is shoved up against the wall. To his left is Fox with a nasty gash in his right cheek. To his right is Rex, face scrunched in pain as he tries to lean onto his uninjured leg. Cody himself is fine, almost, he is the one who watched a large group of the most proficient and experienced soldiers being slaughtered down right before him.
"DROP YOUR WEAPONS!", the police officer screamed, pressing the blaster gun against Cody's neck. The grip around his throat was turning all the senses from outside into while noise. The Ghosts had all their guns lifted against the officer, but the man knew too well that Cody was important and he didn't waver for a second. He screamed at them again and kicked into the back of Cody's knees, causing him to buckle over and fall to the floor. The Ghosts gripped their guns tighter and for a moment Cody almost expected them to shoot. The sound of blasterfire tore the air and green bolts shot from throughout all the covers around them. Cody let out a pained breath and squeezed his eyes shut as the first Ghost hit the floor, hands limp and lungs breathless.
"You can kill us", Cody calls out, "But you will never destroy us." - "Everyone of us", Wolffe shouts out, his mouth spraying thick drops of blood from his punched out teeth, "Would choose death over the life of a slave!" He has to pay for his unruly behavior with a punch into the guts that makes him fall to his knees coughing. "Others will take our place", Fox exclaims, quietly but still very much audible. The police droids in front of them lift their guns and align them with the imaginary targets that are painted on their chests. Rex chokes back a sob and Cody wants nothing more than to hug him and keep him close until everything is over.
"Aim!", the police officer orders. "KOTE!", Wolffe screams, "IJAAT!" - "MIRSHKO", Fox adds with closed eyes. Rex sobbs again and murmurs a soft, barely audible "Kote" as well. "Haat, ijaa, haa'it" - "GRA'TUAR", Fox calls while Wolffe answers with a half-broken. "IJAA"
"Fire!"
The impact on his chest punches every air out of his lungs and Cody staggers backwards. Rex goes down in a fluid motion, Fox lets out a painful, ragged breath before he falls against Cody and takes him down with him. Pain sears through Cody's lungs. It burns and he is unable to breathe.
He got killed because he dared to fight for his right to be free. He îs dead because he dared to think. To act on a foolish wish of living. What an irony, he thinks and closes his eyes to give in, And what a bad aim. They wanted us to suffer. He can make out the soft whisper of Rex nearby. "K'atini"
there is so many things Cody doesn't know
he doesn't know that their troopers are shoved together in their barracks and that the executions are livestreamed to every clone still alive
he doesn't know that everything the doors open every soul fears to be next
he doesn't know that the Jedi are locked away in their temple and wheep for the dying ones
he doesn't know that from afar Boba cries out in pain and desperation and calls for the spirit of his dad to make it stop
he doesn't know that backon Kamino the clone towers’ life support are being turned off one by one
he doesn't know that the sleeping cots in the dormitories are gradually filled with dioxide to extinguish every lifeform bearing them
-------
Mando’a tag:
Kote: Glory
Ijaat/ijaa: honest/honesty
Mirshko: courage
Haat, ijaa, haa'it: Truth, honor, vision - words used to seal a pact.
Gra'tuar: avenge/revenge
K'atini: Suck it up! Or: It's only pain!

Lyrics from ‘Coyote Stories’ by The Crane Wives.
Their music goes so hard and i need more people to appreciate them. Don’t expect me to post only quoteable lyrics, some of them just sound so amazing when they sing them so they’re in here too.
Keep You Safe:
The older I get, the more fears I collect. I gather them from all the people I meet.
The Moon Will Sing:
I could have been anyone, anyone.
I shine only with the light you gave me.
(both of them absolutely break my heart every single time)
Allies or Enemies:
The words I speak are wildfires and weeds. They spread like some awful damn disease.
Unraveling:
But now my love is gone and I can’t help the fracturing (one of the best parts in the song, ngl. i love emilees voice)
Hard Sell:
Does everybody have it together or are we all pretending?
I rip myself apart at the seams. I find one weak spot and start unraveling. Hoping I can find a better me. A fresh new start buried under me. (yes the whole verse)
Rockslide (i love how hard sell transitions into rockslide 147/10 will listen to again)
Drop dead sprint, my darling, now
Oh, the angels we may someday see. But we best get a move on, or the devil we will meet.
Metaphor (this one has so little lyrics but they go HARD)
I keep my closet free of skeletons. 'Cause I'm much better at digging graves. (makes me go feral)
The Hand That Feeds (its so hard to chose cause the song is ENTIRELY made of good, meaningful lyrics, absolutely amazing)
He taught me that the hand that feeds. Deserves to be bitten when it beats. (obviously)
I may never be a rich man, but I can make sure that I am free. I may never be a rich man. The rich man will never have me, never have me.
But as for time, as for time. It's mine, it's mine.
Little Soldiers
We didn't give up, we wouldn't dare surrender. It was an honest loss.
Sleeping Giants
The moon is humming, the moon is humming lovely melodies. The forest echoes, the trees are crowing hungry, hungry harmonies. (yes the whole verse(again))
My pulse is clear, rushing in my ears. I hear something calling me. (all of them are great but the last four repetitions? chefs kiss)
Of Everlong (i could and have listened to it on repeat)
JUST ALL OF IT. short and sweet, there are two verses and it absolutely slaps, but if i had to choose just one it’d probs be :
Out of the ocean, over the harbor. Lay no sons and lay no daughters. (the way its sung is just amazing)
Never Love An Anchor
There are times where I still wonder about you. You are someone I have loved but never known.
I am selfish, I am broken, I am cruel. I am all the things they might have said to you.
New Discovery (makes me want to cry, it’s so beautiful and a great song to end a great album)
I want to know that there are lands. Not yet touched by human hands. I want to be the one to find them. (easily one of my favourite lyrics from the whole album)
I want to believe there's something left for me. A new discovery waiting for me
I want to kindle a love that doesn't age
#the crane wives#coyote stories#i can and will do this for the other albums as well#i started with this one cause it's the first one i listened to and it has a special place in my heart#ill probs do foxlore next#idc if anyone is gonna read these but its fun

It just hit me in a flash that i never asked for your thoughts/rankings of the Cats 2019 soundtrack. Please forgive my ignorance and bestow the gift of your wisdom upon us
i have been caught in a whirlwind of events, which is why i have not responded sooner, but i’m currently home sick so what better excuse is there to wax evangelical (evan . . . jellicle??) about the cats movie soundtrack than this precise moment
i. jellicle songs for jellicle cats
i mean. well. first things first, it was recorded in advance (i assume that the 90s version was a live recording, but i could be wrong here) so of course it is going to sound awkward and stilted. this is nothing compared to how awkward and unnatural it is to see a bunch of actors naked save for cgi fur and ken-doll-like crotches singing and . . . uh, i think they’re dancing? -- around the white cat victoria, who did not have nearly so big a part from what i can digest of the 90s youtube clips. my favourite part has to be the fucking techno beat though. god damn. party on, you funky little abominations.
ii. the naming of cats/the invitation to the jellicle ball
yes, i will be smushing the exposition-related songs together unless i feel like separating them. this is my life, these are my choices. idk, it was fine?? i guess? munkustrap (aka The Main Cat Who Isn’t Victoria or Judi Dench and Quite Frankly Deserved Better Because He Was Giving This Performance His All) kind of just says the naming instead of it being a company-wide thing. they did not include bombalurina or demeter’s names in the naming, and this was the point at which i realised that the big name stars were not, in fact, going to lounge around in the background for the entirety of the play like they do in the musical. :(
the invitation also sees my Sweet Boy mr mistoffelees get his first solo line, which is good bc i fell in love with his sweet little face over the course of the film, and bad bc it marks the start of the absurd victoria/mr mistoffelees subplot which i am convinced was put in because of course a plotless weirdmageddon like cats needs a romantic subplot
iii. the old gumbie cat
something that needs mentioning is that idris elba shows up as macavity at various points in-between songs. i’m pretty sure he shows up for the first time here and like, tries to lure victoria away?? i think?? anyway it obviously does not work bc unfortunately we are stuck with victoria for the entire film, so onto the gumbie cat song we go.
what can i say about the rebel wilson song that hasn’t already been said. she unzips her skin. the cockroaches are uncanny in the extreme. there are slater-sized mice played by children. there is no funky tap routine, or if there is it was erased from my mind by the frequent awkward gaps in which rebel wilson attempted to be funny. dear god.
