Sometimes, the best intended spells can have unexpected results.

On Sunday, December 10th, my partner did a solo simmerpot over our firepit in the backyard while the Coven met in our dining room for a small Yule celebration. In the pot, were an orange, an apple, a bundle of pine needles, a cinnamon stick, cloves, nutmeg, vanilla, and a few other things. Now prosperity spells are finicky, and normally one on it’s own isn’t enough. But layering several can help…

hi angel 🤍 vanilla essential oils (in a diffuser or on cotton balls that you can hide around the home — just be careful if you have pets or kids), simmerpots with orange peels, cinnamon + vanilla drops, homemade room spray made with a few drops of vanilla extract and water, and using beeswax based vanilla candles. let me know if you try any!

Got my keys to my new apartment on #imbolc so I merged my apartment cleansing ritual and Imbolc activities.

My new apartment needed a spiritual cleanse before moving my belongings in. I made sure to bring my home #domovoy and a plant for #imbolc as the first things to come in. The #simmerpot has yarrow, German chamomile, rosemary, lavender and a bay leaf for each of us and the house spirits. Windows and mirrors got a #floridawater cleanse and a rosemary incense throughout.

I'm going to experiment with using something akin to a simmerpot as a substitute for incense.

I have never been a big fan of the smell of smoke and I don't like how it lingers in my house.

Also, I worry about the health of my pets. Cats have very sensitive lungs and I would never forgive myself if I hurt them.

Posting this here as lest I forget my most recent message.

I FINALLY got around to cleankng up tools I used in a new home cleaning ritual and it has taken the better part of two days now.

I cleaned my space yesterday and made a cleaning water of bay, rosemary, clove and angelica yesterday during Imbolc. Today, I went about cleaning votive candle holders, myself and the sink I used to clean the candleholder. - All of this while I have a white candle burning. After cleaning I had the urge to make a protective simmerpot of Rosemary, bay leaf, cedar and pinecones that called to me earlier in the day. I used this mixture to clean my sink and myself further.

I then sat down for a well deserved rest and browsed a post about herbal properties as I wanted to revisit pine. Birch stood out to me too and I need to speak to a birch tree soon.

As I scrolled I read about nutmeg properties of increasing spiritual powers, I wondered to myself if the nutmeg in my daily spiced tea was increasing my energy sensitivity. My left ear rang out loudly. It was a 'No duh,' sound and then the white candle went out.

♡ — today i woke up early, cleaned my whole apartment, brewed a simmerpot, made myself a vegan protein smoothie, read some of my book in the sun, gave myself a facial, took an everything shower, moisturized with lavender body butter and lapis facial oil, and now i'm relaxing in my comfy lounge chair in my newly thrifted skirt. feeling peaceful, cleansed, and happy.

Spent time with my best friend and her family celebrating Yule. Her and her oldest and my oldest and I did a number of low key things to celebrate as we spent the day together. One thing we did was make a simmer pot together, each of us taking turns prepping and adding items. We made the base of the simmer pot apple juice, though, and later all enjoyed the fruity, spiced warm cider. It tasted so good we all want to do that again!

Photo 1 shows the pot on the stove with the juice in it and the cranberries, orange slices and rosemary sprigs floating on top with a wooden spoon resting on one edge of the pot.

A few days later, my oldest and I made orange and clove pomanders while sipping cocoa and listening to holiday music. The pomanders smelled amazing and we both enjoyed the cozy time making something together. Photo two shows 4 of the clove decorated orange pomanders in a small white bowl.

A sound strategy against enemies. Not so much allies.

Gods, he was drow, wasn’t he? He reminded her so much of an old friend in tone and demeanor just then that it made her heartsick and homesick in equal measure, and she smiled a little in spite of herself. So pragmatic. So direct, so humorless, so utterly familiar. She was afraid she was going to grow rather fond of teasing him.

“A sound strategy against anyone until you’ve decided who is who, especially in a place as tense as that grove. I thought one more armored tiefling was perhaps not a wise addition to the simmerpot.” And there was a bit of vanity to it, she supposed. Not that it was anyone’s business but her own.

“I can hold my own in battle, and I carry my weight. Relax, Sol’rys.” She suspected that telling him to relax would ruffle a feather or two, and with a coy little grin, glanced sidelong at him to see the results of her experiment. “You’re welcome to a spar if it really worries you.” A tease again—she didn’t expect him to accept an offer to waste time and energy on a play scrap.

he thought dryly that no one was as studied as gale.   the wizard wasn't exactly the most humble specimen he'd had the annoyance of encountering,   certainly for a human.  still,  it told him nothing.  he had a few magical tricks himself,  mostly to support his fighting styles.  that hardly made him a caster (certainly not with his talentlessness.  even the innate conjurations a drow could manipulate had been painfully slow for him to grasp when he was far younger).  

look again.   he tilted his head and regarded the tiefling again.  he opened his mouth,   about to express his confusion,   before he saw it,   the faint flicker of image as if it were transparent.  raising an eyebrow,  he refocused his eyes,  more determined to see through the illusion.  he indeed recognized the craftsmanship of the armor.   

“look helpless,  everyone underestimates or does the work for you.”   a strategy he favored in his own way.  surfacers tended to have him outmatched in height and muscle.  their arrogance made them careless and foolish.  “a sound strategy against enemies.  not so much allies.”
