### Echoes of Alte Schönhauser Straße

In Mitte's heart, at number twenty-nine,

A building stands from eighteen eighty-six,

Part of Spandauer Vorstadt's timeless line,

Its walls a canvas where my dreams would mix.

I lived within its hinterhof embrace,

From ninety-three to ninety-nine, my years,

In that marvellous space, I found my place,

As architecture's whispers reached my ears.

Berlin, a melting pot of bold designs,

Yet in Mitte, the art was not to draw,

Through collaged fragments, history entwines,

Discarded books and mags, my silent law.

Vision On, a show for silent sight,

Reflected words that danced without a sound,

Imagination's playground, pure delight,

Where ideas, both sane and silly, found.

Like Vision On, I crafted without voice,

Deaf to the city's echoes, forging new,

An architect's path, my solitary choice,

In beauty's art, both frightening and true.

Geometry's primacy, the vulgar's face,

Forced me to see reflections deep within,

In that hinterhof, I carved my own space,

From silent echoes, new designs begin.

I struggled with perception, yet I found,

Another world where beauty's fear resides,

In Alten Schönhauser's hallowed ground,

Where history and future both collide.

One day, my voice will rise above this din,

From echoes of the past, a new refrain,

In Berlin's heart, my visions will begin,

To speak of beauty, born from silent pain.