iv. the rum tum tugger
miiiiilllllkk
ok, ok, fine. jason derulo gave a fun, lively performance and didn’t even have the decency to do a bad english accent, which means there is at least one song which i have to genuinely like and can’t just like ironically. but also miiiiillllkkk why is there a milk bar in london which is perfectly cat-sized whyyyy.
v. grizabella
i am going to be honest. i think that this song appeared later in the movie, but the soundtrack only lists ‘highlights’ so it doesn’t appear in the track list. idk what to say. there are some girl cats (unnamed, although i think they have names in the stage version) who are mean to grizabella and then they say that she started working for macavity?? i’m not sure if this does or does not imply that he became her pimp, although he certainly has the coat and hat for it, which only raises more questions which i dare not put voice to.
vi. bustopher jones
fuck james corden. what the fuck did he do to the refined, fat old cat who frequents gentleman’s clubs and only dines on the finest stuff?? he made him dig around in the rubbish bins and interrupt the song twice to make ‘jokes’ about how fat he is. god i cannot fuckign stand james corden and i do not think he’s funny so i’m aware i may be biased but still. god.
oh yes and then at the end macavity lures him over to a giant bin (in full view of the other cats, might i add) and thanos snaps him out of existence, but sadly not out of the movie. rebel wilson also got thanos-snapped earlier i just forgot to mention it.
vii. mungojerrie and rumpleteazer
i understand that this melody is the original melody and that the melody used in the 90s recording was a change made for broadway; however, this was the most boring fucking song in the movie and they should have used the broadway version, good night. also victoria is there while they burgle the house, for some reason, bc having an audience surrogate means she needs to be in Every Fucking Scene, so that was a Choice.
viii. old deuteronomy
a nice, sweet song introducing judi dench, sung by munkustrap in such a manner that i began to wonder if he was like, her boytoy or something. also the nuzzling is, like, out of control. i know there’s nuzzling in the stage version, but onstage they're also all crawling around on all fours and stuff whereas here they’re bipedal most of the time. it makes it look like everyone is constantly going in for a kiss when they’re actually just being sociable, and it is fucking disorienting.
ix. the jellicle ball
by the way, the jellicle ball itself takes place in some sort of cat-friendly dilapidated theatre, and it is both the weirdest and least weird thing about this whole movie.
idk, it was fine?? oh wait, i actually forgot -- so waaaaay back at the start, victoria has a famous solo which wasn’t actually a solo in this version but danced with munkustrap, which . . . .was a Choice. so now she dances with like five different male cats, and it gets frantic, and Every Single Cat is just tearing it up on the dance floor, seriously the dancers in this are incredible, and then i think they all collapse on the floor in a heap, and it was at this point that i learned to be thankful i was not subjected to watching a cgi cat orgy while sitting next to my horrified sister
x. grizabella the glamour cat/memory (prelude)
like i said, i can’t remember what order this happens on the movie, so i’m taking the tracklist from the olc on genius. anyway victoria sneaks out for . . . reasons, and she sees grizabella. and grizabella is sad, and sings her song in the first person, because demeter got cut, because fuck demeter, i guess. oh yeah, and tom hooper, he of the masterful subtlety, had jennifer hudson sitting at a lamppost with withered leaves collected at her feet which she pointed to at the relevant lines. i’m surprised he didn’t add a sound effect of a moaning wind.
xi. beautiful ghosts
this was the song that taylor swift wrote for the movie and by god can you tell. it is incredibly jarring and serves no purpose (beyond, i guess, the purpose of deepening the nothing character of victoria), and -- ugh. look, it’s a pretty little song, and both victoria and taylor swift sing it well, but it’s thoroughly unnecessary. it’s like ‘suddenly’ in 2012 les mis -- why is this here??
xii. gus the theatre cat
i am not ashamed to admit that ian mckellen ‘singing’ gus the theatre cat was enough to bring a tear to my eye. because, well. the man may not have sung, but by god he acted. i challenge anyone with a heart to sit through all of cats and not even feel the slightest tug at their heartstrings when gus’s song plays. not even judi dench lifting one leg in appreciation could completely break the mood. oh wait. it did. (also gus got thanos-snapped by macavity immediately after exiting the stage)
xiii. skimbleshanks the railway cat
oooooh fuck YESSSSSS this is the single best song in the whole damn film. skimbleshanks himself?? wonderful. iconic. beautiful. his tap routine?? inspired. he’s skimbleshanks the railway cat -- the cat on the railway train! he inexplicably is wearing red dungarees, making him the fourth cat to be wearing clothes for no reason, and at the very end he spins like a top all the way into the air, before being thanes-snapped out of existence (but happily, not out of the movie) by.....
xiv. macavity the mystery cat
taylor swift is there. she’s undressed except for her cgi fur and a pair of stage heels. she starts tapping her little container of catnip over the collective of cats, causing munkustrap to make the sort of face you see reeve!superman make when he’s being poisoned by kryptonite, except that he is a cat being drugged with catnip and it is hard to take him seriously as a result. the song itself is a perfect guilty pleasure. taylor swift’s accent is shitty enough that you can enjoy the ridiculousness of the entire situation. idris elba cuts in to join the final chorus on ‘the Napoleon of criiiiiimmme’ and then he takes off his pimp coat and is . . . distressingly nude for the rest of the film. he dances briefly with taylor swift. it’s a thing.
anyway they thanos-snap judi dench to a boat on the thames bc she won’t let him go to cat heaven and the rest of the cats are left discombobulated. this is when Local Sadboy mr mistoffelees is uh, peer-pressured into attempting to magic judi dench back to the cats. bc mr mistoffelees has an arc now, you guys. and his arc?? is about getting his mojo back.
xv. mister mistoffelees
this song is also sung in first person by mistoffelees, which makes less sense when you get to the second verse, but whatever the movie only has about twenty minutes left let's just do it. it’s a solid song, but they keep pausing after every chorus to see if he can get judi dench back yet, which really dampens the groove that they have going on. anyway, they get her back, mr mistoffelees believes in himself now, yadda yadda yadda. meawhile back on the boat, this dickhead apparently didn’t bother to teleport the other cats back, so they fight their way out and rebel willson unzips her skin again. at this point in the cinema i was praying for mercy.
xvi. memory
memory was a song. it was clearly sung with a lot of emotion. for me, personally?? that emotion did not connect. sorry jennifer hudson. oh yeah also victoria has a verse in this song and i mentally wanted to s c r e am because this is not your fucking moment victoria, let the sad jennifer hudson cat belt her lungs out in peace
xvii. the ad-dressing of cats
god. let it end. let it end. this last ‘song’ was dragged out minute after minute after minute. judi dench looked into my very soul when she told me a cat was not a dog, and i still don’t know what she found there. when she started talking about cream and pie i could see munkustrap, he of the Giving This Performance His All, continue his impeccable acting by making faces of delight at her words. oh, munkustrap. even now, at the very end, you brought me joy. thank you, dear cat. thank you.

Casual (Kevin)
You and Kevin have been friends for years, but you two slowly drifted apart as Kevin went on his way to becoming an idol. That one random day, you suddenly hear some voices in your head, and it’s been giving you a headache since.
words: 1628
A/N: this is half serious and half not, WE’LL SEE. i also haven't’ done bullets in awhile, but i might just continue writing narratives bc i feel like i’m being too serious when i do bullet points.
also i’m sorry that i haven’t been posting any writings, and thank you for being patient!
You and kevin have been friends for years, yes
BUT
Kevin left and went on his way to be an idol
You ended up being in a band with a group of people that ended up being your friends
You played guitar
And let’s say you’re tiny
Bc i like tiny people
They’re the reason that you know about this soulmate thing
But you didn’t care
That might explain why you hear random noises
Sometimes screaming at like 3 in the morning
Sometimes it sounds like they’re yelling for their mom
Let’s say you’re fluent in korean
Thanks to family visits to kevin’s place and your bandmates
And let’s be real
You sorta forgot about kevin bc he’s gone for years
So you feel like the voice seems familiar but at the same time it’s not
You know?
You were just practicing one time and your head just
“CAN I GET A HOYAA!?”
You accidentally did a wrong note and it killed everyone’s ears
“ARE YOU GOOD?” your bandmates said
“NO.”
NOW TO KEVIN’S SIDE OF THE STORY
He’s was doing the flower snack thing
He was yelling so much
Whenever he does something, he yells for his mom
You know, the usual
Then he just yelled “CAN I GET A HOYAA!?”
