Guest post by @ardentarrows. Family traditions. I love them so much and am thankful to create them with my kiddos. Every night during the season of advent we gather together to talk about Christ and why He came. Every Sunday of advent we celebrate by lighting the weekly candle and discussing the theme that is represented each week. We also use our Advent cards from She Speaks Truth. Something new we added last year was our @thegivingmanger which helps us keep our focus on serving others throughout the season, keeping our eyes and hearts turned toward blessing others. We are loving this new tradition so much and our kiddos are always looking for ways to serve without letting the others know what they are doing, in hopes of surprising the recipient. It blesses this Mama heart so much! This week our theme is peace, and we are focused as a family to pray for peace for our city. If you are a praying person, would you please join us this week, every evening, and pray for true peace to be in our city? If you need prayer, please let me know how we can be praying for you specifically. We've never been to a production here and I am thrilled to support local artists, always! I didn't realize this was a women operated and written establishment and I gotta say, as a female business owner, I found this to be very interesting. Guest post by @ardentarrows. Currently settling in, wrapping gifts, fulfilling last-minute Christmas orders, and enjoying the smells of Christmas wafting from kitchen. Do you make simmer pots during the holiday season? They're super easy, and the smell is divine! I bet you already have everything on hand. •Small pot filled with water •Orange slices (and/or peels) •Cranberries •Cinnamon sticks •Whole cloves •Allspice berries •Rosemary sprig Bring to a boil and simmer until water is just covering the bottom. Refill 2-3 more times before dumping and starting a new one. Guest post by @ardentarrows. We found the perfect book for our nephew and can't wait to read it to him. There are so many fantastic books to choose from. I highly recommend any D'aulaire book. They are filled with rich language, are beautifully illustrated, and are incredibly informative. We have several of them and my kiddos always ask to read them before bed.
