✉ FFXIV RP Letters / Postcards ✉

The concept is simple: Send IC letters/postcards to other characters (via Asks).

You don't have to handwrite them either. Why not pick a font that best represents your character's handwriting, and type it instead? Then just hand it to the Post Moogles (upload it to the recipient's Asks).

As with real life letters, there's no requirements on length, or frequency. You can write as much (or little) as you want, when you want.

If anyone sees this and wants to write any of my characters, please hit me up. I also highly encourage reaching out to others to see if they'd be interested in such a thing.

It could also be a fun to extend RP to characters that you've seen around, but never had a chance to interact with. Timezones and DC locations have no power here!!

Something you'll want to establish before you start writing though, is how your characters know each other. Could be they simply posted/read a notice on a board about penpals wanted. Or maybe they met previously? Maybe they grew-up together?

Why not choose parchment that suits your character? Maybe they like pretty patterned paper, and always have a ready supply of stationery to choose from.

Or maybe they travel a lot, and just use a page or two from an everyday notepad they keep with them.

Or could they be the type that frequently forgets to write, and maybe only has a napkin or back of a flyer to hand when they finally do remember?

You could write about anything you'd like. Whatever your OC gets up to, or thinks about, and is happy to share.

dumbass school project has me researching crtc laws but no teacher can stop me from having homosexual thoughts on the side, so lemme propose:

new radiostatic meeting idea!!!!!

so one of the programs alastor used to run on his radio show was civilian story hour, in which any regular listener of his show could send in a ~5 minute script for a radio play that, if he liked it, alastor would read out on air and give them some promotion at the end for. he did it because he wanted to build hell's creative ecosystem, and also hey free labour!

vox, who became obsessed with alastor's show immediately after he landed in hell and found out it was basically the only option, immediately mails in a few stories. they confuse alastor with words like "fridge" and "beatnik" but they're actually very well written and help his rates a ton, except, well. every time they're mailed in, the envelope comes with an additional page of overenthusiastic praise for alastor's show and suggestions for possible new segments, and well, he has the return address, doesn't he?

so reasonably, alastor sends a response letter to vox, mostly insulting his ideas and mocking him, but also mentioning that maybe his writing is kinda good i guess.

vox, pathetic simp that he is, quickly sends in another story and thanks alastor for the feedback, changing his suggestions to better fit alastor's program.

obviously, alastor responds. now they're penpals. eventually, alastor notices some idiot on the street with one of those "televisions" that vox always mentions instead of a head, and wouldn't it be a funny coincidence if that was actually his sinner form? wouldn't it?