And Hwall just answered
Dude
Then a random “NO.” popped up in his head
AND HE YELLED LIKE HE’S IN PAIN
“KEVIN WHAT THE HECK!?” New yelled
“SOMEONE JUST YELLED IN MY HEAD!”
“HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE?”
“I DON’T KNOW, TELEPATHY!?”
It took awhile until he started to work and get ready for the little restaurant
He ended up bobbing his head while no music is playing
Why?
Good question
“Why are you bobbing your head?” juyeon asked while laughing
“Is there no music playing?”
“No?”
“Guess it’s just me.”
He finds out about the soulmate thing after his first fansign after debut and everything makes more sense
But he also things it’s hella weird
A couple months later and you guys have done some performances
Most famous one ends up being ft island’s summer night’s dream
Which is a bop by the way
Highly recommend
Your long note is what EVERYONE LOVES
Even your bandmates make you do it bc of how much they love it
With time went by, your group slowly got popular, mainly for your covers
Whenever you do a busking, everyone’s literally waiting for you guys
Sometimes your fans get their before you do
And they’re really nice that they let you through to get to your spot
Also you’re the only one with a natural hair color bc you don’t want to destroy your scalp
Everyone likes to watch your group tune their instruments
The fact that you guys tune your instruments by ear and that’s amazing
You accidentally sang a note and everyone’s all
“WHOA.”
You’re just sitting there all confused
Little did you know that you’re singing Giddy Up by The Boyz
And that Kevin is in the group
Bc you’re not into kpop and your friends just wanted to do the song
And it fits with the instruments in a way
When you started, everyone was already cheering, even before the first line even started
Little did you know that the group itself was cruising along and ends up hearing a familiar tune
“What is that?” one of the members ask
“It’s a different song, jacob, don’t worry.” another said
Sangyeon of course
Then they see a giant crowd
Like what?
When the first line was sung, they were all shocked bc it was their songs
Like
SOMEONE KNOWS ABOUT US?
THEY LIKE OUR SONGS?
Ok maybe not like that but they would be surprised
Kevin heard it in his head too and he was confused
So they went to check it out
Which startled the fans, but they managed to get to the front and see who it was
They didn’t know you guys
Kevin’s head didn’t even click on who you were
They stayed there until their song ended
Then the bop played
Aka summer night’s dream
They seemed to like the song and the beat and they even clapped with the fans
Your group looked and noticed them and almost had a heart attack
But they kept playing
Bc you gotta continue with the performance until you’re done
You’re not nervous though, bc you didn’t even notice them
You did that long note and kevin just seems shocked
But then he realized it was your voice that’s been in his head
Still didn’t know that it was you though
After you’re done, they all cheered
Of course you hear a mix of voices, but that one voice sticks out to you the most
You just continue waving to your fans
“Y/N, how do you tune by ear?” a fan asked
“Just practice until you can memorize the tuned notes. Took me so long, but it’s worth it.” you smiled.
Kevin immediately dropped his jaw when he heard your name
“Y/N!?”
You looked over to his direction
Where did that come from?
Then you see someone waving his hands in the air
But at the same time how come they haven’t been trampled over
But also your fans are nice, they wouldn’t do that
You were confused on who it was
He ended up smiling at you and YOU INSTANTLY KNEW WHO IT WAS
Now you’re wondering
How did you forget about him?
Oh wait, because of practice
After you cleaned up, you immediately went to him
“HOLY HECK I HAVEN’T SEEN YOU IN YEARS!”
“SAME WITH YOU!”
“Dude, you left me though.”
“I’M SORRY!”
Then you guys talked non stop
“Also, do you know about the soulmate thing?” kevin suddenly asks
“What.”
“Soulmates.”
“What about them?”
“I think we’re soulmates.”
“Were you the one asking for a ‘hoya’?”
“M-Maybe…”
“Then we are.”
“HOW WOULD YOU KNOW?”
“YOU’RE THE ONLY PERSON WHO WOULD LITERALLY DO THAT.”
“You’re not wrong…”
Now let’s skip to the part where you two are actually a thing
Ok so we all know you two are a thing
But you two more act like you’re best friends
You guys play fight
Then you guys would just chill
Cuddles?
Casual
Kisses?
No thanks
Kevin’s too awkward for kisses and so are you
When both of your groups hang out, they’re mainly focused on your instruments
And you two are only interested in chilling together
The only person you trust with your guitar is jacob bc he wouldn’t do anything that will damage it
Honestly, you two look like parents watching over kids
Too many kids
Whenever jacob was done, he would return it to you and you would play some notes
Kevin would touch some of the strings
Sometimes you would hit him because you were afraid that he’s going to break one
“Do you not trust me with your guitar?”
“No.”
“Y/N PLEASE.”
Of course you were only kidding
Both of your groups would ask the same question
“Did you guys kiss yet?”
“No???”
“??????? why haven’t you guys?”
“We don’t want to????”
“WHAT’S WRONG WITH KISSING?”
“IT’S G R O S S”
Honestly you guys are just being kids
You guys even treat kissing on the cheek as if you’re kissing another member
Everyone literally tried to get you two to act like a couple
BUT YOU JUST CAN’T
Insert the moment you kissed him on the cheek
CUE THE HIGH PITCH SCREAMING
HIGH AND LOUD ENOUGH THAT YOUR BANDMATES COVERED THEIR EARS
“SHUT UP YOU GUYS ARE LITERALLY DATING?”
“SHUT UP YOU’RE LITERALLY SINGLE??”
“SHUT UP??????”
Literally when are you guys ever serious about dating
To be real, kevin would probably follow you everywhere
But he knows his limits of course
Why hold hands when he can just cling onto your arm?
Why do just that when he can also hold your hand?
He also seems like the type to go to the arcade but watch you play the games instead
Seeing you happy and excited is the best thing that he had dealt with
When you win something, you’d give it to him
“But you won it?”
“But you didn’t do anything?”
“But you deserve it?”
“But I got it for you?”
“But-”
“Just take it”
“Ok”
To be honest, people wouldn’t even know you guys are dating
They just think you guys are just idol friends
You guys would go on night walks, possibly with a camera to video you both
But also an actual camera bc you love taking pictures
Sometimes kevin will just look at the sky and you would just take a picture
And BOY DOES HE LOOK STUNNING
Kevin would also take selfies on both of your phones
Since he’s the taller one and he purposely makes you look short as hell
That’s when you kill him
After your walk, you would go to the cafe
Those that are somehow still open
He’d call you basic for ordering a simple drink
You’d call him a coffee addict and he wouldn’t be sorry about it
Let’s be real, if beyonce was played in a store, he would start dancing
And you would just leave him
Especially in a store
Whether it’s a grocery store or a mall
He’d just yell your name
And you just raise your hand and in an instant he’s already clinging onto your torso
Like d u d e
He’d buy you lots of gifts and take you anywhere
Or let’s you drag him around places
You guys holding hands will probably be the most romantic thing you guys have done without screaming
Sometimes he kisses the back of your hand aka the only affection that you guys don’t scream at
Just
You guys are hella adorable

“Calm down, Virgil, I’ll make sure it doesn’t,” Roman soothed, though it was clear by the way his fingers twitched towards his sword holster that he remembered that incident very vividly and he was nervous about it happening again.
See, Roman wanted to go back to the mindspace again, for another grand adventure. However, Patton (and Virgil) demanded that everyone go with him, to make sure no more severe injuries happened.
However, trying to get six people into his own fairytale world wasn’t as easy as he’d previously thought.
On the way, Roman had lost focus- and got them dumped in a forest.
Not the worst place to be dumped, if Roman were to be honest. They could have been dropped in the Lava Zone of his mindspace.
The forest was quite pretty, he wasn’t sure what they were all worried about. The trees were tall and lush, a soft, cool breeze rustling the green leaves. The light on the leaves made the forest take a golden/green glow, casting dapples of light on the forest floor, which was thick with ferns and weeds.
Accompanying the sound of leaves rustling, birds sung their songs in the distance, and a woodpecker tapped at a tree in time, as if providing a beat for them to sing to. Roman saw a deer in the distance, casually trotting through the bushes and occasionally stopping to nibble at a flower. A family of squirrels chattered to each other in a nearby tree, dropping acorns onto the ground, thunking against a fallen tree trunk.
Taking a deep breath in, smelling the cool, damp air, Roman smiled. He wondered how he could have managed to stay away for so long.
Thomas joined Roman in looking around, while Patton tried to soothe Virgil’s rising anxiety, and Logan.. Well, Logan was paying more attention to the fifth Side, who no one else knew was there.
Deceit had shapeshifted into an actual snake, scales sleek and black, shimmering in the golden rays of the sunlight, piercing yellow eyes staring right back at Logan, as if silently asking his boyfriend what they should do.
Logan knew that Deceit definitely shouldn’t take on human form around the others- especially Virgil. The poor Side was anxious enough as it is, seeing Deceit might just drive him to the point of no return.
Logan shook his head, silently telling the other they’d discuss it later, and lifted his arm towards the treebranch Deceit was coiled around, allowing the snake to slither up his arm and in his sleeve, tucking himself into Logan’s shirt, so he could still be with them and be well hidden.
“Well! I suppose we should go looking for my Kingdom, then.” Roman declared, pulling his sword out of its holster and raising it in the air, watching it shimmer and gleam, as the rays of light reflecting off the sword slowly game together to point in the direction of Roman’s castle.
“What is this, Shadow of The Colossus?” Virgil muttered under his breath when he could manage to speak again, his anxiety soothed for the most part, but he was still really tense.
“Shut up,” Roman huffed, tucking his sword away once more. “We have to go North!” He exclaimed, pointing in the direction he said, then starting to walk.
“Roman, kiddo, that’s West-”
“That’s what I said.”
It’s only been an hour and quite frankly, Logan couldn’t handle it anymore.
It was too.. Illogical, here!
There were weirdly colored butterflies (seriously, why are they rainbow?), deer with wings, dragons, etc., and it was just- all too much for him. He felt like he was about to explode.
“Roman, can we stop and rest?” Virgil whined for the umpteenth time, “My feet hurt and I need a nap and-”
“Yes, Virgil, we get it, you’re suffering.” Logan muttered under his breath, tuning the Anxious Side out. He felt the lump beneath his shirt squirm, and he gently prodded at it, silently telling Deceit to stay still, but he knew he was also getting restless. Even Roman seemed to be getting tired.
“I can see the shadow of the Kingdom over there, though!” Roman exclaimed, pointing his gleaming sword towards the hills, where they could, in fact, see the shadow of Roman’s castle.
They had managed to get just outside the forest, walking along the edge of the trees. The sun was high in the sky, hot and beating down on them, making it hard for them to escape the shade of the forest. Even the cool breeze blowing past didn’t help much.
The sky was a vibrant blue, no cloud in sight. The wind rustled the leaves of the trees and sent a couple gently floating down in front of them as they walked in the direction of the castle, keeping close to the forest just in case the sun got too unbearable.
They passed the area where Virgil and Roman had been attacked a while ago, which had made them quicken their pace so Virgil wouldn’t get overwhelmed by his anxiety, and they were on edge, waiting for something to happen.
Everyone was tense, always glancing around themselves and jumping at every little sound. Patton’s hand had brushed against a fern and he’d screeched, clinging to Thomas and refused to let go since.
So when they heard a distant roar, everyone froze in their tracks, and paled instantly.
Virgil immediately slammed into Roman’s side. “Into the trees. Now. We’re staying in there until we absolutely have to leave.”
“But Virgil-” Roman tried to protest, but Virgil didn’t let him- and Patton didn’t, either, both the Anxious and Moral Sides pulling the others into the trees to hide, hearing the sounds of screeching roars grow steadily louder as the dragon drew nearer.
“Why are there so many dragons in this place, Roman?” Thomas angrily whispered, though it was more out of fear than anything else.
“I don’t know!” Roman replied honestly, letting himself be shoved into cover this time, “There usually aren’t this many..”
“Well that’s comforting.” Virgil snapped, “Why do you have to wear white and gold? Do you know how easy it is for a dragon to spot your flashy bright colors?”
“Well I’m sorry, I-”
“Roman, Virgil, now is not the time.” Thomas snapped, sinking into the ferns as a dark shadow flew overhead, an ear-splitting shriek filling the air.
“Oh, no, no, no, no, no,” Patton continuously mumbled under his breath, trembling nervously as he watched the shadow move on the ground in front of them. The dragon itself wasn’t yet visible, but the shadow alone was enough to make Patton want to cry.
Logan caught the glint in Roman’s eye, and he gripped Roman’s sash.
“No. You are not going out there.”
“But!” Roman protested, “If I don’t deal with it now, it’s going to attack my people!”
“That’s what you said last time!” Virgil exclaimed in outrage, “And you nearly died!”
“I’m more than willing to give up my life to protect my Kingdom.” Roman replied, and the ground shook as the dragon finally landed in the open area in front of them.
It was large- smaller than the one Roman and Virgil had faced, but it was still massive. Presumably male, if its size and little muscle was anything to go by.
Its scales were black as coal, but they were patchy, only sections of the dragon covered in the black, hardened scales, the skin underneath a vibrant fiery orange. The dragon’s body was long, black spikes running along its spine, from head to tail-tips. Said head was also small, snout long and thin, black billowing smoke coming from the nostrils.
Giant, black horns curled out the dragon’s head, matching the look of the spikes that grew out of his haunches, pointing towards his tails.
Speaking of tails, this dragon in particular had two long, thin tails, swinging rapidly back in forth to express his agitation, one of them curling around its large feet, massive, pointed claws picking at the ground.
Malicious red eyes caught sight of a gleaming in the forest, Roman’s sword still reflecting light, and the dragon swung his head around to face the group hiding out in the trees, lip curling to reveal rows of sharp teeth, more smoke puffing from its nose. Large wings fanned out threateningly, thin, orange skin of the wings slightly torn.
“Roman..” Virgil growled under his breath as he felt Roman’s muscles bunch beneath his hands that rested on his shoulders.
Logan, distracted by the sight of the massive dragon, loosened his grip on Roman’s sash, and allowed the Creative Side to lunge out into the clearing, sword rose high in the air and dashing towards the foot of the dragon.
“Roman! No!” Virgil screeched, making a move to follow him. Patton and Thomas grabbed onto the Anxious Side, yelling at him to stay still, but Virgil fought their hold- slapping at the two and stomping on their feet in his desperation to get them to let go, let him go stop Roman. “Let me go- Roman! Get back here! Roman!”
Roman either couldn’t hear him, or ignored him, and he dashed towards the dragon with his sword raised in the air, boots slipping on the ground and causing him to lose balance, plunging the sword into the dragon’s foot.
However, Roman didn’t realize that, as a fire dragon, it’s veins flowed with lava instead of blood, so when its skin began to bubble and he pulled his sword out to it being melted to the hilt, he realized he’d made a grave mistake in attacking.
Roman gave up with the sword, tossing the hilt of it elsewhere as he climbed up the dragon’s foot, ignoring the screeching whines of the creature from being stabbed, avoiding the leaking lava-blood as he grabbed a hold of the patchy scales and used them to pull his way up, climbing up the arm.
“Do you use the same fighting tactic for every dragon you fight, you idiot?” Virgil hissed, giving up on trying to struggle against Patton and Thomas’ hold, falling limp in their arms.
Logan watched in silence, Deceit’s head peeking up through the collar of his shirt to watch the fight, too, staring at Roman as he struggled to climb up the dragon’s body, which was much more difficult with the patchy scales and the creature’s extremely hot skin.
“What is he trying to do?” Logan mumbled. Roman didn’t have any sort of weapon. His sword was melted, what could he possibly do to this creature?
Roman, despite the dragon furiously shaking and raising his feet to scratch at the area Roman was to get him off, managed to get atop the dragon’s head, gripping its horns. Pulling out a smaller dagger he’d kept in his pocket, he jammed it into the ridge of its horn, and managed to crack it, splitting the horn in half. The dragon let out a loud, pained cry, rearing up on its hind legs and flapping its wings. He shook his head and lifted a front foot, claws digging at its horn to try and peel Roman off of him.
Roman lifted his foot, kicking the split part of the horn, and the dragon hooked its own horn with its claws, and ended up ripping his own horn off, the broken end falling to the ground.
Roman tried to hold on, but the thrashing of the dragon’s head was too much, and he fell, the creature’s wing swinging around and smacking into Roman, sending him flying towards the ground.
Roman choked out a small, breathless cry when he smacked painfully into the ground, and Logan tensed, not feeling Deceit slowly slither out of his shirt and away from the group, instead going up a tree, eyes narrowed in concentration. Deceit had a plan.
Thomas and Patton couldn’t stop him this time, and Virgil sprinted, ignoring the surprised and worried yells for him to come back.
Virgil bent over and grabbed Roman, lifting him into his arms, and rather than trying to fight the dragon itself, he ran back to the trees, clutching the Prince close to his chest. He refused to do this again. They were going to flee, whether they wanted to or not.
As soon as Virgil made it back, though, a second loud, screeching roar arose from above them, and Logan’s eyes stretched wide in surprise as a second dragon came crashing down right on top of the first.
The new one was bigger and bulkier than the fire dragon, scales shiny and black as night. Its underbelly, eyes, and thin skin of its wings were a vibrant shade of gold, sparkling as the sun hit it, almost like glitter.
While the others were confused, because this dragon was incredibly plain compared to the others, Logan felt his heart stop.
Deceit.
“No!” He immediately shrieked, much to the shock of the others, and Logan felt his feet move but his mind was still frozen in shock, trying to lunge towards the two creatures. He vaguely felt hands grip at his arms and pull him back, refusing to let him go, but he didn’t know who they belonged to. His mind repeated the same thing over and over again.
Deceit, Deceit, Deceit, Deceit, Dol-
Logan let out another cry when Deceit attacked, raising his massive foot and stabbing his claws into the fire dragon’s eyes, seemingly ignoring the painful burn of the boiling blood scorching his claws and scales.
The fire dragon screeched, swinging one of its tails around and hooking a spike into Deceit’s wing, ripping at the thin skin and tearing it apart. While Deceit let go of the other’s face from pain, roaring and whining, the fire dragon took the distraction as a chance to make his own attack, snapping his jaws at Deceit and clamping his mouth around his neck, standing on his hind legs and forcing Deceit to lift himself to his hind legs as well, wings flapping in an attempt to keep his balance, front feet scratching and ripping at the dragon’s face in a weak struggle to get him to let go. His own large, clunky tail swung around and smacked at the other’s feet, trying to knock him off balance and let go of his throat, but he couldn’t manage to do so, only resulting in the fire dragon digging his fangs harder into him.
Deceit lifted one of his massive paws and dug his claws into the other’s head, putting force on his horns and cracking it even more, the severe pain making it roar and let go of Deceit’s throat.
Deceit backed away a bit, regaining his balance on all fours, breathing heavily, before he dove right back in, slamming into the other and shoving it into the ground, feet hitting the other’s belly and pushing his weight into it, trying to break bones the best he could.
The fire dragon screeched, then opened its jaws wide, and a cloud of smoke was Deceit’s only warning before large, hot flames burst into his face and body, burning his scales and skin.
Deceit didn’t let the flames licking at him bother him, continuing to use his claws to rip and tear at the fire dragon’s skin despite the burns and the slices from the other’s own claws scratching at him.
Logan watched the whole thing in utter horror, eyes stretched wide as he gazed at his boyfriend getting hurt so he could protect Roman and the others, and he distantly heard choked sobs- maybe from him, or someone else, he wasn’t sure- past the sounds of pained, aggressive screeching and roaring, Deceit’s skin bubbling with blisters from the fire.
“Stop it!” Logan heard himself scream without realizing it, “Get back here! Stop it!”
Instead of stopping, Deceit dove his head and clamped his teeth around the other’s throat, but he realized his mistake a second too late- the fire dragon rolled them over, slamming his body into Deceit’s and forcing them to swap positions, wings flapping in an attempt to take the fight to the air, where the fire dragon would have an advantage over Deceit.
Deceit screamed again, lifting one of his feet to stab into the other’s eyes once more, this time managing to rip them from their sockets, successfully blinding the creature.
At the loss of sight, the fire dragon finally let go, releasing Deceit with a startled screech, followed by pained whimpering, and it admitted defeat, wings beating hard and sending harsh gusts of winds to blow across the area, flattening the grass and rustling the leaves on the trees, lifting itself into the air and clumsily flying off.
Deceit laid there for a second, before his body began to glow, slowly taking shape back into human form.
Logan took advantage of the other’s shocked state to shove away the hands of whoever was holding him back, and he bolted, running straight into the battlefield, approaching Deceit’s worn, wounded body.
Logan fell to his knees next to the other, taking in his appearance. Deceit was missing his gloves, hat, and cape, his shirt and pants ripped up severely, soaked with blood from the deep gashes in his body, as well as severe burns all over his face and torso.
“Deceit? Deceit?” Logan repeated desperately, raising a hand to the unburned part of Deceit’s face, stroking his hair. “Deceit?” He tried again, but Deceit didn’t respond- he was hardly breathing.
“Dolion Sanders, please,” Logan choked on another sob, vaguely hearing thudding as the others came running up to join them (other than Roman, of course- Virgil was carrying him).
“Deceit?” Thomas managed to get out in his shocked state, but Logan didn’t let anyone question it any further.
“Help him!” Logan demanded, lifting his gaze to the Sides, “Do fucking something!”
“H-Hold onto me,” Roman managed to get out, coughing weakly into his arm, “I can.. I can use the magical energy leftover from the dragon and take us to the Kingdom.”
Logan didn’t even bother trying to question it, he lifted Deceit into his arms, wincing at the other’s pained groan from Logan touching the wounds, and he grabbed a hold of Roman- and sure enough, in the blink of an eye, they were suddenly standing inside a city in the Prince’s Kingdom.
Predictably, the people flipped. Their Prince, as well as his family, had just appeared in their city, severely injured, and one of them near death.
“Prince Roman!” Cried one woman, who immediately ushered the group to the nearest hospital, not bothering with introductions or asking what’d happened. They approached a strangely modern-looking building, tall and white, covered in windows to what Logan assumed was hospital rooms. Actually, now that he was in Roman’s Kingdom, it was all modern. It didn’t look.. Skyrim-like, like he’d assumed it would. It just looked like a big city.
Thomas, Patton, Virgil, and Roman walked through the hospital doors without a fuss- but Logan and Deceit were stopped.
“I’m sorry, but.. We were given direct orders from Prince Roman not to let him in.” A kind lady stopped Logan, clearly referring to Deceit when she’d said ‘him’.
Logan watched the others continue to be ushered into the emergency room, not realizing they’d just lost two of their group, and Logan felt his blood boil with rage.
“He’s almost dead! Who gives a fuck what Roman said?” Logan snapped, “This is a hospital, isn’t it? Help him!”
“I-I’m sorry, sir,” The woman stammered, but Logan didn’t let her finish.
If she wouldn’t help him, he was going to find some place that would.
Logan turned on his heel and left, clutching Deceit tight to his chest, leaving the hospital and jogging down the cobblestone sidewalk. Surely, he could find another hospital somewhere here-
“Prince Logan!”
The call stopped him in his tracks.
Logan turned to face a short girl with long, blonde curly hair, big brown eyes staring up at him. “Prince Logan, I can help Prince Deceit- just, we have to hurry to my home. He.. might not have much time left.”
Logan decided not to question why he and Deceit were being referred to as Princes, or who this person even was- He just wanted help for his boyfriend and he wanted it now.
“Lead the way.” Logan got out through gritted teeth. His heart was pounding and it felt like his lungs were being crushed, anxiety overwhelming him. Is this really what Virgil went through daily? He’d have to give him a hug or something next time he saw him. He didn’t know how he did it. He had a new level of respect for the Anxious Side.
Logan looked down at Deceit, laying limp in his arms, and he felt the lump in his throat grow. What if they were already too late? What if he died- because he wanted to save Roman? Of all ways Deceit could have died, Logan never thought that would be one of them.
Suddenly Logan was jerked out of his thoughts by Deceit being taken from his arms, and he realized he was standing inside a house.
“Where are you taking him?” He demanded, feeling a rush of protectiveness fill him.
“Cleaning his wounds,” The girl replied, “Sit down, please.. This shouldn’t take too long.” She promised, carrying Deceit into what Logan assumed was the bathroom.
Logan let out a breath, and he walked towards a nearby couch. He didn’t bother to take in his surroundings, he suddenly felt exhausted and he needed to sit down.
Sinking into the couch cushions, Logan pulled off his glasses and rubbed his eyes. He forced himself to relax, letting out a sigh and dropping his hands to his lap. He was going to let himself calm down for a couple seconds.
Logan slowly opened his eyes, a sleepy groan leaving him as he woke.
He didn’t even realize he’d fallen asleep. He must have been really tired.
Straightening his back, and wincing at the stiffness in his neck, he blinked away the blurriness in his eyes, and saw, on the couch across from him, Deceit sitting up and dressed in his clothes, but they weren’t torn up like they had been. His face didn’t have any wounds (other than a small scar under his right eye), but Logan could see where a massive burn scar travelled from his neck down, no doubt covering a fair amount of skin on his torso. His face was also lacking its usual scales- he must have them hidden so he could speak freely without lies clouding his conversations.
“Logan, you’re awake.” Deceit smiled, taking notice of the other studying him, “You were out for a couple hours, I was starting to get worried.”
“I’m going to kill you for almost dying,” Logan threatened, but with his voice still deep from sleep and slightly slurred, it wasn’t all too intimidating.
Deceit chuckled. “Okay.” He replied, standing up slowly, visibly flinching as his clothes pressed against his wounds, making his way towards Logan and sitting next to him.
“How are you healed? And your clothes..?” Logan questioned, leaning lightly into Deceit’s unscarred side.
“The girl who lives here? She’s a witch. Used to be a doctor in training but quit. Exceptionally skilled with her healing magic, and she used her magic to patch up my clothes, too.” Deceit replied, lips pressing to Logan’s hair.
“Oh..” Logan hummed, shoulders slumping. “.. You worried me, you idiot.” He muttered, “Don’t do that again. Please. You scared me so bad, I-I-” Logan began to get choked up again, trembling at the thought of Deceit actually dying.
“I won’t,” Deceit promised, “Or, I’ll try not to. That’s a promise.”
Logan decided that’s about the best he was going to get, and he was still too tired to argue, so he dropped it for now, letting out a huff. “Speaking of the girl- where is she?”
“Left, she has duties. She said we can leave whenever.”
“Are you able to walk okay?” Logan asked. He would prefer to leave as soon as possible, but if Deceit couldn’t walk very well, he wouldn’t make them do so.
“Of course I can,” Deceit replied, taking hold of one of Logan’s hands, and shakily standing, silently urging Logan to do the same with a quick tug of his hand.
Logan was quick to follow, hand instinctively resting on Deceit’s back to hold him steady just in case he really couldn’t walk good. “Dolion-”
“I’ll be okay, Loganberry.” Deceit cut him off, “Okay?”
Logan frowned at him, but gave in. “.. Okay, Lio.”
And as they walked out the front door together (Logan still holding onto Deceit’s hand just in case), the first thing they saw was Thomas, Patton, Virgil, and Roman petting some stranger’s dog.
Logan shook his head, letting out a heavy sigh as he led Deceit towards the others, lacing their fingers together. It was still a little strange to hold his hand when he wasn’t wearing his gloves.
“Logan!” Patton exclaimed, immediately abandoning the dog to run to Logan, lunging at him and attacking him in a hug.
Logan stumbled, letting go of Deceit’s hand to balance himself, making sure Patton didn’t topple them over, while the others slowly approached, clearly careful of Deceit.
“Logan, where were you?” Virgil demanded, “We got Roman into the hospital room and realized you weren’t with us, and we thought you were just rushed to another room, then the lady tells us you weren’t allowed in! Where did you go?!”
“A kind girl helped me instead.” Logan replied, Patton finally releasing him from his hug, allowing Logan to immediately grab Deceit’s hand again and pull him close. “She’s, apparently, very talented in healing, and she fixed Lio right up..”
Deceit gave a grin when the others turned their attention towards him. They were very obviously uncomfortable in his presence, but Deceit genuinely couldn’t bring himself to care. Maybe it was the throbbing pain he was in, or the fact he was with Logan- he didn’t know. “I think you should be thanking me- I saved you all.”
“Dolion Sanders, don’t be a dick.” Logan muttered, squeezing Deceit’s hand to scold him. He would usually smack him, but he didn’t want to hurt him. He was in enough pain as it is.
“Dol-?” Patton scrunched up his face in confusion, before realization fell on his face. “Oh..”
“My name is Dolion.” Deceit confirmed, “And while I’d hate to stop this touching moment, I feel like I am about to collapse any second now, so-”
Logan was quick to move, carefully wrapping his arm around Deceit to hold him steady, “Should we go, Lio?”
Deceit, letting himself put some weight on Logan, nodded. “It would be appreciated, Loganberry.”
“Worst nicknames ever,” Virgil muttered under his breath, but he was ignored as Roman, now energized enough to return them to the real world, gathered the Sides (and Thomas) into a circle, taking them back to the living room.
Logan immediately settled Deceit onto the couch, sitting next to him and holding his hand on his lap. “You okay?”
“Yes, Starshine, I am.” Deceit chuckled, leaning into Logan.
Virgil cringed. “This is disgusting.”
“Shut up, it’s cute.” Patton scolded, gently smacking Virgil’s shoulder.
Thomas just shook his head, sighing.
His personality really was something.

PriPara Summer Tour 2017: Osaka-pu!
I went to the Tokyo Live as well two weeks ago but I didn’t feel like talking about it as much. But I will now in comparison haha.
Wrote all of this on my phone last night but held off from posting it because I figured Tumblr wouldn’t do the cut right on mobile. Hopefully it’s not too jumbled.
When I got my ticket I originally thought I might be in the 2nd row. BuT it turns out I am dumb and can’t read because it said second FLOOR haha. But you know, that was good, because it was raised and I could see the whole stage this time. (The floor below was all the same and people were standing so I still probably wouldn’t have been able to see.) In Tokyo I could see like… a small keyhole window of the stage if I stood on my toes. Here the worst I had to deal with was the guy who wore Pikachu ears the entire…. time… but anyway!!!
This one was also better than Tokyo because the middle talk sections were a bit more polished. I feel like they took a few ideas they had then and ran with them.
For example, in Tokyo they teased about how iRis members voice the managers (Shion = Punicorn, Mirei = Chupe, Dorothy = Pitsuji) but this time they actually did a whole segment on them. Chupe was interviewed about what he thought of Osaka-pu, and Reona’s translation included that he wanted to see “the yellow guys over yonder”. (The Minions across the street at Universal Studios Japan oh lord haha.) Punicorn did a perfect impression of eating hot takoyaki. And Pitsuji’s Osaka-themed question was “Express your love for Reona!” The meaning of this was not clear until the Azuki got into an agument with the Pitsuji plushie as Dorothy. Reona: “Wow Dorothy, your Pitsuji impression is so good!”
There was also a totally new segment in Osaka after Yui, Michiru, and Nino introduced the merch. Yui suddenly tells Michiru and Nino to buy time as she runs off the stage. One of them suggests they should do “manzai” (if you don’t know what that is, remember Serenon from Pretty Rhythm) and the crowd is like “YEAH!!!” and then they are like “No it’s not a good idea to do it for real this time.” The way they said this strongly suggested any of the following is likely true:
1.) They actually planned to do manzai.
2.) It went really bad in practice.
3.) They decided never to do it again.
4.) I am totally sure that’s what happened.
So Yui finally comes out again pulling a similar cart she did in the Pokkaido episode filled with a big bag of rice and a blow up bale of hay. Nino in character takes the rice away from Yui. They mention the whole cart was full of rice but it was too heavy to pull so they went with the pool toy. Hahah. So! Yui announces they are giving away free rice to 5 people in the audience, call 5 seat numbers and tell them they can pick it up in the lobby. As far as I know those people got to take home honest to god giant bags of rice.
So about the actual performances.
Wasuta was the opening act both times! In addition to Just Be Yourself they also covered Let’s Go PriPara and Hello Hello Friends. No original songs. They are cute but I don’t have a favorite so I never know what color to use. The one wearing purple said she was from Aichi so I changed to purple though.
Okay sorry I am going to keep referring to the main voice actresses mostly by their character names sorry. I DO know they are real people with lives outside of PriPara, but they were in character for this show. (…also I don’t know their fan nicknames.)
Everyone who was at the Tokyo one did the same songs they did in the afternoon performance in Tokyo. Except for one big change. Non Sugar did not come to Osaka… but instead we got Falulu to conplete Tricolore. So instead of Sugarless Friend we got to hear Mon Chou Chou. And instead of Kono Uta To Mareihi and Jun Amore Ai we got to hear NEO DIMENSION GO AHHHHHHHHHHHH they went right into it from Mon Chou Chou and my mouth dropped. Mirei got to sing her movie song so I should have figured but it took me totally by surprise. (Haha I just realized in writing this that there was one less song so that’s where the Yui rice thing came in probably haha.)
I don’t know what Falulu’s outfit was supposed to be. It was this red and white thing that Falulu the anime character has never worn before. (Maybe it was made for the Christmas Live or something.) Yui’s CR looked even better than I remembered. Her outfit is the only one that really, truely looks just about as good as the arcade haha.
Yui seemed really nervous during her solo though. I don’t remember if she was last time. She’s so good though. Towards the end they threw out balls with signatures on them or something while singing the Idol Time ED, and she like… either threw it to the wrong place or hit someone or someone because she was like “UaWah!” into the mic as Yui during the song IT WAS SO CUTE hahah. I hope that makes the DVD.
Nino kinda had a difficult time as well. She was the only performance with back-up dancers. But I mean, I would be scared to be on the stage alone for my first performance too so I don’t blame her. (She said later that Nino was unlike any character she had ever voiced before and she was worried about being able to make it to the end! ) I think she also sung the least too… um, for the three new girls they didn’t lip-sync totally, but they did the thing where they just play the song and they sing along when they can. This is not uncommon. Dancing and singing at the same time is damn hard. I get it. I still enjoyed their performances a lot.
But they made it super obvious by having Yui and Nino shout out “Making Drama Switch On!” while the song vocal track was still playing and I couldn’t help feeling kinda bad for them… Oh well.
The senpais were all singing live though, I am pretty sure. SoLaMi Dressing sang a couple songs with a live band even!!! They are so good ahhh!!!!
About colors for the new girls, the consensus seems to be that Yui is yellow, Nino is green, Michiru is purple. I wish Yui could be pink, but that is Laala… so…
Michiru seemed slightly sassier than last time. I guess she realized at the Tokyo one that her character is really popular hehe. Both times she was very DEKIRUDEKIRUDEKIRU never breaking idol character.
Everyone was super happy to be in Osaka. Especially Mirei, since Osaka-pu is her territory. SoLaMi Smile also performed Triangle Star in Osaka-pu in the movie and now they got to do it for real!!! This lead into a conversation about how this is their first live concert since becoming Kami Idols, and as they hugged each other the camera panned to show Dressing Pafe (PARTICULARLY DOROTHY) looking very sulky hahahah ha ha.
Shion was happy to perform with Dressing Pafe since she hasn’t been on the anime much (well she is, just in a more “lovely” form as she described it [Punicorn]). This lead to Dorothy in character complaining and tsun-ing about Shion not being around.
Dorothy also totally forgot they performed recently in the Pendai episode and Reona corrected her gently. Every time I see them Dorothy is always messing her speech up and Reona is correcting her/calming her down and it never looks staged AT ALL.
Yui was also super happy to be in Osaka since she is from Kansai originally and it was her dream to return to perform. She said our “CHIKUTAKU CHIKUTAKU” was better than Tokyo’s eheh. (…Truth is it’s probably like half the same people though hahah.)
But you know what we didn’t do better at than Tokyo? Keeping those damn watermelon beach balls in the audience during Tondemo Summer Adventure. They kept getting hit back to the stage. Dorothy and Reona kept flopping over on them and throwing them back in WHILE STILL SINGING hahaha before Reona gave up and threw one of them backstage.
One of the biggest highlights both times was everyone singing the Idol Time ending as a finale. It’s definitely the best anime ending I think and makes an amazing live song because you get to “WAKU WAKU” “CHIKU TAKU” “SAIKOU NA HAPPY!!!!!” I want them to record the all character version...
I still have kind of mixed feelings about how I feel about real life idol concerts haha. But moments like that do make it seem worth it.

This is probably a really good book, but I find the style of writing ... This is probably a really good book, but I find the style of writing very difficult to read and stay interested in. I think Jimmy Webb is brilliant, and one of these days soon I am going to pick up the book again. Maybe the second time around will be better. Go to Amazon
Great to read from such an eloquent poet of song! I am so glad Jimmy took the time to write this. A book is not easy to write and for those critics out there, you might want to change your attitude. I found this book to be easy to read and rewarding as well as inspirational. It's honest and genuine from a man whom I revere as a songwriter. I'd just like to thank Jimmy personally for putting this together. Thank you, Jimmy! Go to Amazon
Conversational, Insightful Conversational in nature and loaded with wise insights. I felt like I was sitting down with a songwriting giant and gleaning, gleaning, gleaning. The only bad side (which isn't necessarily a bad thing) is that he is very opinionated about certain things, which, in music, everything is based on opinion so he probably shouldn't be so dogmatic on certain things. Go to Amazon
A Songwriting Seminar You Can Return to Again and Again I first encountered the music of Jimmy Webb as a kid in elementary school. When I first heard MacArthur Park, I was mesmerized -- a haunting, powerful melody with lyrics that grabbed you. As a teenager, I went to Las Vegas and watched Glen Campbell in concert. Glen acknowledged Jimmy as one of the greatest songwriters in American music history, then proceeded to sing By the Time I Get to Phoenix, Wichita Lineman, and Galveston as only Glen could do. I knew of Glen Campbell before Jimmy Webb because of the popularity of Glen's recordings and great success with Jimmy's music. It was years later that I discovered who had written those great songs sung by Glen. So I was fan of Jimmy Webb's music before I knew he was the artist who composed the music. When I discovered Jimmy had written a book on the craft of songwriting, as an amateur songwriter I had to hear what he had to say. I was glad I did. This book is like having Jimmy Webb in your music room delivering a seminar on the art of songwriting. But because it's a book you can return to it again and again. Webb's technical ability and musical knowledge, as expected, is tremendous and broad. He also presents tidbits of information about popular songs and the stories behind their creation that make for interesting asides on the process of the highly challenging craft of songwriting. These serve to keep the narrative moving and varied, but are also highly instructional in their own right. There are a lot of "I never knew that" moments, especially if you have an extensive song catalog in your mind. When he gets to the technical components though his expertise comes to the fore. His level of instruction rises to the point where I sometimes have to get a music dictionary to understand clearly. But that's okay with me. That's how we learn. His instructional elements range from basic melody composition to detailed and intricate harmonic construction. His commentary on lyric writing is particularly incisive and comprehensive. He is highly literary in his approach to songwriting. As such, he compels you to think about the meaning and sound of every word, and its relation to the song generally. So Jimmy helps you if you are writing music alone, lyrics alone, or both together. In an understated but palpable fashion, Jimmy lets you know that songwriting requires discipline, and courage. It's not a walk in the park by any means -- no pun intended. Along with the Beatles, my two favorite songwriters are Paul Simon and Jimmy Webb. Because of their towering status as American songwriters, the comparison is reasonable. Paul's lyrics and expanse of subject matter are second to none. He is a brilliant poet in his own right, as well as a brilliant musician and composer. But for pure melodic power and for conveying a distinctive musical idea, I have to give the nod to Jimmy Webb. Maybe the only downside of the book is the technical extent that he goes to in describing his subject matter. Also, some of the personal industry experiences appear somewhat drawn out on occasion. Still, these are minor points. If we want to learn from a master we will have to expect to work. And the personal asides often contain helpful information about the music business. Alltold, I highly recommend this book to anyone who aspires to learn the demanding craft of songwriting. In my humble opinion, a songwriter the caliber of Jimmy Webb comes along once every half century, as with Simon, and the prolific Beatles. So it makes sense to hear what he has to say if you are interested in improving as a songwriter. But I still learn more by playing, singing and listening to the music of Jimmy Webb, the Beatles, and Paul Simon. Go to Amazon
Insightful glimpse at the craft and the process Although it can get dense at times, and it's several kinds of books at one time, this book is fascinating and helpful in many ways. Webb has thought a lot about writing songs and about his own creative processes. He has written some great songs over the years, but it's hard to place him in the pop vs. traditional music spectrum. Of course you don't want to write Jimmy Webb songs anyway, but a lot of the stuff in here is anecdotal and rambling, how HE came to write and do various things. How does it apply to you? It may not! It's not a simple how-to but it's very stimulating. I'd balance this with more development/exercise/education oriented books, such as Pat Pattison's excellent "Writing Better Lyrics." Go to Amazon
Great Read At first I thought it waas going to be one of those tec-type advice reads, but it eventually evolved into a book that helps one to get the creative juices flowing. [Chapter 1: Pride.]
Standing in a sea of green grass were six individuals, three women, three men.
Their clothing as white as the six moons that hung above, their skin was tanned, their hair a bright blonde and their bodies were identical to each other in a few other ways.
Their arms were steel, their eyes were a chilling white, and it seemed that light emanated from their gaze.
They stood in line, side by side.
With the chirp of a single bird, they began to aimlessly walk in line.
But they came to a halt, as the ground before them split open and twisted, like a body suffering its final twitches before the spirit would exit.
An amalgamation of corpses, twisting steel and fire screamed from within the soil, only to be buried by it.
From its grave came a plant, which grew and grew and grew, spanning miles in all directions.
Branches upon branches hooking together to form a long wall that stretched not only into the horizon, but into the sky as well.
Between the thorny, seemingly alive twisted and tortured vines were bits of gold, held tightly in place by the vegetation.
Without hesitation, the men and women plunged their hands toward the gold, their metal hands being torn apart to reveal the flesh underneath, then the muscle.
Their screams were silent, yet you could see their bodies being ripped apart from the outside as the vines dug into their flesh, pulling them closer.
The plants pulled apart the ‘Humans’ revealing their metal bones, spilling their electronic guts against the ground before pulling them en mass into their greenery, never to be seen again.
---
Waking up from the horrid dream, the woman sluggishly moved to her mirrored dresser and stared at her self in Uniform.
She moved a hand to her face, only to be stopped by the pain she felt in both of her arms.
“Sister Ailbe?” Came a soft knock at the one-way glass door.
The voice outside was equally soft, yet somehow robotic, false.
The owner of the voice walked into the room, accidentally hitting Ailbe on the side of her head with the door, smashing her temple and blurring her vision.
“Oh, I’m sorry! Sorry!”
I only came to tell you Mass is in Fifty minutes. Sorry.”
The door closed abruptly, with the unseen woman running away, most likely out of embarrassment.
Ailbe, dazed and confused, stumbled toward her mirror and squinted.
Ailbe took in heavy breaths, trying to focus on her face.
It was blurred, but her dull grey eyes were the most in-focus thing she saw, aside from the rest of her robe-clad body.
With a shake of her head and a sharp inhale out of pain, Ailbe put on her protective mask and moved toward Mass.
Although the unseen woman said it would be fifty minutes till Mass, the halls heading down to the Chapel were already crowded. With thousands upon thousands of Adepts forming lines from their dorms to hear the word of the Preacher whom was selected for the day.
Maneuvering down the gilded, yet cramped Hall, she managed to spot the Preacher’s glowing armor.
But there was something about the glow that hurt her deeply, perhaps she was sick.
“Brothers and Sisters!” Spoke the Preacher, his voice thunderous.
Her brain felt as if it was being beaten by a drum now, her eyes felt as if they were being ripped from her skull while the red life that flowed within her veins now coated the exterior of her eyes.
“I see many young pupils, many young men and women whom are still thirsty for the word of the Men and Women whom have created this SANCTUARY! Which one of you still needs to Wake?”
Her eyes, once grey and dull, had become blood red, her pupils becoming pure white.
She tried her best to look at the Preacher, hoping he would somehow help her through this sickness.
“I SEE ONE OF YOU! IN THE CROWD RIGHT NOW! Wake up, Child! Wake up and take your place!”
The tears in her eyes were a slimy green, it ran down her face-mask and then hit the floor.
The white marble became a charred concrete, the people around her, clad in brilliant white and wearing their silver mask were really sickly, weak people whose bodies were hooked to devices, sucking away their life bit by bit.
Their hands were vascular and night-black from ash.
She looked at her feet, she wore no shoes. She wore rags, her youth kept her body in shape, but just barely.
The Preacher, he still wore his brilliant whites and beautiful armor, but he was a pompous, fat man, not a Warrior.
“No, no, no, no, no, no.” She repeated to herself.
She did not wish to see the husk of her reality, twisting and screaming before her. She clasped her hands around her bleeding face and cried out, slamming her shoulder into the metal wall to her left.
“Do you hear something?”
“Where’d Sister Ailbe go?”
“Who?”
“--Sister Ailbe? I’ve never met a Sister Ailbe.”
Their voices, while soft and mentally absent, stung like knives in a gaping wound to her.
“Now Brothers and Sisters! To work! To please the gods above, whom watch our every move!”
They moved in mass, including Ailbe whom was driven toward the Preacher, only to be pulled by the tide of people going to their work.
The clacks of metal chains, the whir of their mechanical prisons adjusting with a hiss to their ever-shifting weight in chorus was beginning to drive her mad after only a few seconds.
There--she saw it.
Where she worked.
It was no Holy garden, it was a mine.
Workers for hundreds of miles, thousands of ill looking, near-corpses working their fingers to the bone. Some of them digging at the black rock with their bare fingers, giddily singing songs to the gods whom founded this world for them.
Ailbe recalled the tales of the demons, those whom were said to be made within the walls of Port Pride--she realized what she had become, and she cried.
She wailed, she stomped her feet and smashed her head against the chest of a Knight, whom stood still as a stone.
“What did I do wrong?!” She shouted out, her voice muffled by the mask. But even if she could shout through it, her voice would be drowned in all the singing, and the smashing of bone and steel against rock.
She found a corner and slowly sat down, the heavy cage-suit around her causing her to fall onto her rear with a clank.
She looked to her hands, calloused, bloody and black as night, like everyone else.
She looked to her hair, messy and charred.
She moved her legs out, to look at her dress. Fire-retardant rags, is what they were, with a number displaying whom she was in someone’s careless eyes.
“I’m--a number.” She thought aloud.
“Just--a number.”
She put her hands onto her face to cry, stopping with a flinch once she looked down at the mask on her face.
She tapped around, looking for a release to it.
There was none, she began to freak out, among other things, and began to claw at it, cutting her skin with her chipped fingernails.
“Why am I sweating? It’s so cold out here...”
“I’m just--just--so happy being here! I--I could...BURST!”
“Shut up!” She shouted, only to have her voice muted by the mask she so desperately was trying to claw off of her now bleeding face.
“Do you smell it too? The Ginger? So sweet...Why is my mouth bleeding?”
“Shut up and Help me!”
The ground quaked, from a distance, a booming voice shouted.
“INTRUDER!”
And with it, came a collapse in the cave, and a rise of lava.
Ailbe sat there, staring at the flames as they engulfed the workers whom still sung their songs, not noticing that the cages around their bodies did little to protect them from the heat, and the hungry lava.
The sound of liquids boiling, the terrifying smell of roasting flesh and the visuals of so many steel-encased bodies lying upon the floors, only to be dragged away by the suddenly appearing hulking men in black, or the lava below their very feet terrified the Newly-Awoken woman.
One of the men in Black paused, looking to Ailbe and her bleeding face.
“Foul Spirit!” He shouted, dropping the body he was carrying to go after her.
“N--I’ve done nothing wrong! Please!”
“You DARE come into this Sanctum?! Out into the fields with you!”
He grabbed a hold of the near-corpse by her head, dragging her toward a thick door. Pulling it open with a huff, the man in Black armor stared her down with his glowing orange eyes, with several grunts, he pulled the wires from her, tore the suit off of her flesh.
“Go die with the rest of the demons!”
He shouted, tossing her out screaming into the corpse filled river.
With a crash and a splash, she lay there, gasping as she felt the cool embrace of the blood soaked river before passing out from pain.
Hours passed, and she found herself being carried down stream along with a few dozen corpses.
She--was ready to die, prepared for it, even.
She stared at the Six moons above, and hummed a tale she heard from her mother about the six gods whom made Port Pride...
With a clunk, her head met a corpse’s foot.
A large log attached to a make-shift pulley stopped her passage.
Ailbe raised her frail, barely functioning limbs to get out of the water, clawing her way onto the grass but failing, only managing to get her arms and neck out of the water.
In the distance, quiet thumps came.
Giants, so they seemed to be, but in reality, it was simply a group of men and women on curved stilts, slowly making their way through the forest toward the river.
Her head met the grass, in hopes that she might fool them into believing she was but a corpse.
One of them whispered, slowly lowering in height as he walked toward the woman in the blood river.
The hiss of the stilts was audible now, but it became louder, as did the footsteps.
The man crouched, placing his leather-encased hand onto the woman’s chin, raising her head so that he may look into her eyes.
His eyes, like hers, were surrounded by red, with his pupils being a bright white.
“Child.” Spoke a tired, honest and heartwarming voice.
“Do you still sleep?” The voice was that of an elderly man, his body clasped in a clock of feathers, and his face obscured by a helm resembling an eagle.
The woman opened her mouth, only capable of letting out a sound like that of a bloody gargle from underneath the mask.
“Shhhh, save your strength...you managed to hear me. I will take you to your True Home.”
He grabbed a hold of her, hoisting her out of the water with a single hand.
In his right hand, he held his staff tightly, before securing it in a sheath on his belt.
Pulling her close to his chest, he wrapped her in his cloak and carried her with both his hands hand, like cradling baby.
“White Moon, watch for more.” The old man whispered, taking slow steps out toward the Trees, and the gargantuan mountains behind them.
